on my top 10 restaurants!! have nothing to complain about. every dish we got, AMAZING. service was IMPECCABLE. loved how half the restaurant had dim romantic lighting & the other half was more natural light.

I've been to Baltaire a few times before but only for brunch, and this was the first time I have come by for dinner and it was absolutely incredible! On a limb, me and my girlfriends decided to have a Friday night out and steak and potatoes were what everyone was craving. All of us have had Voltaire on our radar for dinner and haven't been there before to indulge in their amazing steak options as well as side dishes On a Friday night it was definitely buzzing at the bar, and our reservation was at 6:30 p.m. but soon the restaurant started to fill with seated patrons. You ordered an array of the side dishes and two different steak options... And everything was absolutely delicious. The highlight items for me were the petite filet trio, loaded baked potato and the banana foster dessert. Voltaire has a corkage fee which was really kind, and one of our friends brought a very rare vintage wine to pair with dinner but we also ordered a couple rounds of cocktails which all of those were also another way to make the dinner unforgettable. The ambiance was romantic, moody, and yet had a really lively atmosphere with other groups of folks as well as people on date nights. Service was attentive, friendly and extremely professional. The experience was 10/10 and can't wait to go back!

Wow! What a fantastic meal! Went for our dear old friend's birthday party! Everything was delicious and service was terrific! Thanks Danielle for being our server!

Baltaire is definitely a vibe. Upscale and luxurious! We went for the DJ brunch and ate to our hearts desire: it's pre fixe $95. A lot of food so bring your appetite. We took advantage of the Bloody Mary cart (for an additional charge). It was decadent with all the fixings! We had a spread of shareable plates and then each of us picked a main. Big portions! Our waitress surprised us at the end with the most delicious dessert. I have to say that service was exceptional. Would love to return for dinner. They also had a huge cinnamon bun made to order which looked so good.. maybe next time! We ordered steak and eggs, filet Benedict and crab salad. Everyone raved about the Benedict so that's what we ordered but I have to say the muffin wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be. Valet is available and for lunch was $13.

Baltaire is one of the best brunch destinations in LA, no question. Different portions keep coming out, all tasty, all made with their own mix of ingredients, so every plate feels a little different in a good way. It's the kind of brunch where you never get bored because each dish has its own moment.

One of my friends really wanted to try their cinnamon roll so we decided to give it try. We were very excited the moment when we walked in. The restaurant's light concept is so beautiful...it felt like enjoying natural outdoor light while still staying warm and cozy inside. Our server was the best. She was very professional, polite and informative. She even offered me extra drink samples so I could choose my favorite. Their drinks were so good!!! I tried my friend's drinks as well, and they were all delicious. We then ordered caviar tray, deviled eggs and brunch courses...Everything was fine till it wasn't. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. For this beautiful restaurant I expected much better quality in the meat and the seafood, as well as stronger presentation. At one point, we were eating and laughing because we realized we had spent more than $1k mainly for the vibe. Finally we got to the main reason we came..the cinnamon roll...I appreciated the service and that's all really I can say. Overall, it may not just be for us but we did genuinely enjoy the vibe and the atmosphere.

Baltaire absolutely delivered on a chic, elevated brunch experience. From the moment you pull up, the scene is already set -- valet is $12, and inside it's giving modern luxe meets trendy LA brunch energy. They had a DJ spinning smooth vibes, which added to the stylish and lively atmosphere without being overwhelming. We opted for the pre-fixe menu, and let me just say... the Bloody Mary cart alone is enough reason to come here. A total chef's kiss moment -- fun, unique, and so well done. We also decided to go all in with caviar bumps, and honestly, no regrets. Brunch should always feel like a celebration, right? For my main, I ordered the steak and eggs. It did take a bit longer to come out than expected, but when it finally arrived, it was 100% worth the wait -- tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And listen... THE cinnamon bun. I get the hype. It's talked about for a reason -- soft, warm, and just sweet enough without being over the top. Absolutely to die for. Don't skip it. Huge shout-out to our server, Josh, who was incredibly attentive, patient, and genuinely made the experience even better. Service matters, and he nailed it. Now I need to go back for dinner because if brunch hit like this, I know dinner is going to be an experience of its own. Food: $$$$ Valet: $12 Atmosphere: Hip/Trendy/Upscale

A friend and I had been dying to check out the DJ brunch for over a year, and we finally went yesterday. We had an excellent time from start to finish! For starters, the restaurant is gorgeous. We were seated inside in the upper area, which I actually preferred to the area on the left. Service was also impeccable. We were even given small frozen Paloma shots to start! You get SO MUCH FOOD. The $89 prix fixe includes a large variety of starters and your choice of an entree. We also added on caviar bumps and I did the Bloody Mary cart (how could I not?). The Bloody Mary was delicious, so were all of the starters, especially the salmon and zucchini bread. And the caviar bumps were amazing! I got French toast as my main - it was good, but not my favorite. It was a little too eggy for me. The only thing we missed was the cinnamon roll cart. We had every intention of getting it but we were just too full. We definitely have to go back! This isn't an inexpensive brunch by any means, but it is an EXPERIENCE. Definitely one of my favorite meals in LA as of late!

very fun vibes with a live DJ. Food was good but I'll probably switch up my entree order when I return because I wasnt a fan of the prime benedict or the mahi tacos. Service was amazing. My favorite items were the zucchini bread and the salmon and blini. Overall, it was a really fun experience and I'd love to revisit.

Came here for a much needed catch up with a friend I haven't seen in a while and the DJ brunch didn't disappoint. Once you're seated, they give you these refreshing frozen paloma welcome shots. We then wanted the whole experience so we ordered the bloody mary and cinnamon roll carts as well (additional charges). As entertaining as it was, I don't consider myself a bloody mary person so probably wouldn't get again but my friend enjoyed it. The cinnamon roll I would come back for 100%z I would say the salmon appetizer and lobster omelette were my favorites of the day. One of the best multiple course meals I've had in a while and great value. I ended up finding paid street parking but recommend the $13 valet.

Loved our server , First brunch experience here . There were six of us , our indoor seating spot was awesome ! Perfect place for pictures ! Zucchini bread really good ! The dip with the pomegranate yum! That grapefruit was so good ! Espresso martinis with tequila super yummy ! That cinnamon roll cart omg very aesthetic ! Had this fish tacos it was alright ! Had a bite of my friends lobster omelette eh too much cheese or I didn't like how the cheese was blanketed on the omelette ! Baltaire is awesome for vibes and a good time ! Would I go back ? ABSOLUTELY ! Be prepared to spend

For Sunday Brunch, people start to gather 15-20 minutes before they even open. The line starts to stretch along the sidewalk 10 minutes before hand. The valet line starts to stack up too. If you're going to come for Sunday Brunch then come 15-20 minutes before hand.

The ambiance of this place for dinner is really cute! It's a nice date spot and the bar area looked really cool with a lot of people seems like a good hang out spot. The filet tasting trio was really good I loved all the sauces but the baltaire steak sauce was the best one. The drinks were good. The rest of the food people seemed to enjoy. The sashimi was delicious. I was disappointed by the lobster Mac and cheese as it did not have any flavor. The beignets were delicious. Our waitress seemed a little ditzy. She was very forgetful and seemed out of it. Either way good experience overall. If I were to come back I'd only get the filet tasting trio.

I loved my farmers market margarita, and seed smoke mezcal cocktail, they were not overly boozy, but had been made with an even blend of flavor and dressed with complimentary ingredients. The food has been enjoyable on my previous visits, which is why this last experience stood out. The food I ordered tasted great, and the beer and cocktails were excellent. Unfortunately, my friend's burger was served cold and wasn't cooked to his liking despite being specific about what condiments he could and could not consume. What disappointed me most was that our table felt rushed. From the time we sat down until the check was brought out, exactly one hour had passed. We were still enjoying ourselves and wanted to order another couple rounds of drinks, but the check arrived so quickly that it felt like we were being encouraged to wrap things up rather than continue our evening. I would've thought that was okay if the restaurant was busy, but it truly wasn't. Aside from our booth being in use, there were some people at the bar, another 2 booths occupied towards the kitchen side, and one table behind us at the corner in use, so it wasn't about them being busy. I'm hoping this was just a one-time experience because I've genuinely enjoyed my previous visits and would like to come back. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and I hope future visits feel a little more relaxed and allow guests to enjoy their time without feeling rushed to pay and leave.

In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

It's conveniently located to the LA Convention Center, Crytpo.com arena, and LA Live which makes it a must visit before or after an event! I am obsessed with their happy hour, which offers healthy items at discounted prices with generous portions! I have been here so many times throughout the years but most recently found myself here during a busy World Cup match! Regardless, the service and quality of food was not sacrificed! I was greeted as soon as I got there and the bartenders were overwhelmed but still friendly and helpful. I was so tempted to get a margarita, since theirs are amazing, but decided to keep it dry and just get their vegan nachos. I was able to score a table outside on their lovely patio, which felt secluded enough from the main street. My food was brought out quicker than I thought and I was delighted, as I was famished! The vegan nachos here are fantastic and the happy price is only $10, which is a steal for what you get! They are costed in the most magical concoction of a bean puree, cashew cheese sauce, and guacamole which all have the most creamy, luscious and savory flavors. It's so hearty and well seasoned and not only filling, but you feel great after. Parking is pretty easy, as there are usually ample meters available nearby. I cannot wait to return again soon the next time I'm in Downtown LA! I am hoping to try more of their vegan options and next time I will for sure get a drink to go along with their delicious food!

I ordered the Espresso Martini, and it tasted pretty watered down and lacked the bold coffee flavor I was hoping for. On the bright side, the food was definitely the highlight. The mussels were flavorful, the calamari was crispy and cooked well, and the fries were delicious. Those dishes really saved the experience . Overall, I'd come back for the food, but I'd probably steer clear from cocktails and order a real drink. Prank is a convenient place for dtla residents in surrounding apartments to come get some quick bites and drinks and catch a live game

Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, with authentic flavors and quality ingredients that stood out from the first bite to the last. The ambiance was welcoming and the art was tasteful. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured everything was perfect without being intrusive. We ordered the tostaditas de atún agua chile negro, beet salad, carne asada taco and Al pastor taco and watched the World Cup game. Distrito Catorce combines exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. Definitely plan on coming back to watch more World Cup games.

To be honest, I was already biased because his Smorgasburg pop-ups were consistently good. But Distrito Catorce is different , it's like art. My favorite dish was the tacos de papa with salsa macha. The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

But seating is still comfortable and not stuffy / pretentious. The food is truly above average even amongst restaurants of similar caliber. Some stand outs from the appetizers: the biscuits, served warm, so soft and buttery with the perfect spreads. The albacore spread. Their salads are actually great (this is coming from me, usually a salad hater.) The potato appetizers. Now from the entrees: I was pretty shocked by the eggs benedict popover and the bacon steak. Namely because these are generally pretty straightforward brunch dishes, but they were just so much better here than other places I've had them. I don't know what the secret is for the benedict popover - is it something they put in the benedict sauce? The way the ingredients come together? Whatever it is, it's perfect. For the bacon steak - it cut like butter, and wasn't too salty, sweet, or chewy / thick. So good! The service has also been great here each time I've come, both in a large party (10+ people) and in a small group. The food somehow still comes out when you expect it to and the staff is friendly and helpful. Reservations recommended especially for big groups!
