Food was good. Staff is very rude! Had an older lady server and she got mad that we asked for bacon after we said cheeseburger instead of bacon cheeseburger, WHILE she was still taking our order. We have been to Waldenburg bar many times. We've always enjoyed ourselves, and the food was always really good & reasonable (especially for bar food). This last visit was a different story. Menu prices have gone up quite a bit. I do understand that most restaurants have increased food prices but $9.00 for a Philly cheese sandwich with only meat and a small piece of cheese. Where were the mushrooms and onions?. I asked the waitress about it. She said oh I'm sorry you didn't specifically ask for that. She told me the owner said to only put that on if people ask, Really? I've had that sandwich many times and have never had to ask. Hubby had a mushroom Swiss burger, he said it was good but still quite a jump in price. There were 6 of us. We waited for our food for probably 30 to 45 minutes. , before the waitress came back and said the cook lost our ticket and she needed to take our order all over again. No more nachos or deep fried cauliflower (our favorites)...it will probably be a while before we go back. read more

Finally done.. staff is just down right nasty. Love the owners, they are solid. But the bartender (frumpy woman with glasses) that was working on the eve of 2/2/24 was a sarcastic a-hole. All we asked was if our 20 year old son could sit at bar with us (as the place was packed). The reply was a laugh, and then the "ahhhhhhh yea" like we were complete idiots for asking a question.. I have lived in the are for the past 16 years and for the first 8, i drove by here many times and thought nothing of it. the Waldwnburg is a little "hole in the Wall" bar that every local should be experiencing! We started coming here on Weds nights to play Sporcle Live Trivia with Trey. We had no idea that first time that we would become regulars. When we first started coming there were a few teams that played. But now it's a full house every week. When you first come in, its nothing special really. A typical bar of this type. But what makes it so special are the owners and the staff. We got to know the owners through trivia. They are just down right good people. They are members of the local community and they care about their customers. You can tell they care about their staff too. I have been here during the week, by myself to stop in for a drink, and enjoy some conversation with the regulars or the bar tender, and also on a busy Weds for trivia. What is amazing is coming on a Friday or Saturday evening and the entire bar is transformed. It gets completely packed! It's full of kareoke folks. There doesn't seem to be a limited age demographic either. There is everything from 21- 70 something. Oh. I forgot to mention the deals. You can grab a cheap beer or drink here for sure. If you get first or second place at trivia, you get a gift card (it's free to play so that's a win!). Also, don't forget to grab something hot off the grill. It's typical bar food nothing super special, but I think they have a special ingredient because the food is always delicious. And if it's not, the owners will go back and fix it themselves. So this place is not much from the outside, or from the inside for that matter, but they do have some good food. Went with the burger and WOW, it was good....finally a good burger somewhere other than Rec Bowl and the Raft. The fries were crisp and good. As for the mozzarella sticks I'd say pass. They are the junky square frozen kind; if you're a mottz stock aficionado you'll know what I mean). I also tried the grilled cheese cause I guess my tapeworm kicked in, haha. It was prolly the best grilled cheese I've had in a long time other than my own. I'm used to getting pretty crappy grilled cheeses in bars and restaurants, but finally someone did it right. The atmosphere at Waldenburg is what separates this from other "small local bars." The wait staff is personable and cheetah-like quick. One time I left my credit card by accident and someone on staff tracked me down the next day via the telephone to inform me of my blunder. The karaoke DJs are amazing as well. They do a great job of fairly rotating singers and energizing the crowd. The food is... "decent" but I wouldn't come here if you're expecting a gourmet meal. It's a fantastic bar with great beer specials, killer karaoke, a great vibe, great service, etc.; average food is a small sacrifice for all the positives Waldenburg has to offer. read more

Over the past year, I have visited this little bar a few times. Just driving by you really wouldn't notice it or you may even think it's closed down. The bar looks out of place considering the new neighborhoods and strip malls surrounding it, but trust me, Waldenburg has stood the test of time. Walking thru the doors, I was shocked at the rather small size of the bar and the overall decor is stranded in the 1980s. What this spot lacks in aesthetics, trust me, is overshadowed by the energy of the staff and patrons. Each time I have visited, I am shocked at the number of people who pop in and out for cheap drinks and basic bar food. I have tried a few things off the menu: grilled ham and cheese and the chicken sandwich. I enjoyed my food and so did my friends. The waitstaff are my favorite part of the visit. They make a special effort to get to know you and go out of their way to remember your name. Service is spot on and drinks are served faster than you can put your glass down. I hope this little spot stays true to itself. We have enough expensive, hyped up bars in this area already. The charm here is simplicity and service! read more

I appreciate a tried & true dive bar, that sticks to it's guns and keeps it divy-ness without becoming a sh@t hole. This place is that. It has a fried food menu, and cheap drinks. Hubby and I actually caught a drink here while waiting for our table at Testa Barra, and walked out with a $7 tab for 2 drinks, which is double at TB. The TV's are small, but it definitely has a welcoming atmosphere. I'll catch drinks here again definitely while waiting to be seated at TB. read more

The drinks and the staff are lacking. I was greeted by the female bartender who commented that I wasn't smiling. I jokingly responded by saying that I'll smile after I see how strong she pours my drink (vodka and tonic - house vodka). Well, she came out of role and told me that "she was the owner and is here to make money so I won't like how she pours my drink." She was right. It was as if she dipped the rim in vodka and just added tonic. She could have just pretended to accommodate me or gave me the 20 cents more of the Mohawk Vodka for which I would have stayed longer and tipped more for the favor. I didn't have high expectations based on other reviews. But geez, if you can't pour a vodka tonic at least have some tact. read more

The Waldenburg Bar is a small bar that we have performed reconnaissance missions at numerous times. If we had to think of a true dive bar this is the bar that comes to mind. What I mean by this is smoking inside, old school jukebox, and darts. The Heartbreak Kid ordered the mushroom and swiss buger, loaded with lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions. Burger - 3 Price - 3.5 Service - 3 Overall - 2 The Silver Fox ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Cheap beer and food if thats what you look for, but as soon as you walk in, if you are under 40, you will be mean mugged and stared at for the majority of your stay by the locals and the worker will try to hurry you out as soon as possible. read more

I came in at the end of the night, I knew it was last call. I had just got off work from a bar near by, came to meet some friends for last call. I was never offered a drink, bartender was yelling at guests to cash out and made a comment about people coming in at 2 am. I was here at 1:40. Then I proceeded to watch her serve 2 other people and the other bartender poured shots for someone and she yelled at her. So I asked if I could be served a beer and I was told no, I know I came in late but I wasn't even greeted or offered a drink. It's a typical dive bar. This place was here looong before all the subdivisions around it so you definitely get the vibe of being out in the country. The drink prices are probably the lowest around but the service isn't the greatest. I think it's definitely worth a try if you enjoy these types of bars but don't expect anything incredible. read more

Don't come here if you like a mixed drink/cocktails . They are afraid to, or refuse to give you the liquor that you pay for. The first round of drinks barely had alcohol in them. We complained to our waitress. To keep this from happening a second time we requested a Shot with a chaser. The shot glasses showed up containing little more than 1/4 a Shot. After being ripped off for two rounds of drinks we left. It looked like it could have been fun with karaoke and the dive bar feel. But take my advice and only order a beer. read more

If you love religious, censored karaoke, this may be the place for you. If you don't sing loudly or use any inappropriate language, this is the place to be. The drinks are weak and the service is slow. They will however keep serving people until they are sloppy, fall over drunk. read more
