We had a delay in our contractor, so we didn't order immediately and Brian was so patient and understanding. When we were ready to order everything was perfect. Nothing was forgotten. From what I seen on Google and yelp a lot of people are pretentious and have extremely high expectations for their sales people and their loyalty to previous employees. It appears a lot of customers can't make decisions for their selves. I have had a few bathrooms designed with the tile shop in Schererville and Kyle has went above and beyond to make sure my experience was impeccable. The loading process was amazing and that man was kind and helpful. My advice is don't listen to other peoples reviews and experience The Tile Shop for yourself!!! read more

If I could give the Tile Shop more than five stars, I would!! I created my own tile disaster by selecting an expensive tile that did NOT work with my remodel. After the contractor put up one wall of tile, I realized my error. I went to the Tile Shop with pictures of the space and some tears. I was so stressed!! Annese calmly reassured me that she could help and promptly picked a tile that was perfect for my room. She advised me to take the sample and send her pictures to make sure the tile was going to work before I made the purchase. I was so lucky to work with Annese. Last time I was in The Tile Shop Schererville, I met the manager, Kyle. He was rude and very unprofessional. I saw several customers waiting for help, but he did not offer any assistance to them! I noticed Lisa and Annese were busy helping their customers! I have also sent several friends to Tile Shop in Schererville to work with Annese on their remodel projects. They always had a great experience working with her. I've been meaning to write a review online for years (both good and bad)! Well today is finally the day. I see there are only three reviews before me, which seems a bit odd and a terribly low number. Maybe people aren't using yelp much anymore. Also, I believe this location just opened its doors a few short years ago. ANYWAYS, now to the good stuff. Erin was extremely helpful with her expertise on tile, trim, grout, etc. She made our tile dreams come true. Demo starts on Monday and I cannot wait to see the finished product with this gorgeous and well made tile. Nothing like you'd get from Home Depot, Lowes, etc. The selection doesn't even compare. I do want to say I feel bad because the first time I went there I was helped by another associate, but I did mention I was only looking that day to get ideas. I feel I should have searched for the same associate the second time around since she did spend time with me. My wife and I are having a new home built and it was suggested we go to The Tile Shop to pick out bathroom floor and wall tile, along with tile for our laundry room and front entry way. Annese helped us and without her we would have been lost. She has a real passion for tile and has grown up with tile setters in the family. Happened to be both in the neighborhood and in the need for bathroom floor/wall tile, we decided to go to the Menards because that's where people go. After wasting time at the "OK" looks of their fairly limited selection of ceramic tiles, we happened to pass a strip mall containing "The Tile Store". Being tired, the store looked small so I thought I would power through and be done with it. Wrong! They have both staged displays and aisles and aisles of tile display "boards", I guess I'll call them. Their choices are overwhelming and so vast a room can be assembled truly unique from these selections. So at that point I was not just tired, but now overwhelmed and tired. So I left, but I will be going back to discuss the best look for my room with their sales people, and most likely be buying there. An interesting evaluation of my search for tile is that interestingly, going into a big "tile warehouse" and my selections are directed towards cheap pricing and remaining inventory. Going into a shop like The Tile Store, pricing didn't seem to matter as the look of the finished project became more important and visionary, and some of their tiles are truly amazing. read more

Excellent customer service and help with design! We needed to change our entire tile section after it had been ordered and delivered due to a height problem between floor transitions. The Tile Shoppe, and Annise is particular, were so wonderful! Then we needed more, then we added another wall and needed more then we had too much and had to return some. You're going to have to excuse this long-winded review of this place because I have so much to say about them and nothing good! First let me make 2 things clear; this is a ZERO STARS establishment and my review is based on The Tile Shop's recommendation of installers, not on their selection of tile. Where to begin? Let's start with their recommendation of installer Bill Covey. It was probably my own dumb fault for listening to the salesclerk and choosing him for my tile installation for how hard she pushed him on me seeing that the guy is her father! However, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and take her advice. BIG MISTAKE! This guy had me waiting for 3 weeks, promising that he would get to me as soon as he finished the jobs he was currently working on! Even though when I originally talked to him on the phone he said that it would be a week at the most. We agree upon a designated time to meet at my house so he could get me an estimate(which was between 5or6 pm) and he's calling me at 4:00 asking me where I'm at, stating that he's at my house waiting on me. I explain to him that I'm on my way home from work and what happened to between 5-6 pm? He gives me some lame ass excuse,says he can't wait around that he has another job to get to and now I have to wait another week for him to come back! So he finally makes it to my house, takes some measurements, and again I don't hear from him for about 3 more days and I try calling him only for him to ignore my calls and avoid responding to my voicemails. After that, I say the hell with him and now on to the next clown on their list, John Degand. Talk about things going from bad to worse! So I call this idiot (John Degand) & explain to him that I'm in a hurry to get my floor finished because the previous idiot set me back 3 weeks and my carpenter couldn't move forward with the kitchen until the floor was complete. So he says all the right things, yeah The Tile Shop has had complaints on Bill Covey before, all his potential customers are turning to me, I'll fit you in ASAP and get your floor done, etc.,etc. So I say this sounds like my guy! Boy was I wrong! So he leads me to believe that he's going to be true to his word and comes to my house within a day or two of us speaking and gets started installing the subfloor. Sounds good right? Well as soon as the subfloor is installed I don't hear a word from him for over 2 weeks! Finally frustrated as can be I call him to find out what the hell the hold up is! He tells me, "I'm going to be out there Monday". Monday comes, he's a no-show. "I'm going to be there Tuesday." Tuesday comes, he's a no-show. "I'm going to be there Wednesday for sure." Wednesday comes, still a no-show!! Finally I get nasty with the guy and tell him I want this floor done and I want it done now!! This clown has the audacity to try and blame my carpenter for the delay with my kitchen claiming he's worked with him on other jobs and knows how he works! Which was total bullshit because my carpenter had all the upper cabinets installed and couldn't do anything else until the floor was complete! So when this idiot finally completed the job this is what he left me with: he didn't follow the grain pattern when laying the tile,he had sloppy non-uniform grout joints (some which are already starting to crumble),he didn't backfill grout along the walls or water and gas lines, he didn't use the grout additive I purchased and mixed the grout with plain tap water, left a mess for me to clean up and that's just the short list of problems! You can look at the pictures I've posted here for the proof.And this idiot claims he's been doing tile work for 16 years! I wouldn't have this fool back to my house to change a freaking light bulb! So to make this long story short, if you plan on purchasing tile from the Tile Shop, make sure that you have a reputable installer chosen and do not use the ones that they recommend! To make sure that you avoid John Degand for any type of carpentry work whatsoever, his company is called JD3 Remodeling & Design. I believe he's out of Hebron. You can look his picture up on Facebook. I've even looked to see if he had complaints with the BBB (after the fact unfortunately) and he does have a complaint with the BBB. Worse experience I've ever had, from ordering to install. Measured short, had to make 3 additional purchases. Product was back ordered, switched to a smaller tile to expedite the order. Installer store suggested took 2 months to install and had to redo a wall, Sale items were full price by the time the project due to additional product needed to the job completed. read more
