Stopped by Tommy's Tacos and had a great experience. The space has a fun, casual vibe and is a good spot to go with friends and try a variety of things. The service is great. We started with frozen margaritas which were cold, refreshing, and a solid way to kick things off. The ground beef nachos came loaded with queso and guac, and the extra chips on the side made it easy to share. The birria tacos with the dipping sauce were one of the highlights, juicy and full of flavor. The smash burger taco was a fun twist and worked surprisingly well. We also tried a few different tacos including a shrimp steak taco with crispy onions and chimichurri crema, and a blackened shrimp taco with mango pico which added a nice contrast. The taco of the month, a blackened sirloin steak taco with horseradish crema and corn pico de gallo, brought something a little different to the table. We finished with a churro funnel cake topped with cinnamon sauce which was warm and a great dessert to share. Overall, a solid spot for tacos with a lot of variety and creative options. Small, hole in the wall vibe. You order with employee who will bring out your food for you; otherwise everything else is self service - you pick seats, you get your own utensils, and water. We went for $3 taco Tuesday and $5 margs - not all tacos are $3 and only regular marg is $5 otherwise flavors is additional $2 and other drinks are more. All the tacos were good - some can use more flavor so I paid extra for guacamole and sour cream to add. I have been wanting to come here for months and what better time than on a random (taco) Tuesday! The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was. The decor on the walls were interesting and fun and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. You have the option to sit at the bar, order through staff member, or a tablet and of course takeout. We started out with chips and guac. Both were made fresh with the chips being crunchy and very well seasoned and the guac creamy and delicious. And ofc we had to with the Birria tacos and I am glad we did. Absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, well seasoned and the taco gave it a great crunch and bite. The consomé was so good I wish I could take a cup home to just have. We also had the chicken quesadilla which was good and tasty and it came with Tommy's secret dipping sauce which complimented it well. Firstly, I've been coming here for the last 6 months about once a week and the food is always good. But had a realization about 2 weeks ago and ever since I've been reluctant to go back. Accidentally dropped my food all over out front almost immediately after walking outside with my order. Since it was my fault I decided to just go back inside and pay again for a new meal and to my surprise it was ready in less than a minute. I looked at the waitress confused and she said that all the food is pre-made so they can make the orders out quick. I think she thought she was backing up their speed but I all I could think about is that meat sitting out all day and I haven't been able to go back. read more

This is such a cute place, but ordering is very cafeteria style and they don't include the basics... quesadillas... no side of salsa, guacamole, sour cream???? Have to pay for them, and then get a ridiculous amount to big fora side for dipping. Lame- total miss. Raise the price a dollar and do it correctly. Food was just ok to boots. Upon debating a variety of taco options this evening, settled on Tommy. Taco variety isn't that large, but perfectly fine, means they focus more on what they do make. Let's cover the basics: Shop itself, very upbeat vibe. Good music playing. Staff are coming and friendly. A chill environment. Food: ordered the beef birria, street corn on the cob, surf and turf taco and the shrimp taco. Birria wasn't my favorite. Lacking on the salt side for me personally and had I been a rating them on the birria and the street corn alone, it would have been 4 stars. Corn was yummy but likewise missing that lunch of flavor that I was hoping for. Shrimp taco had barely any mango, plenty of tomato but the shrimp was perfectly done. Now for the taco that forced me to put all 5 stars. The surf and turf. Now this combination of perfectly grilled steak, shrimp fried onions, a chimmichurri sauce that ignited the taste buds sending my eyes wide open as it blended with the rest of the flavors. That was the absolute highlight. The star taco in my opinion. Think I might have to get a platter of just those next time. Just wow. Also this was a takeout order and you'll see in the pictures what a great job they did marking each dish. That was VERY useful. Didn't leave me guessing which taco is which. I'm not going to tell any lies. I was totally not ready for this food review. I was thinking I was just going to grab lunch real quick. No time for a lot of pictures and not kidding I was not prepared for what I was about to experience. I was in the what is no longer the Big H shopping center and said let me grab lunch from Tommy's Taco, I've never been. The girl behind the counter was super friendly. Told her about my allergies and to my surprise they were able to accommodate. You'll be surprised to know how many restaurants do not accommodate food allergies.... Moving on. The vibes are fun! I ordered the special of the month(Nov): Pineapple Express and it was delicious. I ate before I even left the parking lot. I also ordered birria tacos. Now here is where my life went through a change. I had to make my way back from lunch. I was running late. I figured let me take a bite of this birria taco on my way back. I took a bite and saw heaven!!! I had to pull over, I didn't even dip in the consome yet and the birria taco was THE BEST BIRRIA TACO! I cracked into that consome and it was a wrap... I had passed this place many times and figured it was time to try it, now that my usual place is nonexistent. I thought it was cool that the place had their own bar and they had art on every wall. I ordered a few things to try out. To start I tried the corn fritters. They had a corn mixture and some peppers, I believe, and came with a spicy cheese sauce of sorts. They were very flavorful and the sauce paired well. Definitely something I would get again. I also tried the short rib, fish, and shrimp taco. The short rib was definitely my favorite. It was very flavorful and they gave a good amount of meat. Next time I will need to try the birria tacos to see the difference. The fish taco was my second favorite. The fish was good and it had a slaw on top, which I usually love anyhow. The shrimp taco was also good, but I personally wished it had just a mango salsa instead of more tomato to really bring out some sweetness. I got flour tortillas for all of them, which were okay, but definitely not made in house. I am curious if they make the corn ones in house or if they are better. It wasn't that they were bad, but I think a homemade tortilla could really amp them up and be more worth the price. The staff was kind and did well explaining the dishes. They also opened the soda, which was great, seeing as I needed a bottle opener for it. Overall the food was great and I look forward to trying some other stuff. read more

DELICIOUS food and OUTSTANDING service!! I got the birria tacos with the consomé and it was probably one of the best tacos I've ever had. So crispy and crunchy, and the beef was filled with juice, bursting with flavor, and had the perfect amount of cheesiness. I devoured it in mere minutes. I went in there with my friends on my high school's commitment day, and the owner noticed our college apparel and congratulated us on our achievements and gave us all student discounts! You can tell he's a genuinely kindhearted person who has a strong passion for what he does. But the best part was that towards the end of us finishing up our meal, he came out and brought us FREE fried Oreos and their signature funnel cake for an extra celebratory congratulations!! It was SUCH a kind gesture and I appreciate it so much! I came here on a Thursday night with a few coworkers. It is a fast casual spot with plenty of seats and a constant flow of people, eating, getting take out and deliveries! Between the five of us we got birria tacos, shrimp tacos, burritos and the birria ramen. The birria tacos were perfectly crunchy, filled with plenty of meat and cheese, topped with onions and cilantro and the dipping stew was perfect. I shared some of that dipping goodness with the rest of the table too My coworkers looooved the shrimp tacos and even the next day said they were all still thinking about their meals! I thought their special taco which was very clever basically a cheeseburger in a taco was really delicious, but the shrimp taco was under seasoned and runny knocked off two stars for that. This might be my new favorite birria spot. Everything we ate here was incredible, but my favorite were the Birria Tacos and their Fried Oreos. The Birria Tacos were so crispy on the outside, but juicy on the inside. I loved the cinnamon sugar that was on the Fried Oreos. Thank you to Tom and his staff for their amazing service. I'm still dreaming about those tacos. I can't wait to go back and try their Birria Ramen! We got the Chile Queso with tortilla chips and the Queso might have been one of the best I've ever had. We also got the Corn Fritters which were super unique and tasty. Next we're the infamous Birria Tacos, get there early to make sure they don't run out! We also tried their Mahi-mahi Fish of the Day Taco and their Carnitas Taco. They were both full of flavor. We got the Carne Asada Quesadilla, and normally I don't order this, but wow it was really good and had a bit of a kick to it! Last were the Fried Oreos, and they were fried perfectly with a thin layer of batter. Those might have been the best Fried Oreos I've ever tried. Can't wait to be back soon! I went here not really expecting too much but wow everything was so good. I had the birria taco which was amazing! All of there food was pretty good and they also have a lot of different sodas and drinks near the cash register. Something that blew my mind was that the fried Oreos they had here were lightly battered which I personally like a-lot and they add powdered sugar and cinnamon to make it like a churro. Random search and such a GEM! I was craving tacos and yelp help me find this spot. Brought the boys and wife with me to experience it. We had 2 chicken tacos and 2 steak tacos and 1 fish taco just the way they serve them not taking anything out. Ordered 2 chicken tacos with just chicken and lettuces for one of the boys and a cheese quesadilla with chicken for the other 2 boys. They weren't kidding about how cheesy and big the quesadilla are, fillings 2 people just one quesadilla. The place was big and clean, the interior design was awesome and very cool to stare at all different sayings and stickers that were posted. The lemonade was delicious, recommend it.
