The staff was very friendly. It was easy to get in and out of and for the location, I guess one could say it was reasonably priced. Everything else in that town was high as all get out, but I know it's not exactly easy to get things in and out there. My husband and I chuckled about the bowls being something that you ate in college or that someone drunk would consume. It was for sure something easy to throw together. It filled our tank, but definitely wasn't something I'd eat again. They do have a good spot in town for you to take it all in and rest while you eat. Very meh tacos. Staff was not real friendly and the prices are high for what you get. I.e.- Charge $4 for cheese on a taco. And my kids quesadilla was an incredibly meager portion. There are very unwelcoming signs everywhere about not asking where the pizza place is (it's their neighboring restaurant just 100ft away), and not bringing in outside food. "Even if you order 1,000 tacos don't sit here with a drink from anywhere else." There's a nice succinct way to say please don't bring in outside food. The length and extent they go to is incredibly off putting but we wouldn't go back anyway bc the food was so average. read more

This has got to be the worst taco joint I have ever had in my life. If you want bland tasteless tacos, odd ingredients mismatched and poor slow service. Well then you will like it here. Everything we ordered was tasteless and unflavourfull. The rice and beans were mushy. There were no herbs or vegtables except for spinach??? Spinach doesn't even belong on a burrito. Salsa was miniscule that I could not taste it in half of my burrito. The meat was awful like the just put unseasoned meat on a grocery store bought tortilla. This was the most terrible attempt for tacos or burritos i have ever received in a takeout place or restaurant. To top it off it was almost $28! Major rip off. Service was extremely slow and when requested to cut my burrito in half they agreed then completly ignored the request. It also took at least 40 min for this lazy attempt at Mexican food. Avoid at all costs. Its probably the worst thing I have eaten in an entire year, if not decade! Yes its that bad. read more

My wife ordered the 5 mini-tacos. They were fine - not great. Not flavourful. A bit pricey. Even though she bought food here, we were not allowed to sit in their patio (there were no other customers), because I didn't have food from here. I personally think that is not good policy. After an asthma attack left me not up for hiking, I sent my group off for the day while I chilled in town. All the eateries were sort of big and over the top, so Taco Bar's fresh-looking menu and regular sized portions are what finally drew me in. They've got a great outdoor yard space, so getting to eat outside and soak in the gorgeous weather was also a plus. My food came out quickly and was very tasty. The ingredients tasted fresh and blended well together. It was a filling meal for a reasonable price in a great setting, so I can't really ask for more. Small restaurant with made to order Mexican-style food. The restaurant is very casual. There is intentional graffiti on the walls and mismatched brightly colored chairs. When you walk in, look at the menus at the right end of the countertop. The menu is small, tacos 4" & 5", burritos with some sides. No nachos. Look at the beverages in the cooler when deciding what to drink. There was beer and sodas. Orders are taken by the cook. We had (2) 4" tacos @ $2.75 each and two burritos; one beef the other chicken @ $9.00. When you order the side of rice and beans they are put in your burrito. The tacos were too small for dinner but were tasty. The burritos were amply sized. The burritos were "spicy" but weren't spicy. True hot sauce is provided. The rice was undercooked (slightly crunchy) but everything else was good and seemed to be made there. The only concern was the cook was continually sniffling. read more

From what I gather ("this is our first full season in operation"), The Taco Bar is a fairly new restaurant in Waterton. I went there for supper on my first night in town. My husband and I both opted for two 5" soft tacos for $10. They don't offer hard tacos. You can choose from carne (beef), pollo asado (chicken), carnitas (pork), or veggie. We had two beef and two chicken. They were very tasty and flavourful. Everything is made in house except for the tortillas. I did find them to be overpriced for the serving size, but Waterton is very overpriced, so it is still a good value for that town. I think the "big burrito" would have been a way better value, at $9 for 12". Very casual place. Order at the counter. No alcohol. There are a few tables outside which is quite nice. read more

We arrived late tonight to our hotel. We called and inquired about their hours of operation. The gal told us that they were closing but would wait for us if we came on in. We arrived literally within 2 min of the call. The menu had burritos, bowls and tacos. We got to choose wether we wanted mild or hot (Canadian hot is not that hot). Then we chose our filling. We ended up with all of the fillings among us. The carnitas, carne Asana, chicken and vegetable tacos were amazing. They were topped off with a delicious citrus slaw. The food was absolutely delicious. There was a young gentleman that was extremely friendly. He had great customer service. He made sure that our party as well as the Australian party was happy and content. He offered helpful information about the park and various hikes. We highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This was probably the worst Mexican experience I've had in a long time. We took the family thinking it would be good. But the tacos were strictly just some shredded meat and salsa and nothing else. No extra toppings of any kind. On top of a couple soft corn tortillas it just became a soggy mess. My wife and I ate ours but it was hard to get the kids to eat theirs. We also purchased the "shared chips & salsa" for $6.50. This was just a handful or two of chips and a couple large spoonfuls of salsa. Not worth the cost for something so basic. One of my all time favorite taco places! The menu is simple but each item is extremely tasty. I highly recommend the tacos (get one of each flavor) or the burrito with the beef filling and the cheese tortilla (seriously delicous). The food is homemade and extremely fresh so if you go at the beginning of their work week (Thursday I believe), you may not have all the menu items available to you....so of you go Thursday give them a few hours to prep! Casual, laid back place in the town of Waterton. We stopped in for lunch today and enjoyed the burritos - carne and pollo. Both were quite tasty, decent size portions and reasonably priced for what you get. The guy who took our order and acted as cashier was not good, but the woman making the burritos was super nice and friendly. We were here last night and left very disappointed. We all ordered burrito bowls- three vegetarian and one chicken. My bowl was essentially a bowl of spinach with salsa on top. I had maybe 20 grains of rice and 10 unflavored beans. I also paid a dollar extra for cheese and was rewarded with about three shreds. The person who ordered the chicken bowl got only a couple of pieces. Needless to say, we left and got more food somewhere else. This little restaurant was a little piece of heaven after a long day of hiking. I absolutely loved there burrito bowl with the surprisingly wonderful addition of spinach making it so tasty! There homemade salsa and cilantro addition was fantastic. The portions were exactly right and you weren't too full after them leaving enough room for another local icecream place to go to. The chip and Mexican salsa appetizer was a yummy way to tie you over till you received your meal. The service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere was fantastic. My two companions also lived there meals (burrito bowl and burrito). The location was in the middle of the bustling town of Waterton and the little outdoor patio was fun to people watch from. I may have been extremely hungry that day after the hike but I still think I would have enjoyed this meal regardless. Also pretty inexpensive! read more
