This is my second time here, I decided to spend my birthday at this restaurant and one thing can really change the night .. Spent nearly $400 here expecting a quality dining experience, but was really disappointed with how an issue with our food was handled. Our crab cakes arrived lukewarm with parts that were cold in the center. When we politely brought it to the server's attention, instead of preparing a fresh order, the same crab cakes were taken back, reheated, and returned to us on the same plate. Not only did this completely ruin the texture of the crab cakes, but it also didn't feel sanitary or appropriate for a restaurant at this price point. For a bill this expensive, I expected better service&better food quality control. The most frustrating part was feeling like our concern wasn't really acknowledged. A fresh replacement would have been the proper response. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the prices or the standard the restaurant presents itself as having. Table Side Greek Salad was good needed more cheese and a very little more dressing 7/10, Wagyu Steaks were great, Steak Sauce was phenomenal, sides were fantastic (Brussel Sprouts-Mac & Cheese & Onion Rings) Beignets were good, pot de crème 10/10. My only advice is don't charge an additional amount for Truffle Butter when the establishment didn't fix the steak properly in the first place. We will go back for the Burger. I've been to Baltaire a few times before but only for brunch, and this was the first time I have come by for dinner and it was absolutely incredible! On a limb, me and my girlfriends decided to have a Friday night out and steak and potatoes were what everyone was craving. All of us have had Voltaire on our radar for dinner and haven't been there before to indulge in their amazing steak options as well as side dishes On a Friday night it was definitely buzzing at the bar, and our reservation was at 6:30 p.m. but soon the restaurant started to fill with seated patrons. You ordered an array of the side dishes and two different steak options... And everything was absolutely delicious. The highlight items for me were the petite filet trio, loaded baked potato and the banana foster dessert. Voltaire has a corkage fee which was really kind, and one of our friends brought a very rare vintage wine to pair with dinner but we also ordered a couple rounds of cocktails which all of those were also another way to make the dinner unforgettable. A friend and I had been dying to check out the DJ brunch for over a year, and we finally went yesterday. We had an excellent time from start to finish! For starters, the restaurant is gorgeous. We were seated inside in the upper area, which I actually preferred to the area on the left. Service was also impeccable. We were even given small frozen Paloma shots to start! You get SO MUCH FOOD. The $89 prix fixe includes a large variety of starters and your choice of an entree. We also added on caviar bumps and I did the Bloody Mary cart (how could I not?). The Bloody Mary was delicious, so were all of the starters, especially the salmon and zucchini bread. And the caviar bumps were amazing! We then wanted the whole experience so we ordered the bloody mary and cinnamon roll carts as well (additional charges). As entertaining as it was, I don't consider myself a bloody mary person so probably wouldn't get again but my friend enjoyed it. Saw a post for Baltaire on social media and knew I had to go with my girlfriends once I saw good champagne and cavier (my love language). Parking was a nightmare, I would say opt to valet if you can. Finding a spot nearby that isn't $40 without a validation is unheard of and street parking availability is rare. Ambiance is so clean and nice and service was great. I was back and forth between giving a 2 or a 3 rating, but I settled on a 2. So we went for the Sunday brunch. I'll start with that the dj and the service were absolutely wonderful. Music was great. Waiters and servers were so attentive and lovely. However, the food was a let down surprisingly! I got the prime filet Benedict. The quality was great, but the flavor was lacking. I've never asked for salt to sprinkle on my food but I needed it for this. The potatoes and steak were cooked well but didn't have any taste. We ordered the deviled eggs off menu which was so whatever. For $30 I expected more than 3 deviled eggs. My family tried other dishes and no one was wowed. We also ordered the cinnamon roll at the end and it was dry and tasted a bit old. The frosting was delicious though. Also there should be a dress code. Like is it formal or casual? My husband and I went to Baltaire on July 15, 2026 for our wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect. I had notified the restaurant of our anniversary beforehand and they acknowledged it. Once there, every staff member who we encountered wished us a Happy Anniversary. And they gave us a card! The ambiance was pretty and comfortable. The food was great. However, I didn't like the chilaquiles. Only the steak portion of it was good, but the tortillas were terrible. I've been to Mexico City, and have had this dish numerous times for breakfast. We had dinner at Baltaire last night with another couple to celebrate our anniversary and a birthday. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. I always marvel at how pretty Baltaire is inside. The bar was jam-packed with people and the live music made it so loud that we were basically screaming across the table to each other. I seriously felt like I was getting laryngitis when we left. Other than that, the rest of our experience was A+. We started with Belvedere Martinis which were freezing cold, strong, and accompanied by tons of blue cheese and regular olives. We enjoyed the hot bread and salted butter before our salads and soup arrived. One of us had the French Onion Soup with aged Comte and parmigiano reggiano and it was delicious! Two of us had the Little Gem Caesar with olive oil dressing and parmigiano reggiano. We also had the Organic Iceberg Wedge Salad with Chino Valley egg, bacon lardons, red onion., and blue cheese with a yummy blue cheese dressing. From the raw bar, we had the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with the horseradish signature cocktail sauce which was 3 very large, plump shrimp. We enjoyed the Pan-Roasted Salmon with English Pea Risotto, and a citrus beurre blanc. Two of us had the Broiled Sonoma Lamb Chops with Chimichurri. Unfortunately, we had to send back the Half Roasted Mary's Chicken because it was incredibly dry. Our server was very accommodating about this. We also enjoyed the Onion Ring Tower with Tahini Ranch and Parmigiano and the Brussels Sprouts with Thai Chili and peanuts. It took about 30 mins after we were done with our appetizers to get the mains. The actual entrees were fine. The burger was way way too salty. I got the crab salad and there wasn't a whole lot of flavor to it. The prime Benedict was delicious though. It took about another 30 mins after we finished eating for our cinnamon roll to come out. It came in a cute cart just as our champagne and Bloody Mary did. I thought the cinnamon roll was just ok but nothing special. The next appetizer was an amazing Whipped Feta garnished with pomegranate and a plate of warm Blini's, Crème Fraîche and Lox. Our last appetizer was an assortment of dips like Baba Ghanous, Hummus and Labneh and all were delicious. I chose the Prime Filet with eggs for my main entree which was served with mini while potatoes. My steak was cooked perfectly, my eggs were also scrambled to perfection and I was extremely satisfied with my meal. My girlfriend ordered the Wagyu burger which comes with fries and she loved it. Lastly, the real reason why I chose this restaurant is for that infamous Cinnamon Roll. It's glazed with the most amazing icing right in front of you and topped with fresh cinnamon and plated for you. It was moist, not too sweet on the icing and it was 10/10 for me. Baltaire is a steakhouse located in Brentwood that I think is most memorable for its atmosphere. It's a really large space and it looks like it would be a good place to meet for a date or meet up with a friend. It's dimly lit, and there's trees and plants scattered throughout the restaurant. Unfortunately, their food wasn't quite as memorable. And since you are paying steakhouse prices I think you expect to be served delicious food at the end of the day. Their bread basket was stale so I took one bite of the plain white bread they served and I had had enough. Their salmon crispy rice wasn't so crispy and just didn't have any stand out flavors, it tasted pretty bland. What they did do well was the steak. I tried their porterhouse steak and that came out delicious, and was enough to feed about 4 of us although I probably could have eaten about half of it myself since it was by far what I enjoyed the most. Their service was decent for the most part although our waitress had some difficulties splitting the check among a few of us. We ended up figuring it out in the end but I could tell she was getting frustrated and was not sure what to do. Of their desserts, I did enjoy their caramel mousse, but even that tasted a little grainy. So disappointed in their "famous" brunch. I suspect they pay influencers to promote it because it did not live up to hype at all. Been wanting to check it out for a long time. Finally made it and left a little shocked. 1. Apps for the table were some of the saddest dishes I've seen. Citrus salad had 5 thin slices of various orange varieties. Thats it. The hummus and other dips were like dishes someone would serve at a house warming. Mixed veggies, crackers and dips in all forms. Zucchini bread which I normally love tasted store bought. 2. Dj and vibe were decent when we walked in but nothing spectacular. Music was subpar. No interaction. 3. Food took forever to come and by the time it did, it was all cold. And one of our group was left without her salad while we all got our dishes. It did not come for another 20 mins after ours were served. They did apologize and comp one charge. But the experience couldn't be saved. 4. Overall service was lacking. We were always looking for a server, anyone to assist. After she came by initially for drinks, she did not come by until much later after apps were served. I meanwhile was waiting to place more drink orders. 5. Wine sommelier placed our rose bottle in a small bucket with hardly any ice in it and along with various other bottles. So it was not cold and not going to get cold since there was no room for it to get any ice. Who wants warm rose? I told him to place it in its own bucket to keep it cold. That was never done. Everything was impeccable. From the moment you drive up to the valet, yes, it is great there is valet, why? Do you really want to look for parking in LA before an amazing brunch? You are coming to an exquisite place for brunch, start off your experience right with valet. So....have some cash with you so you can tip the valet after you pay for it when you are ready to leave (you can pay for your valet using a card, but have some cash for them for a tip). The welcoming entrance leads through large wooden doors and we are greeted by a hostess you takes our name for our reservation. We are seated in a waiting area to the right of the huge bar, while listening to fantastic music by Cotrell the DJ. We are approached a few minutes later (because we were early for our reservation) to our table. Here are highlights (also there are no low lights at all, just a succession of highlights after highlights) 1. Our server Jesse is professional, easy to understand, pleasant and attentive. 2. There is a crew of staff that come and go without making a sound, and gently placing items on the table, from filling cups with water, changing out our white cloth napkins with black ones (because many of us are wearing black and white would leave lint), and offering us with a welcome drink. 3. Jesse and his team of servers, place several plates of freshly baked warm zucchini bread, salmon (with giant capers, tomatoes, cucumbers, cream cheese and blinis), toasted herb pita with hummus and lebneh on our table. 4. We only needed to ask ONE time for anything. Because they remembered and communicated with each other to make sure it was brought out, from coffee, to hot water, extra napkins, etc. 5. Remember I said there was amazing music played by Cotrell? Well, the music was perfect, it was a mix of 70's, 80's, 90's and current jams mixed perfectly and it was at just the right volume. The music fit the vibe of the establishment. 6. The entire restaurant feels like one giant room, with beautiful décor and luxurious wood everywhere. Although we did not drink alcohol, we could observe just some of the best looking mixed drinks being brought out to tables around us. 7. At our table several of us got the "Caviar bumps," which was a fun experience. They did not go cheap and placed a large dallop of caviar on the soft part of hand between the thumb and forefinger, and you are supposed to shoot it, or take the "bump." Super fun and a "must" do experience. I will go back and order to caviar service in the future. 8. There was a beautiful table side bloody Mary bar, and although again, we did not drink alcohol, we could see how awesome the presentation was with the cart rolling around. 9. Our entrées were all beautifully presented and plated. ALL the food was brought out at the same time by several staff, and no one was waiting for their meal. 10. At the end of our meal, they brought out the table side cinnamon bun. Ideally you would request this when making a reservation or possibly right when you get seated because it is baked fresh to order. The cinnamon bun will easily feed a table of 5-8 people. This may have been the most delicious cinnamon bun I have ever had. The bun itself was not too sweet and just enough cinnamon. The frosting was not too sweet and just the right amount of cream cheese. 11. The bathrooms were clean, smelled fresh, and appeared to be refreshed/cleaned often. Everything was amazing, 5 stars, 10 out of 10. Boltaire is not just food. It is not just something you do. Boltaire is something you experience, and if you are lucky you get to do it more than once and with great company. Reservations are a must. Dress to impress. Have cash for tips. I took my friend for her birthday brunch at Baltaire today. We walked in and were met by a rather unfriendly hostess. No smile in sight. I had texted the restaurant earlier asking if we could get a candle in their famous cinnamon roll to wish my friend a happy birthday. I didn't receive a response, so I quickly asked the hostess while my friend walked to our table. The hostess huffily replied, "We'll try, but I can't guarantee anything." Her unpleasant attitude made me question my choice of restaurants, but luckily, the rest of the brunch went much better. Our server, Alberto was so warm and welcoming, as was the rest of the waitstaff. The food was INCREDIBLE. We started with some caviar bumps, which were fun. The shared dishes were delicious, especially the citrus salad, lox blinis and that heavenly zucchini bread with honey butter. For our mains, we ordered: Maine Lobster Omelette Carne Asada Chilaquiles Both were great, especially the omelette, which was perfectly cooked. The lobster was so tender. The Bloody Mary cart was not only fun to watch, but one of the best Bloody Marys I've ever had. Lastly, the cinnamon roll was TO DIE FOR. Warm, fluffy and the whipped cream cheese frosting had just the right amount of sweetness. Our cinnamon roll had a birthday candle, and Alberto even brought my friend a signed birthday card from the restaurant.
