Had breakfast on 9/24/25. I'm on vacation, visiting from California. I paid my bill via Apple-pay. I told the male waiter I'd tip him cash. He left, I finished my coffee, went inside the restaurant (I dined outside) and I didn't see my male waiter. I asked a female waitress for change--I had a twenty dollar bill in my hand. She put her hands up, would not accept my cash, and said, "No, sorry, we don't have change." Wtf?? What if I paid cash for my meal? I'd have to pay exactly the amount of my bill, or have them keep the change? There is a bar inside the restaurant. There's no cash/change inside the register? Awkward and odd and it made me suspicious. Food was ok, coffee as good. Not going back. And a bit pricey for pancakes and eggs. read more

I visited Miami this past weekend and ate at The Tavern every day I was there, at first because it's right next door to my Airbnb, then because I liked the food and wait staff. My first visit, my friend and I were seated in a booth outdoors under an umbrella, it was lovely. There was a snafu as they had none of the beers we were trying to order (some backlog) so we went with a recommendation from the waitress. I also ordered a fish sandwich. The beer came out first and it was ok, but nothing I'd ordinarily order (beer snob!). I thoroughly enjoyed the fish sandwich and fries - they were well seasoned and I was very hungry. Checkout was a breeze and I'd had a good experience so the next day I went back after I'd spent some time on the beach. This day I debated between empanadas and the veggie platter. I went with the veggie platter and ended up regretting it - not because it wasn't good, but I should have gotten something more substantial. I'd tried ordering the beer from the day before but they were out! Nuts! What's going on with the drinks in Miami??? Anyway, as I decided what I wanted to drink, the waitress let me know they had some Truly's, so I went with that. Strawberry lemonade Truly is pretty good! The final day, I was seated outside. Took a while for my waiter to come out but he was apologetic and gracious. I asked for a Truly, plus ordered the beef empanadas and a side of broccolini. I got my Truly though it was strawberry kiwi or something as they'd run out of the strawberry lemonade (JEEZ). The empanadas and broccolini were excellent, it was the best meal I eaten there. I pretty much left crumbs and gratitude on those plates, lol. No regrets making The Tavern my go-to spot during my visit, and I'd certainly eat there again future visits! read more

Good food, great service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Burgers, Cuban and beverages were all quality with big portions.

It seems that one has to wait a minimum of an hour to order anything on Miami Beach, so this place follows suit. I only ordered Truffle Fries and Broccoli Rabe. They were both okay. The fries were actually bland but I dressed with up with salt and pepper. The broccoli was good. They brought out my dishes at different times, which is a major pet peeve for me. Everyone else in my party did not like their food. Definitely a one and done restaurant. read more

We stayed at the Hotel Croydon and spent quite a bit of time at the Tavern! Such a cool vibe to go along with the hotel, inside the restaurant and out on the patio. As for the service it was delightful! Our first meal was breakfast with Clare (I believe her name was), sweet and pleasurable! I can't remember our second waiter, but we stopped for a quick appy and drinks. Again super friendly! We started our second day out with breakfast again with Anthony, who we had originally met up on the rooftop offering above and beyond service, if we needed anything. So naturally, by breakfast it had felt like we had known him for a while and we had a great conversation! Lastly, Carlos was bartending our last night at the hotel and he also was great with service. I could tell he had a little mishap before closing the bar, but we tried to laugh it off and enjoy the last few minutes! Overall amazing service. As for the food, it was great. Quickly served even during a busy lunch, it wasn't an outrageous wait. I will say The Croydon Burger was amazing, perfectly cooked, a ton of food (which I was able to take half to go). We also had the avocado burger and toast, fantastic. Chicken wings were a touch salty, but good buffalo flavour! Good helping of bacon was served as a side for breakfast, not just 1-2 pieces. They played EDM. We came on a Tuesday so we definitely got a good experience because it was not busy. Went to the 'The Tavern' around lunch time mid week. There was a short wait outside and then the hostess showed us inside to wait. Our waiter quickly greeted us and explained he'd be grabbing waters, took our other drink orders, and once delivered, took our food order. His setting expectations during the rush saved from frustrations because you knew to expect. We ordered a Maui Maui sandwich, Cuban sandwich and the kids shared an order of Mac and Cheese. I really loved the Maui, it had the right seasoning and worked well with the tomato, onion, avocado and tarter sauce. The Cuban and Mac and Cheese were also fresh and homemade. My son loved the refreshing Key Lime Pie and Brownie with ice cream was also good for dessert. Our bill for three entrees, two desserts and two cans of pop was ~$84. I believe there was the auto gratuity added so keep in mind when tipping. read more

Upon reviewing this restaurant, we nearly chose to pass, as three stars does not typically indicate a premier dining experience. However, out of necessity and due to its convenient location across the street from our hotel, we decided to give it a chance. The dinner we had was exceptional, and the service was exemplary. We sat at the bar, where the bartender was attentive and highly efficient. I ordered tacos while my wife opted for pasta, both of which were nearly perfect. My Fiancé & I visited The Tavern during our stay in Miami. It was near our hotel & served breakfast until 2:00pm. There is outdoor & indoor seating. Although it was beautiful outside, there is no true social distancing on the patio. Everyone is so close, so we opted to sit inside at the bar. To our surprise there was only 1 other person dining in, so we had the opportunity to choose where we wanted to sit, so we opted for the bar. We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich and the Tavern Breakfast. Both were really good! The Croissant was super soft flaky and delicious, which is a HUGE plus for me. My Fiancé is not a pork eater, he asked to swap pork for chicken on the Tavern Breakfast and the bartender stated they only had pork options and no chicken? Sir there's chicken dishes all over the menu! He then states that he THINKS the up-charge for chicken is $5/$6 instead of checking to confirm. He also told us breakfast ended at 12 (which they advertise til 2pm) luckily the chef was standing near the bar when he told us this and told him no, we can still offer breakfast (?) Service was ok after those small hiccups, however, here's why I provided 3 stars, the bartender would continuously pull his mask down to talk to people, which dude, this defeats the purpose of wearing it! Especially being a bartender, breathing over drinks, food, and he would NOOOT stop talking. a few of the staff members wore their masks over their mouth's and not their noses and the outside seating was not limited or socially distant. Between the lies and missing the mark with the masks, the food wasn't bad, however you don't have to lie to paying customers about breakfast times, meat swaps, etc. and we can DEFINITELY hear you with your mask over your face when there are only 3 patrons in the building. read more

Went to the tavern last night to eat as we are staying at the Coryden around 8pm & I will NEVERRRR go back at night. During the day has been fine eating there but I went to the bathroom & my waitress must've thought I left while my family was there talking & didnt notice she took a half plate of a $34 meal & a full plate of my sons $24 meal he didn't eat. The waitress was newer I believe & very sweet but the manager with the ponytail that acted manly with an accent not only scolded her she was EXTREMELY RUDE to us. There are no microwaves here & she did nothing to correct the mistake except offer to remake one of the meals. I came for my 40th birthday & wont be back & according to her employees she treats them all that way. Be ware. We had a $300 bill for 4 people. Just giving fair warning read more

Already left a review on google from my breakfast but had to come back for dinner. I'll say exactly what I already said before, the food and service was fast and excellent. My server for breakfast was great and to no surprise the energy carried through to my dinner. Claire was super friendly and thorough when taking our orders, offering more options that might be better that I ended up totally agreeing with! Overall 10/10 will prob be back tomorrow read more

Quiet Monday night off the beach right by a trolley stop in mid beach. It's such a different ambiance from south beach. You can have quiet conversations and more intimate moments. The evening was cooler so we opted for the outdoor patio. Seated right away at a table with ambient lighting and perused the menu. Standard items to choose from with a decent range that could accommodate those who are looking for something light and healthy to rich and hearty. Service was attentive, polite and quick. Anthony was our server and when he told us it was only his 3rd day there we were so surprised. He didn't rush us either when he saw we were enjoying the evening. We opted for a Shirley temple (Jonny the bartender "makes the best Shirley temples!") for our daughter and a lychee martini for me. Both were delicious. For entrees we had the caprese salad, the bolognese pasta and the veggie panini. Wow the portions were big! Food was delicious and our server offered fresh cracked pepper to add to the meal. Prices were decent for this area so if you're looking for good food and warm hospitality that's not up-charged due to being in Miami come here. read more

I actually came here in July 2023, but haven't gotten around to making a review until now. I got here after the dinner rush, so we were able to be seated pretty fast. Despite my later arrival, it was pretty packed. We sat outside, but the weather was nice and they played lots of Pitbull so I loved the ambiance. The service was a little on the slower side, but the food was good so I didn't really mind. I got the mussels linguini, which was a 10/10 imo. We came here twice during my visit in Miami. This spot was not on my list to try, but since it was close by to the hotel, it was convenient. The first visit - the seafood pasta was decent, but the mojito was whack. Lack luster. But the service was good. However, on the second visit, my boyfriend ordered a steak benedict. The server brought him a steak and egg plate - that was COLD. I can tell that the server was upset with us, but I don't understand how when we did not change our mind or was being complicated.
