We were greeted and sat outside per our request. It wasn't too busy at the time and were able to pick our table. It quickly filled up so I recommend reservations. My husband and I just wanted a drink and appetizer. The strawberry coconut margarita was such a hit, I had three. We also had THE BEST charcuterie in all of Chattanooga. I am a snob when it comes to charcuterie and this one takes the cake. I will definitely go back for entrees just based on the service, high quality food, atmosphere, and the owners hospitality.

sweet little note with our bill.

This was by far my most favorite meal since moving here to chattanooga 3 years ago. Atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Service was kind and attentive. Food was amazing!!! We will definitely be back!!!!!

Pretty bad for the price point. Nice white tablecloth place, but first thing you notice is the staticky loud music. No ambiance at all. Ordered drinks, martini for me with the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, my favorite new gin for a straight up martini. For $14, I expect it to still sparkle, but this was less than an ounce and completely watered down. No ice floating on top. Husband's "Mr Banks" old fashioned was served in a dirty glass, smelling of fish. Gross. His clever wife poured out a glass of water and replaced his stinky glass. Didn't see our waiter for a long time until he delivered our entrees and said, "Your salads are right behind me." Now, we are super nice people and always understand when a waiter is in the weeds. Mike used to be a server in college. But by now I was pissed because of the $17 fish drinks and the 30 minute wait for a salad. It's not the waiter's fault, but WTF DUDE? I made him smell the fish glass and take the drink and salads off. He agreed, but he should have asked a manager to come out. He did not, unfortunately. Now we just won't be back and we'll write reviews. The food was a mixed bag. Great char on the salmon and green beans, but the dill sauce was so greasy and salty, I washed it off with my lemon juice. Mike had Wagyu baseball and baked potato. The fact that baked potato is not a regular side should have been a warning. The sous chef is not familiar with potatoes. Or temperature? It was cold. The butter and cheese wouldn't melt. When I was finished, I placed my fork and knife crossed on the plate, international sign for "take my plate away." Here it sits as we wait (and wait and wait) for the check. Don't bother with this odd place.

    Greek Omelet

We were looking for a brunch location while camping nearby and this was great. Walked right in on a Sunday late morning. My Greek omelet was delicious and my husband had the fried catfish, equally delish! Staff was attentive and pleasant. The only thing I found slightly odd.... I had to ask for salt and pepper and they brought out a small dish with salt in it that I had to use my fingers (and hopefully only my fingers) and then the large pepper mill that the server had to use to provide pepper. I would have preferred individual salt/pepper shakers. Overall, very nice place!

    Shrimp & Grits
    Rollin C.

It has only been open for a month and I feel like that's important to note. I had the Shrimp & Grits and it did not have much flavor. I feel like adding sausage would be a huge improvement! We were really looking forward to trying the hushpuppies but there are no appetizers/shareables on the brunch menu. My husband really liked his catfish sandwich and our son liked his brunch burger. * Their hours are central time which is important for anyone in the Chatt area *You can bring a bottle of Prosecco on Sundays and for $10 they will provide juices We will definitely try it again!

Excellent service. Food was exceptional. The owner came to the table to introduce himself and say thank you for coming out. We ordered the catfish and crawfish cakes and hush puppies.

Atmosphere is relaxing. We sat by a window. The view was beautiful. We were seated right away. Could be we got there at a good time. Place was packed when we left. But they had no one waiting. The food. Yum! My friend had the sore isl of the evening. Red snapper on a bed of grits. Her husband had fish n chips. My husband had , I can't remember the name. But it's like a variety of shell fish in a red sauce. Like soupy. I had pork tenderloin. And mashed potatoes. VERY good. For desert. We ordered coconut cake. I didn't care for it. But everyone else did. It had the texture of " tres leches" I don't care for wet cake. Overall. We will be going there again.

    Shrimp appetizer

Every one of the sides looks so good and fresh that I wanted to get each one of them just to try it! The fish was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender. The added little muffin I didn't expect was a nice touch and delicious. The collard greens were SO GOOD. I'd get them again. So flavorful and cooked well. The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. The ambience is super nice and fresh, and our server was so sweet and engaging. The hostess as well. Everybody there was so nice and welcoming. The reviews looked well, so we went hungry and excited. The restaurant is gorgeous, loved the view of the restaurant as I ate on the wall of booths. We had a reservation that was taken promptly, our service was convenient but I wouldn't say pleasant. We ordered the veggie pizza (great flavor, slimy texture from too many mushrooms etc 4/5) the ceasar salad (started with some finesse 4/5) and the jerk cauliflower(5/5). The only item we were disappointed in was the wings (1/5). Now let me explain. Wooden city reads as a smart modern, quality of food type of location. The wings were great values finest: and thus were huuuuge and unappetizing. Yall pull up, just don't get the wings lol

We were seated promptly, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and our drinks and appetizer came out quickly, so the evening started off on a positive note. Unfortunately, when it was time to order our entrees, we were told that several menu items were unavailable. I ended up having to choose something I normally wouldn't have ordered because so many of the options I wanted weren't available. My son enjoyed his meal, but my chicken gnocchi was very disappointing. It had almost no flavor, and the texture was so soft that it was more like mush than a pasta dish. To make matters worse, the air conditioning wasn't working, and while I understand equipment can fail, the dining room was quite warm despite several fans running. Our server was kind and did his best, but overall the experience didn't match what I would expect from a high-end restaurant. Spending nearly $200 on a birthday dinner that ended up feeling average at best was disappointing. I hope the restaurant can address the menu availability, food quality, and facility issues because I really wanted this to be a memorable celebration for my son for all the right reasons. I really want to come back and have a better experience.

They were okay, but for 5 bucks...what do you expect?‍. I would say the accompanying butter was supposed to be honey butter, but it seemed like regular butter to me! The server was polite, but I was scratching my head because she started with---"Let me go see what's not available anymore." Shouldn't she have done that before speaking to us?? The atmosphere is relaxed, but there isn't much to the decor. It was just casual.... there was brown butcher paper on top of white table cloths...kind of tacky really. It was busy, however, which added to the noise. Hubby and I both ordered the 1885 burger. Now, we are talkin'! The burger was delicious! . It was juicy and tasty. Just an all around fantastic burger. This alone is what will bring me and hubby back. The loaded baked potato was standard, but good too. It sounds like this experience wasn't great, but like I said, the burger alone is enough to go back to enjoy.

It was also a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. I love that they work with local organizations for fresh vegetables and meat! Our waiter was very nice and fairly attentive. But the food... For the good - the crab cake was delicious. It was like all crab meat with no filler and was very tasty. The pimento cheese was also SO yummy. You could tell it was made fresh and had a great flavor. The pita it came with was fine, a little over-grilled. I was not crazy about the fried okra. I wish the pieces weren't just cut in half, because to me they had that slimy okra texture inside. My gf said they weren't THAT bad, but I really had to push myself to eat them. The rosemary fries have a great flavor and were crispy (I prefer thicker fries but my gf enjoyed these). I LOVE mac and cheese and was super excited to try theirs. It was very creamy and had a good flavor but there was way too much cheese for the amount of noodles. Like the ratio was pretty off. Now for THE issue. My gf ordered the Filet Mignon, medium. It came raw and without the blue cheese compound butter. By the time the waiter came to check on us, I was half done eating. He took the steak to be put back on the grill and brought it back with a bowl of crumbled blue cheese. It was still raw inside. He brought us extra fries, but by the time it came back I was done eating. She asked for it to go and it was STILL RAW. She had cut it, so it was super obvious if you looked. The manager came and talked to us and they took it off the bill, but for a $40 filet mignon it should not take 3 tries to cook it right and it still not really be right. She said there are cold spots on the grill and they're training a new line cook, but it was not a good look... I'd maybe give more of a pass if they were packed, but there was no one eating inside and maybe two other tables of folks outside.
