As I've gotten older, I've started investing more into caring for my skin. One of the things that have always bothered me is melasma. One of the challenging things about melasma is that you can try certain methods of lessening the severity of it but it can come back or in some instances, make it worse. I debated on doing IPL for the longest but I've been told it doesn't always work with my skin tone so I stuck to doing peels which didn't give me the results I was hoping for. I saw a webinar about the Picosure laser by the owner was sold! Vanessa did a really great job explaining what Picosure is, what it does, and who can use it. As the machine was new to TTWD, there was a promotion for a three-pack which I jumped on. The first thing was to do a virtual consult to make sure the treatment you want to do is appropriate for your skin. Once that's done, and you're given the all-clear, you can book your appointment. I've had all three of my treatments now and I've seen a different person at each appointment by chance and everyone has been super friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. I also got Botox by my eyebrows/temple area and the forehead area and I'm really happy with the results. TTWD differentiates itself from other medical spas in that they are not only a beautiful and calming space but the staff makes you feel at ease and comfortable discussing all your concerns. The Row also has free parking for the first two hours so it's a nice bonus. read more

The things we do is a company founded and ran by an all women team. This particular location is located in ROW Dtla. I came here for consultation and watched a live demonstration on Botox and acupressure. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had the privilege to speak with Aziel and Ana Maria who answered all the questions and concerns I had. I also had a tour of the facility which although was small but very clean. read more

Steff is honestly the best. She has such a gentle approach and immediately puts you at ease. She's patient, takes the time to explain everything, and never makes you feel rushed or pressured. I trust her completely because the results always look natural and thoughtful. I've recommended her to three friends and they're all obsessed now too. The Things We Do in downtown LA is honestly one of the best aesthetics spaces I've found. The team is so knowledgeable and genuinely kind, and every visit feels really thoughtful. It's not a high-volume, in-and-out place -- the care feels calm, intentional, and personal -- not rushed. You can tell they care a lot about doing things the right way. I mainly come in for Botox, Skinvive, and PRFM, and I love how subtle and natural I stay looking. It never feels like I did "too much". I just look like a more refreshed version of myself, which is exactly what I want. They really understand restraint and balance, and that's why I trust them so much. I've also started ONDA BodyTite here, which I'm really excited about. I've only done one session so far, but the technology feels incredibly promising -- and it's pretty amazing that they're the first and only practitioner in the United States to carry this machine. It makes me feel like I'm in the best possible hands. I'm just really grateful this place exists. If you're looking for care that's grounded in evidence-based practices, careful placement of injectables, and is very respectful of your natural beauty, I highly highly 10/10 recommend them. I have been going to the same provider for years but since moving to LA it has been hard to make time to see her. I found the things we do while shopping at the row and I'm beyond impressed with the services offered here. Kelly took the time to hear out my needs, made me feel comfortable and set me up with a great treatment plan. Another bonus is that there's tons of parking, including EV parking which can be hard to find in LA. read more

Jessi at The Things We Do is a terrific aesthetician with so much knowledge, technique and professionalism. I just came back after a facial and I can't stop wondering... how did I get so lucky? Getting facials can be intimidating, but Jessi had a warm and nonjudgmental energy from the moment I met her. She was attentive to my needs and carefully explained each and every step of the facial which was customized based on my needs/concerns. She made sure I felt calm and at ease before beginning the facial. Jessi was gentle, thorough and patient. I was able to fully relax the entire time. And she gave practical and useful tips for me to help maintain a healthy skin as I left. My skin is glowing and I have never felt so rejuvenated. I've been loving facials for a little bit of self care and one of my favorite places to go is The Things We Do. The DTLA location is located in the ROW with 2 hour free parking in the structure. Front staff was so friendly and welcoming upon arrival. I was quickly checked in and waited in the small waiting room where there were many skincare products to look at or purchase. My facial appointment with Aziel was top notch as she was gentle, calming, and friendly. Aziel kept me in the loop with what she was doing the entire time and did such a great job at prepping for extractions - my least favorite part of every facial - but this was the least painful experience I've ever had! Love how hydrated and bright my face was post facial. Will definitely be back! read more

I am such a huge fan of this spot and am so grateful I trusted them with my face. When starting my injectable journey, I was pretty apprehensive about finding a place I could trust. I really didn't want to look unrecognizable and overdone. Luckily TTWD was super on board with the less is more approach since they specialize in facial balancing. After a few sessions I left feeling like my facial volume and tone was back to my early 20's. My own mom didn't remark on the changes in my appearance (which was my goal). She only said I looked more rested and refreshed. Just a few subtle changes was all I needed. I love Steph who is my RN. She's wonderfully supportive and gives me her honest opinion. The rest of the staff in the clinic is also lovely. They make me feel welcome and special every time I stop by. I would recommend this place to any of my friends or family members. I'm so thrilled that I came in to The Things We Do! I've been holding off on getting any treatments done for years (5 to be exact) due to a bad filler experience with a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, but I'm so happy that I decided on moving forward with The Things We Do. I always love my results!! The front desk and staff are always so welcoming and helpful with product suggestions and any questions I have. I was struggling with acne, scarring, and uneven/textured skin. I wasn't sure which treatment I needed, but the providers are so detailed and caring, they truly had my best interest at heart. Where do I even begin! Im extremely satisfied with The things we do! The services , their staff, and what they believe in. I've had my fair share of facials and I've never been as happy with the results as I have been after leaving my facial appointment here . Vanessa really cares for her clients and REALY does believe in her services and products. She is extremely selective with her staff she has chosen to provide exceptional services and techniques . I did my facial with Aziel. Facial was not rushed and thorough. Aziel explained to me the whole process and didn't try to sell me anything as other places do. She basically did what I needed for my skin specifically. After my facial was done I had the pleasure of meeting Vanessa and she analyzed my face and gave me some recommendations, and what treat I should get next for the results I want. Had an amazing first session of Microneedling done by an amazing Registered Nurse named Marisol Rose. She explained the procedure to me and answered any questions I had. I let her know that this was the first time I've ever had any face treatment on my scars in over 10 years. I had a really bad car accident in 2011 that left me with several facial scars, and I have always been hesitant to do anything to them. Marisol made me feel at ease and the numbing cream that she applied helped me feel no pain. It felt as if I was getting a facial massage, I loved it! Went here about a week ago for the first time and saw Kelsey; I not only had a great experience but I LOVE my results. The space is beautiful, and Kelsey was so knowledgeable, warm and kind. She was thorough in her consultation, listened to what I said I wanted, and was really nurturing when I had a less-than-great reaction to the needles. I have been wanting to go to the things we do for a really long time now and finally made it. From checking in with a lovely girl at the front desk to taking my pre picture with Bree (also a sweetheart) and meeting my nurse Steph, I was sooo happy and so comfortable. I absolutely love Steph. I have had enough experience with other injectors to say she's by far the sweetest, kind, and just a guru at what she does. I am so happy with her suggestions to get threads as well as fillers for my facial balancing procedure. I am two days post op and already so in love with my results. This place is definitely pricey but it's worth every penny to get a perfectionist like Steph and sweet staff that just add the cherry at the top. Thank you girls! read more

Janet is the absolute best! I'm a huge baby with needles, especially near my face lol. She is so sweet. She created a whole plan for me leading up to my wedding, starting with a little cheek bone action, then adding a little under eye, chin and lip. Everything she does looks so natural. I had to go to someone else while she was on maternity leave and it just wasn't the same. I'll be her customer for life! read more

Pros: Such a cute office and really really friendly staff. First time getting Botox and the person who I worked with was very sweet and helped me feel comfortable. Cons: The results were not what I was expecting even after getting more units at the two week follow up. The nurse practitioner said that either different muscles need to be injected or I'm a better candidate for dysport. I waited to get Botox elsewhere before posting a review just in case it was an issue around how my body reacts to Botox. Received 10 units less at another place with more effective results. It's possible that the person I worked with at Things We Do is still working on building experience and so I should have done more research. read more

OBSESSEDDDD. Of course the interior is breathtaking (it is impossible not to snap photos here) and yes the staff is sweet, friendly and super informative! But most importantly, I was in amazing hands with Nurse Janet. I came in for botox and was curious about a few other services - of which she answered all my questions in great detail, explained how the service works and what the healing process was like and insisted I think about each one and come back when I was ready. I really appreciated that because I felt no pressure to make any rash (expensive) decisions. I got what I came for, Botox in between my brows and in the fine lines in my forehead - which Janet describes as "baby botox" because it was so subtle. I barely felt a thing!! Mrs. Vanessa Lee is literally my best kept beauty secret! I started seeing Mrs. Lee for fillers a few years back. At the time, she was working at a beauty/medical center in Chino Hills. It was a 3 hour drive for me that I took without hesitation, as I am always seeking the best of everything. I first stumbled upon Mrs. Lee on Instagram and was immediately impressed by her before and after photos, especially for the tear trough injections. This is an extremely complex and delicate area thus requiring precision and expertise from the best of the best. After achieving a less than favorable result from a prior injector, I decided to strive for perfection and make an appointment with Mrs. Lee- and I am so so glad I did! When I first saw Mrs. Lee, she also noticed that my left eye was injected incorrectly, and provided me with a plan on how to achieve my desired results. I immediately developed a liking to her confidence, patience, and honestly. From that point on, it was history! Mrs. Lee's goal (as well as the objective of The Things We Do) is not for you to leave looking like a different person- the goal is to enhance the patients' features in a natural and refreshed manner. "Balance" is a strong keyword at The Things We Do. I have followed Mrs. Lee to now, her beautiful permanent location in Downtown Los Angeles. I would honestly follow her to New York if she ever decided to move there! She has never recommended anything that I did not need. I believe the prices are very reasonable considering the outcome of the treatments. I have actually spent more for Botox at a Beverly Hills location once in which it literally only lasted for two months. I've also had the pleasure of interacting with Ruth and Ericka on multiple occasions, and they are just so kind and beautiful, inside and out. I highly recommend making an appointment to see Mrs. Lee for all your beauty desires. It is definitely worth the wait! And if you absolutely cannot wait, her amazing staff is hand-selected and also provide beautiful results from what I have seen! read more

The Things We Do is such a beautiful space, with such well thought out design that it feels more like a gallery rather than a cluttered retail area! So as soon as you walk in, you know your experience is going to be different. I hate the term "med-spa" because it has such a corny connotation-think brochures everywhere with tacky advertising, fluorescent lighting. This place offers services that would be categorized as a med-spa but they are on ANOTHER LEVEL!! It's not even fair to put them in that category!! There is so much detail and thought put into their treatments, plus they offer things I have read about but haven't tried yet like the micro infusion stamper which I have heard so many good things about! I walked by The Things We Do one morning after grabbing a coffee at paramount and my curiosity was piqued. I have been going to other places for my injectables but it was always a trek, driving deep into the west side, dealing with parking hell, etc...since I live in NELA, the Row is a quick drive for me (and they're open on sundays YES!) Vanessa the creator of this magical place does INCREDIBLE work. She makes me feel like I am "one of her homegirls" when I see her! I always leaving feeling like a more enhanced version of myself, glowing from self care. She has me set up on a beauty plan that we have set out for the year...so next visit in fall will be for a Cosmelan peel to help with my melasma and I can't wait! When I called to make an appointment and was asked for the voucher information over the phone. I found that a little odd and decided to provide that info at appointment time. I was serviced by Eva. Overall the facial and little massage of the back and arms was great. There were some moments the facial massage was a little too much pressure for the neck/face area, but I was overall pleased with the experience. Once the service was complete Eva TOLD me to leave a tip of at least 20 percent. I responded "I intended to tip anyhow because I enjoyed my service, but you cannot tell me to tip or how much." I left the tip in an envelope where all these signs about tipping are in the service room. After I returned to the reception area Eva is waiting for aggressively pointing at the tip envelope. The lady at the front desk asked how my service was. I replied" I enjoyed my service, but after being told to tip and how much in the service room and now Eva pointing at the tip envelopes I'm very annoyed. A tip is not required." At this point I wished I had left no tip at all. This was a ridiculous end to what thought would be a great experience. If your staff wants a certain amount per person then include it in the price or don't promote on Groupon. No one wants to be harassed for a tip.

During the service, everything was great until we got to extractions. After already going past 15 minutes, I was told there would be an additional $50 charge for "extra" extractions. This was not clearly disclosed beforehand, and I felt put on the spot to agree since the service was already in progress. The final total came out to $400. After the facial, I was shown "premium" products and told the total would be around $1,000, which had never been discussed. I explained that I could only afford around $500, and I was considering a selection of products within that range. However, when I asked whether one item, specifically an SPF, was necessary, the tone shifted. I was told there was no point in continuing to go over products if I was not going to purchase anything and that we "were not a good fit," to which I agree, but not because I asked questions or was unwilling to buy. As a result, I chose not to purchase anything and canceled the next appointment. I left feeling dismissed and unwelcome. As a young client still in college, I would have expected a more understanding and respectful approach rather than pressure. Overall, the lack of professionalism made this an uncomfortable experience.

I believe it was Irene herself who did the procedure: 15mins for cream anesthesia, and only few mins for actual removal of millia. She made it look easy peasy! :) I was able to see the procedure and staff helped record video of it, and we all laughed because it was like Dr.Pimplepoppers. AWWW It was so satisfying to see millia popping out like a ping pong balls. We squashed it and said ewww. lol. Spoke to a manager who said oh we certainly don't want small claims or a Yelp or Better Business Bureau and we will get back to you as soon as possible and no one ever did. I am still fighting them this need they need to go out of business. They're awful.
