After reading these reviews I have to agree with the comments about the workers here. I'm not sure of Ryan is just a miserable person but he has no business working with people. He is rude, doesn't make eye contact and talks down to people. If you don't like this job there are others out there, maybe something that doesn't involve interacting with people. I shipped a rather large package on 2.10.2024. It is hard to mistake or even lose for that matter as it is a large wooden box containing a model ship I built. A completely irreplaceable item. Well needless to say when I go looking into where it may be there have been no updates in over two weeks (since 2.12.2024). The Barrington office can't tell me where it is and nor can the local distribution warehouse where it was supposedly sent according to tracking and the Barrington office. When I called the Barrington office they said they would look into it and try to find it and call me back. Well it has been a full day now and not a single call or update to where this priceless item may be. They also tell me to call their customer service numbers in which I can get the information I need. Well sure as heck that was a waste of time since it appears UPS only uses automated service and only tells you there is an issue and to call the local office or file a claim. No way you can even speak to a real person and you get absolutely help. I filed a claim but am not having high hopes with this crappy service from this Barrington store or UPS as a whole. Simply terrible service and help all around. By the way. The wooden box has pine side panels and a plywood top and bottom. Its size is approximately 5 feet long, 15 inches wide, and 10 inches high. Extremely rude employees here. I've only been here a couple times and it has been consistently bad service. I had to drop off 2 packages, and happened to be in the area so it was more convenient at the time, but never again. I said hello and no one replied. The one person who was at the front said, "I can't help you right now" then called someone in the back. When another person arrived, I also said hello to him, and again no response. He just scanned my package and handed me the receipt. Although this location is closer to me, I prefer to travel the to Lake Zurich or Kildeer UPS locations for a much better experience. read more

The staff at this store were so helpful. We were shipping many boxes in various states of readiness for shipping, some needing special packaging. Their help made the entire process easy and seamless. I recommend going. I recommend going at off peak hours, not the end of the day if you can. Even so, one load we dropped off just before closing and everything was handled perfectly. read more

I have never had such a terrible experience shipping packages back. I shipped 2 completely different jackets to 2 different locations and this UPS location switched the shipping labels which resulted in these packages getting sent to the wrong locations! I ended up losing $500 due to their mistake because now these packages are lost and the warehouses refuse to return my jackets or refund me. To make things worse, this location and UPS refuses to compensate me for their mistakes that their employees made. Never dealt with such an upsetting or stressful situation like this before and I refuse to return to this location because they clearly do not care about yourself or where your packages end up. read more

If I could give no stars, I would! Absolutely the most rude person I ever had to deal with! Went in with my return for an Amazon package, I needed help, as I needed a label printed, and I didn't have my glasses! Ryan at the counter who never said hello, or smiled or even wouldn't make eye contact, was who I had to deal with, unfortunately told me I would have to contact Amazon as it was an email from a third party! Didn't say anything else! Went to my car where my glasses were, and saw that it was not the case. Went back in, and asked if he was sure he couldn't print it out. Another guy, who I know works there, but didn't have his UPS shirt on, he was just printing stuff out the whole time, took my phone and fixed it so it could be printed, but then chastised me because I put my return box on the counter on top of his "wedding stuff"! Apparently, he wasn't on duty, only printing his "wedding stuff" at the time! Ryan went and got my label, printed my receipt and handed it to me! Never said sorry about almost costing me to make an unnecessary trip back, goodbye, have a good day... nothing! I will NEVER EVER go in this place again...they ruined my whole day! DO NOT USE! Dropped letter off on a Tuesday 6/9 paid 2nd day air $28 delivery end of day TH 6/11 Bluffton SC ...they lost the letter and was not even picked up til Friday 6/12 ... delivered late in day 6/16! No willingness to help resolve the problem or help get a rebate - complete rudeness and assholes through the entire conversation! Blamed COVID...but took my money and blamed UPS ...let them go down! I go to this UPS location about once or twice a month and I have always received good service. I often bring in Amazon returns and the process is quick and painless. And their Notary service is very convenient and inexpensive. read more

I have never been to a place that had such rude and unhelpful employees. The last two times I was just hoping that they had a bad day. But today, as I was struggling with a very heavy, large box, the 3 employees just stood there watching me try to lug it in. Maybe they're not allowed to help patrons, but at least when I did got it on the counter in front of them, no one said hello, or made any comment....not one word from anyone. And this happened the last two times, too. I said hi and how are you....and nothing. What is going on there?? Either they all hate their jobs or they are just jerks. The manager at this store is VERY dishonest and unprofessional. I shipped a $600 item through them, it arrived at its location and was denied dropoff because the UPS STORE EMPLOYEE shipped it as "media" which requires additional postage,and I told him to ship it USPS ground. My product was denied delivery and is now lost somewhere in the return process. Store manager Kevin is taking 0 accountability and more-so, blaming it on me for not choosing a different shipping option. VERY DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL! The staff here is extremely nice and friendly and do not deserve anything less than a five-star review. I just called the Barrington IL store to try to get information on moving "stuff" to another state. The items are in a storage unit and I won't know exactly what has to be moved until I get there but I have a general idea. When I asked what sort of information they need to give me to develop an estimate of cost, they said I would have to bring the items to their location, with the address, all packed and ready to go. Only then would they give me a quote. I know you are a very big company, responsible for shipping all over the world. I am not looking for a guaranteed quote, just an estimate. Since pricing will impact who I select for shipping that's not a realistic options. The easiest would be for UPS to come to the unit, pack everything up and ship. I was thrilled to see the offer to get a quote through Yelp and hope they will be more helpful online. read more
