Great food and service! Casual cafe open in the morning until 130pm every day, and Friday night to 7 or 9 PM I think. Very friendly service. We came in a little bit after 1 PM and they served us and we were still eating and the last customers after closing time. But they made absolutely made no attempts to rush us out the door and continue to check on us with smiles, refilling our tea etc The server was very honest when describing the oysters. She said they only have a light dusting, but cautioned us. She said they are quite small right now and so it'd be better to wait until the fall to order when they are in more season. She made other recommendations which we gladly accepted I had the clam chowder, which was New England style. The creamy concoction had a delightful hint of clam taste throughout, whereas other restaurants just seem to have a bowl of cream with very little flavor. We'll definitely order again Most meals come with fries or you can upgrade to sweet potato fries, or onion rings for $3 or four dollars. Although the onion rings were very good, I would not pay that much for an upcharge in the future This shrimp was fresh and very good. My pictured fish sandwich was ludicrously large, extremely fresh, and I believe one of their specialties. I look forward to trying their breakfast and definitely will come again.

A very nice place to have breakfast This restaurant has plenty of parking right around it, making it easy to pull in even when traffic is around. We stopped by on a weekday morning and the place was not very busy at all. There was no line or wait for a table, which was nice for a relaxed start to the day. Inside, there are windows on three sides that let in lots of natural light,. This makes the single seating area feel bright, and open. Most tables are set up for four people, and everything looked clean and well-kept. Our waitress Mary was outstanding. She was very friendly from the moment we sat down. She knew the menu inside out, answered questions quickly, and was genuinely helpful. She pointed out that the bread was freshly made in-house, which added a special touch and made the meal feel a bit more homemade. We ordered two breakfast meals--one with eggs, toast and sides and the total came to $28 including drinks. The food arrived fast, probably in under 10 minutes, and tasted good with generous portions, fresh ingredients, and solid flavors that hit the spot without being fancy. Nothing was greasy or overdone, and the coffee stayed hot. The atmosphere stayed calm the whole time we were there, no rush from staff or other customers. It's a straightforward place with good food and no frills. Overall, a very nice place to stop for breakfast--friendly service, good food, easy access, and no crowds. I would recommend it to fellow travelers or anyone nearby looking for a pleasant, reliable morning meal. Enjoy!

    Chicken pesto wrap

The restaurant feels very beachy with a lot of cute marine life decor. The wait staff is so friendly and they seemed to know most of their customers personally. Food was amazing. I got a pesto chicken wrap but the French toast was incredible.

Upside Down Cafe, 718 S. Patrick Dr. Satellite Beach, FL, 32937 3.75 Stars Looking down at my random name generator, I couldn't help but get the feeling of déjà vu. Doing some quick research, I found out why. Six years ago, my device pointed me to the same location, Upside Down Cafe in Satellite Beach. I couldn't recall if it was good, bad, or average, but one thing did stick out: this place had the ignominious distinction of being the first slop house with a server that lied to me, got caught in the lie, and as such, was forced to offer up an apology of sorts. Just as I finished reminiscing about all of that, I pulled into the parking lot (it's not that far up the beach from me). I was shown a table, handed a menu, and left to my own amusement. Shortly thereafter, the same waitress as six years ago walked up and introduced herself as Mary (how could I forget?). This time around, Mary did an OUTSTANDING job to the point of making the preliminary list for the best 3Q server! What makes her so good this time, you ask? Her candor, knowledge, demeanor, timing, and overall professionalism have her standing neck and shoulders above the majority of her peers. Well done, Mary. After placing an order for the Baked Oatmeal and a BLT, I handed the menus back to Mary and focused my attention on my seraphic company. Being this close to the airbase, it was either that or focus on the heavy avignation traffic. That was an easier decision than choosing menu items at my favorite place. It wasn't too long before Mary returned laden with my order. As she placed the Baked Oatmeal down, my first thought upon seeing it was, "Did I order a dessert and not remember?" I mean, just look at that presentation! I've never had oatmeal look like this before, and the taste was just as delightful on the palate as it was pleasing to the eye. The oatmeal was dense, thick, and exceptionally delicious. This was, by far, some of, if not the best, oatmeal to ever pass my lips. The other item on the menu this morning was their BLT. For the life of me, I swear the bacon was microwaved, or at the least warmed up in the microwave, as it was not crispy. Bacon is to be crispy. Period. Other than that, it was average. At least my company was divine, so my attention was not focused on the soft bacon. The Big Boy says, "If you need a quick above-average breakfast served with unparalleled professionalism, you can't go wrong with Upside Down Cafe."

The Upside Down Cafe is a small business that serves breakfast and lunch. You can dine in, take out or use delivery options. The restaurant is pretty popular with the locals and can get busy. Breakfast has all of the basic wants. We ordered eggs, sausage, eggs, potatoes and the Upside Down Benedict. All the items were served freshly made and hot. The Hollandaise was delicious and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. All of the staff is friendly and the restaurant is very clean.

I had the best experience for a early morning breakfast. Our server Mary was so on top of everything. She was truly amazing. She could almost read our minds with our needs. The food was fantastic, I ate the western omelet.

We visited Charlie & Jake's on Father's Day and first impressions were great. The place was spotless, had that rustic barbecue-joint vibe, and despite the holiday crowd, we were seated quickly and greeted right away by a friendly, professional server. Service was pleasant, but our drinks seemed to be playing hide-and-seek. We had to ask for refills every single time we wanted one. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered the smoked Old Fashioned, which arrived with enough dramatic presentation to make nearby tables stop and stare. Absolutely worth ordering. A small hiccup: when I unwrapped my utensils, the knife appeared to have some sort of residue on it. Since I didn't actually need the knife, I didn't ask for a replacement, but it was worth mentioning. Now let's talk about the star of the show: the smoked chicken. Holy smoke signals, Batman. This was hands-down the best smoked chicken I've ever eaten. Moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked. I would happily order it every week and never get tired of it. My sides were collard greens and a baked sweet potato, both served in adorable metal measuring cups. The sweet potato was good. The greens were fine, but could have used a little more seasoning and personality. My husband ordered one of the meat platters. He enjoyed it, but there wasn't anything that inspired a speech, tears, or vows of lifelong devotion. The toast, however, nearly drowned itself in butter. I wasn't aware bread could absorb that much liquid and still maintain structural integrity. It was literally dripping when he took a bite. Somewhere between toast and sponge. My hush puppies were unfortunately the low point of the meal. They tasted like someone mixed flour and water, formed little balls, and introduced them to a deep fryer. They desperately needed seasoning and I didn't finish them. The fried pickle appetizer was excellent and the portion was generous enough to feed a small pickle-loving village. When the server dropped off the check, we politely declined. We don't leave restaurants without dessert unless there's a natural disaster involved. My husband ordered the banana pudding, which came in a cute square glass container and was very enjoyable. My daughter ordered the peach cobbler. Calling it "peach" felt a little optimistic. There were approximately two peach slices in a mountain of cobbler topping. She loves crust, so she wasn't upset, but if you're expecting fruit, bring a magnifying glass. The filling itself could have used more flavor and some warm spices, and it was absolutely swimming in caramel sauce. A good vanilla bean ice cream would have elevated the whole thing. My son ordered the peanut butter chocolate pie and immediately entered a state of dessert enlightenment. Deep peanut butter flavor, rich chocolate, absolutely fantastic. Final takeaway: Order the smoked Old Fashioned. Order the smoked chicken. Order the peanut butter chocolate pie. Maybe don't order the hush puppies unless they've found a spice rack since Father's Day. Overall, a clean restaurant, friendly service, excellent atmosphere, and a few standout menu items that are worth coming back for.

My wife sent her coconut shrimp appetizer back because it looked raw. The bartender took it to the kitchen and brought it back and said the cook said it was at the right temperature. We were fine until about 5pm when it hit us. Thanks alot! You ruined our night out with friends because we had to cancel. Funny thing is there was a nice couple sitting at the bar next to us up from the south. He ate the steak sandwich and she had only half of her shrimp BLT. I hope they didnt get sick too. Banana River Cafe is proof that the smell of bacon can make you forgive almost anything…read more First, a fun fact: they're operated by a CIA graduate. No, not that CIA. The Culinary Institute of America. Our daughter actually graduated from their Baking & Pastry program in San Antonio, so we were already inclined to give the place a try. But I digress. The moment you walk in, the smell of bacon smacks you right in the face. In the best possible way. So. Dang. Good. We stopped in on a busy Sunday afternoon. The dining room was hopping. A few tables could have been bussed a little quicker, my chair needed a quick swipe-down before I sat, and there were a few chips hanging out on the floor. Normally I'd notice those things more, but then the bacon smell hit again and suddenly none of it seemed quite as important. I ordered two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs, sliced tomatoes (instead of potatoes), and a biscuit. I chose the biscuit over toast or an English muffin with absolutely no intention of eating it. My plan was to take it home for one of the kids. Then I took one bite. Friends, this was THE best biscuit I have ever eaten in my entire life. I don't throw around statements like that lightly. If you visit Banana River Cafe and order absolutely nothing else, order the biscuits. They deserve their own Yelp page. My husband got what I think was called the Power Bowl--a delicious-looking pile of rice, beans, carnitas, and all the ingredients that make a great burrito bowl. Our son absolutely housed his French toast. Our daughter ordered the Rosemary Chicken Salad Wrap with pasta salad. I sampled the chicken salad. It had a whisper of rosemary. A polite suggestion of rosemary. A rosemary cameo appearance. If you're going to call it Rosemary Chicken Salad, I'd personally vote for a little more rosemary. My daughter loved it, though. She also loved the pasta salad but wasn't a fan of the Parmesan sprinkled on top. If Parmesan must be involved, let's keep it to the kind that comes from a block and not the green plastic shaker. Just my two cents. The staff was friendly, service was great, and soda refills appeared before we even had to ask. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant. Every piece has a price tag, so if something catches your eye, you can literally take it home with you. Great food, great service, incredible biscuits, and enough bacon aroma to improve your mood instantly. We'll definitely be back.
