They had one waitress for the whole place, so the slow service was not the waitresses fault and she was busting her butt to be as quick as she could be. The place was clean and the waitress was friendly. The food...eggs Benedict and French toast, eggs over medium, and crispy bacon. Both the poached over medium and the eggs over medium were cooked hard. The poached were exactly like hard boiled eggs and the others had completely solid yolks as well. Not a great experience. Nice and clean. Overall, nice friendly atmosphere. Servers were very attentive and if I had any criticism, it was on the menu item I purchased. I ordered a new menu, which was the Cuban Benedict. Presentation was nice, but I found it lacking in taste, and the English muffin was hard and difficult to cut. I would suggest serving it as an omelette and not as a benefit. If you insisted on the item as a Benedict, I would serve it on a biscuit and look at the way your meat is cooked. It needs to be Cuban style. I normally find this place a good place to eat with the friendly atmosphere and service staff. I would recommend the Monte Cristo. Yum read more

In Merritt Isalnd for a few days and had to eat out (okay nobody twisted my arm but....). Today we had breakfast at Whisk & Grind. Breakfast (or brunch) can be a simple meal, but its amazing how many places over complicate it. Whisk & Grind did a great job. We went at noon on a Sunday, and we didn't have a wait, but the place was busy, but they turn tables pretty fast here. Service was attentive and friendly, and we got our food pretty quickly. First rule of good breakfast places (according to the book of me) is that you have to have good coffee. Peets coffee, check. It was great and they kept my cup fillled. The food....I had the Papa D's scramble which was sausage, mushroom, grilled onion, bell pepper and muenster cheese. I had the hashbrowns and a biscuit to go with it. The scramble was good, a little under seasoned but is so much more appreciated than over salted. The hashbrowns were a little greasy, but they were really crispy which I love. The bisuit was good, but more of a "northern biscuit" than a Southern biscuit. My husband had the Crab Benny which had "lots of crabmeat" which he loved, but said the hollandaise sauce was a bit bland. The ambiance was cute, had the breakfast restaurant feel, it was clean, comfortable. Overall, it was a good experince and wish I had taken a pic. read more

We were visiting Merritt Island, and found this on yelp. It was only about 4 miles away and we drove to it. It was a Friday morning and there was plenty of parking although it says usually not enough available. We ordered breakfast and I had a bloody bloody. Mary and my wife had pineapple mimosa. Our server was quite pleasant. Told us about the restaurant and I had a good time walking around taking pictures of things and soon enough our food arrived. I ordered the huevos rancheros and my wife ordered the skillet. Both were served in a skillet, but the huevos rancheros has three tortillas on the bottom layer of salsa, cheese, onions, and two eggs on top. Oh, and don't forget the jalapeños. This was simply delicious and a definite Mexican style , not the best I've ever had but pretty good. My wife had the skillet. It was rather plain compared to mine. However, she must've enjoyed it. She ate it all. The potatoes are these cubes. They must buy them like that cause they're all the same size and I think they deep fry them but they were fine. And don't forget to order a bloody Mary, spicy but delicious. My wife had the pineapple mimosa which she said was good. Not a bad little place for breakfast. I saw the pancakes come out. Every time I drive by the parking lot is full so I had to visit to see what all of the hype was. First I'll start with the ambiance, it has a clean crisp modern yet home diner feel. The Menu is vast with a variety of choices. Staff was friendly and made you feel like you were in your dining room, enjoying a breakfast that was just prepared in your own kitchen. I started with a coffee and they have the cutest clear coffee mugs! Then as reviewing the menu I saw that they had mimosas so I asked the waitress which one she recommend and she recommended a flight of mimosas which gave me the option to try every mimosa, they had peach, orange, pineapple and strawberry. The pineapple was my favorite but they were all very good! I would say it was like paying for a bottomless mimosa and you got the amount you would most likely drink with a bottomless mimosa for 16.95! Now let's move on to what everyone is really coming here for the food. I had the Jalapeño bacon & eggs, it was cooked perfectly and the bacon had a nice spice to it but not to spicey. The eggs cooked perfectly, toast nice and buttery and the hash browns had the perfect crispy yet tender consistency. My fiancé had Joes scramble with the potatoes, he thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well! Everything cooked to perfection. One of the options they have with the meals is toast or a cookie. We were a bit confused. What is a Cookie? I mean other than a regular cookie we thought it couldn't be a regular cookie thinking it might be however a biscuit and they call it a cookie, I was wrong. They actually have a cookie that they cook every day in house. So we got one, had to try it! It was good. I see a lot of reviews on the prices being to high but everything now a data is high and the service was great, the food was great, the atmosphere was great! The price I feel fits into the overall experience and was worth the price! This place is a cute little breakfast diner with quite a large menu. They have several different menu options available as well as the traditional breakfast choices. I got my usual mix of eggs, bacon, and pancakes which came out of the kitchen within 5 minutes after ordering! Super fast service despite it being quite busy. Food was delicious! My selection consisted of homemade corned beef hash, prepared with bell pepper, onion and two eggs. Now this is some awesome food! (Feast your eyes on the picture). I am presented with large, tender strips of corned beef, accompanied by a very nice biscuit. Patrons are given an option to forgo the biscuit in favor of a cookie. I could not resist, of course and picked both. The cookie was utterly delicious. Allow me to be clear on this; if Sherry was not available to assist, facilitate, and ease the burden that often accompanies a crowded restaurant, it's quite possible that the service provided would be appraised as average at best or perhaps very nearly teetering on the verge of unmitigated absumption. Please resist any attending compulsion. which may exist, to send me messages complaining about the caliber of the service. My experience, along with the quality of the food was simply outstanding. This review almost has to be written in three parts. When we first arrived we noticed that there was adequate parking for the establishment. That is sometimes that is forgotten about at some of the establishments around here. We entered and quickly were asked if we preferred a booth or table. We chose a booth and were seated. One of the two waitresses working took out drink order and dropped off menus to us. The selection is good for a breakfast brunch place. I tried a mushroom Swiss burger cooked medium and added sautéed onions to it with a side of potato salad. My wife had a chili omelet with seasoned potatoes and white toast. The food came out quickly and was presented well. One thing we noticed was that the portions were a tad bit smaller than we would expect from a place we would typically choose. The potato salad was great! The burger was great! My wife reported her omelet and potatoes were great! So why 4 stars and not 5? That is where the second half of this review comes in. After the food was dropped off our waitress kind of disappeared. She was busy and doing things but since the majority of her work was done we weren't checked on again until til the end when it was time to pay the bill. Nothing major but one more check between the time food was delivered and the bill is due would have been nice. The other issue was that we left and still had to find a place to eat second brunch. The cost was about the same for typical Restaraunts but because the portion sizes were smaller so we left desiring more. I don't think I would come here if I was hungry hungry but if I was hanging out with friends and needed a nice place to relax and have a bite I would pick this place. read more

These were obviously something not home cooked by the restaurant, but something in a bag they dump into the fryer. They were not hot, nor fresh, and disgusting. At $13, this was a rip-off. Wife ordered the grilled cheese w/ potato salad - and she didn't care for the potato salad. Priced to high and mediocre food. Better choice is Debbie's Diner or Cozy Corner. read more

We went to the Whisk and Grind in Merritt Island for the first time for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We've seen the lines, and assumed it would be super busy and hard to get in. To our surprise we went at 11 AM and got right in, and we're seated right away! The staff was super friendly and very helpful providing recommendations and explaining their extensive menu. The food was solid! Lots of choices and something that would appeal to everyone. Had their basic breakfast plate and it was delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly, biscuits were fresh and sampled the jalapeño bacon. Yum! Smoky with a kick! Sandwiches looked very good too. A really nice option for the breakfast/lunch crowd! read more

A nice place to eat on Merritt Island. This is located just north of the Merritt Island Causeway on the east side of US-3. It is a stand-alone building with limited parking that is situated mostly on the south side of the building. It seems a relatively new restaurant with a new feel to it. As you enter, you are greeted and led to a table or booth. The seating area is all inside at this location and is a mixture of tables and booths in a large central room. The kitchen is visible as you enter the room to the left of the hostess station. It has an open feel to it thanks to the back of windows along the south side. The decor is very tastefully done with white, ceiling, dark floors and sayings on the wall. The waitress was friendly and professional. She took our order quickly and efficiently. The menu had the usual breakfast and lunch choices with most meals in the $10-$15 range. I tried the french toast and bacon. It was thick slices of toast with powdered sugar. Overall, it was a pleasant experience that I would try again and recommend for others in the area looking for a good breakfast meal. read more

My husband was thrilled that they have actual homemade corned beef hash (sorry, no photo) and our daughter and I enjoyed our omelets. A good variety of breakfast dishes, quick and friendly service, and reasonable prices make this a definite go-to. Nicole was our server and she was great.
