The rooms are outdated and not clean ! Do NOT come here if your trying to experience NY

This is a cute, modern hotel in an extremely convenient Manhattan location. The rooms are small, but nice. The mirror doubles as the TV, which sounds cool but in reality it's not so cool. You still see a lot of the mirror and there is too much glare. You basically have to watch TV at night in the dark to get a good picture. The Time is now a part of the Hyatt family of hotels, meaning you can use Hyatt rewards to stay there and the staff is very friendly. There is no free breakfast. The bar does a wine and cheese late afternoon, but that is paid for through the "resort fee". If Hyatt was to remove the resort fee and replace the TVs, then I would be eager to go back.

TINY room with very loud AC unit

This room reminds me of hostels that I stayed at while I was backpacking though Europe in my 20s. It definitely doesn't live up to the standards of the Hyatt brand. There is also a $30 resort fee every night that doesn't really provide any benefits. There is a free cheese and wine hour, but other hotel chains provide that without tacking on a resort fee. Why not just add it into the daily rate? When it comes to the hotel itself, the petite room is TINY. It only has enough room for a double bed and a small desk, and you're tripping over the furniture as you try to maneuver around the room. The bathroom is tiny as well, and you can't even fully open the door because the door handle hits the wall. A larger person will need to turn their body to get around the door and to the toilet. The shower head is a rain shower, but it is mounted SO close to the wall that you need to be almost up against it to take a shower. Be careful not to bump into the faucet handles - ouch! I love rain shower heads, but I do not love this one. This one was very annoying to use. The hotel room is in general disrepair. I'm pretty sure the AC broke so they decided to install a super loud window AC unit and continue renting it to hotel guests? The caulk in the bathroom is cracked and missing too. The only outlet in the bathroom doesn't work. I also question the overall cleanliness of the room - there were several items missing from the minibar upon checkin and a small piece of trash left in the bathroom. If they overlooked those things (especially the minibar), what did they actually clean? Oh, and the mini refrigerator is completely filled with things to purchase, so there's no space to store leftovers or any other personal stuff. That's incredibly annoying, especially with such a tiny room to begin with. The hallways and elevators of the hotel do not have AC. That's very noticeable on a day where it's in the 90s outside. The elevators are also very small and slow. There is a severe lack of outlets in this room. There are none by the bed that are usable (the only outlet is used up by the wall AC unit). The bathroom has one outlet but it doesn't work. There is one outlet by the desk that works. I guess I'm glad I'm traveling by myself, otherwise all these annoyances would be even worse. I'm already bumping into all the duties in this tiny room without worrying about bumping into another person! 100% would not recommend the double bed petite room. Book somewhere else, anywhere else. This hotel needs to get its act together and, at the very least, don't put in a super loud AC unit and continue to charge $200+ a night (plus $30 resort fee) for a tiny room that is reminiscent of a hostel.

I don't know why this hotel has bad reviews. The hotel is modern and clean, and everyone was so kind. I've been here with my two sons. It is a a good location too. I will definitely visit again next time I visit around here. I highly recommend it !

Stayed here 04/09/2023. The Time New York is a newly-acquired Hyatt hotel in Times Square. I am a Globalist and this was a cash stay. TLDR: Rooms (suites) are large for New York, rooms are in need of maintenance, the Wi-Fi is TERRIBLE, rooms were not clean, but it's pretty cheap. Front desk staff are nice but you can tell they aren't familiar with the Hyatt system yet. Breakfast is full service in Serafina on the ground floor but it was lackluster. I was in a King Suite Deluxe (top tier suite below penthouse). Room number was 912? I think their 06 and 12 series are suites. I had a lot of issues with the room: 1. Door handle was loose 2. Thermostats falling off the walls 3. Bedroom blinds broken 4. Bedroom closet door broken 5. Shower knob fell off 6. Sticky stains and hairs left on the desk 7. Sink stopper was broken and wouldn't drain 8. Dust everywhere 9. Wi-Fi was absolutely awful. I'm talking 0.19 Mb/s down. Overall don't stay here if you need to get any work done. It's fine to use as a home base to explore New York and it's quite cheap, but you get what you pay for. I would give it another try if they actually housekeep and fix up the rooms.

I stayed here during a business trip. I booked a queen sized room with my company's booking platform. When I checked in, they offered an upgrade to a King sized room since I was staying for a week. Staff was quick to respond to repairs as there was some problems with the bathroom. The interior of the hotel was great from the furnishings to the bathroom. The giant round mirror was a great touch. Based on my experience, hotels in times square tend to be more spacious than other areas in Manhattan and this was no exception. During my stay, only one of the two elevators was functioning. It was an ongoing issues for months apparently. The wait time was brutal around check-out time, especially on the weekend... The complimentary breakfast was plain. It is only good if you want to grab some fruits to go. I don't mind returnirng in the future as long as the elevator issue is fixed.

Elevator stuck on the 10th floor
    George G.

This was easily the worse hotel stay I have had in the last 10 years. Hyatt should be ashamed. The POS system was not working, it took 45min to check in. The elevators were not operational, broken for my whole stay. The room was janky, the only positives I have are the friendly staff and location.

    Corey M.

Dirty, dingy, small. There were stains on the lounge and desk chair. It looked like no one had swept or dusted in...weeks? Months? For example, this toothpick under my desk? I don't use those. The TV doesn't have Netflix/Hulu capability...just cable...like we're cavemen! You can barely turnaround in the shower. The bathroom outlets didn't work. Some of the lamps didn't either - it seemed like maybe a breaker needed reset, who knows. No extra pillows or blankets. Cheap toiletries. The only upside to this place is that it might actually give you a little taste of what living in the city would feel like because this hotel is kinda like staying at a friends apartment - not really anything more than that.

Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. One thing to note: the hotel sits right above a sports bar, so it can get noisy when there's a game on. The gym was a low point. Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. Would stay here again, perhaps during a less busy time of year, if that's even possible.
