The server who took our order was really friendly and even let my sister order the Mac & cheese a little past 10:30pm which is the time their kitchen closes. The Mac & cheese smelled amazing and tasted really good too. The hot sauce they have at the table is vinegar based so it made the food even more tasty (as a vinegar lover). The place felt like I was in a European bar. They were on the smaller side and honestly didn't feel worth it. I also tried the chorizo empanadas, which were baked into little squares, not your traditional fried ones. They were just okay, and I didn't get much chorizo. The papas bravas were excellent, I loved the creamy sauce it came with. The mortadella and chorizo picante definitely was my favorite bite of the night. The tapas overall weren't too pricey, but portions were small. They have a decent wine list too. My husband and I went here a few weeks ago while we were in NY on a Friday after dinner for some wine. I'm really big on my fortified port wines so our server helped make some great recommendations for my palette. This is really adorable dark chic and easy to talk to Wine bar. It has a lot of vintage and old school aesthetic that they catch original which makes this place really unique. This is a great happy hour spot. We came for pre-dinner drinks and ultimately ended up getting two carafes for pretty cheap (house-chosen red & house-chosen orange). They came in cute Erlenmeyer flasks. Also grabbed a dozen oysters. These were fine-nothing special. Mignonette sauce pretty standard, hot sauce available. Maybe a bit on the smaller end. This is a great dollar oyster spot! It's so hard to find them in the city these days, but this place really has them for just $1 during happy hour. To pair, they have a $20 carafe of white or red wine. I would recommend getting there early because the place is small and fills up pretty quickly. It's a cute date spot and it feels very intimate with the close tables and candle lit atmosphere. The oysters come just stacked on a plate, which was a little strange, but it worked with the smaller tables. They don't give you the variety of sauces that usually come with oysters. Instead, they just give a simple vinegrette. The oysters were on the smaller side, but I enjoyed the taste. The service was also pretty attentive, and we were able to easily order a few rounds of oysters and wine without having to actively flag the servers down. The prices after happy hour do get pretty pricey. We got the charcuterie board, which came with 3 meats and 3 cheeses for $32. The portion size was pretty small for that small. There was maybe 2 or 3 bites of each, and it didn't come with many of the garnishes and extras that usually accompany boards like that. Overall though, I really enjoyed Ten Bells and can't wait to come back. Their happy hour lasted a good amount of time (until 7 pm) so you're really able to enjoy the oysters instead of feeling rushed. read more

The space is way too dark and not in a romantic candle-lit kinda way but rather in a grungy, dirty bathroom kinda way..
