They had everything decorated for Cino De Mayo. It was so cute and inviting. It was a bit cold in there definitely needed a jacket. We stopped in here for breakfast after work to celebrate the holiday. They are open 24 hours so it's nice to have access to something other than fast food. I got the chorizo and eggs with rice, beans and corn tortillas. The beans and rice lacked flavor but with a little salsa or added into the taco they weren't too bad. I love the salsa bar. They have mild, med and hot. The hot had a great flavor and not too spicy. They also have limes, carrots and jalapeños on the salsa bar which was nice. The food is good here no matter what time it is when I get to order. They are one of the few places left around Indy that still has 24/7 service. I'm an Uber driver, so finding places to eat with a restroom that's open is becoming harder to do around Indy. This place is always fire no matter how late it is and they make everything fresh to order. Normally, I only get to use the drive through; however, today I got to dine-in. They had a tv with some sports on in Spanish. It was October when I visited, so they had the Dia de Muerto and Halloween decorations put up. Super cute! I love that they have a mini-salsa-buffet available for dine-in guests. Refill your own cups with the Coke machine. The have a cool little old school coin candy dispenser and high chairs available for the little ones. Every taco spot is a little different. Their corn traditional tortillas are a bit different than the taco trucks on the westside. They only give you one shell per taco (unlike most traditional locally owned taco trucks that I'm used to). We followed a group of workman in thinking it would be good. The parking lot had pot holes as big as Texas. The side door glass was broken with a sign "don't use this door". The dining room is as vintage 1970 decorated with Mexican and Christmas paper decorations. A tinsel sled turned on the ceiling fan. A caution wet floor cone sat on the drink fountain stand. There was a space heater in the dining room. Menu was on the wall and you order at the counter. The clerks are friendly and efficient. The food was disappointing. Very greasy. The chips must have been fried in old oil. They were awful. My first bite of chicken enchilada was full of gristle. The taco also greasy. I couldn't eat my meal. There is a salsa bar with mild medium and hot salsas. I give them points for fresh lime and pickled peppers. Leonardo's needs some work. read more

What a great place!!! The staff was very friendly and engaging and the natchos were perfect. Their salsa bar is still closed but they were generous in handing them out. The dining room is open now. The nachos consisted of steak, guacamole, refried beans, Pico, sour cream, shredded cheese and chips. What I loved about it besides the taste, was that they didn't just dump everything on top of chips. They layered the ingredients throughout so that every bite had a little of everything. I love Leonardo it's my go to spot for dinner while I'm at work. They are open 24 hours with drive thru. They are usually pretty fast with getting your food prepared. I usually stick to the steak taco or the fish tacos they are both really good and seasoned well. The portions sizes are just enough to fill you up. Based on reviews I had higher expectations. I went through the drive through to get some steak nachos and a coke. I was expecting the nachos to come with some kind of salsa or a salsa to be offered. They gave me a much more extensive menu at the window than what was posted where you order. Attached is the menu I was given. Big proportions and cheap. I tried the steak, egg and cheese breakfast burrito, which was huge! It was probably a foot long. Lots of egg and steak in burrito, but was a little dry. Rolled Tacos After convincing my GF that Taco Bell was a poor choice when we have such great authentic Mexican restaurants in the area, we opted for Leonardo's Mexican Food. Big mistake. The beef rolled tacos were more than just crunchy on the outside, they were like armor. And the beef inside was literally crunchy. Not to mention the two young men inside were acting suspiciously, as if they were serving this food as a prank. One was smirking, and the other one was peeking around the corner to get a look at us. Maybe they don't like white and Indian people. I'm not sure why they would serve such absolutely terrible food. No self-respecting business owner should ever tolerate food like this being handed to any customers. And any employees should not be welcome to come back if it is ever discovered by the business owner what they are handing to a paying customer. Utterly ridiculous, unprofessional, and a poor representation of authentic Mexican food. Trust me when I say I know what authentic is. South Oakland taco trucks on a Sunday, after mass, is real. This here at Leaonardo's was garbage by any measure. I sent videos to their Facebook messenger of myself stabbing my way through the tacos armored exterior, and crunching on the beef inside. They have a large assortment of combos to choose from where you choose your meat. I go with the shredded beef almost every time. MEXICAN FOOD EMERGENCY Working on the road is not always glamorous for example my day started at 5am with breakfast at a Starbucks in Hammond, Indiana. Fast forward to midnight and I've worked all day without a proper meal. Typically I'm going to go to bed hungry because there aren't many food options on the road past 10pm, unless you want crappy fast food. I truly love my Yelp app because it's there for me during food emergencies. I'm always using my filters based on my needs. Tonight I used "Open Now" which helps me filter through my available food options. I don't need to start reading 5 star reviews about a place that is closed at midnight. That never helps and I just get HANGRY!This place immediately showed up and was only 0.9 miles from my hotel. The best part is they were even open 24/7 which also gets a lifetime bookmark from me in case of another midnight Mexican Food Emergency. When I drove up I noticed four guys eating inside which is always a good sign. Empty restaurants feel scary. I also noticed the restaurant had a drive thru too which I may use on my next visit. When I went inside my eyes got huge. Everything on the menu looked fantastic. Remember I had Starbucks for breakfast about 19 hours ago. There's a good chance I'm ordering the whole menu board. I decided to get the Steak Burrito which comes the way I totally love it with just pico de gallo and guacamole. Score! I also added on an order of the chicken enchiladas. While I was waiting for my order to be made the guy at the counter pointed me to the self serve salsa bar! I was so happy to see this. I was carrying out and I packed three salsa verde, two mild red and two hot red salsas. They even provided little lunch baggies just in case you didn't put the lid on right and it opened up on your way home. I call that Salsa Safety! On a side note another Yelper blasted this place for not having any salsa. I feel bad for them because the free self serve salsa was right in the dining room. I'm not sure how you could miss this Mecca of Salsa. I loved both the medium spicy verde and the mild red salsa. I carried out my food because it's sad to eat alone at midnight plus no one can see you pigging out in your hotel room. The steak burrito was wonderful. This is how I like it. It was so simple. Grilled steak along with fresh guac and pico wrapped in a grilled burrito is the bomb. This is the only way to have it. The chicken in the enchiladas was nice too. The white meat was shredded and moist. The red enchilada sauce was also tasty and rich. I enjoyed the salad on top too. This makes the dish healthy. Right? I would definitely come back especially for late night food. Was the food here life changing? Nope but it's good Mexican. I throughly enjoyed every bite and it saved me from going to bed or eating at a gas station. Ironically before stopping here I almost bought a ramen bowl at the gas station up the road. I'm honestly glad I didn't because this meal was much better. Desperation truly sets in when your tired and hungry. I'm glad I found this 24/7 restaurant. I will always visit you at midnight when I'm working in the area. I might even use that drive thru now that I know what to order. read more

A drive through mexican food restaurant (that isn't taco bell ) would be so nice! but this does not even closely resemble mexican food, and they charged me more than their menu prices were listed. I got a churrizo burrito and added potato, and they literally put RAW potato in it. I could barely bite into. The only redeeming thing i got was the chips and queso. It was pretty good, but way over priced considering it came in the same size container they gave me hot sauce in.
