Hubby and I stopped in for a quick brunch. The restaurant was very bright and colorful and we were greeted and seated promptly in a booth. I was immediately intimidated by the menu because I always struggle to know what I want. The menu had tons of breakfast and lunch options to choose from. My husband had the Yolk Lover's breakfast with eggs, sausage, hash brown casserole and pancake which he enjoyed. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was cheesy although a bit spicy. The portion was pretty big and I was able to have some of the yummy leftover grits later in the day. Since it was our first visit we got 2 free churro donuts with caramel sauce which were warm and delicious. We will definitely be stopping in again to try more of the menu. read more

I ordered the toasted yolk which should be their signature dish seeing as it's named after the restaurant. I ordered my eggs over easy and they were cooked over hard which sucks because who wants an over hard egg, and I also found egg shells in them. If they can't get their signature dish right I won't be ordering anything else. read more

I've been here twice and the food here is delicious. When it comes to breakfast, I'd definitely recommend this place. The restaurant itself is bright and well-lit with really nice furniture and wall decor. The only knock against the service was an alcoholic drink I ordered. Server got it wrong and instead of making a new drink, she poured it into the correct glass and added a shot of vodka. More context is needed, but this was lazy and didn't help the drink. read more

I visited this restaurant on mother's day with my kids. The service was not that great. The food came out cold and apparently they didn't know what table to bring it to bc they went to a different table to give them our food. Who ever cooks the bacon for them doesn't know how to cook bacon bc our bacon was burnt and extra extra crispy. Didn't eat it wasted 6.00 on 3 pc of bacon that wasn't good enough to eat and the waiter never came to check on us to see if we needed or wanted anything else. So, I am not big on specialty breakfast concepts but wanted to give Toasted Yolk Cafe a try on lunch since they promote breakfast and lunch (brunch). It is located just off of IH 10 East. Parking is plentiful. We came on a Saturday lunch just after 1. Business was brisk. We were seated right away. Waitstaff greeting was quick with the usual drink order. I did glance and see there were many choices of brunch adult beverages. Mimosas, Irish Coffee, etc... These were all overpriced. I also noticed that there were 2 appetizers on the menu and Creole beignet bites, which looked interesting but just opted for the meal. I went with the Reuben Sandwich, which consisted of corned beef, sauerkraut, 1000 island, swiss cheese, and rye bread. My wife chose the Pattymelt, and my daughter went with the Alaskan Arnold, which is like a deconstructed eggs Benedict with salmon. Overall, my sandwich was decent. I forgot to add that it comes with a side of fries, hasbrown casserole, or a salad. My two better halves enjoyed their meals. I may come back in the future to try breakfast. Soo basically we came here and the water was very tappy which is fine and all but my fellow peer asked for a lemon like 5 times throughout the service and still has yet to receive it and also we ordered chicken and waffles and the waffles were VERY DRY and the chicken was also VERY DRY and they got 3/4 of our sides wrong and we asked for hot honey and powdered sugar and didn't receive it until we were done eating and both of my fellow peers ordered no jalapeños and cheese on their waffles and it came with jalapeños and cheese and one of them was allergic and had a reaction, honestly this service was just severely disappointing, also if you come here be sure to pack your own water read more

We went on a Saturday morning and it was fairly busy but we were put way in the back, around the corner all alone. Our waitress was so soft spoken we just couldn't hear her. I just ate there today and my waitress tried charging me for hot cocoa. I asked her to take it off and then she told me that I should leave it on because there was a coffee I drank. When she knows I sent that coffee back because it was cold and old and she tried to argue with me. It took her 10 minutes to update the ticket and then I noticed the amount did not change. I checked the items on the ticket with the menu and they were more than what the menu said. The waitresses blond headed manager updated my ticket so they knowingly up-charged my food items. This is unacceptable, I spend a lot of money at this establishment. I will not be back, you need to do a better job with your customer service and stop scamming your customers out of their money. read more

I'm very disappointed in this business today. I typically go in on weekends I don't have my son, which is about every other week. I sit at the bar bc I don't want to take up a table for just myself. Today I did the same. I ordered something new and asked if I could sub another item for meat, and was told no. Not a big deal, I get it. So I just order without the meat on the plate. Which made the plate just eggs and hashbrowns. Which I'm completely good with. But as I got a few bites into my egg, I got a piece of shell in my mouth. Not a big deal, I quietly put it into my napkin and continued eating. The very next bite, I got another piece of shell, so I again spit it out, and checked to make sure it was actually shell. It was. So I then got a piece of egg from the other side of my plate. ANOTHER piece of shell, this time bigger. So I quietly spit it into my napkin and waited for the bartender to walk by, she did and asked if everything was ok. I told her, "I don't need anything redone, or comped or anything, I just want you to let the kitchen know there is a lot of shell in my eggs." She apologized and said she would let her manager know. As a small business owner myself, I know these things happen. No biggie. So I stop eating my eggs and just finish my hashbrowns. The couple at the bar beside me had witnessed the whole thing and we'd actually laughed about it. A few min later the bartender comes back and very matter of factly, says "I spoke to the manager, and we can remake them or change them, but the manager has to come and inspect your eggs first to make sure there is REALLY shell in them." I was shocked. I told her I didn't need anything else, just thought it would be good to have the kitchen check so they could make sure nothing was wrong. I wasn't asking for anything and made that clear, but the fact the manager would have to come inspect my eggs to ensure I wasn't lying really rubbed me the wrong way. The manager never came over, never checked in, never apologized or anything. The couple beside me was also bothered by this. They encouraged me to have the manager come over and inspect the chewed up food in my napkin if they wanted proof that bad. I didn't, because that's gross. But the lack of customer service and appreciation really bothers me. AND that is the story of how I paid $30 for a drink, some hashbrowns and half a pancake, and how the Toasted Yolk lost a regular customer. read more

Not a fan of the hashbrown casserole but that might just be my personal taste buds as I prefer regular toasted hashbrowns and not in casserole form. For a place that just opened they seem to have it together. Our wait staff "Liberty" was attentive. Everything went quick for 11 am brunch seating. We seen all the cars and thought it might take longer and wasn't going to stop at first. But using their website we joint the waitlist and it told us we had 4 people in front of us and that we could check in at 11:07. Got to the front desk we really didn't need to join the waitlist they were ready to seat us immediately. But they did at least clear our name from the Queue. Parking is great there is plenty of space surrounding the facility so no need to rush and park up front just park on the sides and walk in. It is faster. It's your typical brunch place with breakfast and lunch and serving adult beverages. My only complaint would be that my coffee was not hot enough and my food was warm as if it had been waiting before delivery. Still delicious and an easy stop to start your day. What happened???? We have been coming here for months and the food has changed. Ordered a sandwich BLT my favorite with fries. Always order extra crispy. Three orders of soggy fries later still didn't get it right. Undercooked bacon on the sandwich. The wait was supposed to be 30 minutes so I asked if they would text me when the table was ready and they confirmed yes! Me and my husband went to the car and are waiting and the next text we see is "your name has been removed from the list!" So we get off and they said they kept calling us and texting us and nobody came. It's funny how we got the "you're on the waitlist" and the "your name is removed" but not anything in between! New place that just opened a few days ago. Impressive service and atmosphere being only a few days open. Very clean . I had a simple biscuits and gravy and a cafe at lait. For being my first meal I wanted to keep it simple. Excellent fluffy biscuit and just the right consistency on the gravy. Not too heavy on the pepper and just creamy enough. The coffee was a bit strong which is how I like it. Overall a nice place for a quick breakfast. It's only 2 min from my house so I will be visiting frequently.
