I wanted to write a review for the service I was provided by Pickerington Appliance and Repair. I…read moreoriginally called because a pump went out on my LG Tromm Front Load Washer. I wanted to use a local business to repair my appliance in lieu of using a large company such as Sears. This turned out to be a mistake. On the first trip to my home, the repair seemed to go as planned without any issues. A few weeks later, the washer began making a grinding, creaking sound when it went into a high spin cycle in the area of the repair. Of course, this prompted me to contact the aforementioned company again to revist the issue. I was advised in advance that I would have to pay for a second service call, even though this was looked at previously. I wholeheartedly disagree with this decision. The repair person came back and replaced the same pump he originally replaced. Once again, a few weeks later the problem got even worse. On my third call to the repair service, the repairman agreed to come back to take a look at the washer now that the noise was getting unbearable when it was in a spin cycle. Keep in mind that I recorded the video/sounds on my smart phone to help him diagnose the problem. On the third visit he only stared at the machine and said "I don't know what the problem is." He didn't take it apart, nor did he try to troubleshoot the problem and the issue with my washer is still unresolved. At least I didn't have to pay for another service call. I do not recommend this company for repairs or any other services they provide. I would contact a corporate owned or a national repair company vs. this local company.

I'm sure if I'd said it was urgent they'd have tried to come sooner. They came out a week or so after I called to check things out and give me a quote. That guy, Matt, and the later handyman were friendly and efficient. Then another few weeks till they came out. I got the disposal and they installed it, plus added a plug under the sink and fixed the wall switch. Took an hour or so. This is the only handyman our dogs haven't barked at when they got here, and never did. He said he has dogs, but sometimes ours go nuts no matter what, on just hearing or smelling a stranger. The roof took maybe half an hour. Again, professional and efficient. Prices seem a little high to me, but it's been awhile since I hired anyone so this may be the new normal. And I used to be able to do some of this stuff but can't now, so, I have to pay someone sometimes. Worth it to have it taken care of.

This company was willing to do it if we could find the part. After a few weeks, we were able to locate one. Their service representative, Jerry, was on time, professional, and competent. He was able to fix the oven door and left everything in a good order. We had several discussions with the front office to answer some of our questions and to verify that we had the correct part before we ordered it. We also appreciated that they were able to quote based on an email since the issue was a broken oven window that was easy to show by attaching a picture to an email. Since we didn't want to pay for a visit if we could not find the part and needed an estimate the cost so we could decide whether to replace or repair, we were glad to be able to get a email quote for a smaller charge. They then deducted the charge from the final bill

In my opinion, this is the worst repair company in the area. The technicians were incompetent and unable to properly diagnose the problem. Instead of identifying the root cause, they appeared to be replacing parts by trial and error. The customer service was equally disappointing and horrible. The office manager, John, was extremely rude, aggressive, unprofessional, and irresponsible. At no point did we feel that this company cared about us or our concerns. Our Bosch dishwasher displayed an E15 error code, and Bosch recommended that we contact Capital City Appliance for service. That recommendation led to a very frustrating and expensive ordeal. The experience with Capital City was like a real nightmare. We waited nearly two weeks for our first appointment. Over the course of four service visits, the technicians replaced four different parts and charged us more than $1,100. Despite all of that, they never fixed the dishwasher. After each visit, they assured us the problem had been resolved, only for the same error to return. It seemed like they were guessing instead of properly diagnosing the issue. When we contacted the office for help, we received no support. Rather than taking responsibility or working toward a solution, our concerns were dismissed. In the end, we gave up and bought a new dishwasher, which cost less than what we had already spent on unsuccessful repairs by Capital City Appliance. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. I also hope that manufacturers and home warranty companies reconsider referring customers to Capital City Appliance. Poor service like this reflects negatively not only on the repair company but also on the manufacturers and warranty providers that recommend it. I encourage other customers to share their experiences with manufacturers and home warranty companies so they can make informed decisions about their service partners. In our experience, Capital City Appliance did not provide competent repairs or acceptable customer service, and I believe manufacturers and warranty companies should carefully evaluate whether this company should continue receiving referrals.
