We went for dinner for a family birthday. There were only 6 of us but the waitress acted like we were the biggest inconvenience. We have been several times to this restaurant in the past for birthdays and brought a cake, but this time they told us that they have a charge to use plates. We have never been told this before and felt like the way the waitress spoke to us was very rude. They also automatically charged a 20% tip while also leaving a tip line on the receipt. We almost didn't catch it and double tipped. Seems odd to have such a high gratuity automatic fee, especially for such a small group. Nothing was indicated on the menu that there was an automatic tip. We typically tip 20%, but with the poor service and rude waitress, we didn't feel it was warranted. We won't be going back. Also the pizza tastes like Costco pizza, except not as good and way more expensive. read more

Went in today with my boyfriend, on a Monday, around 3pm. Only 2 other parties in the restaurant (group of 1, and group of 3). Our server, while not being rude, was pretty uninterested in any of her tables. When we were sat, she did not bother informing us about there specials(which we found out on our way out there were beer and cider specials all day), any recommendations, or even introduce herself. Very meh service experience. Then the pizza. My boyfriend got the Bobdacious, his was good, a little soggy towards the last few pieces. I got the vegetarian pizza. every piece of it was soggy on the bottom, up until the crust. 14 dollar pizza and it comes out SOGGY? I should of just gotten little Caesar if I was trying to go for mediocre. And worst yet, the server only checked on us once, towards the very end of our dinner so I never even got a chance to show her/tell her my pizza was soggy. Pizza was good, service was close to non existent. Whoever the thin looking middle aged man with a green tattoo on his arm had an extremely negative attitude towards his customers there. I've never felt so unwelcome in an establishment. Next time I'm ordering takeout so I don't have to deal with that, if there ever is a next time that is I'll probably get better customer service at dominos. read more

If you ask my friends and husband, they love it. If I go by my dietary requirements, and four points to review, I will say 3/5. This is based on their limited seating capacity, inaccurate display of GF item and a drink list that is longer than their food list. The last night we went, we asked if we could have the booth in the front of the restaurant that is next to the window. The host flat out told us that we couldn't have it because the owner/manager would be coming in and reserved it. 2 hours later, the table was still empty when we left. That's disappointing to me and something I would not expect from a location with so few tables. The other issue is that they offer a gluten free pizza but they allow cross contamination by either A. Using the same oven or B. Using the same prep surface. Within a short time of having my pizza, I knew something was wrong. Cleanliness 5/5 This location is clean. Tables are cleared fast. You can see in to the kitchen, Employee Knowledge 5/5 The employees are well aware of what beer is on tap and what is available by the bottle. They have a great selection of items on the bar and food menu. Product Offering 3/5 They have many pizza offerings, and appetizers available. For a beer place/tap house, there is more to drink than eat. They offer a gluten free pizza crust but beware, they cook it in the same oven as the rest of the pizza or use the same prep area. If you are someone who has an issue with cross contamination, beware. Accessibility: 3/5 This location has ample parking and a waiting area inside. There is limited seating though and only one door in and out. The wait is usually manageable but I would not go if I was already hungry. There is only one stall for the bathroom. This is my first review for a restaurant online, I don't normally find it necessary, but felt it was needed in this case. I was in there a few weekends ago with my family. While finishing up, I took a bite of my daughter's pizza and bit into something rock hard. I realized that whatever it was had managed to break a piece of my molar off. I pulled the piece of tooth out of my mouth and informed the waitress about it. She seemed at a complete loss as what to do or say. I told her that I wanted to leave my information, and take some info from her, since I would have to go see my dentist once the week began. I went to the bathroom to see how bad it was, and by the time I returned she had already cleared away my plate with the pieces of tooth on it (convenient). I have waited to say anything due to wanting to see if the damage to my tooth required anything other than a filling (which is complete now). My problem is not that something happened, there is always a risk of that, but the manner in which it was handled, or not handled, is my issue. I have not received ANY type of communication from the owner/manager about this. I am not looking for anything other than a check to see that everything is alright, if I was I would have argued for some kind of discount on the meal that broke my tooth. They couldn't even be bothered to do that. While the food is great, especially the kid meal where they build a pizza, I will not be going there again since there is little to no care for their customers. read more

Just came back from the Toad House Pizza pub tonight. I left pretty frustrated. We ordered cheesy bread and a half and half pizza. the cheesy bread took forever. When we got it, i was pretty disappointed that an artisan type restaurant was using sandwich bread with tons of mozzarella as their cheesy bread. I kind of expected maybe home made bread from their pizza stove. I can get this anywhere. The Pizza came a bit later, and they had half of the pizza wrong. the waitress apologized and said they were going to make a smaller replacement pizza for the botched half. By the time my pizza came out, my wife had long been done eating, it had been well over twenty minutes. I was frustrated for having to wait so long, that i asked for it to go. the waitress was nice, but offered no discount for the inconveniences. The pizza itself was fine, nothing special really. There are many other pizza joints i would rather patronage before ever going back to the Toad house. And if the bartender ever reads this, maybe you could be a bit more welcoming to customers, instead of grumpily walking people to their seats and slamming the menus on the table. Just a thought. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else. read more

I am really not fond of pizza but my husband loves it so this is a unique review for me. It has strangely cutesy decor with flowered vines and mushroom ceiling fans (but I think that had the fairylike toadhouse theme) which sort of clashes with the hip music and the tattooed servers. (Not that I mind that) I don't drink beer but the peeps I was with were quite impressed. They said it was one of the best Northwest selections that they have seen. Okay I work in a restaurant so my eye can appreciate quality ingredients. And that they were. Okay let me say that it was the best pizza I have ever had (reiterate I am not fond of pizza). It is cooked in an open kichen in a brick oven brought to you on the table still on the wood slat and placed on a rack. The tomatoes were Roma tomatoes and not the cheapie ones and they were not quite the same in size so it looked like hand sliced veggies and not machine sliced. The basil was shredded fresh not dried. Big chunks of meat. They brought you parmesan cheese to spoon on because it was fresh shaved (not shaken from a bottle). And the breadsticks we got ...yum. The pesto dipping sauce was not all blended like it was store; there were chunks of pine nuts and basil like it was hand stirred. I got the Chicken Club. It was fantastic. Fresh grilled chicken breast, roma tomatoes, thick canadian bacon, crunchy lettuce, with a garlic ranch spread. I salvate when telling others. The service for us wasn't bad. It is small so getting a table may take a few but our big pierced tattooed server guy was great and attentive. I had an absolutely lovely time except as we were getting ready to leave, the kids had to go to the restroom so they went up towards the kitchen area (which is open to the dining room) and asked a girl directions. The chick cook in dreads started making fun of my kids as they went by. Hey I work in a restaurant and I am married to a cook. Trash talk happens. But I heard it and my kids heard it , so if you are stupid enough to do it on an open line, that takes a star away. ------------------------------------------- Revisited review: I added the star back. I was probably a little harsh because I was a little mad. But since then I received an apology email from the aforementioned cook. It was sincere and professional. This place sucks! I'm tired of hearing locals tell me their pizza is good. I've had better frozen pizza....

Has gone downhill with slower service, more expensive pizza and no more football. Used to have 4-6 servers, brewer nights, high volume and good prices. Now down to 1-2 servers, $22+ pizza, and so frazzled I saw them turn away customers when half empty- which can't be good for business. Hopefully they will get back on track. read more

Okay don't get me wrong, the food is wonderful. The pizza is delicious and I tried the chicken pesto panini during my last visit, and it was a terrific sandwich! On the other hand, the service is something that needs to be improved. I feel as though each time I come to eat the service just gets worse and worse. The servers have never been rude, but just not very attentive and just kind of slow. I mean it took about 10 minutes for or waitress to bring us our check from the time of bringing a to-go box for leftovers. When we visited, the wait staff allowed a large party to control the obscene volume of the restaurant through our entire visit, allowed the same large table of patrons to take pulls from a growler and get so riled that men were falling from their chairs. Fun is fun but letting a table of obnoxious people ruin our meal is bull. I guess the staff knew where their tip was coming from, cause they sure didn't get one from me. The food was undercooked, I imagine that the kitchen couldn't maintain the heat of their bricks from cranking out the pizzas to feed the large group... and the waitress was unavailable to inform of the food. Great pizza and beer under one roof? In Bremerton? The Toad house is the place. They always have great beers on tap, fully stocked shelves of sometimes hard to find beer and wood fired pizza. The Winning Combo, the Bobdacious and the TD's Good People pizza are some of my favorites. Along with the salads The Best Sandwich You've Had All Day is a great alternative to pizza. Wife and I love this place. Go there at least once a week and sometimes more. Derrick has to be the best waiter in the county and Tax, the chef is great! I've been meaning to write this review for a while. March 11th my boyfriend and I called in to order a pizza for pick up. We asked for the margarita with a few added veggies. When we arrived we were told there was an accident and the pizza was dropped (completely understandable, but..) they said they were already working on another one and it would only be about 5 mins. I thought that was odd but we sat and waited. It took about 25 minutes when they brought it out to us. (I just want them to know, it's better to be honest and tell a customer an actual good guess/time then to make it sound good by saying less time and having us wait getting upset. The whole reason we were picking up instead of wanting to sit in there was cause one of us had a headache but because of this we ended up sitting and waiting anyways. To top things off, when we got the pizza home it was so uncooked we had to put it in our oven to cook longer and not all of the extra toppings we ordered were on it which is a bummer since it's pretty expensive per additional topping. I gave three stars cause even though this was a bad experience, we both agreed when we have dined in before it was better. read more

I really like the pizza they serve here. I've actually never eaten here, but rather have had it for take out for work lunches. I will say, they have really good pizza. A small restaurant in E Bremerton that was a good find! We were seated promptly and had good service. We did wait about 30 minutes for one pizza. My kids were so hungry. But, the pizza was very good. We scarfed it all down. It is a but pricey for pizza. The kids pizza is $8.00! I might return for a date night with no kids. read more

Best pizza we have found in Washington so far!! They are less than a mile from our house so we are frequent customers! Love the tiny atmosphere and the wonderful staff! I gotta say...i wasn't really impressed. Granted, i am a vegan that was going to lunch at pizza place. When i asked if their crust was made with egg(silly but some places use egg in their dough even though they can make it easily and less costly without) the waitress was unsure. She was, however, pretty sure that the gluten-free one was egg free. Yes they have a gluten-free option which is pretty awesome...although they buy it pre-made...that's ok...baby steps...one at a time. So i ordered the gluten free option...it was more expensive and didn't come with a salad like their normal lunch special. I understand that it would cost more since it's made from rice flour and all special like, but no salad? Seemed like punishment for having an allergy...separating from the group for being different. Well, i guess it wasn't all THAT bad...but gosh darnit...i wanted salad without having to pay extra. ok..ok...enough about the salad. When my gluten-free, cheese-free bit of tomato covered card board came, they had also forgotten one of my toppings...this just makes me pouty. My friend's pizzas were swimming with cheese. In fact, my super cheese loving friend said that it was a bit too much. This is coming from a ovo-lacto vegetarian who will never EVER be vegan because of her undying love of cultured milk product. You get the point. A bit heavy on the dairy. The waitress was a sweet heart...it can be trying to deal with special need customers...i know this...i know that i can be one. She was great about it. The atmosphere was nice...maybe a bit too developed...but you could see the pizza oven from where were sitting...which was nice...kind of comforting to see where your food is being cooked. After a year of wanting to go to this place but not wanting to drive to Bremerton we finally made the trek from Poulsbo. Overall thoughts: like the atmosphere, the large beer selection, and the pizza was fresh and delicious. However, $70 later for a few beers, one large pizza and two kid's pizzas, I felt a little financially raped. Next time, we will go on Monday when they have $9 pitchers and order one small pizza for the kids and one large pizza for the us. Overall great pizza and beer but not a "cheap" date. read more

I'm a regular here. Fresh, quality pizza and a nice environment with super-friendly staff. For those who detest the 'fast-food' pizzas offered by national chains, this is the place for you in the area. For kids - ask for Tadpole pizza. They'll bring the pizza dough with sauce on it and a plate of toppings to the table so your children can assemble their pizza themselves. Love it! If you're headed in with kids on a weekend, be at the restaurant no later than 5:15 or be prepared to wait for a while which is always hard with kids at dinner time. Definitely recommend Toad House for a casual evening out with the family. read more

My husband and I finally got a chance to eat here. We were very pleased with everything at first. The margerita pizza tasted awesome, although the taste of garlic was a little too much... great beer, great service! Later that night, my husband and I had the worst stomach pains and gas/diarrhea ever! WAY TOO MUCH GARLIC! There had to be at least 50 cloves on there. The place is a little strangely-placed next to a grocery store, with a big empty parking lot, but everything around here is kind of like that. It's really all about the beer isn't it? Great selection of beers and the plaques have given some of my friends a reason to live. However it can be frustrating order beer when every time you pick a beer off their list it's not in stock. The staff is usually pretty friendly but it seems to be an odd job people take when their band isn't on tour. You can tell their just biding their time there. Pizza is some of the better in town with some unique pies that have been pretty rewarding but there is better in town. I've had nothing bad here but somehow it dosn't add up to 4 stars for me but if you want a good pizza and don't mind a little bit of wait I have no doubt that Toad House can deliver. read more
