Wow!! Wow!! Amazing food. Staff were super friendly. Family friendly. This is a must. Go try this place. The plate presentation unbelievable. You would think you're at a Michelin 5 Star restaurant. The pricing was adequate. All the flavors on the plate blended well together. Now all I have left to say is go and give them a try. You will be amazed!'

After wanting to go for ages, I finally was able to get to Hemma Hemma. Went there on a Saturday morning around 9 AM with a friend. There were still plenty of seating which was a relief for me. I was seated right away. I wasn't very impressed with our waitress, I'll be honest because it took her a long time to come and take our drink orders. Anyway, I started with a chai latte. She made it very confusing to order because apparently their chai is green tea so there's no caffeine so in order to do that you have to order a dirty chai with the espresso and that you know obviously made the flavor less chai forward. And they only have whole milk, oat milk, and soy milk - no skim, which was disappointing for my meal companion's coffee. I'm a biscuits and gravy freak, but I decided I would branch out and I tried their breakfast burrito but I did get a biscuit on the side, so I knew for next time. The burrito was so delicious! And big. I took half of it home. The biscuit was fantastic and I look forward to trying the biscuits and gravy. My friend got their ricotta toast and it was beautiful to look at. As far as the ambience, it is an adorable space with a lot of character. It was a bit loud because they put the tables pretty close together, but for Saturday morning, it was a great vibe. I absolutely would go back because the food was great but the waitress just wasn't quite where we needed her to be because she was confusing and slow. But other than that, I want to try their dinette! But this is one of the best brunches I've had in ages.

Cue Lizzo "about damn time." It took me long enough to make my way over to Hemma Hemma though it's been on my list literally since they opened their doors. When Donna Kelce listed it as amongst her favorite spots in KC I just knew it was going to be a slam dunk and yet it STILL took me this long to make my way over. All that being said, I have a standing lunch date with a friend on my calendar and after looking at her text that simply said "Hemma Hemma?" I was so excited to give it a try. I was just coming from a meeting near the Plaza so it was a quick jaunt for me, and I was honestly surprised to find that Hemma Hemma is located in Waldo, right on Wornall. Turns out I've driven past it countless times and never even realized it. For a weekday lunch at noon I was a bit worried about parking but I was able to get a really close spot right on Wornall so don't let that deter you one bit. When you walk in it's honestly kind of perfect brunch/lunch vibes. It's sort of like a marriage of a cozy cafe and a chic home kitchen. You feel welcome and relaxed. It's an order at the counter kind of place and I had their pickle fried chicken salad (forgive me for not remembering the official name!). It was divine. I will say it was very crowded when I was in there but there were plenty of seats, mostly because they've used the space well and there is ample room for single diners to sit at a large communal table in the back, which really frees up tables for folks that are there to chat with someone. Aside from all of that the food is great, the folks working are so nice, and I can't wait to return.

Cinnamon roll was nice and warm. Masa Pancakes were my favorite. Sausage gravy in the Waldo bowl was a bit spicy, Which I like. Husband enjoyed the avacado toast. Great food! Service was on point.

Delicious! So glad to have finally tried this new restaurant in Waldo area. The chicken sandwich is one of the best in the city for sure. The salmon wrap was also good, the sauce made the wrap way better! Inside was quite quirky with bright colors and cute decor. Food was brought to our table quickly. Staff were great as well, instructing us to order then sit down to wait for food.

Finally got to try this place as it has been highly talked about and the reviews aligned well with my own experience. Since it was a Saturday, we did their brunch. Started off with the Masa pancakes, which with the cinnamon butter was a hit. Then the entrees included their breakfast burrito and their Waldo bowl. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the sauces are incredible. The only downside was that we ordered the pancakes to come out as a starter, but it all came out together, so some of the food got cold since we didn't want to mix in sweet pancakes with savory eggs.

Wow, Hemma Hemma! I don't know why it's taken me so long to try Hemma Hemma, but I'm so obsessed! First off, it's the cutest little cafe/ restaurant! It feels so cozy inside and is decorated so cute! Love the little sitting area for waiting or grabbing a coffee! The food is also amazing! I heard good things about their cinnamon rolls so had to try it and it was so soft and pillowy and served warm! And their breakfast burrito hit the spot! The aioli that came with it was a game changer- yum! I'm already looking forward to the next time!

What a gem! I've always loved Hemma Hemma for their breakfast, brunch, and lunch -- and now their new dinner menu makes me love this spot even more! The atmosphere is cozy, modern, and perfect for a relaxed night out. We started with a few beverages and shareables -- the Burrata + Tomatoes and Trio of House Dips were absolutely delicious (the beet hummus is a must-try!). For our mains, we had the Aji Verde Chicken Thighs, Herby Chicken Salad Wrap, and Yoshoku Beef Curry -- everything was so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and every dish tasted so thoughtfully made. Definitely one of my favorite KC spots -- perfect for any meal of the day! I went there for brunch with two of my friends and the decor was super cute. There is a seating area when you walk in and an area where you can order coffee and other drinks to go. There is a back room area that is decorated like a kitchen inside of a home. We shared a cinnamon roll that was good. I ordered the H-Ville Hot Chicken Sando with fries and both were good and a nice serving size. We also ordered a tequila sunrise that was good but was a little pricey. Our server was really attentive and friendly. I would return.

Super cute little place! If you're looking for some fun upscale vibes this is the place for you! I had the salmon toast which was so yummy, and aesthetically pleasing super refreshing and filling as well! I also tried the iced spiced pear matcha latte with oat milk 10/10! Not too sweet and just super Yumm! The true star of the show was the cinnamon roll, it was HUGE, so soft and warm! The icing want overly sweet, it was more like a cream cheese type icing which I loved. Ontop of all that the parking was easy! There's some out front and a small lot in the back. Also the women's restroom was very clean and even had pads and tampons available if needed. Highly reccomend going here!

A go to breakfast and brunch spot on the weekends. Delicious coffee and tasty seasonal drinks. One of the best cinnamon rolls in the city (not pictured here because we devoured before getting a pic)! Now that they are open for dinner service looking to come by later into the day to try!

I stopped by here with my sister for a late Saturday lunch/brunch. The space is absolutely adorable - super well-decorated and clean. I ordered the BEC sandwich and she had a salad. I also had to add on the ginger cookies that were covered in icing. My sandwich was delicious. The egg was souffled, resulting in a thick fluffy egg layer. The sandwich was a great size and had a ton of flavor. My sister also really enjoyed her salad. The ginger cookie was AMAZING. It reminded me of a better version of the Little Debbie Gingerbread cookies that come out around Christmas time. The cookies were soft and the icing was plentiful. I will definitely plan to stop by again on my next trip to KCMO.

I have been wanting to visit Hemma Hemma for some time now, and I'm glad I finally stopped in for breakfast! The counter to order at is right inside the door to the left. They have the menu posted on the wall, but there are some physical copies to look at as well. At the counter, there are some grab & go options, pastries, and drinks. Otherwise, you order at the counter and take your number to a table. The space isn't tiny, but I can see how it would get super busy on the weekends during peak brunch hours. There are even signs on the tables encouraging folks to turn over tables if many people are waiting. On a weekday, I had no trouble finding a table. There's a water station in the middle of the space, and all your silverware is on the table. The food came out hot and quick! I am a breakfast sandwich expert, and the BEC was solid! The scallion sauce on top was delicious but otherwise nothing super special. The whipped ricotta toast was a great slightly sweet addition to the breakfast table. Beyond the food, the vibes in Hemma Hemma are adorable, and the staff are super friendly and helpful! Can't wait to come back to try more food and maybe attend one of their cooking classes!

We started with the Mini Cheddar Biscuits to share, which come with four biscuits. They were excellent--fluffy on the inside with a slightly crispy exterior. The cheddar flavor hit first, followed by a touch of sweetness from the honey, and the combination worked really well. For my meal, I ordered the Fried Chicken, substituted the mashed potatoes for mac and cheese, and added a side of collard greens. The fried chicken was absolutely amazing, perfectly seasoned and fried. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and cheesy with a nice crunch from the breadcrumb topping. The collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. They had a great smoky flavor and were well-seasoned without being overly salty. The only downside to the experience was the service toward the end of our meal. We sat for around 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to come by so we could get drink refills and the check. We eventually had to wave them down, even though they were working right in front of us. Overall, the food was outstanding and easily made up for the minor service issue. He smiled and said half price wine! Our server was attentive, but he ordered the food all together instead of coursing it out. I should have asked for half of mine to come out early as we were sharing. The tacos were ok, good flavor, but basic presentation. The Fries were delicious, the Brussels and Cauliflower were awesome. The Hawaiian Ribeye was also good, cooked perfectly, good flavor, but the chilled cucumber salad on a warm plate was an interesting choice... We were off to a show, so we didn't have time for dessert.

Cafe Trio is most definitely a hidden gem! The inside was very elegant, quiet, and had great ambiance. The pianist was also a great add on to the experience. I note this because not a lot of restaurants will go this far to accommodate but Cafe Trio did and it was just delicious. Let me tell yall about this grilled salmon. Absolutely delicuous! It was grilled thoroughly and still kept its shape. You can tell they put a lot of attention to their dishes because I only mostly came back here for the salmon and it was even better than the first time I had it, in fact even more delicious! "Premier" isn't marketing flair - it's accurate. This is, hands down, the best raw bar in Kansas City. We arrived for our 5:15 p.m. reservation in the main dining room and were warmly greeted by Allison, our server. She struck the perfect balance - friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the meal. A great start to the evening. For two diners, we wanted to explore as much of the menu as possible. Before ordering food, we were told the signature Frozen Gin & Tonic was a must. It lived up to the reputation - bright, refreshing, and expertly balanced. The only thing that would have made it better was a slightly warmer dining room. We're big mussel fans, so we opened with the Bangs Island Mussels - and they set the bar high. A generous portion of plump mussels bathed in a white wine and roasted tomato broth that was deeply flavorful without being heavy. The toasted bread was perfect for soaking up every last bite. Simply outstanding. Next came the NOLA-Style Shrimp Gumbo. Served in a small bowl, but packed with richness and depth. Adding a touch of hot sauce brought just the right amount of heat and complexity. A standout dish. My wife - having happily overindulged in mussels and bread - opted for a lighter course: a single Maryland Crab Cake, available fried or broiled. It was almost all crab, clean and flavorful, with a satisfying crust. She couldn't finish it...so I did. When you go to a raw bar, oysters are non-negotiable. I ordered a half dozen featuring both East and West Coast varieties. Each one was pristine, briny, and fresh, and the horseradish had just the right bite. For my entrée, I chose the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp - four large prawns, each wrapped in crisp, smoky bacon. Simple, well-executed, and a strong finish to the savory courses. Dessert did not disappoint. My wife loved the Lemon Pistachio Chess Torte, while I devoured the Bourbon Apple Tart. She noted that the toasted meringue reminded her of marshmallows - a detail that made us smile. The dining room is intimate and can get noisy as it fills up. Next time, we'll likely try the patio for a different vibe. Pacing throughout the meal was spot-on, dishes came out promptly from the kitchen, and Allison's service tied everything together into a truly memorable evening. We'll definitely be back - and soon.

Gary Westmoreland, so I know a thing or two about Suburban neighborhood bars parading as Irish public houses. First things first, apologies for my long absence. After the untimely demise of my frequent dining partner Maurice (who definitely slipped and fell on his own), I just needed a break from my Yelping. #RIP #accidentshappen But, enough about me and my shenanigans. Let's talk about Conroy's. This place is sort of like a zoo without cages for the animals. After I walked in from the bright parking lot, I found myself in a dark bar full of people mostly old enough to make me feel young again. A gal with Viking hair shouted "sit wherever ya like!" from behind the bar (I think that was Conroy's version of a host). I chose a tiny little table for 2 (sigh, I was solo) amidst the crowd. I was greeted some moments later with a menu twice the size of my table. I donned my cheaters and began chapter one of the largest menu I've ever seen. The menu was resplendant with classic Irish dishes like nachos, pizza and burgers. I felt like I smelled a hint of Irish Spring soap and was whisked away to the Emerald Isle!! I kid, of course. There's plenty of fare from the land of the Leprechauns and faeries. I chose cottage pie because it seemed authentic and comforting. Even though it's been years since Maurice's tragic ACCIDENT, I still find myself needing comfort food when I'm dining solo. It was delish. I wanted to lick the rarebit it was served in clean, but the nosy man seated nearby at a large round table (by himself, mind you) kept staring at me from above what appeared to be a pint glass full of communion wine. He had a disconcertingly large head and facial features. I wasn't sure if he needed a friend or a fresh corpse for his crawlspace. Anyway, I maintained my manners and didn't clean the plate like a Beverly Hills chihuahua. I didn't try any booze on this visit because my Uber account is locked due to a disagreement with a swarthy gentleman who mistook my friendliness for an advance and yada yada. Anyhoo, I don't dare risk a dewey when I'm driving mother's Chrysler. Anyways, this place was great and the imposing, cologne-sodden Tongan boy who served me was a real sweetie pie. Special shout out to our server, Thomas! Enjoy
