The sink is by the door. Was this a brothel at one time?

I am so thrilled we were able to get a room here! I wanted "unique" and we found it, here, in the center of town. The environment is totally authentic Westward Movement with a hint of 1900s European Emigree chic. The bed was comfy. The tub/shower was fantastic- great water pressure! The security was sound. Everything was very clean. The price was not crazy. This was just perfect. Take the opportunity to get a bottle of wine from Uncorked Truckee (a block away), and sit on the 2nd floor balcony. A perfect way to end an evening!

Wow! Absolutely perfect! This hotel is perfect for a quick getaway. We stayed in room 319, I was a little nervous about "shared" bathroom but we had our own with the room number on the door and it locked. Simply put it's just not in your room no big. I was there on a Friday and Saturday and did NOT hear the noise everyone was talking about or expecting? This location is walking distance to all the restaurants and action. We walked to their famous Cottonwood Restaurant and back. In my opinion you don't need a car when you stay, there are free busses that take you to Donner Lake and all over. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, the free coffee and snack area were awesome. There is no TV in the room but there is one in the "TV" room as well as a cool balcony to drink your coffee The front desk has an easy text communication and there is a code to get in the hotel. I WILL be coming back. Thank you Friendly,Rustic, and History infused Truckee Hotel my stay was awesome!

We had the most amazing time at the truckee hotel!!! First off, I really appreciate check in, they give you a door code and your key is waiting on the counter! Everything is decorated western style and it seems like a lot of the wall print and stairs are authentic! Our room was cozy perfect for two, lovely bathroom and shower! There is a common area with some games and dvds to watch a movie also there is a place to get coffee and sit out on a porch area with chairs overlooking downtown truckee!!

This place is trashy. For $180 a night I could find a better tent to sleep in. Not as pictured on their site. Shared bathroom?! With strangers stuff everywhere. The room smelled, the food was over priced. $33 for pasta with no protein. We don't have a bathroom, TV, fridge, coffee machine, no closet, dresser or desk to put out stuff on. Not sure hot this is listed as a hotel and not a hostel.

    1. Webcam so your friends can watch you doing your best James Dean under the sign at the gas station across the street in real time. 2. 59 clams for a room. 3. Trains trains and more trains all night long to inhabit your sleep and make your dreams of Carnagie and Ayn Rand. 4. A bar on the first floor with conversations of the fair and circuses. Very tasty vittles too. 5. Remodel coming! 6. Real time webcam. 7. Webcam.

My boyfriend, our friend and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Tahoe so we decided to make our way to stay in Truckee. Being unfamiliar to the whole area, staying at the truckee hotel made us feel so welcomed. The man who helped us at the front was super friendly and sweet which made a great first impression. Pros: Continental breakfast, lounge area on the second floor, nice little patio area to chill at, comfortable beds, friendly service Cons: Bathrooms we're located outside of the hotel rooms, not a lot of parking There are live bands that do play at night time, and also trains that occasionally pass by, but that didn't bother us much. The hotel is next to a restaurant and across I believe there is a bar. But aside from that, I would definitely come back and stay here again! Thank you Truckee for a wonderful experience.

The bar next store is great! Bartender is amazing. Drinks were good. I wish I was hungry so I could've tried their food. I'll be back

This place is located on a very busy street so you will be hearing cars all night long. The room has no air conditioning and it gets stuffy . We had to open the front door to get some fresh air. Our room was the Dream Catcher has a lot of windows with no blockout curtains so we had light in the room all night long and it was difficult to have a restful night. The worse part of our stay was that we had reserved the room for five days but we had an emergency that required us to leave two days earlier. We gave them 72 hours notice. The owner didn't even want to return our calls. My husband had to make several visits to the front office the front desk clerk Austin told us the owner is busy and doesn't need to call anyone. By chance my husband ran into her on the last morning when he dropped off the room key. We spoke with her for 10 mins and even asked her to split the difference and give us one night refund instead of the two but she refused. What a nightmare! It is a rip off ! I will NOT recommend this place to family and friends.

The mansion is located walking distance from town. It has been very well restored and has many period pieces and decor. My wife and I have stayed in many places like this but I have to say...this place has something special. That is mostly due to Connie the owner. As soon as you book the reservation you get a huge email laying out what to expect at the mansion including directions and what to expect. The email then goes in and tells about the town and its MANY attractions and history and how to contact those business. Once we arrived, a note in the door said to "call Connie once you arrive and are ready to check in...LOL'! We thought this was great and gave it a very "homey" atmosphere. Connie also owns a bar/saloon in town called The Silver Queen, which has been featured on Ghost Adventures and is worth a trip there in its own merit and that is where she was when we arrived. She basically said...walk in the side door, go straight ahead and turn right and the door to your room is right there with the key in it. Let me know if you need anything else...LOL. We thought that was just the best! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had AC, TV, Keurig coffee maker, private bath, and ours had a patio outside. We took a self guided tour around the house, as no one was there, and fell in love with the place. The big thing that sets it apart from any other place that we have been is the fact that the owner, Connie, is the one who literally cook you a three course gourmet breakfast every morning! Her meals were spectacular and the hospitality and conversation was amazing. She has lived they for 61 years and could answer pretty much and question you had and had a hilarious and interesting story to tell about whatever you wanted to know I was well! We met some great couples at breakfast and we are SURE to be back in the future. This mansion and the city, which exceeded all expectations as well, will definitely in regular rotation on our many adventures every year. You will NOT be disappointed when you stay here!

We booked Room 2 at The Parsonage expecting a traditional bed-and-breakfast stay in a historic…read morehome. The property is listed as a B&B on several platforms, the website features breakfast imagery, and the booking form asks for dietary restrictions, so we reasonably assumed breakfast and access to common areas were part of the experience. Instead, Room 2 functions more like a small private room rental with limited access to the house. We were surprised to learn upon arrival that we did not have access to the main house common areas. For us, shared spaces are a major part of what makes staying in a bed and breakfast enjoyable. The room itself was also extremely small. With a queen bed and a twin bed in the room, there was essentially no space to move around comfortably and no seating area at all. For three guests, there was nowhere to sit except on the beds, and simply walking around the room was difficult due to the tight layout. Breakfast was also not served. Two muffins were left for us despite the reservation being for three guests, and despite the booking form asking for dietary restrictions. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years throughout California--both coastal and wine country--and the experiences we've loved have always included warm hospitality, welcoming hosts, shared spaces to relax in, and memorable breakfasts. The common thread in these stays is that guests are encouraged to enjoy the home itself, interact with hosts, and relax in shared spaces. That sense of hospitality and atmosphere is the reason we choose B&Bs. While the building at The Parsonage is historic, Room 2 itself felt very modern and generic rather than reflecting the character of a historic inn. To be fair, the owners later pointed out that the website includes a detailed description and a floor plan showing the limited access for Room 2. However, we found the wording easy to misinterpret when booking, particularly given the B&B categorization, breakfast imagery on the site, and the dietary restriction field in the booking form. At approximately $280 for the night (including a $50 fee for a third guest), the experience did not match what we personally expect from a bed-and-breakfast stay. This room may work fine for travelers who simply want a small private room and plan to spend most of their time out in town. However, for guests specifically seeking the hospitality, shared spaces, and atmosphere that typically define a bed-and-breakfast experience, Room 2 may not meet those expectations.
