To be fair, the lack of communication and games they play made me go with Doors of Houston and not…read morethem. I called was told that it would be around $500. I said wow and that it was only $400 to install but ok and I was sent a canned text message to my phone to send 4 pictures, measurements, and contact info. I sent them everything but didn't hear back until the next day and it was the same canned text verbiage back but they added the email address. So I sent the same thing again to the email address, 6 pictures, measurements and contact info. Crickets and tumble weeds for two days again. So I resent the email and a couple of days later finally the next day, Then finally, I get the same canned message telling me to email them 4 pictures, measurements and contact info. Now I am getting worried that all my training as a CSR at AT&T's U-verse department has gone by the way side. However, I still needed my door fixed and besides they had installed it when I first got it and I knew that they would surely stand by their install. However, they never told me what they weren't getting, me I could not tell what was the problem because it all went through without bouncing back and they would only answer in canned responses and not tell me what I might have forgotten or didn't go through my message. So after checking everything out, all looked well and it had been a week now without a front door, I sent it again. A couple of days later, i get another canned message to send them 4 pictures, measurements and contact info. So I sent it two more times from different email addresses thinking that maybe it's Google's fault. After not hearing again from them, I went back to texting them and explaining that I had not a clue as to what they weren't getting from my emails but that I knew that they were receiving them because I got the same canned messages back twice out of the six time that I sent it to them but they never took the time to tell me what was missing the pictures? measurements? Contact info? or what? So I finally get a personalized message with the following excuses, Excuse one: He texted back that they were on an emergency install. Excuse two: he texted me back to say that they get 40 text messages a day and they just get lost. Excuse three: finally a personalized email comes back saying that he was playing catch up after a family emergency but it would be $500. I don't know if he really had three different excuses but I got three after two weeks of not having a front door. I almost answered his email back to say that I was so very sorry about his family emergency and hope that everything was alright. But a friend stopped me and asked why was I apologizing, I didn't do anything wrong and like she said, at this point it did sounded like a scam. I was willing to pay the $500 estimate for a job that he said he never saw my emails because he lost my text messages, and/or was too busy to acknowledge my emails to explain what was missing because of an emergency install and/or the family emergency. Stick to one excuse and it might have been more believable. So there you have it folks, plenty of excuses and no door after two weeks made me decide that if it was a communication problem before the work started, I figure it was not going to get any better after the work started. So I called Doors Svc of Houston and they had the front door fixed by noon the next day and fixed my patio door handle while they were there too. I got two doors repaired for $300 less than The Door Guys were to fix just the one door.

The installer was super nice and gave me helpful tips for painting my door and grout repair, and moved the doorbell wires up for me so I could install a video doorbell. I am very happy with my new door, and how much it has improved the look of my townhouse.

Not only was the job not complete, but now somehow it's my fault as well as my problem. They ruined whatever credibility they had with me. So along with being unreliable and having inconsistent communication, I have to add childish, vulgar, and insulting to the list. The communication was great until it wasn't. I booked NVR Doors and Windows to come out to replace my front door. The price WAS reasonable (until I incurred additional expenses) and I was advised that they would pick up the new door and haul away the old one. A complete service was offered. An important point to include is that I live in a townhouse community and have precious little storage space. They advised that they would arrive in the morning, however, they didn't arrive until around 1:30pm. This wasn't a big deal for me as it was Saturday and I had nothing else planned for the day. The door was installed, Oscar and Arno were polite and dealt with my elderly neighbor professionally when she came over to complain. The door was installed and I was and am happy with the end result. If not for the subsequent lack of service, I would have given them a 5-star review. It turned out that they brought the "wrong truck" and couldn't haul away the old doors. They asked if I had somewhere to store them. I really didn't, and because I live in a condo I couldn't leave them out for trash. I advised that they could leave them in my storage until they could return to haul them away. I made room by putting my daughter's bike in my dining room and moving some other things into my dining room. Fast forward a month... I still have a bikes in my dining room. I reached out the following week... crickets. I reached out about 10 days later and was advised that they were out of town until the end of the month. Now it's October... I still have bikes in my dining room and have to hire someone to come haul the doors away. Ultimately, not worth the "reasonable price" since I have to pay extra to regain my storage space and dining room. I should've paid more to ensure a completed service.
