We had a great experience with this The Tile Shop between 2012 and 2015 .... but after that, the place went down hill - NO customer service whatsoever. We are redoing a half bath and looked at different tile stores. Went with this one as it had the tile we wanted for a decent price including a discount if we spent over a certain amount. We got 7 boxes of marble tile and out of those there were 10 that we found to have some imperfections. To be fair, my husband is very picky. They had me put all the ones we didn't one in a box with enough others to make it full and they simple ordered another box for us. Even though the thresholds were also marble and subject to different color and veining patterns, the two we were given looked nothing alike. As a matter of fact, one looked completely white. They were accommodating and ordered two from another store and had those for us, too. My point is that when we weren't completely satisfied with what we received, they made it right. It's really sad when a business tells you that the delivery service they use, "sucks." Yes, he said "sucks." He highly recommended that I spend the $200, because if anything was broken, it was covered if their service made the delivery. It would not be covered if I picked it up myself. More about delivery in a moment. Mind you the salesman was really nice and seemed to have a LOT of experience. He was friendly and helpful with suggestions when my wife and daughter couldn't agree on some ideas. That was what the ONE STAR is for. Our contractor came with us when we were ready to place the order. It was discussed and requested that our wall tile be from the SAME LOT BATCH. The salesman heartily agreed with that. My wife gave the date we needed delivery and we were contacted that we had a time frame for the afternoon. My wife had to change her work schedule to take the time off for this. The time came and went with no call they would be there in 30 minutes. No one answered the services phone number. Calls to The Tile Shop garnered not much more help. We got another phone number and the lady apologized and said it'd be out the next day. No stars for that and you should understand it wasn't delivered again. Now, I'm out of the state helping a family member with some health problems. I'm having to call and get involved. The lady I spoke with said she was in the hospital trying to recover from Pneumonia! She promised it would be out on Saturday and needed my wife to be available. I agreed that would be fine. Again no one showed up. I called back and a lady answered who said she was the other woman's mother and a nurse was tending to her daughter. She said to call back in 15 minutes. When I did, the lady was wheezing and sounded poor. She again apologized and said someone had quit and they were having troubles. She promised it would be delivered on Sunday. We got TWO pallets of stuff. It ended up missing a whole pallet and most of the tile wasn't there. What we did get, wasn't quite correct. All the boxes of wall tile for the small bathroom were from 6 different lot batches! That is just bad on The Tile Shop. They gave a crappy delivery service a poorly picked out incomplete batch of product. If you choose to do business with these guys, please beware. Something bad is going on there. read more

Great experience with the Tile Shop! I had a basic idea going in of what type of look I wanted for my master bath, but didn't know too many specifics on material and didn't have basic, general knowledge about tile. Tip: Bring in any paint chips, wood samples, etc. that you've already picked out. If you can't do this, you can take a tile home with you for matching purposes. The service here proved very helpful. I explained what types of styles I liked, the general size I wanted and color schemes that I liked and was shown some very beautiful Travertine natural tiles. Those were a little bit out of my budgeted range, so he showed me some porcelain tiles that were made to look like a Travertine. They were absolutely perfect! Even better than what I could've pictured in my mind. I would be surprised if somebody wasn't able to find something perfect for whatever project. Only perhaps if they were looking for something extremely specific. I have a very traditional style and was completely happy with my options, and one of my friends who likes things very contemporary and modern also loves it here. Enormous selection! Tons of natural stone, subway tiles, porcelain, ceramic, granite, mosaic and glass tile. My only complaint was that my contractor sent me in to work with a specific person. When I called ahead to see if that person was in, the gentleman, Ted, who answered the phone said that he would help me himself. That was OK with me, but later on I found out that this is a big no-no in the industry. He also was constantly trying to upsell me on a trim that I didn't want. One last note... I went for the heated tile option which didn't cost me that much more (the thermostat and wiring was about $200 extra. Just make sure your contractor knows how to do this though - and labor costs might increase slightly), but SO worth it. Worth it, worth it, worth it. read more

We were in twice and found exactly what we needed both times. It is a bit higher priced but you are paying for being able to get items not found in home improvement stores (anymore). Both times, the staff was attentive and helpful without being pushy. We were able to browse and any associate we talked to provided the same seamless service. We will definitely be back if we need anymore specialty tile/flooring help. read more

Check your grout if you go here! They sent us two different colors and said our contractor should have noticed. The colors were similar in shade to the dried grout already on the wall. Now we have to regrout because of their mistake. I would expect more from a store like this. I will be buying tile elsewhere from now on. read more

Sold me product that changed colors and manager was a jerk about it when I asked for my money back. Would not even partial return. Terrible product and crappy customer service. Stick with the big box stores don't waste your money here. read more

We worked with Katherine on our backsplash/tile and she was wonderful! She was great with follow up, answered our questions promptly and worked with us on ideas. Just...don't. They are over-priced, sold me the wrong grout for marble, and the manager never bothered to call back. The second time I used them, in spite of that experience, Ted (sales guy) approached myself and my mother, bringing a woman over he introduced as "his designer". He said they offer a home design visit for $100, applied to purchase if tiles bought there. I agreed and they came out the next day. While they were at my house, they offered an additional "design package" where they selected everything...within my budget and on an approved design. I would have it within 2 weeks. They measured and did rough drawings. I made it clear I'm selling my house and had a small budget so needed to be a very inexpensive project. We agreed not to move plumbing because it would be way too expensive. 1-1/2 weeks later they called and told me they "lost my file" and had to come back out. I wasn't available until the following week. They ended up (after I had to follow up a few times to find out why there was such a delay) sending me a design that involved moving walls, plumbing, etc....which we specifically agreed NOT to do. By then a month passed already and I had nothing at all for my $450.00. I told them I wanted to cut ties because I didn't have time to keep fooling with them. Instead I got yet another drawing that also wasn't anything we discussed! Oh...and then Ted told me he would "discount" the tile $400.00...and that was supposed to "pay" for the design services I paid for and never received!? Again I asked for a refund as the contract was to provide an acceptable design as well as samples and details of fuxtures, lights, tiles, etc. They have REFUSED to return my money and I'm filing a claim against them. For $450.00, I got a drawing of a cabinet and 2 drawings of the room....neither reflecting anything we agreed in our first meeting. AVOID Ted and this "designer" Christy Springer (CS Designs). Totally disorganized, clueless, and RIPOFF artists. I had to find someone else to do the job for me and I won't ever return to the Tile Shop. I will name them in my action as they allow Ted and Christy Springer to operate out of their shop and RIP PEOPLE OFF. read more

This shop has a good selection of tile, however, staff need more education. I purchased marble tile, then needed additional slabs, and for some reason (cannot believe they do this all day long) they did "not" match the color nor Lot number. It cost me a huge amount of time, money and gas to get it corrected. The manager did an immeduate resolve but still was huge huge inconvenience. I purchased some tiles that were supposed to be delivered for free at my door Friday September 5, 2014. Nothing was delivered and no notice that it would not be. called the next day and Brian Kelly acknowledged that he had "dropped the ball" but nothing more. I had to go to the store to pick them up because the installers were scheduled to do the work on the week end. I was expecting at least some little gesture on their part (free bag of grout...) Nope, nothing. I will think twice before I go back. read more

I had the same awful experience with "Ted" Oniate and his "designs" as the other reviewer! After coming out to my house and raving about all the fab things he was going to come up with, I received a terrible, utterly unworkable design that had NOTHING to do with what we had discussed. Went to the Tile Shop to select tiles with Ted and he seemed to pull out the same half-dozen beige patterns he uses with everyone. My contractor, a construction guy, actually came up with a better and more innovative design and between the two of us we tossed Ted's design in the bin and used our own.I picked out the tiles and color scheme entirely myself. We bought the tiles from the Tile Shop anyway because the contractor said he would get his business discount if we went through "Ted", and we would get the promised deduction for paying for Ted's design. "Ted" then screwed up our orders 4 SEPARATE TIMES, continually ordering the wrong tiles/sizes/custom bullnose specs, etc. contributing to our 4-week bathroom remodel becoming a 13-WEEK exasperating ordeal. Ted did not give us any workable design/color schemes, nor did he perform the functions of a Tile Shop sales rep in ordering/following through. Will NEVER use the Tile Shop or their so-called "design" services again, and I would urge others to stay away! read more

Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. The sales woman who was helpful and friendly when I entered quickly became short and inattentive seeming irritated with me when I told her I needed to buy some samples to take home and look at before making a huge tile purchase. She lost the sale for me at that point. Then when I came to return the unused samples, after waiting unattended at the counter for several minutes someone coldly and rudely completed my transaction, but couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me when the transaction was finished so I stood there for a few minutes waiting for him to come back to complete the transaction only to find out it was finished, he just walked away without acknowledging me at all or saying anything. Rude rude rude. Also VERY overpriced. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! read more

Terrible customer service both times I've been there- takes forever for someone to ask you if you need help and both times the person stopped in the middle of helping me to help someone else. How anyone ever buys anything there is beyond me. read more
