Had a great lunch at The Tavern yesterday. Loved it! Excellent Bloody Mary. Try the tots. Love those tots!

For parking you can either park next-door at a closedown store or try and find street parking for Tuesday with the World Cup being on it was a little busy and the weather was so they had the sliding doors open and you could either choose to sit inside or outside on the patio. Since it was a nice light breezy 90° day most people chose to sit outside, so all the patio tables were taken. We were told we could sit anywhere and they brought us a menu as soon as we seated. Are we just walked away and brought us back two glasses and a big craft of water. She gave us a few minutes to look over the menu which I do appreciate. But when she came back, asked if we had any questions I asked her how big the kids tiny burger was she said it's like the size of a slider and it came with nothing on it, but you could add whatever you wanted. I ended up going with the tiny burger off of the kids menu adding mayonnaise, lettuce, onion, and the bacon marmalade. My coworker ordered the same and a shredding tots. Food came out in a respectable amount of time. It was hot and fresh. You can see right into the kitchen as it is an old food trailer that they have set up as the cooking area, which was really cool. The waitress was bringing out food for other patrons. We noticed the size of the burgers and we were glad that we got the tiny ones. first bite of the burger was absolutely fabulous. It was juicy just enough pink and the flavors with the bacon marmalade out of this world. I did try one of my coworkers shredding. They were fabulous also with just a hint of blue cheese mixed in with the potato. Definitely a must try and will be going back the next time. I am in town.

The menu was written on a chalk board. There were only 7 items, but we almost all found something we liked. My hamburger was fantastic! It came with cucumbers on it which was tasty. Our youngest companion ordered his hamburger with nothing on it, which is how it came. He really appreciated no "sauce". Some friends had the sausage and eggs. They really liked those too! -cooked to order. They didn't have fish 'n chips, though. My Dad wanted authentic fish 'n chips. The bartender explained that the place next door makes excellent fish n chips so we could get some there and bring it back. He said the other place was so good, they just let them go ahead and be the best. Holy cow! They were right! I don't even like fish, and I didn't dislike my taste. The best part of the pub, however, was Dobie, the pub dog. She is a sweetheart and my travel companions who were young teens really needed the attention. Dobie put up with all 3 of them hugging her and pulling at her ears, etc. She didn't go after their food either. Now, she did clearly want to partake of the fries, but she was very well behaved. Again, totally impressed with the bartender too, who was not only able to split our bill, but he remembered what we each had. Can't go wrong at this place!

So this review is coming out late because the night I was at the restaurant with my Boyfriend was the Friday night after the snowdown parade. The 1 star rating is because of the food quality. Essentially bland, frozen, re heated, poor quality food, basically the same as Dennys but less appalling. Why come here when I can get fresh made, from scratch, meals at most restaurants in town? We didn't even finish most of our food, and my Boyfriend who's meal was essentially unpalatable left hungry. I had the pasta with pesto sauce and it was just like sauce someone opened from a jar, warmed up and poured over the pasta, Bland and boring and definitely not worth the price. (P.S. pesto is crazy easy to make fresh) If you are staying at that hotel don't go to the restaurant, order a pizza, or go to town. Hell even Dennys crappy food is better then this place.

I should have driven into town. Why is no one on this patio???
