I've been to Rainbow several times and I struggle to finish my meal every time. There's something about the food that's not satisfying to me. I end up leaving about half of my meal or have to force myself to finish. I've really tried to love it since Rainbow always has rave reviews, but it's just not for me. I've visited to try out their vegan/vegetarian options when I'm in the mood to eat something lighter or focus on plant-based meals since they're known for their accommodating menu. I've tried the falafel wrap, the scrambled tofu, and the vegan breakfast burrito. I've also tried their golden milk latte. I love turmeric/golden milk lattes so I was excited to try it here. It was okay, but a little too grainy for my taste. The service is fine, but nothing stands out about it. You arrive, place your order, and they'll deliver to your table or give you a buzzer so you can pick up. The restaurant itself is charming, bright, and clean. It has a really great vibe. The best part is the popular patio area especially on beautiful, sunny days. Rainbow is a good restaurant, just not for me. read more

Inside is bright and spacious while outside was very inviting with tables under the shade or umbrella. They serve breakfast and lunch till 2 pm on Saturday. I ended up getting a peanut-cashew stir fry with chicken. It was good but veggies were mushy. The bounty bowl would be a delight to someone who loves the eat healthy type of food. Walking in, it's a cute, quaint place. All staff was super friendly. My daughter and I ordered guacamole omelettes and they were amazing. Absolutely amazing vegan/vegetarian food!!! I had their stirred fried cashew dish and it was one of the best meals I've had in a while!!! The ambiance was also great as well, with this environmental protective vibe. You could tell that the workers take pride in what they do. I saw one of the servers take the left over water from a table and pour it into one of the plants outside. Great service, not only to us but to our planet too!!! A unique cafe with sort of a funky, hippie decor and vide, the food is great. You order at the counter, find a spot to sit, and you have your food brought to your table. I tends to be crowded, and could probably do with the few less tables to create room inside, but when the weather is good there is generous outside seating. Once you get your food, you'll forget how crowded you are, and just enjoy the food. WE like this place a lot. read more

In our case we found it tough ordering our food and tipping for service before we received our food and had basically no service, no silverware, no water, no anything. How could we NOT stop in Fort Collins en route to Wyoming? After evaluating a ton of options on Yelp, my partner and I agreed on the iconic Rainbow Restaurant for lunch. We found parking in the back lot (which was poppin') and headed inside to order at the counter and seat ourselves. Split two of their signature dishes--Migas & Pumpkin Bread French Toast. Both dishes were tasty! My partner can't stay away from anything with roasted poblanos, and it seemed necessary to get something sweet as well. Overall, I loved the diner feel of Rainbow Restaurant, striking a balance between old school and modern. Service was great. I know this place has been here for a while, but I just personally discovered it and am so excited! My husband and I brought our kids here for breakfast on Sunday morning. The food was so delicious and the menu was broad enough that we were all happy - my bowl with chickpeas, rice, and spinach hit the spot for me, they had a plain bacon, egg, and toast breakfast that suited my picky husband, and the kids' French toast was beautiful and decadent (while using whole wheat bread). The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, service on point. We are all already planning to come back for our next meal out. Also, tip: the coffee cake was amazing. Great place if you're looking for vegan and/or gluten free meals. Several of their dishes could be ordered vegan or GF. My husband had the French toast (V) made with wheat bread and I had the 'Migas'. Nice portions sizes. I had a Golden latte and my husband a matcha latte with oat milk. They were both great, not on the sweet side, perfect to us. We went on a Saturday late morning (10am) and outside seating was full. You may want to have someone in your party reserve seats quickly if you find an open table. You order up at the counter and seat yourself. Also FYI: they have plenty of parking in the back, but that too was full when we went. Had to park on the side street and walk through the alley back to the restaurant. No biggy. On the last day of our weekend getaway we grabbed breakfast at RR and were highly satisfied. The vibe was casual (seat yourself, free self-serve coffee) and the food was dialed in. After checking out the menu we ordered inside - food was brought out to us shortly after. The sandwich that I ordered had an awesome homemade pest, fried egg and veggies on a lovely focaccia bun and was served with potatoes. I loved that they also had local hot sauce on the table. My wife ordered the special, which was an egg benedict type dish smothered in cheesy gravy. Both dishes were excellent and filling. So again this is based on past experiences we went today and well i will have to think about what i think of their new set up. They have done a lot of remodeling and revamping to make their building more covid friendly. It is definitely more modern now. When you go in you will need to go up to the bar and place your order and pay in advance. They will give you a number and then someone will bring your food and beverages out to you. i am not a fan of this type of restaurant format in general..... it feels like fast food. Its not only here but other restaurants as well. Oh once you get your number then you go seat yourself.... There was a limited menu compared to what their used to be and i was sad to see a lot of the things that I used to really enjoy no longer on the menu. I am hoping they will bring them back?? I did try out the scrambled tofu today and it was pretty good. Was wishing for salt shakers as i would have liked a little salt but none was offered nor to be found. so jury is out for me with the current status of things. We will be back at least one more time as i bought my husband gift cards there for our anniversary a year ago. he refused to go and do take out so have been waiting anxiously for them to reopen for dine in and they finally have! yay! Will see. Regardless of what we decide to do after our next visit i still wish them nothing but the best because i think they are a cool restaurant with lots of gluten free and vegan options. read more
