Since my 4 star review in 2021, we've had a bit of a love/hate relationship with this Daily Grill - to the point of deciding on our last visit a few months back to never return. Terrible service was almost ALWAYS the reason, but also some inconsistent food. Anyway, I guess never say never. Last night, during a conference that brought us to the hotel, we gave it another shot because of proximity and being too tired to venture out. I am really happy that we did come in and, although I didn't ask, it feels like there is maybe a new management team that is taking things seriously. At the very least, there is an obvious re-commitment to service and quality here. Nothing has changed much aesthetically, but they do have new menus (pretty much all of the same items) that are easier to navigate and that look great. Service, from Charles, was excellent and the bar handled drink orders really nicely. Gone was the attitude and felling of disregard we had been getting from the team in our last few visits. Much appreciated. Everything that we had was very good to excellent and we actually tried some new items. The Tuna 'Sashimi was both tasty and presented nicely. The Calamari starter was good, too. My wife's go-to favorite, the Chicken Pot Pie never fails to impress, both in taste and portion size. My Trout was delicious and our Nephew had the Filet which he inhaled, so obviously it was good. For dessert we tried the Apple Cobbler, the Berry Cheesecake and the Chocolate Lave Cake. All were tasty. So, I am hoping this means things are all getting taken care of here and they start seeing more diners enjoying the experience. read more

Perfect for an early mother's day dinner, it was quiet, service was fantastic (thanks Jackson), and everyone loved their food. Artichoke and spinach dip had lovely roasted garlic and a bit of a parm crust served with tasty crostini and carrot spears (5/5) Parm crusted mahi mahi with Parm risotto and green beans was, to quote my MIL, "fantastic" (6/5) Burger (5/5) French Dip (5/5) Ribeye flavor was phenomenal, cook was spot-on, and the asparagus had a nice ratio of char and bite. Our waitress took forever to acknowledge us finally we placed our drink orders took another 10 min for that, finally place our order and we waited over 30min we finally asked what was going on we finished our drinks before the waitress came back. The only reason for the three stars is the welcoming hospitality from the hostess and waitress. The food here is pretty standard and doesn't justify the high cost of the meals. I understand Daily Grill is convenient for anyone staying at the Marriott, but trust me when I say you're better off just walking across the street to Dennys. Dennys has more items to choose from, much cheaper, and food quality is the same. I ordered wings and their chicken sandwich and both were underwhelming. I properly won't return unless i want to grab a beer at the bar. The bar area looked comfortable and had a nice selection of liquor. The dining room is also spacious and clean. We stayed at the Marriott for a weekend convention and found this restaurant very convenient. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we ate here twice during their happy hour (3-7 pm daily). Kids are allowed to sit at the high top tables near the bar in order to order from the happy hour menu. The service was great. Our food and drinks came out very quickly and our table was checked on frequently. The food portions are pretty large, especially the kid's meals. I really enjoyed the variety of menu items offered and the drinks were good quality. The restaurant and bar is not loud and busy, so it's a good option for family dining or a place to meet up for a drink. Having a happy hour from 3-7 pm daily makes this a great option if you don't want to venture off property. read more

In regard to the service that I experienced at the Daily Grill Restaurant, part of the Los Angeles Marriott at Burbank Airport, Jaden, Jimmy, and Hugo were all very kind, helpful, professional, and very patient with all my questions about the menu. All three made everyone feel very welcomed there. Also, the charbroiled ribeye was cooked to perfection, along with my choice of two included side dishes, the parmesan risotto and grilled asparagus. It was a perfect meal. I enjoyed this meal so much that I ordered it again the following day. The carrot cake was also perfect. Very rich and moist, not too sweet. I'm from San Francisco, with its myriad of top places to eat, but had never had carrot cake there that was this rich and flavorful. The pool and bartender staff, also part of The Daily Grill, were also very kind and efficient. Thank you, Daily Grill, for making my great 3-day stay in LA an even better one! read more

Tl;dr: great concept beloved for many years is a clear casualty of the economic times, model is sadly not sustainable with current rents, food and labor costs. Long time staff provides excellent, dedicated and heartfelt experience to the best of what cost limitations in ingredients allow, with kitchen doing their best with the budget provided but not able to produce quality due to essential margin maintenance. It was painful to remember what this used to be before our way of life degraded, and to watch my server Raul work diligently and with professional sincerity, despite seeing the writing on the wall. @management: we all miss that really, really good daily grill from years back (grew up at studio city location) that epitomized the best of what a daily experience at the grill could be. Understand the current challenges, but still, can you revert concept and provide better food as you used to for just a little more money...I think people would pay for it? Maybe end the tablecloths, flowers, other recurring decor costs and reallocate to proteins / prep labor for onsite production? Not the kitchens fault, they executed perfectly. read more

I remember when Daily Grills used to be everywhere! I had heard good things about this one from Burbank neighbors, and we decided to try it out on Friday night. The best parking option is to turn in to the small lot off Hollywood Way, if you're driving north, just as you pass the restaurant. That lot is free and is specifically for the restaurant. The restaurant has a separate entrance that leads directly into the Mariott hotel. When we arrived, there were a few people at the host stand and the host seemed a little dismissive in acknowledging us, telling us it would be a 20-30 minute wait. We looked at the nearly-empty bar area and asked if we could sit there. He said "yes," but didn't tell us whether we could order food from the dinner menu there, if we had to order from the bar or if someone would come to us, or if we could still wait for a table while we sat there. We had to go back and ask these questions, and ended up just staying at the bar. The bar area had a few small screens with no-volume sports, and was otherwise pretty quiet. It could use some music and maybe some love in the decor department... it was very minimalist and felt like we were in the hotel lobby rather than a nice restaurant. Our server/bartender was excellent! I wish I caught his name. I ordered an extra-dirty martini and then an old fashioned, which he made perfectly. He was attentive, friendly, and communicated often with us. We split the popcorn shrimp, and then I ordered the amandine trout, while Paul G. ordered the turkey club. We both really enjoyed the shrimp. For my course, I could pick 2 sides, so I went with the polenta ravioli and green beans amandine to keep with the amandine theme, nah mean? Sorry, once I got going, I couldn't stop myself. The ravioli might have been my favorite part of the meal! I'd never thought of polenta in ravioli, and it was slightly sweet and super flavorful with a butter sauce. The fish was generous in portion and cooked until tenderly falling apart. Mr. G. orders a lot of turkey club sandwiches, and I usually bite each one. I think this was my favorite turkey club he's ever ordered. The turkey was moist and piled generously, the bacon was crispy, and the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh and juicy. I'm not a big sandwich person, but I'd totally order this... it would be delicious to pick up after getting off a flight! We really enjoyed the food and our server. Here's a polished but honest review you can post: Disappointing experience at Daily Grill in Burbank. I ordered the turkey club with peanut coleslaw and unfortunately it fell flat across the board. The bread was barely toasted, the bacon was sparse, and the overall flavor of the sandwich was weak and underwhelming. The peanut coleslaw lacked seasoning and looked like it had been sitting for a while. Service didn't help the situation--our server repeatedly forgot items we asked for, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. The lack of attention and energy in both the food and service made the place feel tired. Sadly, the empty dining room made sense, and I don't see myself returning. read more

Went on a Friday night around 7:30 and it was pretty busy. The bar area was packed. Was seated quickly and ordered a glass of Reisling which was quite good. Next I ordered the grilled avocado caprese which had a beautiful presentation. Not really sure if I could taste the grilled part but this appetizer was Delicious. Thick slices each of tomato and mozzarella topped with avocado and balsamic on a bed of arugula. Next came the BBQ Burger with bacon and crispy onions and sweet potato fries. They kept it simple and it worked. The burger was cooked perfectly medium and the toppings were well balanced. Lastly was an amazing Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake was dense as a carrot cake should be and beyond yummy I love Daily Grill. The service is Always great and this time was no exception. Booths are roomy and offer some privacy. This place is great up grade to your options especially if you usually do chain restaurants. Quality, atmosphere and service are all above par here! read more

Daily Grill is all chill, no frills casual laid-back chic. They have a huge dining space, private room for events and large bar area. It's definitely got a touch of sports bar energy but in a very regal way, minimalist decor with inviting lighting, warm earthy tones and some signage for specials like their happy hour Located across from the Burbank Airport (my favorite airport), the DG has it's own main entrance and restaurant set-up directly off Hollywood Way, but also is connected to the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel - you can actually see the hall directly to the hotel just left of the main entrance for Daily. Entire place is clean, well spaced out and the service is genuine. I attended a uniform club formal event here with my boyfriend's group. We had a small banquet room (across from the bar area) with a U-shaped table configuration making it easy to share our orders and staff to serve. Our server was an amazing guy (whose name escapes me... Dominic... Will... I'm way off - young twenty something brunette-ish). He served us everything and being a group of at least 20 I was impressed - he got help once from another server passing by, but honestly didn't need it. Being in a group and them having planned ahead the prefix menu was a streamline of courses offered by the Grill of some of their best dishes. The spinach and artichoke dip was a hit w/ sourdough crostini. I had at the veggie accompanying them (carrots). Mixed green salad stellar, big - a perfect set up for entrees - balsamic all day for dressing. The selections for the Chicken Piccata (mashed potatoes + grilled asparagus), Pan-Seared Salmon (brown rice + grilled asparagus) or Grilled Skirt Steak (mashed Potatoes + grilled veggies) were had by some of each. The Steaks and Salmon seemed to be the best of the options for those enjoying. My guy is a huge seafood person so his really enjoyed his meal. For the veggie option I was offered a huge Angel Hair Pasta Pomodoro which was incredible, but quite the messy dish. Thankful I was in "leather" (vegan leather) formal wear to my shirt was the easiest thing to clean off, but wow so much rich sauce w/ chopped tomatoes, garlic, basil, extra virgin olive oil and they added some veggies in the mix. I enjoyed it immensely as I knew this was one of the vegan options at daily grill aside from their Pesto Pasta, many of their sides and some salads. Great drink selection from wine to beer to a great bar, soft drinks, classic sips and more... like zero proof cocktails/mocktails and brews (Heineken and Samuel Adams). Definitely a fan and hope to dine in soon for a group function, happy hour or social night, maybe even a date night ;) Serving up travellers and locals from 6:30am until 10pm all seven days of the week. Q Tips: ADA compliant entrance as well as accessibility. Restrooms are clean and easy to access. Parking can get a little full on certain days/nights - but there is more for the hotel also - it's a little more restricted than before as you could easily drive in and out of most area for the hotel or the convention center. This dining experience started out to be a nice experience with drinks for my wife and me! The skirt steak salad that I ordered was not to my liking! The meat was as cold as the salad ugh . I sent it back while my wife tried to enjoy her chicken tacos , I say try because her food was also lukewarm! But she didnt want to complain again . I stayed at the hotel for a convention. The first night I sat at the bar and grabbed some drinks and dinner and everything was great. The two bartenders were really nice and helpful. The next day I went for breakfast and it was a complete disaster. I'm assuming they knew a convention was at the hotel all weekend, so you think they would prepared. The restaurant was pretty empty, maybe 8 tables filled. I was told it would be a 35 minute wait. Im like what?! I decided to stay and wait since the only other food choice was the other bar that didn't open till 11. I waited for about 10 and then decided I should just walk across the street to Dennys. I asked the girl to take me off the list, the manager was there and asked why. I said I was told it's gonna be about 35 mins, has the time shortened? He said it's only about 5 minutes, I said that's not what she told me. She said I told you that a long time ago. I said no, you told me that 10 mins ago. Very unprofessional. I said ok I'll wait then. So then I got sat a few minutes later and sat at the table for another 10 mins with no acknowledgment from anyone. No hello, no water, nothing. So I went back up to the stand and said I'm leaving as I don't have a server. What a mess of a place. Only giving 3 stars due to the food service the first night, otherwise..terrible! Is this the last of the Daily Grills? I've eaten here many times when I did the Hollywood Autograph shows. It's always of high quality, service is always great, and there are many great choices on the menu. I love their meatloaf, their BLTA on sourdough, their great popcorn shrimp, very good clam chowder and Caesar salad, and chicken pot pie. Had 'em all (not at the same time) and all were excellent. The ambience is nice and I don't personally give a flying Wallenda about the sports bar. Although I am a sport, I hate sports, which is only exceeded by my hatred of Indian food. So, if you're in the nabe, killing time before a flight, attending the autograph show (if so, I might just be there), or staying at the hotel, you really can't go wrong with the Daily Grill. read more

I don't know many hotels that have restaurants within the hotel, let alone one that serves amazing food! We ended up having to stay at the marriot in burbank because of the fires, we stayed for a total of 3 days, two nights. We ate here for dinner once and then breakfast twice. There are a few ways that you can eat here: you can dine in (plenty of tables/booths, bar seating), order room service or online for pick up. I dined in and ordered online for pick up (to avoid the room service charge). The first breakfast I ordered were the waffles, and made sure to order all the toppings on the side so it wouldn't make the waffle soggy. For dinner I ordered an impossible burger for pick up (ordered online, and it was very easy). Our last breakfast we dined in again, and I ordered a mocha and a veggie omelette. The great thing about dining in AND having a room, you can choose to bill your room or pay on the spot. Overall all staff were extremely friendly and i would eat here, even if I weren't staying here! read more

The short rib bordelaise with risotto and gremolata carrots (had to look this up as never heard of it before here! lol) is ONE OF THE BEST MEALS I'VE EVER HAD. And I have ordered it over and over and the quality is always SPOT ON. They have delicious clam chowder, calamari is cooked perfectly (it has PEPPERCINIS so a bit different!), Chop House burger is perfect, Reuben is GREAT, but again - that Braised Short Rib is the STAR!! read more

For food: Chicken wings - excellent Chicken picatta - shockingly good Drinks - great (who knew DG could make a damn fine martini!) Arugula lemon salad - the only disappointment of the meal, but... The night we were here was the crazy LA wind storm, and power went out just before we got our food. I can't say enough about how well the staff handled the situation, especially our waiter Charles. Everyone remained calm and professional, and was even in good spirits through the unfortunate situation. The green great place to relax in the bar and grab a bite while watching the football game. I've had their pasta pomodoro and I wasn't impressed. Sensible menu -- waitperson "Brian" was totally awesome, professionally accommodating a large Hollywood group.

The staff is kind but service slow and it's a bit over priced for the quality of the food. I've had better steaks for less at BJ's Restaurant. But the atmosphere is nice and it's convenient if you're staying at the Marriott and don't want walk across the street to Denny's which has far more reasonable prices. There's also a Panda, Del Taco, McDonalds, Togo's across the street. If you looks small owned businesses then there's also a fish place and Japanese restaurant tucked in the corner of the same parking lot across the street closer to the airport. Visited while staying at the Marriott near Burbank Airport, and really appreciated the quiet vibe. I ordered the spinach and sausage scramble with potatoes. The potatoes had peppers and onions, and the flavor of this meal was perfectly balanced. I asked for salsa and they brought some of the best green salsa I've ever tasted, very fresh. Stayed at the LA Airport Marriott, Burbank and decided to grab a bite to eat. We sat at the bar which was absolutely desolate. Our bartender, Ryan, was friendly and very accommodating. We watched Sunday Night Football while enjoying some okay food and drinks. I started with the Louisiana chicken wings. Nothing special, flavor was decent, spice (heat) level was medium. I then ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was cooked perfectly, however, it was nothing to write home about. Kind of reminded me a bacon western cheeseburger. I actually think a BWC would've been better. The highlight was the espresso martini made by Ryan. It was chilled, creamy, and very refreshing. Would I come back, probably not. So I decided to try the breakfast, sometimes folks need a second chance. Welp, there won't be a third. I ordered the Two Eggs any style with country potatoes and sourdough. I ordered "over medium" and received "over easy." The potatoes were over cooked and the "sourdough" was, white bread. And to top things off, there was a nice little hair atop my eggs. read more

*EDITED* after posting this review, I saw a page that lists the number of violations this restaurant has received from the health department. I would NEVER have eaten there had I seen those violations. Original review: Important considerations for your visit to the Burbank Marriott: the building that houses an independently operated restaurant called the Daily Grill. I attended a conference there and needed some planning time so instead of joining the large dinner, I opted to dine at the hotel restaurant which was busy, but quiet. We had reservations and were seated immediately. My friend ordered the loaded mac n cheese and a salad. I ordered the chicken piccata. Well... about four-five hours later, I was suffering from abdominal pain and a nasty bout of food poisoning. As a result of this incident, I had to survive on plain crackers and water the next day while I managed 100 volunteers. Desperate for calories, I attempted to eat dinner, a few bites and that was all I could tolerate. The next morning, I missed my flight home. I outreached to the hotel through appropriate channels and received an email from a legal representative with a long list of their safety checks from delivery to cooked and plated. I worked in food service for years, I am not going to discredit their logs, but in my personal experience a busy kitchen does not stay on top of them. I simply wanted my expensive Uber ride to the new airport and the meal I could not enjoy the following evening reimbursed. Understandably, they must do an investigation, but the request to put others in contact with them is more of a headache than it's worth and frankly had the appearance of trying to point the finger on food borne illness from the hotel not their restaurant. To ask other guests, who by the way also got sick from chicken in a different part of the hotel, is unreasonable, my roommate was with me and she watched me suffer through it. I know where I ate and when, I eat very little and dinner is my main meal of the day. I know the timing and can positively attribute it to the restaurant. If a few attendees also were sick from undercooked chicken on a different event, that is a separate issue and not related to my experience. Since the hotel and the restaurant are independently operated, if you are a hotel visitor you may want to reconsider eating at this restaurant at all and look for other local restaurants. Highly disappointing this was how it was handled. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. read more
