    The pancakes are HUGE
    Rachel C.

This place is popular! We ordered pancakes to go, and it took 30 minutes for them to be ready, which would have been fine but they originally quoted me 10 over the phone. The pancakes are HUGE, and super fluffy and thick. You really only need one, and even finishing that will leave you full for a while! My husband ordered the sausage and said it tasted better than he'd had in a long time. COVID: the tables are inside and are close together, and no one wears a mask, not even the staff. To get your takeout, you still have to go inside the packed restaurant. There are no signs anywhere even recommending a mask or hand washing. Being here was probably the least safe that I've felt in terms of COVID since it all started in March.

Bacon cheese burgers, fresh cut fries, onion rings all cooked to perfection!

Doesn't look like much when you walk past but I'm here to tell you the train station is an amazing little hole in the wall in Castanea! I do have to say I just had the best burgers I've had at any of the restaurants around this area and that is saying a lot. Don't drive past this place you'll miss a great burger and the prices are priceless! Give this place a try you will definitely not be disappointed.

Ham and cheddar omelette with homemade toast

This tiny diner delivered a really delicious breakfast. Be patient because there is one person cooking - at least today - but it was worth the wait. The pancakes are enormous and really fluffy with great flavor. The most important thing you must know is that they offer homemade bread as one of their toast options. It's amazing! My omelette was great but I like a thin, griddle omelette which is what they offer. If you're looking for a thick, fluffy one this one is not for you. My sister ordered "the train wreck" and thought it was completely worth the $14 price except she could only eat half of it. Don't hesitate to eat here.

This is what my six foot tall, very hungry grandson left behind of his breakfast.

A must visit for the pancakes alone, they are huge and tasty, barely used any syrup. Service was great too!

No one explained where anything was or directed us to things. Pricing in my opinion is a bit high especially for the very few things to do there. They have a nice corn maze but, it's not for their ages really. The attractions they have there are very outdated and for the price they charge they could use it to do a few upgrades. It's been over 9 years since I've been there and it's definitely gone down hill from then and uphill on that cost. Though have to say their restrooms outside were more up to date than the environment there for sure. If I was pricing things I would have it as follows Adults ages 13 and up $15 Ages 5-12 $8-10 and 3-5 $5 and 3 and under Free. That's just my opinion for the attractions. But as you see in pictures I have sign of pricing from there. And last note we had to put our own wristbands on so we could've just walked in and said we lost them in maze if we wanted to do that but we didn't but that shows how much the people pay attention at the point of entrance. And as for a petting zoo there that's a few ducks and one goat. And no food to feed them as those machines had a post it note on it stating "Out of Order!" So, to say we will be back is more towards the NO unless they were to update things and that's update it a lot.

I had a great lunch with an awesome Rueben and shoe string fries. Home made corned beef on an excellent marbled rye. FYI The fries were a little cold. I also considered biscuits and gravy but they don't serve home fries after 11:00, odd for a breakfast all day place. The banana bread French toast also caught my eye so I grabbed a slice of banana bread to go. Service was fast and friendly Prices are in line with the "new normal", sandwich and a drink was $16.

The ambience was bright and clean. Pricing was reasonable. Our server was new and attentive to our experience. The food was OK. My wife asked for her Florentine eggs Benedict to come out hard and they were soft. She had to send them back to the kitchen for additional cook time. My eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and the ham was good and the highlight of the dish. The hollandaise sauce however was watery and on the cool side. The hashbrowns were average. The star of breakfast was the corned beef hash, simply top notch. We will return for a second experience.
