While a traveller sets out to discover the world, guests at The Traveller go on a culinary journey via the tastes and textures of a varied and international menu. With those expectations set, the ambience is a meld of many cultures, and the staff is representative of that as well.
We made reservations for Saturday evening, and were seated right away. The restaurant was crowded and busy.
We started with traveller bread, crisp toasted pita with curry hummus garnished with pomegranate. This was warm and flavorful. We also split crispy chicken gyoza served with wonderful garnishes.
One of us ordered the ribeye, which had a good flavor. It went well with the fries (perfectly done). I ordered Ha Kau, which were prawn dumplings in coconut and sesame. These seemed a bit rubbery. I also ordered De Bourgondier Bitterballen (croquettes) which were hot, crispy and creamy inside with tender beef filling. We also ordered Sea Bass with shrimp pangsit and bokchoy. This was very well seasoned but a bit spicy. It was fun to sample the other dishes. read more
