Excellent service but there is a woman with short hair and wears a cap that this woman is very disrespectful

This place is right by my work so we always order from here. It's always great and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. :)

Friday night we got there at 720, told the waitress we we sitting outside. She said ok she'll be out soon! then the waiter, cook whoever he was, rudest man ever, said we close at 8, she is to busy to help you. He was busy putting all the chairs and table away to help us! He was the nastiest person ever! When we sat down we had 40 minutes till closing time. We knew what we wanted, he had brought menus out and then I guess he decided turning away customers was ok ! This is a place we eat once a week sometimes twice! We supported them because they were local! And always topped 20 to 25 percent in cash! it amazing how I man who isn't even the owner treats people this way! We are telling everyone that we know to boycott this place all because of a waiter! read more

A great spot for breakfast, reasonably priced, country potatoes are awesome, they make a great salsa served on the side. There basic BLT is one of my favorites. The staff are regular's & friendly faces to see. Many regular customers eat here. read more

If you're in search of a good solid diner experience this place is it. We've ordered the turkey dinner and meat loaf dinner which were both excellent. A really excellent value as they are served with soup, salad bread and butter. Also the patty melt was exactly what you'd expect served with big steak cut fries. The pies are excellent too although there was not much variety. We've only had the food to go so far but the ladies who work there were super helpful, efficient and friendly. So the only reason I will give them a 2 is because the fries that we did get were good. BUT , I came into this business and ordered fries to go that cost $3.23 and got what's in the picture. I took them back because I'm like no way this is a full order. This little hole in the wall coffee shop is delicious. Old school, reminds me of the places I used to waitress at as a teen. The best hash browns in the valley. Solid biscuits and gravy. You can't beat the weekend breakfast menu at Town Cafe. I challenge you to find a better bang for your buck when it comes to rib eye steak and eggs. This meal is served with a good steak, your choice of eggs, potatoes and toast for under $11.00. It never disappoints. The 2+2+2+2 WOW... is one of my favorite all American breakfasts. You get 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 pancakes for around $6. Two of us will share a side of hash browns because the portion is that generous. I think they use coconut oil and it's really good. The staff is very friendly and will never leave your coffee cup empty for long. There's always someone walking around to refill it. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, everyone is always so attentive and seems to really like working there. read more

This place is not spectacular but it isn't the worst either. I would compare this as a very low end Denny's. Their breakfast menu is pretty basic with the basic breakfast essentials. If you're looking for a menu with turkey bacon, cage free eggs, waffles with fantastic toppings this is not the cafe for you. I would recommend this place for those looking for the straight pancake, egg, sausage, omelette. The service was good. Our waitress checked in with us to see if we needed anything during our dining experience which is a great thing. I've been coming to The Town Cafe for many years now and everyone who works there are amazing. We started going here after our favorite coffee shop closed and wanted to find a place similar to them and i know we found that here. They always treat you as if you're part of the family. The food has never disappointed. It's always good. I do enjoy going on Thursdays nights as they have corned beef and cabbage which is one of my favorites. If my parents go and my husband, son, daughter and I aren't with them they always ask how we're doing especially my son. It's nice to go to a place where you are treated as family and enjoy watching your children grow up. read more

If you want a big breakfast, this is the place for you. If you want a tasty breakfast with traditional flavors hmm, may not be the place for you. Ordered Eggs Benedict. Eggs were way overcooked, almost hard boiled, and Hollandaise sauce lacked the lemony tang it should have. Husband had biscuits and gravy, once again, big portions, but gravy was blah. lacked the sage sausage taste you would expect. I've been here a few times and generally am very happy with the service and food. However today I came and ordered from the specials menu which clearly states that you get soup and salad and potatoes (baked or fries) and when I asked about the fries the last told me it didn't come with beef stew. However the menu states it comes with the specials. Definitely misleading. read more

Again, how I would love a half star here. 3 1/2 I'd give it. Portions are generous for the price. Coffee is decent. Service is nice. Place is quaint. It's one of those places to opt for if you want pancakes, bacon, eggs and potatoes, but you don't want the craziness (and grossness) of ihop and Denny's. My daughter's burger looked delish, the fries dipped in their ranch was good. My raisin french toast left something to be desired. Eggs--can you really mess up eggs over medium? I have lived on the hills of Tujunga for 2 years now and other than fast food places along Foothill between Apperson and the 210 Fwy, there aren't many choices, that I know, of cafés or sit down restaurants to have a good omelette with home potatoes and coffee so I usually go down to the Valley to Burbank, North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, etc. to have my meals. Today I didn't feel like driving so I google for a restaurant to have breakfast and I found The Town Cafe and the pictures and comments invited me to go look for it. Yeah, I could tell that the place was old, but I wanted to be fair and give it a try. I have to say the the staff were fairly polite and helpful, including the old man cleaning the tables and offering coffee or refills. I ordered my breakfast, Vegetable Omelette with home potatoes. I was very specific about the way I like my omelette, not to be scrambled with the veggies. The waitress very attentive wrote down all the notes. When my breakfast came to the table I was quite disappointed with the omelette because the egg film was so, so, so thin that I could see the vegetables through the egg covering them, I say this because the menu reads a 3-egg omelette but mine had barely one egg altogether, the potatoes were on the greasy end of the spectrum. My omelette had spinach, mushrooms and onions, but I probably only had few leaves of spinach. The coffee was ok, but the cup where the creamers come, had trash inside from prior customers putting in there the piece of paper that they cut from the sugar envelopes, also the creamer cups had traes of coffee spilled over them and they looked old, even one of them had been used and had little creamer inside. The rest of the creamers were kind of creamy color and I was surprised because they are usually white. Not a good experience so far, especially because the window right in front of me had signs of not being cleaned in days, with several children size hand print marks. Then I went to use the bathroom and the door to the toilet was so grimey and disgusting because I held the door from the edge to close it and it was very sticky (yuck!!) and the latch had grease all over, probably from dirt from hundreds of hands touching it before me. that was not a good experience either. I think that The Town Cafe could be a great spot but ownership is forgetting the little details that make a place a wonderful place. If they do try to improve the little details I may not see it because I really don't want to come back. Omelettes at other restaurants that I go, are always fluffy with a thick egg tortilla wrapping the good amount of spinach and mushrooms. read more

Every neighborhood has a place that you can go to to get simple, solid food. The town cafe isn't going to set the world on fire with a cutting edge menu or trendy chef. But then again, I don't want them to. I want to have a place that I can call the neighborhood restaurant. For me, this is it. The service doesn't suck, the food doesn't have plastic wrap in it and the seats in the booths work just fine. I've eaten here more times than I can count and have never been disappointed. Be sure to try their breakfast burrito. That thing is a hangover killing machine! read more
