We're new to the area and have been on a very serious (and slightly hungry) mission to find our go-to breakfast spot. After driving by this place multiple times and seeing the parking lot packed every single time, we finally stopped in... and now we understand why. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The Greek omelet with potatoes was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The Southern Benedict with hash browns and the Alaskan Benedict with grits were both excellent--classic comfort food done right. The Breakfast Bundle with chocolate chip pancakes was a big hit... although those pancakes disappeared so fast I'm not convinced we didn't imagine them. The food came out hot and fast (always impressive when a place is clearly busy), and the coffee and soda refills for the kids kept coming without us even having to ask. Service was friendly and welcoming the entire time. The restaurant was clean, there's outdoor seating available, and the whole place just has that "great local breakfast spot" feel. Safe to say our breakfast search is officially over. And if the packed parking lot didn't convince us before... the food definitely did. We'll absolutely be back. read more

Went for breakfast and it has been 7 years since our last visit. The two egg breakfast was good with wife's eggs cooked well. Bacon was really crispy. I had a made to order omelette. Cheddar, bacon and spinach. Fresh spinach which is a big plus. Home fries were a miss for me. They put the biscuit on the grill which I like. Gonna try to make it for dinner one night. Great food and service! Casual cafe open in the morning until 130pm every day, and Friday night to 7 or 9 PM I think. Very friendly service. We came in a little bit after 1 PM and they served us and we were still eating and the last customers after closing time. But they made absolutely made no attempts to rush us out the door and continue to check on us with smiles, refilling our tea etc The server was very honest when describing the oysters. She said they only have a light dusting, but cautioned us. She said they are quite small right now and so it'd be better to wait until the fall to order when they are in more season. She made other recommendations which we gladly accepted I had the clam chowder, which was New England style. The creamy concoction had a delightful hint of clam taste throughout, whereas other restaurants just seem to have a bowl of cream with very little flavor. We'll definitely order again Most meals come with fries or you can upgrade to sweet potato fries, or onion rings for $3 or four dollars. Although the onion rings were very good, I would not pay that much for an upcharge in the future This shrimp was fresh and very good. My pictured fish sandwich was ludicrously large, extremely fresh, and I believe one of their specialties. I look forward to trying their breakfast and definitely will come again. read more

A very nice place to have breakfast This restaurant has plenty of parking right around it, making it easy to pull in even when traffic is around. We stopped by on a weekday morning and the place was not very busy at all. There was no line or wait for a table, which was nice for a relaxed start to the day. Inside, there are windows on three sides that let in lots of natural light,. This makes the single seating area feel bright, and open. Most tables are set up for four people, and everything looked clean and well-kept. Our waitress Mary was outstanding. She was very friendly from the moment we sat down. She knew the menu inside out, answered questions quickly, and was genuinely helpful. She pointed out that the bread was freshly made in-house, which added a special touch and made the meal feel a bit more homemade. We ordered two breakfast meals--one with eggs, toast and sides and the total came to $28 including drinks. The food arrived fast, probably in under 10 minutes, and tasted good with generous portions, fresh ingredients, and solid flavors that hit the spot without being fancy. Nothing was greasy or overdone, and the coffee stayed hot. The atmosphere stayed calm the whole time we were there, no rush from staff or other customers. It's a straightforward place with good food and no frills. Overall, a very nice place to stop for breakfast--friendly service, good food, easy access, and no crowds. Doing some quick research, I found out why. Six years ago, my device pointed me to the same location, Upside Down Cafe in Satellite Beach. I couldn't recall if it was good, bad, or average, but one thing did stick out: this place had the ignominious distinction of being the first slop house with a server that lied to me, got caught in the lie, and as such, was forced to offer up an apology of sorts. Just as I finished reminiscing about all of that, I pulled into the parking lot (it's not that far up the beach from me). I was shown a table, handed a menu, and left to my own amusement. Shortly thereafter, the same waitress as six years ago walked up and introduced herself as Mary (how could I forget?). This time around, Mary did an OUTSTANDING job to the point of making the preliminary list for the best 3Q server! What makes her so good this time, you ask? Her candor, knowledge, demeanor, timing, and overall professionalism have her standing neck and shoulders above the majority of her peers. Well done, Mary. After placing an order for the Baked Oatmeal and a BLT, I handed the menus back to Mary and focused my attention on my seraphic company. Being this close to the airbase, it was either that or focus on the heavy avignation traffic. That was an easier decision than choosing menu items at my favorite place. It wasn't too long before Mary returned laden with my order. As she placed the Baked Oatmeal down, my first thought upon seeing it was, "Did I order a dessert and not remember?" I mean, just look at that presentation! I've never had oatmeal look like this before, and the taste was just as delightful on the palate as it was pleasing to the eye. The oatmeal was dense, thick, and exceptionally delicious. This was, by far, some of, if not the best, oatmeal to ever pass my lips. The other item on the menu this morning was their BLT. For the life of me, I swear the bacon was microwaved, or at the least warmed up in the microwave, as it was not crispy. Bacon is to be crispy. Period. Other than that, it was average. At least my company was divine, so my attention was not focused on the soft bacon. I had a disappointing meal there today. While the chicken tenders were flavorful, they were actually thinly sliced chicken breast rather than actual chicken tenderloin and the portion was small. I upgraded to the sweet potato fries for $2.99 extra and they were shoesting cut and overcooked. Would have much preferred a decently sized sweet potato fry with some actual heft and flavor. Visited the Upside Down cafe after getting away for the weekend on the beach. We wanted to find someplace unpretentious and not a chain. The Upside down was just that. The terazzo floors were charming, and the staff was friendly as we sat anywhere we wanted, without an X. We found a table and familiarized ourselves with the menu, The beau was hungry so he wanted a few things, and myself, with my tummy being a pain, I wasn't really hungry, but wanted something tasty, we placed our order with Angela. I got the breakfast burrito, with bacon and light on the onions and peppers. Grits with butter. My beaut got the eggs benedict, with a side of bacon, a waffle and some hash. When it came out, all the food was perfect. It was all well cooked an perfectly done. The eggs benedict were exemplary, and the breakfast burrito was delicious but for me, I'd ask the salsa on the side, because with the red sauce on top, it didn't look good. The Upside down Cafe is a must go for the best local breakfast and brunch. The service is friendly, and efficient. The Ambiance is definitely beach, beach, beach and the menu is varied with a wide variety of poached egg style meals and ask for the wonderful daily specials that are not on the menu. Portions are generous. Costs are reasonable. This is my Sunday go to place. Hint bring your own Champagne they will supply the orange juice and enjoy your mimosas with your group. Hint. My husband, daughter and I have been going to this breakfast diner since I was pregnant with my daughter. This place holds a special spot in my heart! I absolutely love the food, the staff and everything about this restaurant! Every time I go it's always so amazing and I always have such a great time. One time when my daughter was only 6 months old we went out for breakfast for my husband and I anniversary and our waitress (Julia) paid for our entire meal and gave us such great service this was absolutely incredible. Unfortunately we don't live beachside anymore so haven't been able to go as often as I would like but I always recommend this cafe to everyone. Best cafe diner around ! After running the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, my mum and I were searching for an open diner for breakfast. I am so glad we found Upside Down. We were immediately welcomed by a friendly waitress and told to sit anywhere. The dining room was about 70% occupied and the two servers were definitely hustling as it looked like everyone may have arrived all at once. Regardless we were recognized and told she would be right with us. After a hard run I was pretty hungry so I ordered the Monte Cristo...and the triple-deck of eggs, ham and cheese did not disappoint. The Texas Toast french toast was delicious with just the right touch of nutmeg. My mother had pancakes and bacon both were cooked perfectly. Added bonus, the coffee was fantastic. True diner coffee - piping hot and fresh...and your cup is never below half until you say enough. Really nice cafe full of old people. We are not from Florida, but you could tell that everyone knows each other, like a small town. The food was good, they have HUGE burgers and you get a lot for what you pay. Everyone in there is super cheery and happy. Definitely an awesome place. read more
