Talk about feeling the LOVE! I first heard about DJ Eternal through my fiancé (now husband). He is a frequent listener of Q102.1 and I became a fan almost instantly. The hubby (James) and I love 90s/2000s r&b/hip hop, I mean...this is the kind of music our generation all grew up on! Aaliyah, Biggie, 2pac, to name a few, we wanted that music! DJ Eternal has great mixes on Soundcloud and I found myself listening to his mixes over and over, I knew I was hooked. We were getting married in 4 months and our wedding was on September 3rd, 2017. We can't be happier that we have DJ Eternal aka Roel as our DJ for our wedding. This guy was a great MC/ DJ. He is so easy to work with and always extremely professional with all of his clients. After exchanging emails with him he sent our a contact to us, along with additional forms for us to fill out. Mainly the list of songs during our entrance - for the wedding party, songs we'd like to hear as well as a do not play list. He is very receptive to the theme of the wedding and answers emails typically same day or by next day. We did a video chat with him and we knew we picked the right person for or wedding to MC the festivities. Eventually met in person and had dinner with Roel. We asked for a special entrance mix, he made a two difference ones. We envisioned a certain mix but he explained why that wouldn't work. Makes sense since he in the professional. You have to trust that he knows his art form, which he does to a T. The day of the wedding we didn't see him during the cocktail hour but we saw him equipment and he got the vibe off right. Everyone was having a good time and his choice of music was superb. My wife and I eventually found him in the reception area, all set up and ready to go. The song list we set up was a general direction that he had, he had full control over what was played and went off the vibe of the guests. I can't say there wasn't a song I did not like. Roel controlled the order of events well. He made sure we were always on time. We got a lot of compliments during and especially after that we had an awesome DJ. My wife and I are relatively eclectic and Roel showed this to us by played NSYNC, Baby Shark and E-40 simultaneously. We told him that we planned to be done by 11pm, but depending on the vibe we may extend to midnight. Dude was cool with everything. Eventually we called it at 11:30pm. Roel did not disappoint. He made our day fantastic. Really nice guy who you can tell enjoys being a DJ and takes pride in his craft. We absolutely LOVED having DJ Eternal as our DJ and MC for our wedding! We're so grateful we found him via Yelp after reading so many good reviews! We also watched some of his mixes he had on Youtube and knew we had to reach out. It was so nice to meet up and grab lunch with him! We had a great time talking with him. He was so easy to work with and is a really friendly, humble, and chill guy! One of the many things we loved about his services was that we were able to make as many special song requests, which was important to us. Closer to the wedding date, he asks you to fill out a music form and sends examples of previous couples music forms, which we thought was super helpful! We were able to list all the songs and types of music we wanted for the wedding. There were also songs that he played that weren't on the list but everything he played was exactly the vibe we wanted. We remember specifically when he played  "Summer Nights" by Lil Rob during dinnertime, watching our guests from our sweetheart table, singing along, and seeing some of our friends singing as well. This is probably not the wisest way to wedding plan, but I had a few vendors I was not negotiating on for our wedding, and having a good DJ was one of my top priorities. I booked DJ Eternal 2 years before our wedding. Actually, I inquired with him before we even had a date or venue. There was no other DJ that I was even willing to consider, and luckily my husband fully deferred to me for our DJ selection. :) My husband initially thought all wedding DJs were the same - sometimes they know your name, sometimes they don't, but usually their music selection/ability to read the crowd is poor. It took ONE meeting w/DJ Eternal for my husband to change his mind. The more weddings we attended, the more we were both convinced DJ Eternal was the perfect guy for us. My goal for the wedding was to have a DJ that played good music. My husband wanted a legit MC. My dad wanted someone who would keep our family/friends engaged. My mom wanted to make sure everyone's names were correctly pronounced. We all just wanted to PARTY and not worry. All our goals were met; Roel truly delivered in every aspect of his professionalism, MCing, and DJing. Roel really went above and beyond in our wedding prep. He mixed a father/daughter song for us, found the exact classical songs we wanted for our ceremony, helped us find songs for our first dance (and gave us awesome feedback that was so true for the song we ended up picking), etc. He even played CLEAN music only (bc I have a bunch of little cousins). Upon our first meeting, Roel treated us to dinner, as he did with all his clients in order to get to know them a little more. During our wedding, Roel brought his A game and our guests absolutely loved him. A lot of our guests were out of town, coming from SoCal and the East Coast. DJ Eternal right out the gate was helpful and flexible with our needs for the wedding. Even though he was on vacation with his family, he was available for a FaceTime to answer questions (I.e. equipment, contract, etc.). We did not hire DJ Eternal for any MC services because my wife and I never enjoyed MC performances at weddings, but DJ Eternal with his amazing DJ voice made general announcements to help the night run smoothly. It's always a pleasure doing business with DJ Eternal. I hired Roel to DJ at my wedding last year and he was awesome. Before our wedding, I informed him of the songs that I wanted him to play at my wedding and he didn't even miss a song on my list. For the first dance, I had several songs that he had to transition and I'll have to say he did a good job. He also helped MC during the wedding and he great. Dancing was scheduled around 9:30pm, but he was playing great music so people actually started dancing a few hours earlier. Although I had so many things going on during my wedding, I noticed people from another wedding passed by to watch us all having a good time dancing. I even saw them ask for his info. If you don't have an awesome DJ, people will not stay at an event for long. I was very fortunate to have Roel DJ my wedding. If it wasn't for him, I'm sure my friends and family would have left early. I'm sure if we didn't have to leave the restaurant that night, we would have been dancing until the next morning. My musical love affair with DJ Eternal all started during my long evening commute back when he was still on Q102. I'd be stuck in the car with six cranky kids, heading East toward the Bay Bridge, and all I would need to get me through it was the Mix at 6. When I found out that DJ Eternal would be working my wedding, I was juiced!! I f*cking love this guy! He was my mood uplifter during my commute and now he was going to be The Crowd Uplifter at my wedding! Whattttt?!?!? My fiancé and I have been together for 20 years and when you wait that long, no expense should be spared. Especially when it comes to your DJ! Your DJ/MC sets the tone for the night and I don't think a lot of couples realize how important that is. Your DJ's performance will dictate whether the night ends early or keeps going all night long. DJing is more than just playing music. MCing a wedding is more than just reading names off of a piece of paper. You have to read your audience, know your couple, and engage with the crowd. DJ Eternal does all of that and more. I don't know how he did it, but the way he MC'ed our event made everyone think he was a close personal friend of ours. He said all of the right things and used all of the right references when talking about us and our kids. We didn't get no cookie cutter MC bullshit that I've seen at some other weddings. Not at all. His commentary is hilarious and kept the dinner program entertaining. When he played Boyz in the Hood after my sister's speech, I thought she put him up to it, but it was all him. She made a subtle reference in her speech and he dropped it at just the right moment. He paid attention to every detail and didn't check out once. At one point, it felt like the whole room was singing along during dinner. Our guests even made up a hashtag: #imtryingtoeatmyfoodbuticantstopsinging because even the dinner music was fire. Lol! I couldn't stop myself either. And when it was finally time to dance, it was ON! All of our guests still rave about how amazing the night was and how much fun they had. The dancing went all night long. We had people who never dance, out there on the dance floor and that says a lot. To put it simply, you would be dumb as f*ck to not book this guy for your next event. Hiring DJ Eternal & NSB Productions for our wedding was the best decision we ever made. I will never forget how amazing the night was.
