Amazing workout and no matter how many times I go it always gets me gassed. Best gym in NYC!

If you're weak, that's fine -- this class will definitely help fix that. If you're weak-minded though, this class may not be for you. The instructors are awesome people, but they don't play around once the timer starts. You'll be pushed to your limits, you'll be dripping sweat all over the floor, and you'll certainly be feeling sore the following day. If you're looking for a challenge or just looking to get your fitness back up, give this gym a try. Lockers, towels, and loud fun music are all provided -- just bring your water bottle and inner beast. read more

High intensity workout. But remember, no pain no gain. Class usually have 4 sections: warmup, multiple rounds of circuits training and 1 round of core work and then stretching. Usually u will get time after only warm up, but the class has great energy! A lot of the people have been coming for a long time and know each up and cheer each other up, and energy is the most important thing of training. I had Matt as my instructor, very good at welcoming new members and demonstration of each movement so you know exactly what to do and how to do it correctly to get the most benefit. I cant remember anything bad about either the studio or the class. 5 stars for sure. Sore on the next day is a no brainer. read more

Well Where Do I Start? How about my arms feel like jello or I'm struggling to put on my coat ? Prior to stepping through the doors, I had the pleasure of emailing Ruben And Colter who actually convinced me to walk through the door with their kind words. I described to them that i was an complete ROOKIE who has not been to the gym in two years ( I have an 10 month old). Even when I did work out I NEVER pushed myself that hard. This workout is not for the faint of heart, i wouldn't say that it is not for beginners but I will ABSOLUTELY SAY it is well worth it. I had a class Today at 1:30pm with Brian. He was nothing short of amazing, the energy and encouragement. The MODIFICATIONS thank gosh because I couldn't have made it through without it. The class was super hard but so worth it. Honestly beginners should give a shot and put your best foot forward. I do look forward to participating again and just getting stronger as time progresses. . This place is a GEM. Also. This is my favorite workout. I've been training with Ruben since he had warrior fitness Boot Camp. This is even better. He and the other coaches are fantastic at motivating everyone and I'm in the best shape of my life at age 38. While similar to Warrior fitness, there are several notable improvements. Sleds, assault bikes, and more weight training means more calories burned and more muscle built each class. I have two herniated discs and all the instructors are sensitive to the needs of injured athletes who need to modify workouts. I recommend the training lab to anyone who wants to lose weight, and get shredded. You will also have a blast. (Added bonus - the showers/locker rooms are always kept clean.). read more

Best workout in NYC. I love all the instructors, and although I have legit started tearing up during a class because of the struggle, it has been worth it. The burpees, bear crawls and sprints somehow never get easier, but I keep coming back. These people know what they are doing. I just wish there were more specials or discounts available. This is simply the best and most innovative workout in NYC, created by a pioneer in the fitness industry who gets the most out of every participant in class regardless of conditioning or strength . The training lab has it all, top notch instructors who make the experience fun and brutally challenging for everyone, a group class with personal attention during the class in a brand new facility that is beautifully equipped , comfortable , clean And provides the best and most consistently fun workout I have ever experienced and I've been to every major facility in manhattan numerous times. Ruben is a special person, when you go you'll figure that out quickly , colter kicks just as much ass so we have intense marines dedicated to helping us change our life through fitness and exercise . The equipment and use of space is sublime, every class is unique so it is always fun and challenging with physical results that come quickly and improve my life energy just as fast. Cash me at the training lab 4-5 times a week , a bunch of my hardcore friends tried and all signed up because like everyone says, this is the best workout and facility in manhattan. Great class schedule from 5:30am to 7:30pm everyday. Studio has everything with ample spaces. My favorite is Daria. She keeps class non-stop and motivated. My only complain is book early because for "good schedule" class is always full. read more

I've been coming here for about 3 months now and every workout has been really great. The instructors are really good at making every workout really unique so it not only keeps you interested and engaged but it also works your body in different ways every time. Because of scheduling and availability, I generally only make it to Daria's classes on Sundays. She's been a really great instructor. read more

LABRATS! I initially started to train here because I wanted to stay active during a 3 weeks off from my regular Muay Thai training. Now, there's no way I can stop coming to TTL. I'm addicted! I've been sore after every session I've taken. The soreness ranges from the good kind of, "hey, my shoulders are achy, I'm going to have awesome shoulders to show off in the summer" to the bad kind of, "I wish there was a handicap bar in my bathroom at home because I'm struggling to sit down, if only I were a man and could pee standing up." But either way, I'm sore somewhere every time. Under the ever watchful eyes of Ruben and Colter, I'm sweating hard and I'm building all those different muscles! The instructors pay close attention, advising corrections in form when needed, and they do a hell of a job pushing you to your limits. I'm looking forward to becoming a stronger version of myself. Amazing class. I've been about 15x now and all the instructors are top-notch. The class is not for the faint of heart. I'm usually exhausted by the end of the warmup but the instructors are all very encouraging and you end up feeling great by the end of the class. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who needs to jump start their workout regimen. read more

I hit this suave new studio a couple times when visiting New York. Im a big fan and need one when Im sweating out there. Reuben and Colter are great coaches, pushing you pretty hard, giving you some grief when you sneak a rest but its fun. The studio is great, clean, spacious, excellent equipment. Its primarily oriented towards a boot camp style workout but has sleds, fury bikes, rowers, and a full complement of weights. Nicely equipped with shower facilities including towels and amenities. Filtered water and unfiltered exertion await you! I have worked out with the coaches at prior digs and am so pleased that they have come up with this new studio. I initially bought a class pack on Pulsd, thinking I wouldn't come back because the classes are out of my price range. But I became addicted and they're definitely worth the price! Every trainer seems to have a different style, and you may have to try a few before you figure out who will give you the best work out. Going up the stairs alone can be intimidating at first but the trainers and clients alike are super motivational, and I always leave feeling stronger than when I walked in. read more

Great studio where they will implement to your workout weight training part , as a person who didn't lift on my own much I found The Training Lab extremely helpful in that , plus strength classes are great in developing form and correct way of weight lifting . Took my first class yesterday and I can honestly say it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I have never sweat that much in my life! I am used to workouts like SPIN ( Swerve) and Barre ( POP Physique) so this was def the complete opposite. The atmosphere is "bootcamp" like and the instructors encourage collaboration and team work. I took a class with Matt and he is tough however it is worth it! You leave class feeling exhausted but that is a sign you pushed your body! 5 starts because I truly feel like you work all body groups and sweat your life away. read more

I dropped in here on a recent work trip for the 6am class and I absolutely loved it. I do crossfit and lagree currently so I love variety, intensity and challenges and The Training Lab delivered. The coach was super friendly and encouraging but still was tough so you actually kind of hated him during class - the perfect mix. The day I was there we did a lot of sled work which I LOVE. If I lived or work nearby I'd for sure be a regular here. Thanks to the Training Lab for kicking my butt. I loved it! read more

The Training lab is my newest workout obsession in NYC! It is consistently the hardest workout I partake in (and I am pretty fit, if I say so myself!), and I am always completely dead at the end of the hour. Every instructor has their own unique teaching style, and they are all top notch. Class members are always rooting each other on, and very supportive. This class really pushes participants to their limit and as a result, you leave feeling so accomplished! Every day of the week is a different focus (dead lifts, squats, over head press, etc) and usually has a barbell component. And be warned- you also might run outside around the block...possibly carrying a water jug or medicine ball! Come prepared to sweat and do not miss this spot! read more

Training Lab can best be described as the love child between a military style boot camp and athletic conditioning. The workouts vary from day to day, but there are definitely a few constants: you're going to sweat, your heart rate is going to elevate and you're going to be tested regardless of fitness level. The trainers do a great job of mixing up the programming and blending hiit, sprints, calisthenics and weightlifting all within an hour. They also excel at giving the right personalized attention and getting the most out of each athlete. The locker room space is tight but functional and there are only two showers so just be sure to plan ahead if you're short on time or running to work in the morning post workout. I'd recommend the gym to anyone looking to mix things up and get out of their normal, boring gym routine. read more

Amazing gym! Ruben & everyone at the Lab are incredible. If you want to see yourself transform, this is the place! You'll amaze yourself with how quickly you become stronger. Many of us set our own mental limits and personally it takes a lot to break me of mine but this has been the one studio that has pushed me beyond my self-imposed limitations making me stronger, faster and more capable. While each instructor has their own teaching style (to which I have absolutely no complaints and only positive things to say), the one commonality is they each are able to determine when I can be better and push/encourage me to be better. As a ClassPass user for many years having tried many of NYC's best studios, this has been the sole place where I bought a package and continue to buy packages time and time again. Outside of the instructor and studio experience, the people are extremely encouraging regardless of your fitness level and they cheer you on throughout class. Most challenging workout in NYC hands down. Ruben and Colter are motivating and encouraging, they can tell when you need to be pushed and when you need some assistance but they won't let you get away with any slacking! The facility is top notch and the other athletes treat you like a teammate and friend despite the fact that they might not have ever met you before. You might feel slightly intimidated walking in your first time but rest assured you will be exchanging high fives with the rest of the crew in no time. The culture at TTL is different than most gyms, everyone in the class is competitive but also wants to see you succeed, I have found that this is the best combination for motivation because it forces you out of your comfort zone to find the best version of yourself. read more

Best and freshest workout in NYC! Ruben and Colter are two badass dudes who will kick your ass and motivate you to push to your max. The facility itself is really nice with a dope industrial feel, great changing and shower facilities, and most importantly with an awesome variety of different ways to workout from weights, to boxes, rowing machines/air bikes, to indoor astroturf, kettle bells etc. The toys they have are sick! The Training Lab is one of the nicest workout spaces you'll ever go to, but don't let that fool you, because as soon as you walk in the door, expect to put work in. Ruben an Colter will make you do things you didnt know were possible, or that you could do, and you will be pushed by the rest of the class, as everyone is a team for the 55 minutes of class. Having known these guys for a few years, its amazing to see how they have restructured their plan for this amazing new space, and have made the classes more fun, unique and definitely harder. Most importantly, is that that they make the classes accessible to anyone, regardless of fitness level or injuries. Anyone can come into the lab and start working and get on a plan that works for them, regardless of your limitations. I have 2 herniated discs in my back and have had problems for years, but over the last few months have seen that pain start to slowly disappear, while feeling much stronger.
