I love Town Cafe and their food. They've been renovating making it look nicer and cleaner still has a way to go but they're getting there . Every time I go in there it's so nostalgic even the food , so amazing ! We've only had a bad incident with a waitress who wanted to go home and had to be forced to serve us ? So she was kinda pressing on us ordering food . She had a nasty attitude but she left and it was all smooth sailing from there . No other bad experiences and yummy food every time . read more

I hate to be this person and leave bad reviews but I didn't sit well with this one. My family comes here all the time. I've came here before as well and it's always been a cute diner. Food has always been okay. But today I decided to take my kids both 1 and 3 years old to eat. I took my daughter out of school early to celebrate her getting an award and her lunch. We'll as soon as I got there since it was EMPTY there were like 3 people there. I decided to sit at a rounder bigger table even if it was just me and my 2 kids. I figured they'd have more room to move and not be so ancy. And already as a mom of 2 I rarely go out to eat with my kids especially by myself. So today I decided why not, it'll be quick and we're celebrating my daughter. Anyways so we sit at that table and the waitress whose name is Alicia. Told us right away "can you choose another booth" so no biggie I loved them to a smaller booth, we'll she came to give us our menus and had a Stank face the whole time. Not sure if it's just her face or bad day or what! But she gives us our menus and as I'm about to ask for a drink for the kids she saids "give me a sec" and leaves mind you I am not a picky person with customer service as long as the food is good I don't trip but the whole time her tone was so rude and I get blowing it off because it wasn't a big deal. So we order our food , we eat, I have a one year old and a 3 year. They are KIDS. They were not running around screaming, or throwing food or any thing like that they were seated and eating there food and my one year old was a little loud but he's ONE! I even cleaned up there "mess" and stacked the plates and all of that because yes they're KIDS they make a mess so I cleaned it. As I ask for the bill she brings it still with her rude ass face and I STIll blow it off, no biggie. I then get up to pay the bill, and I put my one year old down and my three year old as I'm getting my stuff ready there is a lotto machine right next to us. My one year old pressed the button and right away, not even a minute into me gathering my things she said "YOUR KIDS CANNOT PLAY WITH THAT!" In the most rudest way possible. And mind you they barely touched it it was less than 30 seconds!!! And it wasn't like I was just letting them do whatever they want I was getting my stuff so we could pay! I told her she gave me the WORST customer service. It's already stressful as it is going out to eat with toddlers. Never again will I come to this restaraunt. My family comes here all the time too. The food is alright. Service is horrible. And it was the waitress ALICIA. Not sure how you spell it. My daughter was so excited to go eat too. read more

Came here for breakfast with my Mom and really enjoyed the food here. For a pretty cheap price, they offer a good amount of home cooked food. My Mom could only eat half of her plate. I on the other hand powered through like a champ and ate the whole darn thing. The staff were nice and attentive and while we sat there a good number of cops came in to eat and drink coffee. So if safety is your thing, this place seems like a good place to check out. read more

Pretty good breakfast with specials everyday. I had a Spanish omelet and chose tomatoes over the potatoes...they gave me what must have been a whole beefsteak tomato, beautifully sliced. The food was sort of okay, but not the best breakfast I have ever had, it was pancakes, eggs, bacon...okay well done that before. Cost was okay, here are my issues with the place. It looks and feels like it is still in 1955, so the decor just doesn't lend to an appetizing experience. There was a flat panel tv hanging above our booth that was on level 20 and I could barely hear the waitress, but they did turn it down. Likely it had to be that loud for the customers who have been going here since 1955. I had to go the bathroom to wash up and the smell of pee was so strong I nearly choked. I have been coming to this place for years and have always loved it! However, it is absolutely filthy inside this restaurant now. When I was there just yesterday it smelled terrible inside. The owners clearly do not care, they still haven't put the stools back around the counter. The floors are filthy, the corners of the floors are filthy, the walls are filthy. The food is still good, I hope the owners see this and decide to give a place a deep cleaning, a makeover and show that they care. I will never be coming back here until I see you they have redone the place or have at least cleaned it. read more

I stopped here for breakfast on the way to a hike in Newhall, California. It was a good breakfast with lots of carbs but that's what I ordered. I got their paisano frittata which had pieces of ham, mushroom, and cheese on the open style omelette. I had a choice of potatoes and opted for hash browns and I chose rye toast. Service was fast and my server was friendly. She made sure my coffee cup was always filled as long as I wanted it that way. Server had horrible attitude when we mentioned a complaint she answered don't tell me tell the owner, as it was we were getting ignored and treated differently obviously from the atmosphere they seem to only cater to a certain type of race and from walking in it's able to see which one. My classmates and I just got out of our clinical sites, so we were looking for a breakfast spot because we were starving. Saw this on yelp and was not disappointed! Outside: It is under construction but there's a big sign that says they're open while it's going on. Service: As soon as we got there, the waitress told us we can seat anywhere. So we sat down by the back. Our waitress was really nice and attentive! We got our waters and coffees right away. After that, she got our orders and correctly stated what we got back to us. She was great! (I forgot her name) our waters and coffees never hit the bottom of it because she was always on top of it. Food: Let me tell you, I was looking at the mini menu they had on the table and when I saw the top sirloin for only 10 bucks, I didn't hesitate and ordered it. Ohhh boy I was not disappointed! Got it medium rare, with a side of eggs and hash-browns (although it was kinda undercooked) but it was still good! For the price of that kind of meal, you can't beat that! Parking: There's a private parking lot, although it is shared with other stores; you should have a lot of spots available. If not, side street is also available. Horrible customer service!! Yelp says they close at 8:00pm, we walked in at 7:15pm today, three of us. A guy, who appeared to be a cook, told us they're closed at 7:30pm. I said, "Then it's good we walked in at 7:15pm". He says food to go only. Then the female cashier walked up and asked how she could help me. I said "Table for three". She also tells me, "We close at 7:30". I said you have 15 minutes. She says food to go only. I told her, "So then you're not sitting us for dinner?" She repeated to go only. I said what a ridiculous business with poor customer service, and walked out. Never again! Will not recommend this place to anyone. Awesome! They had my order of 18 burritos (breakfast ham, bacon and sausage) ready at 645AM as requested. Staff was very friendly. I also ordered an oatmeal that came with milk, raisins and brown sugar--so yummy! Burritos are covered in sauce and came with beans and chips. Don't come here looking for frills! Or overly processed garbage!! The food has consistently been great (the frittatas and picado(steak or chicken) are my go-to). The servers and assists remember me and always take good care of me, whether I'm alone or not. The coffee only runs 2 something with free refills and they keep them full! I always like trying places where the locals of the town eat, so I decided to try Town Cafe before checking in to my hotel room for my little vacation in California. The customer service was alright, but they definitely cater to their regulars more (not saying it's a bad thing, but shouldn't all customers be equal?). I saw some of the staff handling food with their bare hands after touching some of the things around the kitchen (doesn't really sit well with me because it doesn't really represent good hygiene in a food establishment). As for the food, I can admit that it's much better than your chain diners (IHOP, Denny's, etc.) I'd say this would be the best spot in the area for a good sit-down breakfast. Don't expect a fancy menu here. They have all the diner classics which include: eggs benedict, country fried potatoes, pigs in a blanket, etc. I had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and 4 small pieces of buttered sourdough toast. This dish definitely hit the spot because everything was cooked to order and they gave out very generous portions at a reasonable price. Found a hair in my food and lipstick on my cup of coffee on two separate occasions ... I wasn't wearing lipstick. my mother in law loves this place so we go. The customer service is good, everyone is really nice. I did get looks from the cooks who were already wearing hairnets so I was a bit confused as to where the hair under my food came from. They replaced my food though and coffee although it did take a while and everyone was finished eating. Sooo that sucked. But the food is good for the price. The sirloin steak is a must. With your choice of a side and eggs. (Can be greasy) Can't really complain other than those two occasions.
