Beef birria tacos
Alison K.

Stopped in after the haunted hayride/cornmaze nearby in a group of 6 people. They were not busy as it was after 8pm at that point. We enjoyed the beef birria tacos which were big and filling, with a nice crispy shell. We also tried the chicharron yuca appetizer, also a big size. We took home some leftovers that were eaten for breakfast! The coconut lemonade was really good, though it is a little pulpy at the bottom. They were out of some of the other drinks I wanted to try but we did enjoy this one. The restaurant was bright and our server was nice. Plenty of other things on the menu I would come back to try if in the area.

Nothing fancy but what a surprise! Warm customer service. Lots of seating. Clean. Prices were decent. Lots of choices. And delicious, delicious, delicious tacos... with flour tortillas!! Yum! My favorite was the shrimp taco! Sooooo good!

The steak was incredible. Perfectly seasoned and all the sides were fresh and cooked also to perfection. Flavorful to the last bite.

A must try! Birra taco pizza! Absolutely delicious! Packed with lots of meat and hell of a lot of flavor! The owners are a wonderful young couple who are the most kind and hospitable people I've met in a long time. The decor is cute and trendy- definitely on point. You gotta try this!! Can't wait to order again

Had the pancakes with two sides breakfast. Home fries and sausage. That sound the local diners are hearing on their six? It's El Tucan, guns roaring. The delicious creamy coffee, the CRUNCHY yet tender home fries, the amazing sausage. You won't get a breakfast this good for $13 anywhere. Sincerely, it's a "Must Try"!

My family didn't know much about Hackettstown but El Tucan was recommended by someone we met in town. It's a small restaurant with several tables that serves Costa Rican food. Everything we had was good. I ordered the shrimp with rice but got the chicken instead. The portion was decent sized and salad that accompanied had a lemon based dressing. It was ok. The fries were decent. I really liked the nachos, which tasted fresh with a very crunchy consistency and two salsas that went very well with the appetizer. Overall, the place was good and the staff was very accomodating. A nice find in Warren County!

Ordered take out on a Friday night. We tried the chips and guac, birria tacos, birria burrito & a chicken quesadilla. The guac was a miss - no flavor at all. The birria on the other hand was tender and flavorful. Chicken quesadillas were decent as well! The one weird thing they did which concerned me - they put a side of MAYO with the quesadilla ... we're used to getting sour cream with these types of meals so I almost let my 3 year old dip her quesadilla in thankfully I realized before she did because she is allergic to eggs and cannot eat mayo.

i have so much to say. the food. DELICIOUS…read more the food is absolutely incredible and their pan de miga is unmatched. The way they bring out the food is amazing too, i love how they place it, its very attention to detail. The ambiance is beautiful and i love the comfy rustic vibe this place has. The staff is sooooo sweet!! They are very respectful and understanding, once i asked if i could get pan be miga to go but if they could take one out and heat it and they did! Really do recommend this place if you want breakfast/lunch! Loved this place and hope to go again and try something new!! :))

Visited for first time this past Saturday…read more Gentlemen working behind counter was super friendly, and the coffee he prepared for me was 100% excellent! Purchased a variety of Empanadas to bring home and try. Perhaps my mistake was not ordering all of them with cheese, since their are different options. , Nonetheless, I ordered the Spinach empanada, beef and cheese, chicken empanada, and the spicy chorizo. Portion control not in effect apparently. Spinach empanada was packed with way to much spinach, and unfortunately had zero flavor. Ground beef and cheese empanada was only about 1/2 way filled with meat, so much more dough than anything else. Also, average flavor. Chicken Empanada was dry, and really required a lot of sour cream, hot sauce, and cheese just to make it edible. Chorizo empanada was definitely a good one. Would not rush back, glad I tried, and again, great service. Cute little shop as well, and perhaps their other items are not hit or miss?

Sazon Latino, located on Main Street in Boonton just a few steps from the NJ Transit station, is…read moredefinitely a hidden gem. It's a very casual, cafeteria-style spot with a semi-open kitchen, but don't let the simplicity fool you -- the food is incredible and the staff here is friendly and patient. The highlight of the experience is the small buffet that features a variety of freshly-made Latin cuisine -- including pulled pork, chicken and beef stews, and other traditional Latin entrees and sides. You can build your own plate by selecting one or more entrees and sides - which are priced accordingly. As a 'gringo' who wasn't entirely sure what everything was, I really appreciated them taking the extra time to explain all the different options and give me their honest recommendations. The counterstaff is bilingual and were pretty patient with my elementary school level Spanish vocabulary and grammar. I ended up going with the pulled pork platter with two sides ($7) and it was terrific -- the perfectly seasoned and tender pork, black beans and rice, and macaroni salad were delicious and very filling. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the portions are very generous for the price. If you're looking for authentic, home-style Latino food in a laid-back setting, this is the spot! PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Sazon Latino is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Sazon Latino offers free off-street parking in a small lot behind the restaurant and there's plenty of free on-street parking on Main Street.

So upon doing my research I came across this restaurant. Now of course upon reading reviews everyone said to get there early because the line can get long especially on a Saturday and Sunday morning. So we arrived around 8:30 on Saturday and we were seated right away because it was only two of us . The service was excellent we were seated right away . Our waiter came out and gave us the rundown of the menu . They had a promo menu because of the Devil Wears Prada movie . I did get a specialty non alcoholic drink from the menu which was excellent. We ordered the French toast and the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and it came with smoked salmon on sourdough bread . The French toast was so good and moist you didn't even need to add additional syrup . The food was delicious and the portion sizes are perfect . The restaurant is cozy so if you have a big party make reservations. But you won't be disappointed I can't wait to visit Brunch by De Martino again whenever I come back to New Jersey . Please check them out you won't regret it .
