    Yummy yummy Pisco Sour

Our party of 5 enjoyed wonderful food and yummy Pisco Sours - I've since found out is the national cocktail of Peru - gotta love a country a with a national cocktail. Staff was enthusiastic, attentive, and efficient, and the vibe is casual, simple, and clubby. We shared a bunch of small plates: lomo saltado is one of my favorite Peruvian dishes, and it was great here (we got 2): quality beef, cooked and seasoned perfectly, with red pepper, onion, scallions, potatoes and compare tomatoes. We also had grilled octopus, ceviche, camaron al ajillo (hot pepper, diced garlic, marinated shrimp in olive oil), and potatoes with huancaina sauce (spicy cheese sauce) - SOOO good - my new favorite cheese fries!! I highly recommend, and can't wait to go back!

Decided to randomly stop in and try this new Peruvian place with a friend and it did NOT disappoint! As soon as we walked in the staff was very friendly and attentive, answered any questions and we got our drinks and food fast. They played great Spanish music, with sports on the tvs and it seems like a great space to either have a drink with friends, or just dinner. You can dress up or dress down. Everything was delicious!! we went for happy hour and I can't wait to go back. 10/10 would recommend!! they even mentioned you get a discount if you work in downtown Hartford.

Hoping to get back here again so pardon the pics. We were in a hurry trying to get back to tournament playing, but managed these two sad pics. Not many reviews but a friend made the suggestion to eat here and it didn't disappoint. Arrived was on point, not pictured is the chicha morada, pretty authentic. Waiter knew we were in a hurry and did his best to get us in and out out of there in 30 minutes.

Food was rich, salty, expensive and flavorful. We had the caprese salad which was delicious, corn in abundance, fried rice with pork belly and risotto with scallops. The dessert was cheesecake with blueberry which was the weakest part of the meal, rediwhip and overly sweet. Drinks are pricey, particularly the specialty drinks which are running 17-18 dollars. Service was attentive but a few things were missed (forgot to bring dessert and then brought it in a to go container) but quickly corrected. The space is dramatically decorated in red and black with large murals and intense lighting. Perfect for IG The space is two stories with a lot of echo and noise, constant background music, may be difficult for older people to hear anything.

The food was pretty good. It's a little overpriced but for downtown Hartford, not bad. They had a great happy hour menu for the drinks. They were strong. Food was well seasoned and flavorful. The ambiance was really nice, the restaurant is beautiful on the inside and the bar is cute. The service was great! The owner came to check in and they offered 15% off for college students and people who work downtown :)

The cocktails were great. We tried several tapas (the filet antichuchero, maize and rice). All were awesome!!

Great food and drinks. Order the pisco sour or pisco sour passionfruit. Service was ok and food was delicious. Will go again to try other dishes.

They have an huge assortment of smoothies, salads and you can build your own paninni and wraps and bowls. Sue helped me decide on what type of wrap I wanted, she stated that the the tomato basil is a popular one. I chose chicken for my protein and sweet water mixed greens, red onions, pico da galore and garlic aioli. This wrap was delicious. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy and they don't skimp on your choice of protein. I devoured that wrap and I look forward to returning and enjoying many more items from their menu. They have three locations. Please make your way to any of their three locations. You will not be disappointed. To all my Yelpers let's continue to eat our way through the world #foodie4life.

(Straight Lines) Sweetwater Salad Bar made a bad experience "good" today when they pivoted and made a great customer service decision. They have a deep menu with all sorts of customizable Smoothies, three kinds of toasts, and Wraps. We went for lunch today and decided on a "to go" order of their Avocado Toast. We paid our $5.84 and waited for the order to be assembled. After a few minutes, a manager approached us to say they couldn't make the avocado toast because they had run out of bread. Now... since you can't really make an Avocado Toast, Peanut Butter Banana Toast, or Hummus Toast without toast, and you can't really make toast without bread, we understood why they couldn't give us the order we had already paid for. But they made things right by offering us something else, so we opted for a chicken quesadilla which we received for no additional charge. The quesadilla was good with a nice mix of chicken and cheese. IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Obviously, inventory management comes to mind, and if they run out of bread, that information should be conveyed to the entire staff so everyone is on the same page about what is and is not available, what can and cannot be made, and what should and should not be paid for.

The place looked spacious and with a lot of light, it looked clean and they seemed to have a nice selection of wines (for those that like it) , they were displayed for people to see, which I thought looked very nice. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and I found it odd that there was only 1 restroom for the size of the restaurant. Our waiter was nice, he took our order and we were excited. The food took a VERY long time, we were starving, and we had kids with us so that wasn't good. Some of our orders were wrong and so unfortunately we had to wait even longer for the right meal. We didn't order alcohol but we did older a couple of mocktails. I was SUPER excited for them because that's something I always appreciate at a restaurant. I'm sad to say that they were AWFUL!! straight up syrup, not bubbly (some were supposed to have soda in them) not sweet, simply not enjoyable at all, I ended up switching it for a simple club soda, I figured it was a safe bet. When my food came out, it was ok, I had the avocado toast, and it was forgettable, my sister had the chicken and waffles and now THAT was the meal to get, it was large in portion and that chicken was beyond tasty!! My other sister has the lomito sandwich with the chips and it was good, something missing but she enjoyed it. The rest of the food were burgers and they were ok, the kids had burgers and Mac and cheese and they were not tasty according to the children's disinterest in barely touching their food (and they love cheeseburgers). I'm always willing to bypass certain things as long as customer service delivers BUT unfortunately they fell short. We were celebrating an engagement and so we were all very happy and in a great mood, when suddenly workers around us were cleaning up the neighboring tables, and even sweeping very close to us. We thought the place was possibly closing? (Even though it was only 2:15pm). I asked if they were closing and they said that they close the restaurant from 3-4 so their employees can go eat .... I'm not against giving them a break BUT, it really felt like they were kicking us out, we felt pressured to eat fast and wrap it up, not a good feeling, when you are in the zone of happiness. It was our first time there so, I would have appreciated if they would have informed us that the restaurant takes a little break in between and then we would have decided if we wanted to stay or go elsewhere. They did bring a little dessert and 2 mocktails for the newly engaged which was nice, I'll give them that. Overall, I don't think the food and experience was worth me coming back or recommending this place, I'm sure there's other much better places.

I got the pasta à la vodka with chicken, and my girlfriend got the pesto gnocchi chicken dish. Everything came fast, warm, and fresh- cooked to perfection. We also got the cheese garlic bread as a starter, which was delicious and the perfect size as to not spoil your dinner. Finally, we split an order of the chocolate lava cake which was one of the tastiest desserts I'd ever had. Now, onto the even more impressive details. First things first, calling in, and then changing the time for our reservation was very easy, and the man who picked up the phone seemed very excited to have us coming in to the restaurant. Upon arrival, it was clear the host (Jimmy) was the same person on the phone, as he remembered my name and was immediately incredibly hospitable and friendly. Jimmy asked me and my girlfriend how long we'd been together, and we told him "2 years today!" This at first seemed like typical small talk on the way to the table (which I should mention was arguably the best seat in the house, a table right by the front window in a nice quiet area of the restaurant), but I was quite impressed when the first thing our server, Vincent, said to us a few minutes later was "Happy anniversary." Vincent was very helpful and made sure to circle by our table frequently enough to make sure we had everything we needed, but not to the point where it was unnecessary- perfect!! As you can see in the attached image, our lava cake came with a nice happy anniversary message, and I'd like to remind you that this was all just from us mentioning it to Jimmy, once on our way in. We were treated to some goodies to take home separate from what we ordered, as well as a nice half off discount on the parking lot up the street. And it was to my great surprise and graciousness that when I peeked at the bill, our dessert was missing- based on the service we received, I would be surprised if this was a mistake. In summary, our trip to Salute was nothing short of a 5 star review. Excellent food, clean bathrooms, calm and friendly atmosphere, and I do not understate this when I say that the service was IMPECCABLE. Thank you very much to Jimmy, Vincent, and Salute as a whole for a wonderful evening- we will be back.

We went on to peruse the menu, which is a bit abbreviated; I assumed it's because they are focused on their "specialty." We took in the views, which, hailing from New York City, were not as vast or fascinating as those we were used to. Granted, we knew where we were and really had no expectations. We just wanted to enjoy dinner. The meal's presentation was beautiful. The Parker House Rolls were delicious. The Hamachi Crudo appetizer was perfection. I did not enjoy the Skate Wing and did not eat it; it had a tough rubbery texture; probably overcooked. I mentioned to my waiter that I didn't enjoy it, and he offered no alternative, so I ate more rolls. My husband enjoyed the Dry Aged Rohan Duck. We topped it off with a chocolaty dessert and French press coffee. The friendliest of the staff was a young man who collected our plates after our entrees.
