Worst experience at a business. Ever. Horrible customer service (Ruben). Multiple negative experiences, but today was the worst (and last). If you're in need of UPS services, go across the street to the Mail Center USA. Took a large, double walled, prepaid box for drop off. Was called before leaving the parking lot and told my box would not be shipped because it contained alcohol. I assured Ruben it did not contain alcohol, but two vintage speakers instead. After returning to the store, I was told it was against Federal law to ship alcohol. I again told him the box did not contain alcohol. He then said that he was going to open the box and confiscate and destroy the liquor inside immediately. I welcomed him to open the box as long as it was repacked and sealed once he confirmed that there was no liquor inside, only two speakers as I've said all along. He then opened the box and discovered two speaker boxes surrounded by recycled wine packing and NO ALCOHOL. After confirming that I was being truthful, instead of apologizing and resealing the box, he said that customers lie to him all the time regarding contents. Obviously insulted, I asked if he thought it was fair to assume I was lying simply because someone else did? I was then told that he couldn't ship the box because it was obviously a wine box, and that I would have to repackage the speakers before he could ship. He refused to process my prepaid shipment even though he confirmed it did not contain alcohol. I took the package across the street to Mail Center USA and was told there was no issue shipping the package. When I told them of my experience with Ruben, they laughed and said that if the package doesn't contain alcohol, it's just a double walled box. UPS Store Corporate agreed. When I told them of my experience with Ruben, I was asked if he apologized after opening the shipment and finding out it was not alcohol. Not only was there no apology, he attempted to justify his distrust and rudeness by blaming it on prior customer experiences. I honestly have no idea how a business that treats customers this way still has any. It's no mystery why this place only has 3 stars (should be less), and the Mail Center USA across the street has 5. read more

UPS store on Slaughter and Manchaca is full of rude, unhelpful people, but this location on Bees Cave is amazing. Nikki was very helpful and pleasant. Will definitely recommend this location over others in the area. read more

The worst customer service by far. The girl was not that friendly while beginning my shipping order. We ran into a hiccup and I ended up not shipping my boxes due to regulations. My grandmother used this store to send a loved one some money inside a birthday card. She told the man working there (Ruben?) that there was money inside the birthday card. He said NOTHING to her about sensing cash. The cash was sealed inside the bday card and two envelopes. The card arrived at its destination with the money missing from the card with both envelopes opened but the bday card still there. It's plain that the employees here stole the money from this package and sent it anyways (the tracking number would have shown it hadn't been sent if they hadn't). When my grandmother went here to confront the workers they said that a neighbor must have taken it and that if she had said she was sending cash they would have told her not to. Yeah right. She has sent money like this countless times from this store and the only time the money came up missing is when she actually mentioned there was money in the package. I will NEVER use this store and would not suggest anyone ever does. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THE REPLY BY THE STORE OWNER: No, it is in fact NOT illegal to send cash in the mail. It was my grandmother sending a loved one some cash in a birthday card, and your employees stole it. What kind of business owner would respond in this way? Horrible horrible management and employees. The manager of this UPS location, whose name is Rueben, was having an argument with a customer when I walked in the store. The customer was upset that Ruben had oversized his package and thus over- charged him. In question was the method by which UPS measures boxes. Rueben kept insisting that the UPS method is to always round up. By example, a box with a longest side measuring 30.125 inches would be rounded up to 31. The customer tried to explain that this wasn't the proper way to round. And Ruben kept saying "please tell me you're smarter than that" to the customer. Thinking I could resolve the issue, I pulled up the UPS web site to the page that that explains how to measure your package size (http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/prepare/oversize.html?srch_pos=1&srch_phr=Dim+weight&WT.mc_id=VAN700147) It clearly states that you should measure the longest side of your box and round to the nearest inch. When I showed this to the manager he said "that's right...you measure up!" Really? I'll never go to that UPS store again. And I'm positive that this guy with his genius math skills has been overcharging people for years. read more

The employees at this particular UPS store were very friendly and helpful. I had two packages, one "bricked" Xbox 360 I was sending with a pre-paid label and one other package. The particular employee who helped me had first hand experience with sending an Xbox 360 back for repairs, we talked about games and hardware over the course of the transaction. It's always nice when you can connect with an employee. The other package was not pre-paid, and the very same employee informed us it would in fact be cheaper to go across the street to the local post office and ship it there, saving us about eight bucks. We will definitely be returning to this branch for our parcel shipping needs. read more

When I come to UPS its not because they can ship things, but it's because of the customer service and expert knowledge that I am hoping to receive.... The 1 time I went there I received none of that! The manager Ruben is nothing more than a greasy salesman. During a time where job security changes day to day due to covid-19, I am needing to make every dollar stretch. I came in trying to get advice and help to ship my beloved wake board because I am in need of extra spending money to help keep the lights on, and not evicted from my apartment. Ruben proceeds to up-sell me on purchasing a box for the board and quotes me $150 plus to ship this item. I ask him if this is the cheapest way to ship this and he says yes. He then begins to package up the board up for me doesn't quote me a price until he is done, and then charges me $40. I proceed to go right across the street to USPS and they quote me $35, and tell me I don't need a box and can ship it in bubble wrap. So I then go back to ask for a refund for the box because I no longer have any use for it, and never needed it in the first place. Ruben proceeds to not refund me and not even give me a slight refund, and he says that because the box was made specifically for my item he no longer will have any use for it, and will not be giving me a refund. Meanwhile I reach out a friend of mine who works at the UPS store in Lakeway and he says that they refund situations like this all the time, and they would just leave it hanging around until somebody had something of that size to ship or that they would cut it up and use if for other smaller items in the future. I had a Dell laptop worth over $2300 diverted to this store since I was going to be out of town at the ​time of delivery. I went to the store when I returned to pick it up. They claimed I had already picked it up and showed me a signature that clearly wasn't mine. They can't be trusted. I'm now waiting for UPS corporate to resolve this. The manager (owner?) was very rude and said that they verified the ID and this wasn't his problem. They either have leakage out the back door or aren't paying attention to who they hand packages to. read more

I went to this UPS store on Thursday wearing a mask and the manager did not have a mask on. I politely said that I'm wearing a mask and was surprised that he wasn't. He said that he was in the back and probably forgot to put it on. He went in the back and send one of his employees out who also didn't have a mask on. Then he came out again without a mask. The large man (my apologies I don't know his name) that works the counter has always been so rude every time I've come in. I decided to write this review as it has been a reoccurring theme with this employee. I came in to return an Amazon package and he was very dismissive and REFUSED to help me. When I say refused, I mean he was unwilling to process my return because it was "a hassle to print the label." Yes those were his words, a HASSLE to do his job and help a customer. In fact, he skipped over me in line twice and when he came to the 3rd person in line, that person kindly stood up for me and asked him if he was going to help me. The customer and the employee got into an argument as he was rude to her as well, and I ended up just walking out. This employee was unprovoked, I was very kind and did not make any faces or use any attitude in my tone of voice. I was apologetic that it was a hassle, to the point where another customer had to step in and stand up for me. I ended up just leaving without being helped and will return this item at a different UPS store. Again, this employee has been absolutely AWFUL every time I've come in but today it upset me so much that I need to warn others of avoiding this location all together. Do NOT stop here to ship packages, especially if you're having a bad day! The manager I interacted with lacks empathy and a basic grasp of customer service. (I gave myself several days before writing this review to make sure I could approach it with clear perspective.) His behavior toward me felt borderline abusive, and I left the store very upset and cried when I got to my car. I had an Amazon return to drop off. When the manager scanned my return code he informed me that I needed to have the item in a package AFTER he printed the return label. I was returning a pair of shoes (boxed) and did not have an additional box with me as I'd never had to provide one before with my Amazon returns. I asked the manager if he had a box I could use, and he said he could sell me one. On principle I couldn't purchase a box when the floor was littered with them and I had plenty at home in my garage nor did I want to spend $3+ to do so. I asked him several more times nicely if he could help me out, and he continued to be hostile and argumentative telling me that if he gave me a box he'd have to give everyone a box. At this point I decided I would return the item at my regular UPS Store near my home and asked for my label. The manager would not give me the label due to fraud concerns. I said, "So basically you're holding my label hostage?" He said, "This has nothing to do with me." Like I said, he was a very nice guy. He said I could cancel the return with Amazon and generate a new return. I didn't want that hassle so I went outside to hopefully find a box somewhere as it was a busy strip center with lots of foot traffic and incoming deliveries. Luckily I then remembered that I had a carton of baby wipes in my car and ultimately dumped them all out and went back in with that box. I was honestly worried that the manager wouldn't let me use it since it was a Huggies box covered in colorful graphics and/or would charge me to tape it closed. )Based on other reviews it sounds like I was lucky he did not!) As I turned to leave, the manager bid me farewell with "Via con Dios" which I've since learned can carry a "Go to hell" connotation. Nice. We use UPS to ship for our small business constantly... Never and I mean NEVER have I ever encountered a worse location. In every experience I've had here, the staff is rude, slow (SO SLOW), and poorly trained but none more so than the Manager. They recently messed up a shipment of ours and not only did he not apologize but he BLAMED ME that THEY put THE WRONG LABLE on our package!!!?! I had a physical receipt and an email from that location at matching times and different tracking codes to prove that they messed something up but he was in no way apologetic and just made up excuses that made no sense the entire time. Now our package and it's hundreds of dollars worth of inventory is missing and they absolutely refuse to help at all. The manager not only blamed ME but insisted that I point out ( I mean literally POINT A FINGER at one of the people working. He even did a head motion) the employee who was "responsible." I told him that if he wanted to figure that out he could simply look up who was working on that day at that time and I wasn't there to get anyone in trouble. I simply wanted an explanation and solution to the issue at hand. If you want to be treated with decency, DO NOT COME HERE. Upon leaving the store, several other costumers approached me to say "he's always like that" and "he's NEVER any help at all" "worst UPS store ever" and to "just got to the S. Lamar location." We moved to the area back in August and have been having issues with this store ever since but this was the last straw. Although this is within walking distance from my house, I will go out of my way to go to ANY other UPS store. If the owner ever reads this, PLEASE GET A BETTER MANAGER. Your store is an absolute joke and I dread walking in. I'm not alone. It's not just me- People are noticing and it's pretty messed up that you allow your store to be ran this way and for your customers to be treated with such blatant disrespect. Fix. Your. Austin UPS lost my earrings when I moved out of state back in June. I am still devastated by the loss! Most of the earrings were costume jewelry anyway but it is still sad to lose my whole earring collection. I still think someone at the store stole it because it never even left Texas. . . and my other packages that I shipped arrived. I am still holding out help they will magically appear on my doorstep. The bigger guy working in this UPS store stole my book and never shipped it to Amazon. The book was done without a package, with an Amazon produced code, so guy saw the book and made a comment that it looked like an interesting book. He started to open it and I said try and keep it in new condition because I have to return it new. And then he proceeded to tell me that it really didn't matter because Amazon burns all the books that they get back whether they are new or not. I said that may or may not be true but I told them I would like to return it in new condition anyway to get my full credit. The book should've only taken two days to be returned and credited, but it was never received. Two weeks later I checked and Amazon still hadn't gotten it. And then three weeks they still hadn't received it. Thinking back now, I think UPS should've given me an automatic credit at the register, but at least I got a receipt, and Amazon was nice enough to give me my return credit. And, Amazon said that it is not true that they burn books that are returned. Just wanted to give a heads up to all who use this office because especially in unboxed returns, somebody could easily steal your package. read more

I'm pretty sure I was that customer in Brenda E.'s review. I remember and appreciate her trying to help. Rueben (the store manager) was not only wrong, but he was incredibly rude. You will be interested to know that after being repaired the SAME item came back to me in the SAME box. The price charged by the UPS store at the other end as the item was sent back to me was considerably less. I don't remember how much less, but roughly 50% to 60% of what Rueben came up with using his incorrect and possibly purposely incorrect method.
