We came here on a Monday looking for something open. The place is very nice, looks like a nicer resort and the inside is upscale and modern. The staff was nice and they were only seating the bar half of the restaurant. The menu is quite small with a huge tequila selection and some other cocktails. The pricing is pretty high and the food is definitely southwestern not true Mexican, which you can tell from the photos. We had the chips and salsa. The chips were definitely homemade and thick. The chips were delicious alone but I came with a green and red sauce. The green sauce was good, the red was okay and both were mild. For dinner I had the carne asada tacos and my dad had the pollo tacos. Each taco plate comes with 4 and you cannot mix and match. The carne asada was delicious. You could tell the meat was high quality and seasoned well. The tortillas were corn, but thick and delicious. I do not usually like corn but these were phenomenal. The pollo was okay, I wasn't a huge fan of the seasoning on the chicken but I do like that the portion of the meat was substantial. To drink I got their pineapple drink with vodka instead of tequila. It was good but small and almost $20

We knew it was a great pick when we entered and saw all the tables packed and buzzing with happy faces. The wait was about 15-20 minutes without a reservation, which gave us the perfect opportunity to check out the town and farmers market. The food and drinks were great, and our waiter Shaun was lovely. As a person of color, I felt comfortable here, and the atmosphere felt warm and inclusive. We left full and happy. Honestly, can't wait to dig into my leftovers tonight!

Jalisco Cantina is one of the few Whitefish restaurants that we've not been to over the years because we just weren't sure about "Mountain Mexican"... We decided to give JC a go (finally) and unfortunately we were not impressed. To start, it's got a great feel to it (nicely designed/decorated place with that "Montana Cool" feel) and the service was excellent, but the food on the other hand was simply not good. The chips and salsa were alright, but the beef birria was terrible (entirely too much cumin made it inedible) and the chile rellano was just ok. JC has a ton of potential because it's such a cool place, but the most important thing being the food is simply not good... It's far from authentic, way over priced (especially the drinks; $26 for a top shelf margarita is laughable), and exactly what you think of when you hear "Mexican food where Mexicans don't eat." My grandson ordered steak tacos that came with rice. He also ordered the quesadilla which also came with rice.

This is a nice welcoming restaurant. They have dining on the main floor and also on the 2nd floor. It's cozy , not a large restaurant. I ordered the chicken tacos which were very good. We also ordered chips, salsa and guacamole. My daughter ordered the shrimp tacos which she loved. My grandson ordered the steak tacos and a quesadilla.

Visited here in early October and I still can't get over how bad the food was.. :( Genuinely the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The server was absolutely amazing and he provided us with a good experience but the food was seriously lacking We got a quesadilla and a burrito. My burrito was filled with rice and beans which were DISGUSTING. Just a mushy mess and there was like 3 pieces of steak in there. The chips and salsa were straight out of a can. If you're from the west coast don't except the same Mexican food that we're used to

We made a dinner reservation here on a Tuesday evening, and I'm glad we did since it was packed! The parking lot is large, but it filled up quickly. The restaurant is also huge and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated promptly, but it took a long time (at least 20 minutes) for our entrees to arrive. The food wasn't bad, but nothing was that memorable. We got chips and guac/salsa for the table, and I really liked the brown salsa (the guac could have used more salt). For my entree, I ordered the fish tacos (all taco orders come with four, so I ended up sharing my dish since the portion was big). We also got french fries for the table which I thought tasted just okay.

My husband and I recently came here for dinner after a long day of hiking - we came on a weekday around 630PM and it was packed. They quoted us almost an hour long wait - however, we were able to grab some bar stools within 15 minutes. The margs? Delish. For food, we started with the salsas and the tuna - we devoured the tuna. It was truly so delicious and flavorful. For the salsas, we both preferred the red, but both were still great. My husband ordered one of their nightly specials - a steak - which was cooked to his preference. I ordered the burrito and it was MASSIVE; I truly was not prepared. While it was delicious, it was mostly rice and beans - so it felt the ratio of ingredients was a bit off. However, it truly could have been three meals for me (if only we weren't staying in a hotel with no fridge!). Service was great and attentive, even with it being packed.

Our server was great. Food choices were very limited for a Mexican restaurant. My chicken burrito was all dark meat. The shredded cabbage/ coleslaw had no dressing. Strange music played. Drinks were ok. $13. For a tiny margarita. Prices avg.$20 a plate. Chips n salsa must be purchased. I would not recommend

We started with a clearly number 1 cocktail served in a beehive glass--cool looking and a perfectly balanced/composed cocktail . We also had the seasonal shrub which was watermelon jalepeno and again delicious--not overly sweet with a nice kick. I did get to choose the heat level, and it didn't disappoint. For food , we started with chickpea fritters with a tamarind chutney. The presentation and taste were flavorful and creative. For our main, we both had the tempura golden enoki. I don't often eat vegetarian dishes out but glad not to miss this outstanding creation with a sticky rice waffle base, baby bok choi, black garlic XO tempura enoki and a green curry sauce . Certainly the best meal I have had this year and quite surprised to find it in Whitefish MT. Props to the chef !!!

We started off with the Alaskan Halibut Corndog, its more of a cooked more inside, and I kid you not I wish I ordered another of these it was so good! We also had the  Bunuelo which is shaped to mimic a pretzel that was filled with a glorious goat cheese mousse and kraut powder and a little jalapeno relish I have never in my life tasted anything like it, it was sensational. If you see this on the menu immediately order it. Next up was the Dungeness Crab Cake there is something to be said about a beautiful rendition of this dish with its flaky generous portions of crab, thoroughly enjoyed. The Grilled Korean Short Rib was an absolute favorite of mine as well, there is no way you cold get enough of it. For the mains we had the Pan Seared Duck Breast 4/5 came with the most beautiful cherry mole and corn succotash that was just exception, the balance on this speaks to the chefs talent. Now the issue here was actually the duck, one side of the breast just seemed very over and chewy while the other was perfect which is a shame but I am glad to have tried it. My kid thoroughly enjoyed Lamb Ragu with gnocchi and I honestly couldn't agree more and how well made the gnocchi was, pillow soft and utterly flavorful. But the real star of the night was Wagyu with tallow fried tater tot, chimichurri and brown butter carrots I would say though this dish commands a price, it was absolutely worth it, done exactly as ordered and every bite of each component was heavenly. For dessert we had the Cornbread dessert with miso caramel and burnt honey ice cream and it blew my mind, I am not a honey person but there's also a sense of trust you gain while eating that the kitchen knows best so dive in head first and it didn't disappoint we also had the Evening in Missoula Panna Cotta with rhubarb, orange blossom meringue and coconut boba the burst of flavors I kept getting and the delightful panna cotta was superb. Both the desserts were comped by the restaurant since even though we had a reservation we waited far too long of a time, it was close to 45min before we were seated because the previous customer had paid but were holding the table up. To me that's not something I can shrug off, I understand that they were full but 20min max I can excuse more than double is a hard swallow regardless of how great are host eventually was (Hi Dennis, you were awesome thank you!) and I appreciate the free deserts but overbooking might have been your issue here.

We ordered the Tot-chos (half order to share among six people) and I also got a huckleberry soda for myself as well as the bison (classic) burger with sweet potato fries. For dessert, we shared two scoops of huckleberry ice cream (from Sweet Peaks), the bread pudding and the beignets. I loved the Tot-chos, and the half order was honestly a pretty big size already! The huckleberry soda was pretty sweet (I think it had 41 grams of sugar), but I don't regret trying it. The bison burger wasn't bad, it definitely tasted similar to beef, but it was a huge burger so I couldn't finish it. The sweet potatoes were also delicious. In terms of the dessert, I had gone to Sweet Peaks already and liked their huckleberry flavor a lot, so I was excited to see them on the menu. People at my table loved the bread pudding. I thought the beignets were not bad, but they weren't as good as the other desserts.
