The restaurant is not massive so I would recommend a reservation if you can, or you may end up needing to wait for a table (they only do dinner reservations). One thing I would want to mention is the tables are a bit close together making it a little awkward when you're getting up. We had to move our table to let the folks sitting next to us in and then again when we were leaving. I couldn't wait to try the Filthy Martini, a spring specialty cocktail, which contains both pickle AND olive juice + pickle stuffed olives and a salt and pepper rim. It was just exactly what I wanted and would come back solely for the cocktail. For dinner, I had the Yoshoku Beef Curry and it was delicious. The meat was so savory and the runny egg was a perfect add. Strongly recommend if you like Japanese curry. We cannot wait to come back to try brunch and we are also looking forward to their Dinette location downtown opening on the weekends to give that spot a try as well.

She enjoyed both. It definitely seems like it's more appointed for breakfast/brunch but I'm glad I got to try it without a long wait on the weekend.

The Pitch Salad Week (fried chicken Salad off the menu special)…read moreThe Pitch Taco/Nacho Week (Korean barbeque tacos) As well as Burger Week and Sandwich Week showings. Clustertruck gets an A+ for convenience, especially if you find yourself in a pinch for lunch or an early dinner and are located near downtown or river market. This is a pick up and delivery only joint and it is a staple when it comes to The Pitch hosting special food weeks, which is fun. It's always enjoyable when local concepts come to play and Clustertruck is as local as you can get. RIP chef Matt but his legacy lives on through yummy decent priced food (excellent priced if you catch them running a half off special). Let's start off with the tacos, the dish I ate the most recently. These were divine and were dripping I'm flavors, the sticky sweet Korean barbeque pork wasn't chewy and provided the perfect Bute of succulent meat inside the white corn taco shells. The slaw was a perfect accent to the tacos with the right level of acidity and freshness. These tacos were top notch! Now, onto the salad which wasn't your basic bed of greens. The creamy homemade dressing was stellar with tangy notes of lemon and earthy Tahini. The crispy lightly breaded fried chicken strips made this salad a bona fide meal with the additions of salty parmesan and bacon it was a near perfect combination of flavors. The burger and the sandwich aren't as fresh in my memory but I remember one being a chicken parmesan and the burger being a barbeque bacon burger. Both weren't as unique as the other two when it came to flavor profiles but, they delivered comfort. And sometimes that's all food is supposed to do- not break boundaries but provide with a warm hug. Clustertruck is a solid choice, super fast and reliable sometimes, their prices are a little steep but, you're paying for convenience and you can usually find some stellar deals! This may be a Clustertruck but it's definitely not a Cluster...well you get the rest!

That being said, it felt like I was the first and only person to ever opt for "pick-up" -- so if you're feeling awkward, and like this is some back-alley transaction instead of a fast food pickup order, you're probably in the right spot. The food was good, but the process for obtaining it {walking around confused and eventually having a delivery driver that had been staring at me, inform me I should knock on the unmarked side door in the alley} was less than ideal.

Brisket was unwrapped near our table and was dripping juices - spice rub and doneness was right on. The meat was so tender and flavorful that I didn't really need P&F's BBQ Sauce- which was also very good and a bit different from traditional KC style sauce. Pork Burnt ends aren't my favorite but these were tasty, very well spiced and were complimented well by the P&F sauce. While I thought the brisket was the star of the show, the smoked and fried chicken wings were a close second to the brisket and seemed very popular with the crowd at Discourse. When chicken is smoked well, it carries the smoky taste throughout tender and juicy meat and these were smoked well. Can't forget Discourse Brewing, I tried their Used 8 track Dortmunder Lager. I like German style lagers and pilsners and this choice well complimented P&Fs BBQ. Before finishing for the evening I had a Platinum Label "I'm a Dinosaur" Helles - it was light and not too hoppy. I'd have both again. Wednesday is Trivia Night at Discourse and while I didn't stay for it, the place was packed an hour before trivia started. All in all a great evening. If you like BBQ, Beer or trivia or want to hit a trifecta - try Discourse Brewing on a Wednesday night!

The brisket is really good, I didn't have a chance with ribs(pictures look fantastic) or burnt ends to give a more full review. The room to grow is the smoke. I wished for a stronger and more complex profile. The street/cheesy corn was incredibly refreshing.
