My first time to the Triple Door last night for the Children of the Revolution concert and I was very impressed both with the venue and the concert!! I really liked their seating arrangements- our table was a few rows back from the stage, but we still had an unobstructed view of the stage except for the idiot couple sitting at next table who insisted dancing in front of our table. I went to The Triple Door last night as a 'girls night out.' We were so excited to see a burlesque show, but the excitement wore off about an hour after we were seated. The venue was amazing, our waiter was GORGEOUS, but that didn't not make up for the lack of service. It took us an hour and a half to get appetizers, and then they served us all our drinks, but forgot my friends. The show itself was kind of uncomfortable, and not because of the nipple pasties. The story they were going off of is about a French man who hit a 15 year old girl with his car, and then they fell in love. And it's about this girls sexual journey into womanhood. Needless to say, they had her chained to a bed at one point, with five guys rubbing their hands all over her. It felt like a portrayal of gang rape. Bottom line, the first half of the show was fun, second half weird. I will definitely go see another show there, but now I know not to expect good service. read more

Despite a great show, I have to say that I was very disappointed with my experience at the Triple Door. We were placed at a table near the elevator shaft and I had a cold draft blowing on me the entire evening, I wore my ski jacket with the hood up the whole time I was there so could not ever get comfortable. All that was done for this was a shrug and expressed sympathies. Maybe put a barrier between the elevator shaft and guests? Something? My discomfort did not end there. While ordering both appetizers and drinks at the same time, we were finished with the appetizers before the drinks even arrived. All following drinks took what felt like 15 minutes to arrive (I did not time it as I was trying to enjoy a show while shivering in my ski jacket). The server was nice and personable, my water was always full while we waited on cocktails (perhaps he was frustrated with how long drinks took as well, I was under the impression that he was helpless to make the drinks come out sooner and do anything about the draft). Chunks of player were missing from the ceiling and the bathrooms smelled bad. I've been coming to the Triple Door for this show for years and this was the first time I literally felt the experience was subpar. I will have to think hard before deciding whether to continue this tradition next year. read more

Bartenders in the Musicquarium were awful. Horrible service and very rude. Music was good but they ruined the whole experience. Plenty of other places to go, would not recommend this one. read more

The Triple Door still gets top acts and great entertainers . But as far as food goes, every time they "update" their menu it just gets worse. (Obviously The Wild Ginger has nothing to do with their menu as it did in the past). One of the most popular small plates was their Potstickers and now they are totally gone from the menu. None of the original Thai dishes and several other menu choices have just disappeared. Even their wonderful coconut ice cream is no longer advertised, although we did manage to get some, we probably won't be so lucky next time. If you are going to a show here ....eat elsewhere and preferably The Wild Ginger upstairs. Also the bar service has really deteriorated in The Musicquarium Bar downstairs. We always have had a drink before the show and in the past usually the ill fated Potstickers too. Although there are lots of wait staff hanging around behind the bar counter you will still wait ages to get their attention, and we were sitting at the BAR read more

I thought I liked the Triple Door a lot more at one time but, when I was there for the Houses of the Unholy show last Saturday, I was totally disappointed. It seems like they have had enough venues there that they could have made the flow of people in and out much easier. We waited in a long line just to get our voucher for seating. Then we entered the bar area to wait for the show to start. It was nearly impossible to get at drink. As I understand the bartenders were busy, they could acknowledge someone that is standing and facing the bar waiting for a drink. One of the bartenders went back to people sitting at the bar 2 times before I was served. We ordered food during the show that was surprisingly pretty bland. Then there was the show to top it off....not so good. I was expecting much more burlesque dancing! The band and singers and our seats, I must say, were great. Just hope Triple Door works on these things. read more

Consistently the worse service I've experienced. I've given this establishment 4 attempts to make me a believer. This final visit it took 45 minutes to get an appetizer as an entree, 2 requests to get a soda, and a side that never arrived. I was never offered a refill and the server didn't check back after dropping off the appetizer, so I couldn't ask if the side was coming or for a refill. Midway through the headlining performance the check was presented by the MIA server. I didn't mention any of the shortcomings . Why bother? She was done with us. The appetizer was okay. Lessons finally learned-- eat before your favorite performer plays the triple door. read more

I have been to the Triple Door 5 or 6 times. The most recent for the new years early show. Every seat we have had has been wonderful as I am not sure there is a bad seat in the venue. I perfer to eat somewhere else as the food choices aren't always to my tastes. There is always an affordable choice for a bottle of wine which is a plus. Great acoustics and it is great place to experience music. read more

I've been to two concerts there, and I think it's the best music venue in town. The first time, I attended alone and was seated at the stage. It was an acoustic concert, and the view was unbeatable. It was dark, however, and it was a little difficult to see what I was eating. The second time, I was seated with a group at a table up front--another great view, and with the candle on the table, I could actually see what I was eating. We went to the Triple Door last night for a night out with friends. The show and service were great. But please use caution when selecting seats. We were towards the back and could not see the show at all. We could see about 1/4 of the stage due to seating of people on the same level in front of us. If they are going to sell these seats at full price its ridiculous. So use caution in selecting your seats. This made for a total waste of over 200.00 read more

Saw Suzanne Westenhoefer there Saturday night. She said something about just getting off a flight from Lauderdale, but the act did not suffer! She was hillarious! Her opening act was perfect for me. It was folksinger Alicia Healy. I will be back to see her as the main act, and this venue would be a good choice. What a bargain at $40/ticket. The acoustics are perfect, and I don't think there is an obstructed seat in the house. Except the very last, twos seat in the long line of singles, in front of the sound booth. It is necessary to go under a crossbar to get out for the rest room. The staff was very efficient, although we tried to come prepared. I looked up a menu online, but it was old or a different location or something. Because of that, I switched from the Sea Bass. Instead I got the Thai noodles, with a Sickle Blossom Cocktail. The former had calmari rings, shrimp, baby octopus tentacles and mussles, with fat noodles, fresh bean sprouts and just enough heat. It was enough for 2 large meals for me. The latter was great cocktail for the driver; not too sweet; not too strong. My husband got the ginger-infused vodka martini was the perfect drink to relax, after a busy week. His meal was 2 boring apps: potstickers and panko shrimp. For the main, the black pepper scallops. He said it was all good. We will be back! My only suggestion is about lighting. It is REAL dark, before the lights went down for the performers. I never saw a single thing I ate. read more

This is my first time at the Triple Door. What a venue. I was here for a DESC Fund raiser. The Country lips and Dusty 45's played a great show. DESC really knows how to plan and put on a fantastic show. I will be back to enjoy all their fund raisers and help out as much as I can. Triple Door provided a great dinner and top food service. The building and staff were lovely, the show, the Nightmare before Christmas was less than stellar, in fact, it was quite poor. The sound was distorted, the acting was poor and the scene sequences were totally unintelligible. I would not recommend this show to anyone. read more

Beautiful venue and wonderful, refurbished concert hall! The menu is delicious and really well laid out selection for any kind of culinary taste. My one issue was with the service time...each drink took almost 30min to arrive and the meals were a tad cold when they arrived...and, at the time we ordered, the venue was not super busy. Really, that is the only thing that would have made the evening perfect (the Tina Dico show was fantastic on Sunday!) would have been timely service. I've never posted a restaurant review before. I signed up on Yelp specifically to say this: Do not eat here. The shows are wonderful but the food is basically dog food. Went for the Halloween show and 4 of us ordered different items - 2 prix fixe and 2 ala carte. Cocktails were ok, a bit sweet, but ok. The food however, WOW! Horrible doesn't even begin to describe it. Bland, tasteless, boring, pretty much disgusting. Was hoping the server would ask why we all pushed our plates away after taking only a few bites but then realized how busy they are bring out the mass-produced dinner theater-style way of eating. Also noticed other patrons making gross faces after tasting their meals. How can they not know? Or do they but it's a cash cow. Almost $175 for 4 BEFORE COCKTAILS. Give me a break - you are serving a horrid food experience. I hope the review here save some of you from making the same mistake. Go for the show, get a drink but do not eat this garbage. read more

Holy moly, I was sooo impressed with my first trip to the Triple Door, that I talked my co-workers to death about the place. Where do I begin? First I must be clear about the service here, because it is like nothing I have experienced before, outside of maybe a high-end sushi restaurant. We were headed there for a surprise birthday party. The birthday girl did not know that we would be seeing Johnette Napolitano that night, and I made mention of this to the staff. They, in turn, made sure that every server & host we encountered said NOTHING about the night's events, even when waiting on the tables around us. We had several groups of people in our big group, and they happily organized us so we were all together, keeping our party names together in their registry. One of our party was in a wheelchair, so they happily wheeled her through the kitchen and down the service elevator to the main floor of the show room. Once she was seated, they whisked her chair away & stashed it out of sight, and promptly returned it as we were paying the check, and then brought her back upstairs and into the front lobby/bar. Our waiter was invisible. There's really no better word. Food & drinks came & went, with us none the wiser, our glasses were never empty, but we were never disturbed. When we did interact with him, he was charming, witty and sincere, and the people in our party who ordered a couple draft beers were treated with the same courtesy as the folks who had $300 checks. The sommelier is incredible and intuitive, and when we decided that Ms. Napolitano needed a bottle of the wonderful red we were drinking, he deftly helped us out, setting up a bottle & a glass on stage for her. Second, the venue itself. Beautiful. There is not one bad seat in the whole house, as the room is set up like an old showroom, with the rows of 4-6 seat booths (which are very comfy/roomy) laid out in cascading tiers. No one is ever in your way. The sound is phenomenal, obviously set up for the environment. And, now you can see some shows from here on the Seattle channel, so that's cool. Third, the food & drink. It all comes from the Wild Ginger upstairs, and it's great. If you eat here, this is where most of your money will be going. There is a wide variety for the carnivore/vegetarian/vegan/piscetarian in your party. Personally, I feel like I've gotten what I've paid for. Delicious, exotic, filling foodstuffs, but I have heard of a couple of problems with the menu not being accurate, or people just not being satisfied with the portions compared to the price. Drinks come from the luscious bar at the front of the house. Incidentally, the front bar area (which is just laid back enough for drinks after shopping, and just formal enough for drinks after an office meeting) is gorgeous, featuring a wall of tropical fish, a kick ass happy hour, and usually some live music or DJs. The only possible drawback to this place is that they have no parking, but there is a garage next door (literally feet from the entrance). I don't drive, so no biggy for me. Amazing Amazing Amazing. I want to give 6 stars. If you are looking for a place to have a special night out with a partner, or family & friends, this is the place. read more

I'm giving them only 2 stars because my it was my first visit this past month. My friends and I met there for happy hour and we ordered several dishes which not one of them was great in any way. The only thing yummy was their papaya salad and quite frankly the rest was extremely salty (otak tak) and dry/over-done (pork belly). Lastly, their meat skewers are mediocre... We were actually really excited to hear some live music, but unfortunately there wasn't any playing that Thursday night. read more

I'd give it 2 1/2. I've seen great shows with very good food, yet service can be uneven (one experience was worse than Lori H. - once over one hour for food and drink). I've had the wrong order delivered, along with some mystery charges on the bill. The wait staff was pleasant though uninterested, but the manager did his best to provide a remedy. BEWARE of the "new" policy regarding reserving a booth at the Triple Door. For the Vicki Martinez concert on Friday, we had to pay $40 per person for a non-refundable food and wine credit in order to reserve a booth. That did NOT include the price of the ticket for the actual event. Since the booths are tiny, don't bother reserving, just sit at the counter-like tables. The food portions are extremely small - what they called a cheese" platter" had 3 pieces of cheese, some sliced apple a few crackers and puny breadsticks ran $13. The sound system is good and it's nice to be so close to the artists, but I won't be hurrying back. read more

I'm becoming more of a fan of the 3x Door. They've always had a beautiful venue, but got started a bit rough as far as process went. I'm happy to say that my last few times visiting the Triple Door have gotten much better! The staff is friendly, seems much more efficient. Food is still super yummy (Wild Ginger!). If you're like me and (almost) gave up on the Triple Door years back, I say go back again! Great food, great staff, great entertainment and a beautiful venue. read more

Some friends and I went to the Triple Door to eat dinner and take in a show. I was impressed with how well the theater was arranged; we had a table at the very back of the theater and yet none of us had any trouble viewing the stage, despite the fact that some of us are just barely over 5 feet. I was amused by the names of the cocktail drinks, and greatly enjoyed the one I tried, called "the Rickshaw." Our group started the meal by sharing some satay plates. While we were unimpressed with the boar (we agreed it tasted like any generic, grilled meat), we loved the marinated beef and accompanying peanut sauce. I was very excited to order the Wild Ginger Fragrant Duck since I love the rich flavour of duck meat and the dish read like a spiced variant on Peking Duck. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the dish was completely overwhelmed by the saltiness of the meat. I could not detect even hints of the anise and cinnamon promised in the dish description. Texture-wise, the duck was cooked well, but I found I had to heap cilantro onto each bun in order to simply tone down the saltiness. My sister ordered the other dish I had been seriously considering, the Seafood Thai Noodles. I did not taste her food while we were at the Triple Door, but I did have some of the leftovers the next day. I was surprised and disappointed to note that her dish was also dominated by a salty flavour. I expect soy sauce and salt-saturated meals from fast food asian restaurants, but not from a restaurant as well-reviewed as Wild Ginger. Our group was not particularly impressed by the show we saw, but we did appreciate the ambiance of the theater. We'll probably be back to see shows in the future, but will stick to drinks and appetizers/dessert. read more

LOVE the Triple Door as a venue! It's beautiful & I love the layout. The food...well, that's just plain AWFUL and expensive. Obviously buffet food that they have sitting in heat lamps for hours before service. The drinks ALMOST have alcohol in them...almost. Overall VERY pricey considering what you get. They need to either get their OWN kitchen or re-work the menu to be easier to serve items that don't need to sit under a heat lamp. Nobody minds paying a lot for GOOD food & drinks. read more

For dinner and Nanci Griffith July 20. Nice table, but our waiter, James, MIA a good portion of the evening. Very slow food service. Ordered noodles not spicy, but came with considerable chilies. He said to just remove them. Unadvertised warm-up act started 7:30, then a break; Nanci didn't come on until 8:20. She played for one hour, seemed depressed and angry about political situation, left stage without thanking audience or returning for bow or any encore, despite 10 minutes of cheering. Mediocre food and poor service by Triple Door; unprofessional conduct by Nanci Griffith. We won't be returning anytime soon. read more

I enjoy the music concerts moreso than the burlesque shows. The shows are often for yuppie types, but it's a fun place. The food is tasty, and the drinks are good, while the waiters are good, they may be a bit 'hoity-toity', but that's okay! :) It's good stuff, and upstairs @ Wild Ginger prepare yourself for something very delish!! Downstairs just serves smaller plates of the same stuff as upstairs. Really yummy Pad Thai, Wild Boar, and Crispy Duck! Yummm. read more

Disclaimer: I came for the lounge, drinks, and dinner. I.e., not the main show on stage. With that said, the service was terrible. I never had an opportunity to order dinner. Granted, I was seated at the bar after the main act had let out so, the staff was swamped. I don't think that's a good excuse for bad service... either hire more staff or don't serve food in the lounge. I'm sure the musiquarium is great for after party drinks, but not if you came to the Triple Door just for the lounge. Cool venue, bad service. read more

Food was fine. Nothing to complain about but it was really pricey for being just okay. Good drinks but again overpriced. Just not worth it. We were excited because we heard it was the same food as wild ginger upstairs but that this meal comes with music. You are much better off going to pink door for way better food and drinks that are actually worth the price and better music for that matter! read more

I have never felt so disrespected at a restaurant. Before I gave up on service and walked out, one of the Son musicians came to my table to ask if I had been served. I thank him for noticing that after 40 minutes of sitting, making eye contact with 2 dark haired waiters and a failed attempt to get served at the bar, I had only a glass of water. One dark haired waitress appeared after 15 minutes, brought a menu 10 minutes later then noticed me at the bar at which time she took my food and drink order. At some point it became apparent that the food would arrive before the drink. I left. read more

Triple Door is classy. Let's make sure that's firmly established before I critique their thai noodles. It feels classy, it looks classy, the service is classy, and the people in attendance are classy. The right lighting for late night tomfoolery, the coolest bar with top-shelf everything, comfy booths, sharply dressed crew of employees, and an ambiance that reminds visitors they're definitely off-the-clock for the day. Now, to those thai noodles, they were a little overcooked (i.e. mushy) and the sauce was the plainest of plain, and a little salty. Not enough of that "umami" quality which makes good thai noodles irresistible. They were full of seafood, which was also somewhat muted in flavor, drowned by the excessive saltiness of a dressing consisting of mostly oyster sauce. The show and the drinks were top notch. Get a booth near the stage, you won't regret it. But be sure to show up early for a few drinks in the bar, where you can be wined and dined. read more

Venue is phenomenal, artists are great, Wild ginger food is ok.....but the bartending leaves much to be desired. Two out of 3 drinks ordered were missing a key ingredient. There's lots of apps out there to find correct ingredients for drinks, they should try and use one of them! Only reason they don't get 5 stars is the bartending. read more
