Vegetarian options are easily veganizable by removing cheese or replacing it with avocado. I was having trouble choosing between the veggie reuben and the veggie steak sub, but they had run out of sauerkraut for the reuben, so steak it was. I thought the steak sub was delicious. Tempeh has a totally different texture from steak, but it delivers the savory flavor you want in a cheesesteak. I also got a slice of cheesecake with a swirl of raspberry or strawberry jam. It wasn't particularly memorable, but it was good. The interior of the restaurant is really cool. There are a few different rooms. The room I was in, where the ordering counter is, had this sort of jungle theme going on, with a mural and decorative furniture. There is also a larger dining room, a patio out back, and a bar, which appears to function somewhat separately from the main restaurant but doesn't show up as a separate location on any map app. If approaching from the south and looking for the restaurant, walk past the bar for the restaurant entrance on the north end of the building.

I understand that people primarily come to the Mishawaka for the setting and live music, and that part is obviously the attraction. But being a music venue shouldn't mean accepting noticeably lower standards from the restaurant. Music over food, and they seem to know it. You come for the tunes, but you may even leave with a stronger stomach.
