The Ticket in Platteville embodies a small town sports bar with the a modern update. It feels refreshing and new inside, while also feeling homey. The menu was quite a bit more extensive than I expected with lots of offerings for any taste. I settled on the fried broccoli and cheese bites and a chicken parm sandwich. Both of them knocked it out of the park. More places need broccoli and cheese bites. These ROCKED. The chicken parm sandwich was basic in nature but is exactly what I wanted from it. The best part? The bits of burnt mozz really underneath the sandwich for an added crunch. The service was everything you could have asked for. Quick, friendly. You name it. Glad to have made the decision to stop here a few weeks ago, and would absolutely recommend to anybody in the area. read more

Was up checking out the college with my daughter and found this place on Yelp for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It's a bar, but about as basic as bar can get. Napkins are paper-towels off the roll, when asked for additional napkins we were given a stack of cocktail napkins. Had to ask for silverware and the plastic glasses all smelled like bleach. Only one person appeared to be working both the bar and table area, service was a little bit on the slow side, but the gentleman was polite and accommodating. Cheese Curds were good, nothing spectacular and the quantity received was on the small side compared to what you might get at other establishments. They were out of tortillas so there were no wrap options. For a Saturday, not sure how they could run out already by lunch time. Sunday, dinner? Maybe??? I could understand, but going into a weekend? How is your kitchen not fully stocked? Main meals were hearty and good (burger & cheese stake), but again, nothing really special. Thw wife and I stopped for dinner on a Tuesday night shortly after graduation weekend in town, so our server quickly warned us that they were out of a lot of items. We were OK with that, and got our drink order in and placed our food orders. Service was good, drinks were fine, but the food was nothing great. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich, and it was fine, but not all that zingy. It came with onion rings, and they seemed to be the normal frozen variety, but were OK. My wife had the garlic shrimp, which was fine, but she ordered chips and got the onion rings too. She figured they were worth a try, but she wasn't so much a fan. We may have caught them on a bad day, but with a limited menu and in looking at the good reviews we figured it'd be better. All in all OK, but nothing special read more

The ticket is a great place to catch sports and food in the old downtown district of platteville with an ambiance of good people there is never a bad time at the ticket. The service is quick and they go over and above to take care of you, just let them know and it will be done! The food here is amazing, I personally always get the BLT with fresh lettuce and tomatoes with crispy bacon on some lightly butter crispy toast! I will be recommending to all who come to platteville for sure and if you haven't stopped by yet make sure you do! Friendly staff, good food and awesome location! Stopped in for a lunch on move in day and we were treated to a very young but good server and some rock solid bar food. I had the bone in wings baked with buffalo sauce and they wings were enormous and delicious. The burgers and fries got rave reviews from my 4 dining companions. read more

Onion rings were too crispy, the Thai wings were pretty decent. Parmesan wings were mid. Probably won't come back unless drunk off my ass.

OMG. We love The Ticket. Our son works at UW-Platteville so every time we visit we go to The Ticket for food and drinks. The owners and Dave always remember us and make us feel welcome. The food is fabulous and the service is outstanding! You will find the "locals" there because they know it's the best place to go In Platteville. read more

In town for work and decided to give this place a try for dinner since it was waking distance from my hotel. The staff was some what friendly! It felt like a local bar atmosphere, which is not a bad thing. However, it took a while for anyone to acknowledge you. The worst part was the food I ordered came cold. I had wings and a burger and they both were not warm at all and the burger had no taste. It's was not a pleasant night for me here!!! read more

Went to the Ticket today (Thursday, March 24) and ordered a drink from the waitress. I handed her my ID and she took a long time looking at it (which I completely understand because I am from IL and obvi my ID looks different than Wisconsins) but then she slaps my VALID ID down in my face and says, "thats a fake" in such a rude tone. The waitress walked away from our table immediately after everyone was telling her that i am of age. I was completely disgusted and upset and walked out. Dont plan on returning for the poor service and im baffled she didnt even asking me for other forms of identification which i had on me. I regret not calling the police and having them prove to her that I am of age just so I can flip the birdies and embarrass her for how she acted. read more

I had really high hopes for this Bar and Grill. A friend of mine claimed they have the best wings in town. I wouldn't know! Tonight my friend and I went to The Ticket 75 minutes before we had to be at Volleyball. We ordered appetizers and a drink. Our waiter was quick to our table and took our drink orders - drinks came fast. He took our food order immediately after bringing drinks. At this point I was feeling good about the service. I like the atmosphere other than a family that was blocking the walk way to the tables ... which later I believe that same family was owner or manager as the Mom thanked us for coming. The restaurant was clean. Although I did have to ask for our empty table to be washed off. Anyway, the people who came after us got their food before us. 2 waitresses sensed our distress and came over to ask if we were ready to pay. I said sure but we haven't gotten our food yet And asked her to bring it in to go containers at that point. Very disappointed. The wait staff seemed to be trying hard and offered apologies but ultimately I'm giving the Ticket a negative review because they could not get a simple order of food out within an hour. I know wings and customer service. First, I was impressed by feeling welcomed, since I was from out of town and was only passing through. I really lucked out and was able to get a souvenir glass with what I had ordered. Lastly, and most importantly.... the wings were phenomenal. I was a little confused upon entering the establishment. Was it a daycare, or bar and grill? Children's toys scattered throughout dining area as well as small children running around behind the bar pouring their own glasses of soda. It's great that you own a bar and grill, but keep the children at home or hirea babysitter. The burger and fries were pretty good! My rating would have been higher if it was cleaned up and cleared up in the dining area. Next time in town I will try another burger at another establishment though. read more
