    Complimentary monkey bread
    Ellen S.

This place is located inside The Maybourne Hotel. There is a valet parking (though it's expensive, even with it being validated). There is a public parking garage right next door if you want to try that first. Service is warm and friendly. Everyone was so nice, attentive and helpful. We were able to sit outside thanks to making reservations online the night before. It's a very relaxing, welcoming and intimate setting. Started with the complimentary monkey bread -- it is so soft and fluffy and the topping is pure deliciousness. I think it's the butterscotch topping that goes with their popular pancakes. The monkey bread was wonderful! Ordered the pancake with butterscotch and it does not disappoint. $ large, hot pancakes drenched in butterscotch and a nice big disk of butter. It also comes with maple syrup and more butter and 3 different types of jam. Very nice Got the Hobbs smoked pastrami which comes with 2 poached eggs. Very solid, hearty and filling breakfast. Wonderful sourdough toast, sauteed green and red peppers with red onions and generous slices of pastrami. Also comes with perfectly crisp baby potatoes - so good. Ordered the fruit platter as well and the pineapple was the sweetest of the fruits. The rest were less sweet and only ok as they are not really in season - raspberry, blackberry, blueberries, strawberries, apples, honeydew, watermelon and cantaloupe. They all looked pristine, but just not sweet o r ripe just yet. I assume in summer, it'd be amazing! Couldn't help it and also ordered shoestring fries and they were perfect! if you like shoestring fries, order them! Had the pear orchard matcha (light, subtle pear flavor) and oxaxan latte (robust and tasty). Tip is automatically included at 20%

The Best Parts: 1. Outside seating is beautiful. Then again, you're essentially enjoying Beverly Cañon Gardens, which is a public park so you can enjoy the atmosphere without being a patron of the restaurant. 2. Staff is very professional and nice. There were some order mistakes but because the staff was constantly checking in, all the mistakes were corrected relatively quick. The menu is expansive and I liked that during weekend brunch time, you could still order non-brunch/breakfast items. But everything just tasted o-k. Also, wish they'd swap out the chairs with regular dining chairs. Either the chairs are too high or the tables are short. You end up awkwardly hunching because the chairs and tables do not go together.

Enjoyed another visit to the Maybourne, almost all the food was on point today and service was sort of the opposite of the last time-instead of almost gracefully missing it was almost overbearing. I don't necessarily like waiters who are too chatty and familiar, and that was a bit the way it was on this visit. I enjoyed the lunch menu much better than the brunch. Steak was cooked just right. The root vegetable soup was an excellent preparation, very flavorful and I could have eaten another bowl. Tuna Nicoise nicely done with beautiful pieces of seared tuna. Veal and beef rigatoni delicious. Whole grilled branzino with a tomato jam very good too. The pris fix menu at $39 seems like a great deal, but for the steak or fish there's an upcharge of $15 or $18, so you're looking at an additional 30-50%. It's still a generous meal and well worth it. Desserts are still fine, but not beyond fine. Hazelnut Tiramisu with frangelico was nice, but maybe would benefit from some chopped nuts for more texture. The tarte tatin was a deconstructed tatin-supremely thin layers of apple cut in a perfect rectangle, served with a crispy (but not flaky) piece of puff pastry-though it was more crackery like than puff pastry, kind of strange. Served with a nice quenelle of vanilla ice cream. We all found the caramel a little too much on the burned side, quite bitter, I would hesitate to go so dark if I were cooking. Anyway, despite its flaws-minor-it's a pretty solid go to spot for a good, if not great, meals. PS...they still make the mistake of removing plates as people finish, rather than waiting until everyone is done. This lack of protocol drives me a bit crazy, as you'll see it in other reviews, but it seems to be (sadly) the modus operandi everywhere.

The apple tart was great!! There's no crust but it's the right amount of sweetness. The frozen vanilla soufflé I would skip. Portions good for sharing. Service is attentive. Ambiance is stunning over the holidays outdoor patio with heat lamps and holiday lights decor

Pancakes! The best I ever had!

The best Pancakes on earth! Pancakes taste like they are made with real butter, brown sugar, and vanilla. The eggs are cooked to perfection, the pastrami was tasty. The potatoes were a little dry, and the bread a little hard. Other than that, it was top! The Jasmin Tea was the most flavorful I ever had, and the lemon Matcha was very refreshing.

I took my mother and her friend for brunch at the Terrace last weekend. I wanted to do something special for them since the food at their retirement home is terrible. This was the perfect choice. The weather was ideal for sitting outside. All of the wait staff doted on us, particularly our waiter Brian who treated the ladies like royalty. They absolutely adored him. The Terrace has the most unusual croque madam. I had to take a picture of it.

Perfection! Had an early dinner before a show and sat outside on a lovely spring day. Vibes were high! Had an espresso martini and wine. Yummy! I had the Filet- impeccable! My cousin had the Corn Agnolottie and she liked it. I'd eat there any day! I wish I remember our servers name because he was delightful. She attentive and helpful and kind.

Stellar brunch ambiance in a peaceful courtyard! Great for a get together with friends or family. Service is kind and attentive. Food is above average and they offer sweet complimentary maki bread to start. The corn pasta, huevos rancheros, and classic terrace burger were delicious!

Everything about The Terrace at the Maybourne Hotel was fantastic on my recent visit. You can sit inside or outside. We chose outside as it was a beautiful evening, and the seating area is situated in a green park-like area surrounded by trees. Our server David could not have been more professional, helpful or friendly. He answered all our questions about the menu and the cocktails and helped us decide what to order. Everything we had was outstanding. The beet salad was a work of art, with golden, red and rainbow beets beautifully presented along with dates and walnuts. The whole branzino was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, and served with a grilled lemon. The duck was some of the best we've had, not fatty or greasy but rather plump and meaty. The old fashioned cocktail was made with pandan, which is a SE Asian leaf. The pandan gave it a unique flavor. I love the use of unusual ingredients. The Terrace is worth the splurge, and I will definitely be back to try the scallops and other menu items.

corn agnolotti with black truffle lamb chops
    Jeslyn L.

We ordered the corn agnolotti and grilled lambchops. The corn agnolotti was really enjoyable; it had strong hints of corn and the sauce was sweet and savory. The meat of the lambchops was grilled perfectly. We thought it was a bit raw and asked for them to cook it a bit longer which they were willing to do. The seating outside is also really nice, which is a great place to enjoy. Would definitely return for brunch menu!

I can't begin to tell you what an amazing and delicious brunch experience. We enjoyed yesterday at The Terrace. Every single item that we ordered was amazingly delicious. The most unique item on the menu is there rendition of hashbrowns, which were deliciously fried and mixed with quinoa amongst other ingredients. The butter itself is different from any other restaurant I've been to in Los Angeles. The gym is a special French Preserve that is unparalleled. Sitting outside allowed us to enjoy the beautiful weather in the Beverly Hills area and our server was incredibly informative and available. Definitely going back here, hope to see you ! You can thank me later.

The ambiance is pleasant and the service was professional and attentive albeit a little cold. Between my friend and I we tried almost all options on the dineLA menu. To start we chose the Beet and Burrata Salad and Honeynut Squash Agnolotti. The Beet and Burrata had a lovely presentation with a colorful honeycomb overlay. The flavors of both were fine. The Agnolotti was light enough to be a starter and the Salad was bright and well balanced. For course 2 we opted for Duck a L'Orange and Slow Braised Bone-in Short rib. The Short rib was solid - well cooked and seasoned, and so fun to pull out that big bone. The Duck was also well cooked, but the lighter flavor was over shadowed after having some of the short rib. Finally for desert we chose the Cherry on Top and Popcorn Crème Brûlée. I love popcorn so I was very excited to try it but it fell a little flat, it ended up tasting a bit like burnt kettle corn. The Cherry on Top was a surprise and a delight. I don't think I would have ordered it if it wasn't part of the courses and I'm glad we did. It was whimsical, light, and yummy. There is street parking but also valet for $15.

However, no photos allowed and I respected the rules of the restaurant. So let me have my words do the photographic build up for Olivetta. We were headed to valet ($20) and somehow lucked into getting one of the very few parking spots right out front, score. We were warmly greeted and walked to our reservation immediately, walking by a rowdy gen x party at the bar adorned in cowboy hats & wanna-be influencers at nearly every table. It's so pretty inside, each room a little different but equally awe inspiring. I loved the vibe and my seat was perfectly placed in front of a giant mirror. My avoidant self did not have to view my reflection, but rather it was like a TV showing me all the hustle and bustle of the restaurant as diners shuffled back and forth to their seats. Watching the crowd was fun. Classy, range of ages, range of demographics but everyone is LA cool. You can be who you want here and Olivetta exemplifies that under their beautiful exterior. We had a perfect server by the way, very friendly and gave just the right level of service, not too much, not too little, just what I like, like I'm Goldilocks of Yelp LA Dining. We started with the squash blossoms, maybe regrettably so, as we had a hard time choosing an app. I'll try something else next time as they underwhelmed me. A nice crisp on the flowers but the stems were a bit much and I just found this dish to be aiight. Now the pastas I absolutely loved. We tried two and just adored them both. I was actually surprised at how good the portions were for such a classy, cute place. The Creste di Gallo was a sensation for the eyes and mouth, with a fun tableside creation of this dish. There's a generous shaving of cheese and delectable bone marrow in the dish, really great flavor and consistency. The Agnolotti was equally, if not even more, creamy and delicious. I was so full but could not stop eating this rich sauce over sage cream sauce and dried sage leaves. The roasted carrots were a nice accompaniment with our meal over a puffed feta bed sprinkled generously with pistachio and dill. Despite being full, we were still able to get through about half of the Chocolate Olive Oil Cake which was fluffy and soft with a chocolate ganache to pour over the top. I wouldn't have minded if this came with gelato or ice cream, just a tad but it was still a solid dessert. I do wish they had some non-alcoholic items like hot tea or coffee or espresso to go with dessert, they only had alcoholic offerings. Prior to beginning dinner, we did order some drinks. They had 3 Mocktails on their menu and were out of 1, so my friend and I ordered the only 2 mocktails ($16 a pop) options on offer. We found them okay - just fine, but wished they were excellent or more NA options were available & more care was intended for those of us who are Cali sober. Other than drinks though, I absolutely loved Olivetta. I'll absolutely be back to try more on the menu and I'm sitting here craving the Agnolotti, omggggggg it was so bomb. I def will be copping that dish again.

When the original iteration of this extravagant tasting menu restaurant debuted in 2018 in the back of the SLS Hotel, it was a stunner from day one. Now, a pandemic intermission and a relocation to West Hollywood later, Somni 2.0 operates on an even higher level. Somni is not only the most expensive restaurant in Los Angeles, it's also one of the most expensive in the country. The tasting menu starts at $745 actually, you're dealing with a meal that can cost as much as a family trip to legoland. Somni makes it clear from the first of 20-plus courses where your money is going. As you're led into a tree-draped courtyard outside the converted bungalow where the restaurant is housed (it used to be a Donna Karan store), the night begins with a champagne flute of frothed-up mandarin juice and a spread of carnival-coded snacks: popcorn-flavored leaves, a feather made of parmesan, and a big trompe l'oeil almond shell that cracks under your teeth like candy. Somni's chef cooked under José Andres and came up in the tongue-in-cheek school of fine dining made famous by Spain's El Bulli--so whimsy-heavy dishes like a cartoonish mushroom sandwich boosted with truffle, or a sashimi-like sardine tart on an oversized goldfish cracker are par for the course. But Somni's Spanish-leaning creations never sacrifice deliciousness for cleverness. An obscenely generous mound of caviar over a dissolving puff of dashi-flavored meringue is so delicious that all you can do is sigh. Beef tartare is delicately stuffed inside a tempura shiso leaf that's fried so it inflates like a crab shell, all but defying physics. A fair number of dishes use foams and flowers at Somni, but there's nothing dainty about the flavors here. The food is only half of what you'll remember, though. The dining room's 14 seats gently curve around a long kitchen counter like front-row seats to a play. The servers are cooks and vice versa. Many of them wear Secret Service earpieces. There's a natural choreography to how they breeze around the room, but no moment in the three-hour production comes across rehearsed for someone that's paralyzed. That's great news A beverage pairing is required Even if you choose the most inexpensive option-- over 100 Still, if you're willing to make the investment, Somni does not disappoint. A meal at this theatrical tasting menu spot is nothing short of incredible--just know it's incredibly expensive, too.

My wife wore a stunning dress. Me - in a long sleeve, khakis, and dress shoes. I recommend, for male guests, to dress better than I did. Definitely a jacket. The experience starts with warm, friendly smiles as you enter through the door. From there, you will be taken to the outdoor patio area, where tables, seats, hanging decor, and IG picturesque trees await. It's a start to what will be a wonderful experience. Then you will be taken indoors. Inside there is seating for 14. Seating is styled like a curved line. Two sides. You will face the Chef and his team. Plating will take place in front of you, and then taken to each person with synchronized style and grace. I felt like I was watching a conductor conduct a culinary symphony with his orchestra. Food? Unbelievable. Beautiful, creative, and complex. Look at the photos. The dedication it takes to dream of a deconstructed pizza and rebuilt by gastronomy, then executed with precision. And devoured by a few quick mouthfuls, yet fully savored. Service is rhythmic, synchronized, and attentive. Rhythmic because there is a pace, a rhythm set by the courses. Synchronized because the staff work in unison. Attentive because they feel and respond to the pulse of each guest. The wine pairing? Spot on. Team member Caroline did an excellent job here. Even when stuffed to the brim, I would not let a single drop of wine go to waste. No way, down the hatch it goes. On that note, get a rideshare or taxi. Last, Chef Zabala. His passion and dedication are noteworthy. To invent his dishes, to make them, to perfect them, and then to serve them. I can only imagine how much behind-the-scenes work it takes. An artist, a culinary magician, and a dedicated master to his craft. Thank you!

Comforting, healthy, and hearty! The salad is by far the major reason I keep coming back. The dill, fresh tomato slices, salty onion, and cucumber with a little zest is so tasty and again super healthy! The pelmeni and tabaka are classics you can never go wrong with. The pelmeni also reminds me of Chinese pork dumplings and are absolutely delicious with their fresh sour cream dipping sauce. Our recent visit, we were sat on the exterior part of their restaurant and it was a bit chilly and windy so the owner provided me and my partner blankets! How sweet and thoughtful. Service is super friendly, just be mindful that it can be a little slow occasionally depending on reserved parties that day.

Today, however, I went with one of their signature items--chicken blintzes in porcini mushroom sauce. The dish was simply incredible, the baked crepe covered in cheese, the meat filling delicious, super tender, just melting in your mouth. Especially when you dip a piece of the blintzes into the mushrooms sauce, it's a homerun. Plethora of flavors all working beautifully together to give you that "Oh Woooow" feeling of satisfaction. Definitely a must try here. The design here is rustic, old school Ukrainian-Russian, with a lot of wood finishes. The customer service here is consistently amazing. Will definitely be back again!

The show was interesting and entertaining as well! Our server Gayane was very attentive and friendly, always checking on us, and maintaining a clean table. If you are party of 6 and/or more, they offer a set menu with a different price range ($135, $175, $250 p/p). Since we were only party of 2 we had to order from a menu. Cheese platter, salmon carpaccio, vinaigrette salad, wague beef, & bronzino. A manager or the owner came to our table with a plate of lamb chops, as a token of appreciation, that was very sweet-thank you! Everything was delicious, however, if you really hungry the portions are small, it won't satisfy you. We had a big lunch earlier, so we felt great with it. Another great touch was, they have a photographer that goes around the whole evening, and takes pictures of the guests. Within few minutes you get an offer of purchasing your pic in a nice frame for $20 (a fare price in my opinion). Even though we didn't need all 3 pics of us, we still purchased them all in support of the photographer's business. In all, yes it's pricey, and adds up quickly, but absolutely worth it! We will be back. I highly recommend this restaurant for a birthday celebration, or even if you just want a special evening with your significant one.

Around 1am, their sound system stopped working, and instead of resolving it promptly, they struggled with it for over 30 minutes with no clear communication or urgency. We understand that technical issues can happen, but what matters is how they're handled. There was no meaningful update, no contingency plan, and no effort to accommodate guests who specifically came for the music. After waiting half an hour with nothing happening, we had no choice but to leave. Never returning, the sound system is not that complicated, get your things together, Romanov!!

I'm a big fan of the QR code ordering system. No waiting around or trying to flag someone down when you're ready for another coffee or want to add something to your order. At this point, I've probably worked my way through half the menu, and I honestly haven't had a bad meal here. Parking can be a little annoying, but that's the Valley for you. Wait times can vary depending on when you go. Most of the time, a party of two is seated within 10 to 15 minutes, but occasionally it's immediate. Great food, a laid back atmosphere, and a spot I'll keep coming back to for years to come.

Thankfully I am tech savvy because I was feeling too lazy to go back to the host stand! The online ordering process is simple and we were thankful for a few vegan options (although more would have been great!). We got the Vegan Tofu Tostada and the Vegan Tex Mex Tofu Scramble. I particularly enjoyed the tofu scramble more for having more spices and seasonings but both were hearty, filling and enjoyable to eat. The potatoes were also tasty but on the heavier side! I got the lavender latte with oat milk which tasted great and was very rich and creamy with an earthy flavor and a subtle sweetness. The ambiance was nice but it definitely felt tight eating there. The seats were comfy but it was noisy! The service was friendly but it felt very slow and not quite attentive enough. I do like the option of dining outside, but it was on the chillier side, so we chose to dine inside! Parking is also very easy in the surrounding neighborhood, with plenty of free parking!
