Ok, I have only ordered carryout here so I'm going to be a little generous with the stars. I ordered nachos from here and when I went to pick them up they weren't ready. There's no way they started on them until I got there because how long can it take to slap some meat and cheese on a pile of chips? The nachos tasted ok, but they weren't very hot. Horrible service! I do not recommend at all!! Sat for 10 minutes before we were greeted! Food took a long time! Chips taste stale! On our way home from our cross country road trip, wanted to grab food near our hotel. I was hesitant to stop here because of the reviews. I cannot understand why this place was rated so poorly. Being from San Diego, I'm a Mexican Food connoisseur. I didn't think they would come close to measuring up but wanted something fast & easy and the alternatives were not appealing, so we went for it. Was attended to right away, server was very kind & helpful, food came out fast..and it was delicious. Guy recommended this loaded chorizo, chicken, steak, grilled onion quesadilla (which I rolled up and ate like a burrito) and it was amazing. Chips were thin and crisp, exactly the way they should me. Ignore the other weirdo yelpers and go get you some good Mexican food. read more

The food was really good! I had the enchiladas verdes. Tender chicken wrapped in corn tortillas with green sauce and cheese on top. Spiced just right! And I also had a chile relleno which was made the way I like them, stuffed with a little meat and beans, and smothered with lots of cheese. Quite delicious! The only thing that kept this from being a five star review was the slow service. My waiter was very nice but things really took a long time today. read more

Stopped here on my way across Indiana in order to avoid stopping in Indianapolis. Surprisingly good food. I had the "enchiladas light"-- 3 veggie enchiladas with melted cheese on top, rice and beans on the side. Filled with spinach, mushrooms, onions. Delicious and yes, light! Warm and cozy ambience on a cold rainy night. Will stop here again next time. read more

Went here once before and like most of the other reviews, this place is mediocre at best. Went again and and left before we ordered. The "waiter" brought the chips out in one hand and had a dirty dishrag in the other. I asked for the spicy salsa for my chips and was rudely told to dump hot sauce into the salsa my wife and kids were going to eat. I've gotten spicy salsa here before and any other Mexican restaurant btw. We should have known something is up with this place since it was empty and it has already changed names once. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen around so do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

The food at the toro is good, but not great. I had the burritos deluxe. I feel like it should have come with some rice as a side. The burritos were kind of small but had good flavor. The sour cream may have been a little older. It had a gritty texture, but didn't taste spoiled. I really liked the queso cheese dip, but we had to ask for it 4 times before we received it. Not a bad place, but not the best Mexican food I've had. read more

I refuse to even give this restaurant one star. They do not deserve it. The service was awful. And I don't appreciate my boyfriend being laughed at and spoken about being "fat" in Spanish. The food here is really very good. The disorganization of the staff however is slightly below average. My wife and I wanted some mexican, we have lived in Las Vegas prior to relocating to scenic Brownsburg, so our taste for good mexican food has been spoiled. I was pleasantly surprised by the food at this joint. The Pablo's Burrito was awesome and my wife ordered Chimichanga's that were flavorful and also delicious. The chips and salsa service while you wait was also very good. The staff was a little slow and it took a while to get a hostess to seat us. Our waiter wasn't very attentive and it took a minute to get refills, if they had been on the ball a little more they would have gotten a 5-star rating. read more

absolutely terrible!!! waiting up front for five minutes just to find someone that was working. then asked to be seated and he told us to wait again. I then asked if we could just seat our self's and he said I guess with an attitude. Here is one buddy, if you don't like your job leave!! this places has the worst customer service I have seen in a long time. Keep operating this way and you will not be in business long. then our waiter never brought our check and once again had to wait up front for some help. finally went to back and had to walk into the kitchen just to get some one to come up front so we could pay. I've eaten here many times, and in the past liked it. I stopped in yesterday to carry out food. I ordered the chicken chimichanga & the pollo way. The chimi was not good. The pollo way chicken not seasoned well, and there was very little cheese on it. It was pretty dry and bland tasting. The serving sizes were way too small for the price. read more

This is our hometown restaurant. It is where we know we can go after a busy day to cozy up as a family in a booth and reconnect. The margaritas make me love my children again even though they are being annoying. The waitstaff know us, occasionally tease the kids, and remember that the O-boy always gets a hot dog. (Best hot dog in town, too. I know, that's weird.) The food quality is consistently good, the chips are warm, the salsa tasty, the service is generally efficient. As often as we go, there are bound to be occasional hiccups in service, but that is absolutely the exception rather than the rule. read more

There was a time, many years ago when this was one of our favorite restaurants. There was a wonderful and hospitable lady by the name of Victoria who was both pleasant and professional. Alas, she left a long time ago. It's as if the Management there has this surly, presumptuous attitude as if we we should be grateful just to be there. That is, if you are lucky enough to see a manager. There is one waiter in particular, a heavy set, unshaven EXTREMELY unpleasant individual who goes out of his way to make your experience even worse by his coarse attitude and lack of quality service. We hardly ever go here, but occasionally we forget the ugliness of the time before and try it again. There used to be some well prepared food items that should be able to draw you back in but food is only part of the total experience and cannot overcome the lack of civility. Absolutely the worst Mexican food we ever ate!! We been wanting to try this restaurant out for a while now. (This restaurant is located next to Scotty's brewhouse, please don't be confused with El Toro down the street!). This place is nasty!! the salsa is like watered-down V-8 juice or tomato soup, absolutely nothing fresh about it. The food came out pretty quickly and was just lukewarm. It was amazing how the beef enchilada had little pieces of grit with every other bite. After the second crunch of debris and taking it out of my mouth i could clearly see it was a ground up piece of bone! I went to alert the servers but they never came back, at which point we just asked for the check we could not take it any longer. El Toro, on the southside a Brownsburg is so much better, it is worth the drive! Pretty sure they make their own salsa since it is always fresh tasting and the food is incredible along with their servers. read more

I had a horrible experience at "The Toros" restaurant. I will NEVER be going back, and if you are a single woman or without a companion I suggest you stay away from this place too. I am from out of town on work related business and as soon as I arrived I began getting unsolicited attention from the male waiters. I was minding my own business on my phone waiting on my meal when one waiter in particular came over to my booth and sat down next to me in a very cozy fashion. Every time I tried moving over he would further corner me. A few times he touched my arm, hand and back. Even after I made it clear I was married and I had the intention of leaving he became pushy and tried to get me to drink. When I refused for the FOURTH time he had the nerve to offer to take me to my hotel! I was tired and just wanted a good meal. I did not want to share my table with anyone... I did not feel like answering any stupid, "why the frown???" questions... And I never felt like being touched at all. I have never felt so harrassed and humiliated in a restaurant before. Needless to say I did not finish my meal. I took a few bites and decided to leave. I didn't want to put up with it any longer! read more
