It was taco Tuuuuuesday and I wanted to snag a couple tacos for lunch. Now, I will say parking is kind of tricky. Make sure you go into the right entryway and park in the back. When I went inside, I was greeted with a smile. On Tuesday, they offer $2 tacos. I grabbed the steak, chicken, and carnitas, and a side of refried beans. The steak and the carnitas were good. I felt the chicken needed more flavor. I tried my sister's birria. I felt the meat needed to cook a lil longer, but the flavor was there. This has to be hands down the BEST Birria Taco's I have ever had and I have tried them at many places in many states. The house made sauces were perfectly made increasing the taste of the taco's. The chips and salsa were FRESH so fresh the chips were JUST made to order. I paid all of $9 for a fantastic , fulling and hot lunch. Check them out asap you wont regret it . Mega Tacos is an unassuming, family-run taco shop in a converted old house. The yard, with patio, is filled with colorful signs and flags (and even a swing set for the kids) that grab your attention. There are a couple tables inside. The shop is not upscale, but clean, friendly and cozy. A couple small cases are filled with perfumes and candies. We ordered a mix of a la carte items from the menu. I wanted to try everything. The food is prepared fresh and tastes fresher than other area Mexican restaurants. Ali, the clerk, was welcoming and friendly. She offered us some comp chips and salsa after we ordered and paid at the front counter. Prices are beyond reasonable. The portions are large. My carne asada sope was huge and delicious with lots of fresh cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. The beef was well seasoned and good. I also ordered a chicken chalupa, which was served on a thick flat bread with lots of fillings. The chicken was delicious. The house sauces are really good, especially the avocado sauce. I think I used a whole bottle. Entrees come with fresh lime and refreshing sliced cucumbers. My husband had a chicken tamale and a beef chalupa. The tamale was huge and moist with a healthy portion of chicken breast meat. On Tuesdays, tacos are $2. No alcohol is served, which is a shame because a Corona would have hit the spot. Mega Tacos is located in a small town by the name of Clermont, In. I just happened to drive past and decided to get a meal to go. Be aware that the parking is a little tricky. It's located in the back of the building. Also, The building is a house. Once inside there are approximately 2-3 tables to dine in but this place seems more like a take and go spot. The restaurant is clean and there is one person taking your orders and another in the kitchen. The menu is a nice size and there are several options to pick. I went with the shrimp quesadillas. They came with rice, lettuce, tomatoes and a dollop of sour cream. As my friend would say this quesadilla tasted fresh and had the freshest of ingredients. We've stopped in here numerous times and have always left satisfied and almost always with leftover food. The place is a small converted house so there's not a whole lot of seating. They do have some outside tables available though. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. This time we ordered elote (mexican corn on the cob), a steak tostado, a shrimp taco camarones (shrimp) empanizados. Everything was good and filling. The empanizados are basically fried shrimp and came with rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream on the side. We will be back for sure. read more

Let me tell you, it was a 10/10 but I thought it was good because I was starving. My nephew that doesn't like tacos, smashed his and also said it was really good. I couldn't stop thinking about the taco so decided to grab me two before heading back to my side of town. It seemed a little sketchy. You have to park in the back. They also have a small grocery store in the back. I was greeted when I walked in. The menu online isnt the full menu. They had a vegetarian section on the menu which I loved. The food was made fresh as you order so it was a small wait there was plenty of seating. They have a stocked fridge with different drinks. I tried the pineapple Fanta. It took me about 45 minutes to get home and my food was still warm. I smashed one taco and didnt have room for the second one. It was very filling. I've driven by many times but never stopped in until today. The first issue I had was that the parking is behind the building, and then you have to walk back around to the front door. It's not a big deal but inconvenient if it's a rainy day or when it's dark, so something to keep in mind. It was empty when I walked in except for the staff/owners. I ordered a steak burrito, no beans for my daughter, and 3 tacos (chicken, steak, and carnitas) for myself. I asked for a second green sauce, and they also gave me a red sauce, and I also got a side of rice. The food overall was good, and the tacos were loaded with meat, onion, and cilantro. My daughter enjoyed her burrito, though she said the meat was very chewy. The carnitas taco was good, and I was surprised that they included the skin, which gave the taco some juiciness. Went into there to order food. I had patronized this place before and had pleasant service. I asked for more sauce. The girl at the cashier stated it would be 15cents more then tried charging 10$ for extra sauce. When I told her that was way to much she got rude. She ran over and started chatting with a lady in the kitchen. The lady tried talking to me. She cut the lady off. I told her she doesn't have to be rude. You don't really notice it other than the big sign that says Omega Tacos. When you walk in you're greeted by a friendly staff member that's sitting behind the small order counter. My friend told me about this place and we thought we'd give it a go today. It used to be a barbecue joint--sadly I never made it there. It's a family establishment, Mom and dad in the kitchen, daughter at the register taking orders. At first glance, one can appreciate the simple yet tasteful decor. And clean? It's an immaculately clean restaurant! We ordered asada tacos, mine simply with onions and cilantro--which I think is the only way to have them; and hubs ordered the same just with all the toppings. We also decided to try a Pambazo. Plus, we got the mango ice cream drink-can't remember the name. We knew full well we couldn't eat all we ordered, but the description and photo was quite compelling! Since our order was to go--we didn't see what we got until we got home and opened our containers. Wow!!! It was impressive! Even the tacos fully dressed made me want to eat it! Needless to say, everything was delicious! Even the pambazo! DO NOT SKIP THE MANGO ICE CREAM DRINK! My goodness was that sooo good! Would go back just for that! It had mango and I tasted a hint of cucumber and the straw was coated in a sweet sticky syrup with mild chili flavor. I shouldn't have even recalled this part--because now I want it again! Had it for carry out. It's very good. I don't recall what I had but I will go back and look at the pictures. Cooked to order so it isn't super fast but you're in and out in less than 10 minutes. I ordered carry out and while I was waiting they offered me chips and salsa, which was very good. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, one of the workers ran out and gave me some free guacamole. At first glance you may not even notice this place as it's a house converted to a small restaurant in Claremont. It's the old Jimbos BBQ if you're familiar with that. As you pull in there is only one entrance and it's also the exit and it's very narrow. Only room for one car at a time. Once you get inside there is enough seating for 16 or so people. I believe there were 5 or 6 tables. You place your order at the register and have a seat. The young lady that took my order was very polite and professional. My tacos came out fast and hot. The ta os were your normal street taco size, double tortilla for $2.99 a per taco. There was enough meat to fall out of 3 tacos to make half of another taco so the potion to price ratio was decent. Tacos were good and flavorful. My plate came with limes and cucumber. Some radish would've been a nice touch. The inside is not jazed up at all. It's very simple and appealing. They had Klove radio playing overhead which was a nice change from what you get in some other places. I will definitely come back and try some other menu items. We were excited to hear a new taco restaurant was opening in the former Jimbo's. Even if Clermont already has two Mexican restaurants, I think there's enough different about Omega to set them apart. The food is unbelievably fresh and homemade- I don't think anything we tried was out of a package or fried. We tried the tostada, burrito, sopes, and pambazo. All were served with a side of charro beans and our table had a bottle of delicious green salsa. The burrito was by far our favorite. They had a large selection of sodas, including Mexican Coke and Jarittos. The dining room was clean and freshly made over with contemporary Christian music playing. They have seating for up to 16 inside and a picnic table out front. They also offer carry out. Prices are reasonable. The total for our family of 4 was about $45. While I liked my torta and piña drink. My wife liked her tacos, and we both liked the side of pickled onions/habanero. Unfortunately though we were disappointed in the quality of the the rice and elote (corn on a stick). The elote was cold, which we were not expecting. We are always used to getting warm/hot elote at every other restaurant, so that was a disappointment. Now for the rice, it lacked flavor and was bland. It just tasted like white rice with a little bit of a cube of chicken bouillon for flavor.. again not what we were expecting. I am so glad I tried this place! This is my new fave taco spot in Indy! My husband ordered a tostado with shredded beef and two tacos one chicken and one steak taco. His favorite was the steak taco. Omega Tacos is a new little family-owned restaurant in Clermont inside the old Jimbo's BBQ space that sells Mexican food including burritos, tortas, pambazos and sopes. Of course they also sell tacos. I've been twice now and was pretty happy both times. The service was very polite and they manage to keep the small dining room very clean. On my first visit, I had the pambazo and while it was good, I'm not sure I'd get it again. There was a lot going on there but I'm glad I tried it. Second time around I went with the steak burrito which was tasty and a rather large portion as I'd expect for $9.00. The next time, I'll try the tacos. People wonder if Clermont really needed another Mexican option, but Omega is not the same vibe as Three Agaves and I believe it is better (taste and value) than Sabor A Flama. The bottles of homemade salsa they give you are really good and I prefer the green chili kind. They hooked me up with some fresh habanero and red onion which elevated things a little. I agree that the rice is a little on the bland side and very much prefer the Spanish rice I had on my first visit. read more
