Somewere on their website, The Henry says they want to make you feel at home. Funny, because before I read this, my immediate reaction when I walked in the door this weekend was that it reminded me of some of the breezy upscale restaurants I grew up with at the Jersey Shore. And, Miami. And even at the marinas in San Diego, San Francisco, and Sausalito. The Henry is very large and open, yet, with all the light streaming in, the soft blues and greys keep the atmosphere sophisticated, subdued, and cool. You immediately feel the calm and these days, especially in the city, we can use a good deal of decompressing. It was almost an audible "aaaahhhhh" that my brain whispered when we sat down at our roomy booth. We were there for brunch and the menu was wonderful for me, a lifelong vegetarian. There were multiple items I wanted to try but I usually stick to an appetizer, main, dessert, and beverage. I am not a big eater at one sitting. Between us, everything we ordered was superb. The descriptions were pretty familiar, but the tastes were elevated. And the presentations were unique too -- see my photos. Michael, our server, was efficient but warm and friendly too. That makes such a difference. From beginning to end he took care of us, checking occasionally to get our enthusiastic thumbs-up, and then bringing us sturdy containers and a roomy thick shopping bag to take home the leftovers. We stuffed ourselves but still took home half of the generous portions we were given. The tab was beyond reasonable too, especially for Beverly Hills! Nice music -- not too loud, just enough to give a cheerful vibe in the background; clean appointments; quality furnishings; giant spotless windows; pretty wallcoverings; comfortable seating -- everything was just right, Goldilocks-worthy. This is the kind of place to return to again and again. Garage parking at the complex for $15 was so easy, clean surroundings in the neighborhood with some famous retail nearby for browsing, just 40 minutes from home. IOW, perfect! read more

I really wanted to love The Henry, but overall it was just okay. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the food didn't quite match the experience. We tried the pasta bolognese, mac & cheese, and filet with asparagus and a loaded potato. Everything looked fine, but for a restaurant at this price point, I expected much more in both presentation and flavor. The dishes were fairly basic and nothing really stood out or made me want to order it again. The filet was cooked well but missing a char and flavor, but the overall plate felt a little uninspired, and the pastas were missing that richness and depth of flavor I was hoping for. I've had this place on my bucket list for awhile and I'm sad to say that it was a bit of a let down. The atmosphere is really beautiful, and the service was wonderful, but the food is just way too expensive for what it is. I met up with my friend here for lunch on a Monday, and we had no problem getting a table, it wasn't too busy, and I was able to find street parking about a block down. Or you can pay $15 for the lot that's right behind it. I got the Fish Tacos and it was $30 for 2 sad little tacos and a side of quinoa rice. My friend got the harvest salad, added chicken, and a coke. For all that it was almost an $80 lunch. Insane pricing. This place is cute but not $80 cute. read more

I came to the Henry for the first time with a party of 4. The ambiance was great- I often get annoyed by brunch spots that are too Gaudy and packed, but the Henry has ample seating, space, and comfort. There is also an outside patio and bar top to further spread out the clientele. The colors are nice and neutral on the inside and it builds a very intimate dining experience. The service was a highlight for the experience. Carson was very friendly and attentive. You know the memes that show people stuffing their face and the staff come to check on them saying, "How's everything, is the food to your liking?" and they can only let out a muffled "MMHMM?" We had that experience here. The only let down we had was with some of the food. The salad and the Club sandwich were great. The wagyu burger could have used seasoning- it felt like the meat itself was not the star of the dish, but only a texture. Its flavor was not brought out. Moreover, the fries were over seasoned and felt quite salty even without any dipping sauce. I enjoy my fries with ranch but the fries were too strong for ranch and it was overpowering. The cheese for the pretzel bites were also lacking in flavor. Lastly the pot stickers could have used a bit more filling because they were literally quite flat. Went there for an event. Perfect place to meet people for a nice chat. It's upscale, but not stuffy or trendy feeling. We sat outside. Nick, our server, provided outstanding service. The main entrance is off the courtyard, not right off the street, although if you only want the bar, then there's an entrance off the street that does not lead to the restaurant. Saved you a few steps. It was a very enjoyable experience. Again, it's upscale casual, and the prices reflect it, but they aren't out of control. The signature cocktails were $19. The food was fine, portions on the smaller side, but OK. For an appetizer, we had pretzels and fondue. $18. You get plenty of them, and they were really good! Perfect for sharing. For the main course, I had the seared tuna chopped salad. $27. The dressing was perfectly light. It was a good salad. Again, the portions are not large, but the quality was good. One of my friends had the steak Diane, $61. She gave it 4 out of 5. It was perfectly cooked. She also had a scoop of ice cream. $5. Not bad for that kinda' place. They have a great payment system I've never seen. There's a QR code on the bill, and you can pay for your part of the meal, or pay for whatever you want to. It's really easy and takes the hassle out of splitting the bill, and makes it easier for the server not to have to do separate checks. Great idea! Very enjoyable experience all around. read more

This experience was like night and day compared to our last visit -- this time, everything was superb! Nick, the manager, was SUPER cool, and our server, Ariana (I hope I got her name right!), was an absolute doll and the definition of professionalism. I decided to try something different from the menu this time, and let me tell you, by the time I said, "Take a picture..." my food was gone! That's how good it was. My mother and I both had the Turkey Reuben -- hers with fries and mine with the apple kale salad. My mom even mentioned to Nick that the sweet potato fries should definitely be added to the menu! My dad ordered breakfast and wanted sausage... no sausage... BACON ONLY! Work on that, The Henry! Thanks to Larissa, we decided to give The Henry another try, and I'm so glad we did. Came in for Dine LA last Friday and honestly, I like The Henry. Walking in, I liked the vibe. Mix of business and casual but easy going. Busy, but not crazy. Upbeat but not loud. A few hours was $5 (confirmed on my statement). I don't know how much street parking is or what the restrictions are. For starters, servicew as super friendly. Checked in a good amount and somehow kept everything timed well even after the place started filling up. Don't know if it was all DineLA but as I walked out, I didn't see any empty tables inside. There's outdoor seating and there were some tables available. Started off with the short rib potstickers. These were ok. I wish they were served hotter but even so, the super tender filling had a nice flavor. I'd like to try these again but served hot. For my main, went with the Korean prime skirt steak. Rare. And it came out exactly how I asked. See pics. Rich flavor. A little sweet and a little smoky. Meat was tender and juicy. I would have enjoyed the rice more if the ingredients were diced. Again see pics. It was like I'd have this veggie chunk amongst grains of rice. I enjoyed the taste though. Almost forgot - I never just order the Dine LA offerings. Added a Caesar Salad and the Pretzels with Provolone Foundue. The salad was fresh. Standard. Not over dresssed. The Fondue was a little salty or as hot as I would have liked. This was my least liked dish. The rest was great! Including the dessert. If you're a chocoholic, this one will is a don't skip. Dense. Rich. Told myself I'd just eat half (it was cut in two) but then inhaled it all. With no regrets. Strong start to the DineLA 2026 season. Good food. We were looking for nearby restaurants that offered brunch, we came across The Henry. Metered street parking only and is a bit difficult, or at least on a weekend it is. The Henry is beautifully decorated and has a lot of potential, but the service is the worse we have had in a very long time. Our waitress took our drink order and we didn't see her again for 20 minutes. She mentioned she had too many tables sat at once. This is where management should have stepped in to help her. She took our order, a very simple salad with chicken and a breakfast scramble. FORTY minutes later we received my salad and an omelette. Who ordered the omelette?! Came here today for a business lunch and it didn't disappoint. There's a paid parking garage next door or 2 hour street parking. Our server was great and attentive. We got the short rib potstickers to start which were good and unique and then I got the wagyu cheeseburger with a fried egg and avocado and it was great. And then a Caesar salad for my side. The Henry is a very popular restaurant in the heart of Coronado It's a large, bright and open restaurant with a clean urban decor. There is even a separate coffee and pastry bar on one side. The staff is very friendly as are the customers many who seem to know each other. We were fortunate enough to find seats at the bar because the wait was almost an hour if you didn't have reservations (it was a holiday week). I had the hazelnut cappuccino which was very tasty but a lot. I had to get a to-go cup at the end. For breakfast we ordered the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast enchiladas. Both were very yummy and filling. I especially love the soft bun from the sandwich and their breakfast potatoes are so good, crispy with crisped onions. This restaurant is in a really good location. I was in Beverly Hills for the afternoon so I decided to have lunch at the Henry. It was a Friday afternoon and there was plenty of seating available. I decided to sit at the bar and was warmly greeted by the bartender. I ordered a "el carajillo" ($19) it had espresso, rum, and bruleed banana. It was delicious and loved the coffee kick. I started with the black truffle fondue ($18). The fondue was fantastic but the pretzels were a bit hard/dry. If they were softer this would have been delicious! The Henry! I absolutely love the scenery. The restaurant is decorated very well, very classy, mid upscale. Loved it cause I love taking my pictures, As you can see, lol. When I have arrived my date mentioned that there was no wait time which is a plus. We were seated immediately, and ordered our first round of drinks. The waiter was polite, and he was very attentive. With my salmon entree I paired it with the Napa Vallet Chardonnay, one of the best combos if you asked me. The salmon was well done, loved the yogurt or the white creamy sauce at the bottom. The potatoes were great, soft but firm. I fairly enjoyed my outing at this restaurant. I will come back to taste their round of oysters. Friendly staff as soon as I walked up. I chose to sit at the bar on the outside since the weather was nice for a late Sunday afternoon. Quick highlights about the restaurant itself, it's somewhere that just about anyone would want to come to. The atmosphere is chic, welcoming and spots of comfort. As for the crowd, there were families, pooches on the patio, friends gathered and the occasional pairs talking over business. The Uptown Cocktail was my drink of choice while the bartender obliged me to make it not too sweet. It was perfect. My late lunch ended up being the Harvest Bowl with grilled shrimp add on. Delicious flavor for most of it and overly grateful that the bartender offered me some Cholula to spice it up a bit. There's lots of options in this nice setting. We decided to try Henry's for brunch, & while the place is beautiful & very clean, that was honestly the highlight. We ordered the Wagyu burger, egg white turkey omelette with potatoes, & a side of bagels. The food was decent but very bland--nothing stood out, & we had to add salt for flavor to everything. Portions were small, with barely any avocado or pico, and not very filling. The bagels were good, but they gave very little cream cheese and even charged extra for more, which bad barely enough for one side of a beagle. Service was a bit disappointing. Our server was nice but It wasn't busy, yet our server rarely checked on us--we had to refill our own water & go get the pitcher. They also don't clearly mention when choosing sides it cost extra, which can add up quickly but a heads up would have been appreciated. Overall, we paid about $65 for two & left underwhelmed. It's fine for a casual hangout, but not somewhere I'd go to be impressed. I will say on a positive note, the baked goods, specifically the soft chocolate chip cookies, tasted very fresh! Picturesque ambiance with luxurious seating inside and bright comfy outdoor options as well. We came for a friends birthday and sat in a long marble table inside and were helped attentively through out! Their friendly waitress was sociable and really helped us all have a great dinner and drinks experience. The flavors of strong umami in the brussel sprouts were drenched in intense liquidy dressing over the slightly charred textured greens. Nice portion and intense flavor. Their ahi plate had good ingredients with some cut veggies/fungus was also a bit soupy. The flavor was overall underwhelming compared to the brussel sprouts but certainly still good. The tuna had nice chunks and tased like decent quality. Their cocktails were also nicely crafted with good ingredients, and plenty of quality liquor. Plenty boozy and a good range on their menu! I loved the Uptown margarita most and enjoyed the spicy and the smoked pineapple margaritas. Prices are right around what you would expect for this area of town. It's literally right across the street from The Ivy- L.A. people-watching at its best, if you're into that type of thing. The write-up on The Henry makes it sound like a fun place to watch a game after work. I called in advance to make sure that the information in the write up was accurate. I was told that they expected heavy traffic for the game and dinner service. I inquired about a reservation near the bar with a view of the game. I was informed that the "high top" tables near the screens were already booked but that I was welcomed to sit at the bar as available. Up to that point I hadn't heard anything that I wasn't prepared to hear particularly on a Friday during the World Cup so I took a chance had went there with a friend hoping to have a great time. We arrived shortly before 5pm to enjoy a bit of the happy hour menu before dinner. We were greeted and offered a table by the bar near the screens with the condition that we needed to be done by 6:30. Well that wasn't going to work because the game started at 6pm. We sat ourselves at the end of the bar about 20 feet from the two tv screens...perfect! The good: the space is beautiful. Warm pretzel bites with fondue were amazing. The garlic fries were crispy. The Sangria was delicious. The bad: bar service was minimal despite a sparse crowd at the bar. I had to reach across the bar counter to grab myself drink coasters for my Sangria, beer, water and my friend's beverage because the condensation kept dripping on my clothes. The bar tender never bothered to come back and check how my cocktail was as most bar tenders do. The fact that there were three makes it more astounding. The really bad: there was a power outage in the restaurant (not the entire block) 5 minutes before kickoff. 10-15 minutes into the game the power came back on but only one tv was functional. Early on there was a bit of a rush to rectify the matter but as time went on, it seemed to become a non-issue despite concern from those around the bar that we couldn't watch the game. No apologies were offered by management at the time. Not even water was offered a jester of good faith while they sorted out the issue. Like a few others, we decided to cut our losses and left at half time. The buzz at the bar was to meet at Lucky Strikes to finish watching the game. Prior to leaving I approached a woman who seemed concerned with the tv malfunction and asked if she was part of the management. She responded that she was and I proceeded to explain my utter disappointment in the experience. She looked profoundly distraught with my observations...At least that's what I told myself in order to not feel like this had been a complete waste of time. We left without having dinner while watching the game. What a shame because the menu sounded appealing. Oh, BTW the high top table in front of the tv was still vacant by the time we left at half time. Not sure it would've mattered because the tv was malfunctioning anyway. I am truly puzzled by what made the author of the article think that The Henry would be a great place to catch a game of any sort. Our server, the space, decor, location and menu items we tried were amazing. The overall attention to detail, attentiveness to customers and overall experience was not one that I would recommend on a Friday night during the World Cup. Loved this brunch spot in West Hollywood! I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. My friend made a reservation via OpenTable a couple days beforehand, so checking-in and getting seated was easy. Upon walking-in, I was amazed by the décor and vibe. It was like walking into a library or a study room of a movie protagonist who likes to travel. It was clean and classy, loved the vibes. We got booth seating and it was comfy and spacious. You could even seat 6 people in one. The lighting was also nice. For food, firstly we got the truffled brie toast as an appetizer to share between 3 people. It was good and flavorful! The bread was crispy, fluffy, and buttery. The toppings of brie, truffle, chive, and fruit preserve added so many different flavors that all worked well together. My only critique is the portion relative to price. For $18 we got a small sliver of bread that's only really good for 4 people to have their own piece. It was quite pricey for what you get, but I guess truffle is a premium item. Next, came the main course. I got the flower child scramble and it was pretty good. It came with an egg scramble full of veggies and some breakfast potatoes. I liked all the veggies in the egg scramble that included asparagus, kale, and mushrooms. The flavoring was good. However, I wish there was more egg and I did get a couple pieces of shell in my eggs which wasn't great. The home fries were solid, but I wish they were a bit more crispier. Finally, the butter cake was my favorite. We got it for free since it was my friend's birthday. It might be my favorite butter cake I've had to date. The cake itself was airy, fluffy, crispy and not too sweet. What really elevated it was the vanilla ice cream and hot caramel sauce. The cold and cream ice cream combined with the sweet caramel with the cake was so delicious. Additionally, my friend got an iced oat milk latte and he said it was pretty good. The service here was top tier too. Our server was so real and gave us good recommendations. We also informed her about the egg shells and she returned with a complimentary drink token which was nice. This place is a hidden gem for brunch! Only four items for breakfast, but my friend and I shared the salmon bagel and egg white with turkey omelet and they were amazing! The salmon on an everything bagel had onion with capers that complimented the salmon really well. There was a ton of flavor but the bagel wasn't doing too much either. The omelet, on the other hand, had a hollandaise dressing and avocado. The Swiss cheese tasted really sharp paired with with pico de gallo garnish and tasted really good with the turkey. I would definitely order this again. For coffee we shared The Butcher, which was a hot coffee with a splash of sweet cream and a Go North, which was a chilled coffee. Both were a good combination of creamy and not too sweet. The overall service was amazing, we were celebrating my friends birthday and the staff greeted us with a birthday card and a comped dessert. The food was delivered very quickly and our waiter was very tentative to us. We sat outside and it was so nice; there were umbrellas for shade so we were able to get some sun but we weren't too hot. We ordered the most incredible off-the-menu hamachi on crispy rice (with a truffle sauce and chili oil) which was Perfection with a capital P. My first thought was "this is better than ice cream" which my FGF scoffed at. That is until she tasted it. Do your mouth a favor and order it. It will be on the menu by spring. I had the salmon entree which was cooked to perfection and the miso glaze on the potatoes was to die for. Everything was fantastic, from the hostess, to the waitress, to the manager who checked in on us and sent us a birthday dessert on the house. Yes, dessert was good but not better than the hamachi. This location in West Hollywood has been here for some time and I haven't been back since my first time here many moons ago. We came here for my friend's birthday brunch, and I arrived before my friend did and was able to tell our waiter that it was her birthday, which he did not forget and brought her out a birthday cake with a candle, which I truly appreciated. The surprise really made her day. Our food was really good and our waiter was amazing. The reason for the four stars is that we ordered short rib potstickers, however, they were never brought to us. We did want to try the potstickers, but we were already so full from our dishes so that probably worked out that this dish didn't come out. We had a great time and enjoyed our brunch. read more
