Store has moved to 223 East 5th Street. I don't know why Facebook and Instagram have not been updated since 2018 and 2019 respectively, but I can verify that the store does exist. The old landline is disconnected with no forwarding message and proprietor now uses her own cell phone #. Not sure if the old email is defunct. New location is smaller than the old location and seems to have less inventory in stock. I have not made a purchase at new location so can't say any more than this. read more

We needed tile for our new Chelsea condo. Both kitchen backsplash and master bathroom. The guys at Tile Spark were amazingly helpful. And after visit many other tile stores in the area, they have the best selection at the best prices. Their customer service is first rate. They were extremely helpful even after the tile purchase with additional material needs and questions. Would highly recommend. Updated 10/16/15 - Have to downgrade review unfortunately. Nice guys but they should have warned us that the very expensive glass / foil tile we purchased to replace kitchen backsplash would crack under heat conditions of the stove. $3500 of material and labor down the drain. read more

1st they only delivered part of my order with no explanation where the other half was. waited a month for the second part. when we got to the install date realized that there was a box missing . told them about the missing tile. they had the balls to charge me for their mistake (i paid because i was in a very compromised position) then the tile arrives it is the wrong pattern and wrong color and now my project is completely ruined. unbelievable waste of time, effort $. i really dont know what is wrong with these people. it is shocking the level of incompetence. read more

The absolute rudest, most unprofessional customer interaction I've ever experienced in NYC, which, in this city, is saying something. After walking in, my partner and I were asked if we needed help and replied we were just browsing, looking for tile color/ shape ideas. We looked around and took a few photos of designs we liked to help us remember what we liked when it comes to ordering our tiles. 2 minutes later, one of the 2 employees (I'm guessing Janet, going by the other reviews about terrible customer service) walked up to us, tossed a tile onto the one we were looking at, and said "I see what you're doing, you're just taking photos of everything I have in my store" and walked back to her chair and her knitting (which had also kept her so busy that she ignored a question we had asked a minute earlier). She started berating us for taking pictures because we hadn't asked permission first and continued saying we were being "invasive". She asked "how would you feel if I went to your business and snapped photos"- well honestly, in 2019, if I owned a business selling tiles, I would expect people to do that. We've also been to many other stores and taken photos of designs we liked without any problem, that's what you do when you're trying to decide which tiles you're gonna order for your home. Even then, we wouldn't have minded if she had asked us nicely not to take pictures, instead of immediately being aggressive/ rude. Finally, when explaining that we were planning our kitchen renovation, she interjected that "we are a tile store, not a renovation store". The silver lining is that maybe we dodged a bullet: we won't have to deal with this rude, petty, unprofessional behaviour during our remodelling, as needless to say, we won't be returning, and we'll be warning anyone we know to avoid this place. read more

I love this place. I bought my kitchen flooring and backsplash here after visiting many other tile places and not finding enough selection. The store is small but have a great, varied choice and some very unusual tiles. I think these were the best prices I've seen. Highly recommended. read more

Sadly this business has been driven into the ground. Put 15 years of of blood, sweat and tears into this place and nothing to show for it. Do not buy from this store. It is uninsured and is a liability. The phones have been shut off, the internet shut off, and the website shut down. I am owed money as do many clients prior to the Covid pandemic. Many have suffered do to mismanagement. Clients and myself still have not been contacted or compensated since March. Very sad situation. read more

I too have had a very bad experience with this company. Like Annette C. in another yelp review, Jonathan was my salesperson when I originally made my purchase. He took my measurements over the phone and assured me that if he over ordered the tile it would be taken back and a refund given. Jonathan has since left the company and Janet Zelikovsky (the President) will not help me. She at first told me a box had to be unopened, not taped up or written on, when I told her I had such a box she did not respond. I have sent numerous emails with no response. The tile is lovely but I'm sure it can be purchased elsewhere with better customer service. read more

While the saleswoman was helpful in getting our order to us on time, the owner refused to refund our $5.00 for the sample board because we didn't have a receipt (even though the saleswoman said one wasn't needed). Janet, the owner is rude and surly. There are plenty of other tile shops in the neighborhood. Choose any one of them over this place. read more

So happy with these guys! FABULOUS SERVICE. INFORM AND EXPLAIN DELAYS OR PROBLEMS PROMPTLY. MATCH PRICES. GOOD SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE....RUN and do business with this company. So here's the story about how and why I found this business by chance. I am doing complete gut remodel of three full bathrooms. I have shopped on line and in other stores for the past two months. Picked out what I wanted and am ready to purchase. On line, another vendor, "tile bar " looked like they had several of the tiles I was looking for all at one showroom, and competitive prices. They are in Manhattan so I decided to drive in and see all in person and order everything. I made an appointment to see specific tile samples and confirmed twice including the morning of my appointment with another close by vendor, "Tile Bar". Drove one hour, parked in spendy Manhattan lot, and walked into their showroom thrilled and ready to buy over $7000 worth of tile. Personnel working in "tile bar" showroom DID NOT HAVE AVAILABLE ANY OF THE PRE REQUESTED AND CONFIRMED SAMPLES for me to see even though I confirmed exactly what I wanted to see and that I would be driving over an hour and paying for expensive parking etc just to go to their showroom. I was really upset by this utter lack of courtesy and respect for my time. They kind of apologized, and gal assigned to "help" me kept running off to answer phones Yeesh....so disrespectful. And none of the specific samples on hand that I drove in to see. Ran out of their showroom and decided to google " tile nearby"... ( see my yelp review of tile bar) Google sent me one block to : TILE SPARK. Walked into TILE SPARK storefront in a upset mood due to bad recent experience and here is what happened: AND I AM SO HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE AND HELP. Here's what the guys ( Jon and Ray) did to make me happy customer. I was in their showroom over two hours. They even bought me lunch... 1 listened to whole story of horrid experience. Promised to help 2 matched every price I saw through shopping around on line and in other stores. HAD SAMPLES OF EVERYTHING I NEEDED. 3. Seemed genuinely ready to help and did so by calling various wholesalers on the spot to get me exactly what I needed/ wanted at amazing MATCHING LOWEST prices. 4. Were HONEST AND FORTHRIGHT when they could not meet prices of other on line vendors,and recommended I go for best deal on glass background tiles I wanted. ( I ordered from Michigan vendor at close out and therefore was good price) 5. Kept me informed about any delays in delivery etc. 6. Delivered everything to my home on the Jersey shore (a two hour trip each way). Do business with this company. You will not be sorry. read more

My experience at The Tile Spark was exceptional. I'd looked all over, including the internet, for a particular hard-to-find ceramic floor tile, very frustrated with lack of availability or understanding. After a minute's conversation, Janet grasped exactly what I was looking for, had a beautiful selection in stock, laid some out for me to see when I came by, and gave me samples to show the family before I committed. The price was excellent and every step of the process was easy, including Janet's expert advice on grout choice, good communication with other members of staff, and prompt delivery by one of the sweetest workers on the planet. Needless to say, when I made a last-minute decision to add a backsplash, I called Janet again. Phoned today and will have the tile I need tonight. Janet and Raymond are always so helpful. They're hands on without being pushy. They have tons of tile to choose from, truly a wide variety - one of the best in the city. Sadly, I have to drastically downgrade my review based on recent service. It seems that Jonathan who was my main contact left and the follow up to have two additional bags of grout delivered and an unopened box of tile returned and refunded was unsatisfactory. I was charged by Tile Spark on May 10, 2018 for the grout and its delivery. I had to call and email for over two weeks for the delivery and pick up of the unopened box of tile to be scheduled. Even though I had already spent thousands every time I called to follow up, I was treated as if it was my fault for bothering them. After the delivery and pick up occurred, I called and spoke with Janet Zelikovsky (the owner) on June 5, 2018 about my refund for the tile and I am still waiting. It seems that they used the refund as payment for the grout and ignored the May 10th charge to my credit card. I was such a fan, but needless to say I cannot recommend Tile Spark given this experience. read more

Service here is through the roof. We ordered bathroom and backsplash tile and love the material and the help we got. My wife and I were just putting some ideas together on our own and Raymond gave us some great guidance and design thoughts and it looks great. We also measured poorly (not our contractors fault) and ended up needing to order some additional material. Raymond really came through and got us the extra tiles quickly. I can't recommend this place enough. Great selection, great service and good people. read more
