I booked the appointment three months in advance because I wanted to come with my two best friends for a girls' day, and that was the earliest they could fit all three of us at the same time. Worth. The. Wait. We arrived at 9 a.m., and they asked us to use the restroom first since the VIP treatment is a full two hours. Now... let's talk about the only downside: the bathroom. It's a shared restroom in a strip-mall situation, and whew . It smelled rough. That's clearly a building maintenance issue, not the business, but trust me, use the bathroom at home before you arrive. I'd heard a lot of people say the lymphatic drainage massage was painful, but that wasn't my experience at all. There were a few tender moments, but I have a pretty high pain threshold, and even then, it wasn't bad. The most uncomfortable parts were the machine on the back of my arms and the manual extractions on my nose. Everything else? Honestly felt great. This was my first time trying dermaplaning, and I was nervous I'd accidentally start a lifelong face-shaving cycle. Kaila immediately put me at ease and explained it wouldn't happen, so I trusted her, and I'm so glad I did. My face has been glowing and feels newborn-baby soft. Not a pleasant experience at all. I was curious to try the 2 hour service as they seem to provide compressive skincare treatments. My treatment was so rough from start to finish. She used the suction machine on my arms which was so painful that I was twitching around trying not to scream in pain. That device is supposed to help relax the muscles not make feel more tense. I've had this treatment done somewhere else last month and it wasn't as painful. Also I did not like being lathered on creams which were only half cleaned and then being shoved back in the covers feeling sticky. Lastly the extractions were incredibly painful. First of all she applied the sebum liquid and left me sitting for 15 minutes while she went off somewhere else. Once she began extracting, she was pinching my nose shut most of the time so I could not breathe and continued to do this for 20 minutes while tears ran down my face. Following that she used a cooling device and then proceeded to use a very warm device on inflamed skin. At $250 you would expect a little more consideration to the specific client needs and overall experience rather than just going down a checklist. The cherry on top was being forced to leave a $45 dollar tip on something I didn't like; Wow, honestly so tacky. It was an extremely painful experience, although demonstrating pain and even pulling away from the masseuse on multiple occasions she went even harder. I have bruises on my arms and chest. It was so bad that I opted out of certain parts of the facial because I knew she'd have no mercy. Now the tip - she asked in a very unprofessional and tacky way. I got beat up here (lymphatic facial massage) but I would still come back. I paid $220ish for the 2 hour massage and it was worth it! The experience was amazing and I'd say it felt pretty luxurious. I loved how they not only focused on your face but also your body as well with the caviation device and I was surprised when she actually massaged the front of my body (so if you're shy... just be warned). The facial is pretty straightforward and similar to other places. I will say she did an AMAZING job with extractions! And was very sweet. I also like that they give you an after care kit that will last three days. I literally am writing this review after coming back from HANBOK (the Korean salon that is like $400+ for a 90 min massage) and much prefer this. I'd also say this was better than the other places in ktown. I get facials quite often as a long time acne sufferer so I'm quite versed in all the skin treatments. Also, they have a minimum tip charge, it was $30 but I give 20% for services anyways so it doesn't bother me. This was my first time getting a lymphatic drainage massage and I didn't know what to expect. I knew all the benefits going into it but I didn't know how awesome I would feel afterwards. In terms of pain, the beginning vacuum suction massage was the most painful part but it was very short. When she moved on to the lymphatic drainage massage, that wasn't painful at all. It's funny because as a NP student, you learn about the lymphatic drainage system and all the lymph nodes and I was just going through them in my head as she was doing the massage! She definitely was moving them in the right direction! Now on the the facial. Apparently the CIVASAN skincare treatment is popular among Korean idols and actors but I don't know anything about that. HOWEVER, after I was done, I saw the results IMMEDIATELY. My skin felt like BUTTER and was so MOIST. I suffer from dry skin and I've never felt this moisturized in my life. Granted, I haven't received a facial in over a year but I would say I take care of my skin fairly well for the average person. Avoid at all cost. Save yourself and your skin. Got the 10 pack bc the deal seemed too good to be true. My first 3 experiences were great. Then the 4th and 5th was super aggressive and rough. I hesitated to go back, but because I paid for 10 sessions up front, I kept going back. Then the aesthetician I had for the first 5 sessions quit. I thought, "Okay, this might be a good thing." Boy was I wrong. I got the owner. You would think she was good. She was beyond bad. My 6th session was torture. I went back for my 7th. I was SEVERELY bruised to the point my husband was like wtf happened to your arms? Yes. BRUISED. I was like, "Yah... my facial was kinda rough..." The owner, without my approval, used a microneedling device on my face. A shared microneedling device. So unsanitary. When I felt her rolling it on my face, in the moment, I didn't say anything, though I wanted to scream. You just don't want to be that person nitpicking. Now I'm regretful I wasn't. For the next week, my face is a complete mess (it still is a mess). My entire face is red filled with bumps. It burns whenever I wash my face and to the slightest touch. I used to have impeccable skin for a 44 yo and now it's like pigskin. Literally. I went to see a dermatologist a week after and she was like, "Do not go back there." I messaged the owner letting her know I won't be coming to my next scheduled appointment and that I won't be coming back for the unforeseeable future, and that I would prefer to get my money back for the remaining 3 sessions. She responds fine, send me your Zelle info. I send it to her. Her response, "I have more to say, but forget about it. I hope you stop acting the way you do in the future..." Excuse me?! No apologize.
