My daughter and I engaged John of Grand Kitchen Design to help design and supply the cabinets for a…read morekitchen renovation of her apartment. We had a couple of false starts on the first appointment, bur from that point on, John was incredibly responsive, professional and clear in communications with us. We must have had him develop and tweak the drawings 8+ times before we arrived at the final drawings. He personally came to the site to measure a few times. GKD only supplies stock cabinetry - nothing custom. Their warehouse is in New Jersey. As a result, the cabinets were delivered to us 7 days after we approved the final drawings; as promised and in good condition. One back panel was in the wrong material; the correct panel was delivered the next day. We also needed to modify and order other panels, and John was very accommodating and helpful in arranging that immediately. Other cabinet suppliers we talked to seemed to specialize in expensive custom cabinetry, which we felt was unnecessary for our needs, and the timeframe for delivery was 6 to 8 weeks (from Europe). Heaven knows what would happened if one piece was damaged or incorrect - it could protract the cabinet work by months. Speaking of costs, GKD was very affordable - again, a consideration that mattered greatly to us. The quality of the cabinets was very good, including the soft close features of the drawer and doors. The range of cabinet designs and materials was also very good. We felt we got excellent value for our money, but more than anything else, we got wonderful, personalized service from John. I highly recommend GKD and John. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I've gotten kitchen counters and island counters from here before as well as tiles and kitchen cabinets. The kitchen cabinets are holding up pretty well. The counters scratch and stain easily - you have to be on top of wiping the surface immediately. The tiles are not bad. I also got a small sink from here and even though it doesn't look as nice as my fancy one, it's holding up a lot better and doesn't rust/stain as easily.

Its been so high performing, beautiful looking, and great value (above & beyond the usual big box retailers) that we had to return to get our new home's tile. It's a significant amount with all basement flooring, 4 bathrooms flooring and whole walls floor-to-ceiling, all kitchen backsplashes, and minor elements elsewhere. The knowledge & values are hard to beat, catching being need to speak preferably Cantonese and also acceptable Mandarin for more attention or time. English support exists. Best to know what you want so do your soul searching beforehand.
