Really rude service from this store. It is supervised the middle age man, who is the owner of this store behaves extremely rude and unprofessional. He intentionally refused my Amazon package with original box. He even threatened to call the security while I just pointed out he was doing things wrongly. How hilarious. This situation must be seriously addressed. This is not his first time being rude and hostile. He constantly create frictions for customers. It's unacceptable that UPS allows this situation happens in this store. As I read through the reviews, several customers mentioned this man is extremely rude. I came here with my parents to get some legal papers notarized and some copies made of those and other documents. First of all, Emil and the two ladies behind the counter were incredibly kind to my parents, who are elderly. They offered them chairs to sit while we went through volumes of paperwork. Thank you so much to all of you. Second, Emil was super efficient with the notarizing process. We had to do this same thing a while back and went to a different store and they were super slow compared to our experience here. Third, they all helped make sure the copying and collating got done quickly so that my parents didn't have to wait for a long time. I come here to drop off Amazon packages usually so have had very little interaction with the staff. We will definitely be coming to this UPS store for all our future needs! One of their associates sent me on a wild goose chase as I was trying to use an account number to ship a package I was told I could do it here an needed to go to a "hub" in south SF. The address they told me to go to is to a location that has been closed for an entire year so when I try to call the store to get an address of a hub I could actually go to I was put on hold for 30 minutes before I just said screw it I'm not wasting my time anymore. I came to this UPS store to return an Amazon package where I already paid for the return label. I had to pay a service fee to have them print the label for me which is understandable but I feel like $5 to simply print a label I already have is pretty ridiculous. One of my family members works at a UPS store too and they only charge $2 for that service which I think is overkill but more reasonable. However, the main thing that I'm most dissatisfied with was the fact that my item was in the original plastic bag it was shipped in and just needed tape, however, the worker helping me just shoved it into another padded bag and charged me for it with out asking me or telling me the price of it. I felt like the service was very predatory. This location completed my return but they won't be receiving a return visit from me. read more

This location is a hit and miss. I guess the level of the services gets a bit down with summer vacation jobs. On the other hand, the location of this UPS is pretty central and most people are mostly polite here. My frequent interaction with UPS is around recycling Nespresso coffee pods. It was pretty funny when I had a bag full of coffee Nespresso pods, which label was missing. Nevertheless UPS has some kind of deal with prepaid UPS recycling program, staff here didn't know a thing about it. Then, one of the clerks suggested me help in throwing the bag out. It was a pretty amusing situation. I understand there is a lot going on and UPS is providing a lot of services, but some of these programs are falling through because some staff lack knowledge and/or proper training. On 12-16-22 I went to this store to ship a package to Austin, TX. The estimated shipping cost for my package with dimensions 19 in X 15 in X 1 in and weighing 1 pound was $48.50 for 2nd Day Air. The store weighed and measured my package; it was 19 inches long, 14.5 inches wide, and weighed 0.5 pound. The store said their price for 2nd Day Air was $76.29. I asked why their actual rate was almost twice the estimate from their website. A guy, quite possibly the owner, said the online prices are for large businesses generating high volumes of business; not for retail customers. I took his word and paid for the shipment. When I got home I rechecked the estimate on the store's website. The footnotes of the estimate for $48.50 said "Estimated rates quoted here are based on UPS retail rates." Also, the online estimate is specifically called out as being for The UPS Store Belmont, 1025 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA, not UPS, the parent company. I have a PDF of the online estimate and the receipt. In other words, the store owner's explanation was more than misleading - it was not correct. Presumably the store is pocketing the massive additional profit. I have had reasonable experiences buying small items from this store, but this price gouging and flat-out untruth has completely changed my view. If you are looking for customer service, the store at Carlmont is not the one to go. Have an Amazon return, did not know I need to seal the box this time. In the past, the shipping company sealed. Would not offer a 15" of tape but have one to sell. I normally ship stuff out thru them monthly. Just one time asking for a piece of tape and it is NO and have to drive home to get a piece of tape. reply to store comment. Emil and Bhavna run an amazing store. Their staff are polite and well trained, and offer good guidance on the best options for shipping. If a younger staff person don't know the answer to a question, they don't BS their way through it, they go and find out the answer from a supervisor. And if a package is important, employees will follow up via email and phone to make sure you know the status of your shipment. Save your money. Go elsewhere. They make it look like easy service, then once done, give you a ridiculous bill. I've been here twice. Figured maybe the first time is a fluke. Once to pack and ship a couple of boxes, and once to get notary on some documents. The packing job is 20-30 plus cost of materials. More if you're packing electronics. Then the shipping charge which is double the retail rate for UPS that you'd get at home by printing a label, forget the fact they get preferred rates from the carrier at 80% off retail. The notary service is 15/signature and it's free at your local bank. Takes them a few minutes to sign the docs, and the more they sign in one sitting, the more they charge. Do yourself a favor, don't come here. read more

Emil Sheth is a superstar. Amazing customer service and communication. I shipped a "high value " (UPS term) item to my brother 2 day air and paid for insurance. I chose UPS over USPS. Unfortunately the package arrived 4 days later leaving my brother (receiver) and me sort of nervous as to where the family heirloom was. There was apparently an accident with the truck. Emil issued a claim on my behalf and actually called me to let me know status. I will use this UPS store for all of my future shipping needs. Thank you Emil. I have been shipping internationally from this store for years. A few weeks ago I had shipped a package to the UK, and was told there was an "exception" holding up delivery. It appeared that customs in UK had slapped a COD charge on the package. After trying to resolve via the UPS website without result, I called back to the store. Bhavna said she would check into and get back to me - which she did. She helped me to arrange to pay the COD charges from my end so the package could be delivered - I was really pleased. She also followed up to make sure the package was actually delivered. Best followup ever!!!! read more

Very flaky store. They ran out of supplies to take a passport picture even though I told them I was coming to take a picture! How can they not have back-up stock and a system to replenish! They could have checked when I called. On Saturday Nov 3 at 11.45 am, the store was closed in spite of the posted hours stating it would be open. There were about three other people waiting! I have been a customer here for about 5 years. New owners recently took over and the customer service has never been better. The owners and the staff are super friendly and always helpful. I noticed that they not only call me by name but have heard them refer to other customers by name also. I appreciate that and know that if I have anything that requires attention they will do what they can to accommodate my needs. Since I moved here last year, I have been going to this UPS store regularly. Doing the same thing: using their computers to print prepaid labels and ship the packages. My experience is half half. Everytime I see Lisa, I got warm greeting and efficient work done. Feeling good to come to this store because of her. I believe there is an older women, she is also nice. The rest of the staff team,I don't remember their names,are not so pleasant to deal with! They are either confused, or cold or just rude. In one occasion, I was told it was a favor that they taped my package...well, your colleagues are much nicer than you. Also I just paid 1.5$ for using your computer.(I never have problems using their tapes before) Since then, I am bring my own tapes. I dont want to feel like I am taking advantage by using their tapes. Today I went in again. Did not get to see Lisa but a new girl. After using the printer, I got up and about to queue for check out. She stared at me as if I am stealing something from her. When I paid with card, I can tell she was very impatient and it turned out she did not push the right button for checking out. You see, its the attitude that matters. Maybe UPS is a intense company to work for or this place needs more staff training. read more

Worst UPS customer service ever! I went there to use notary services. They told me that I need an appointment (which is not indicated on their site) then he told me that if I come back in 15 min, it should be OK. So, we go back in 15 min. there is a long line. The strip mall security asks inside if there is a notary appointment and he says"no". So, I left and will never use this one again. My previous experiences weren't any different either. read more

Hate is a strong word, but I can say with complete confidence that I hate this location. It's small, which is fine, but it takes FOREVER and a day for them to do even the most basic thing, like accept a package that already a has a label and just needs to ship out, for example, and they're completely unfamiliar with even the standard services that their location offers, like online printing. I don't currently own a printer, but frequently need to print light documents. For 18 cents a pop, it's no scratch to go online to UPS, upload my doc and have it printed by xx time for that nominal fee, but mentally harrowing to come here, wait in line for 30 minutes, then get up to the register girl to ask about picking up my print job that was supposed to have been printed 4 hours earlier and that's already been paid for only for the girl behind the counter to react as I'd just walked into bank and asked for a giraffe. She seemed totally unaware that they offer this online print service, which, from my understanding, is actually a semi big part of the UPS store's business. I look over at the outbox cubbies and can see my single sheet of paper document sitting there, looking at me, but the girl is more stuck on her confusion about there being any kind of print service offered at all and keeps asking my relation to Candice G_______ that I want to pick up her print job. I had to respond more than once in a very cyclical conversation that I was, in fact, the Candice G_______ who placed the order and paid for the print job and she still tried to re-charge me for the print job that she didn't even know existed. Every time I come here it's one bungle after another to the point where I've decided to splurge on a printer of my own so I never have to do this song and dance with this UPS store again. read more

Don't ever do live scan fingerprint here the same thing happened as a previous review states the finger prints were never sent. They will tell you they did but they don't. The girls working here have attitude (except for the blonde girl she is really nice) but the other two. Buyer beware. You have to know your postage rates when you go to this store. I had a square greeting card with envelope that said "extra postage required." The clerk told me this was incorrect. When I disagreed he weighed it and said it wasn't heavy enough to require extra postage. I said I think because of the abnormal size it requires more postage. He adamantly disagreed. Because I didn't know the amount of postage required, which is why I went to this store in the first place, I left without a purchase and went elsewhere. I called the store later with a fyi to the manager so he could educate the staff. Maybe I was too nice about it. He didn't seem to care. To be confident that my mail will arrive successfully, in the future I'll go to the UPS store on Laurel or the post office. read more

I've shipped from this UPS store before - no problems. I had a UPS package delivered to the store a couple months back and picked it up once it arrived. Again, no problem. Today, i saw on my UPS tracker that another package i had delivered to this UPS store had been delivered. I went there and the clerk told me they had refused the package - that the driver came in with it but they didn't accept it. He also informed me that they were not allowed to accept packages from people other than UPS store box holders. This policy made sense though they HAD accepted a UPS drop delivery to me in the past. I went home and called UPS to find out where my package was. It took multiple UPS agents and a call to the driver to figure out that UPS *had* delivered the package to the UPS store. I went back to the UPS store and the clerk brought the package out to me. It was stamped Return to Sender, per their policy apparently. When i asked if he knew my package was there the first time i visited, he admitted yes. So rather than attempting to provide good customer service (give me my package and inform me of their policy), he instead lied to me during my prior visit and withheld my package. Never taking my business there again! read more

I was having a great deal of trouble with my mail where I live a few years ago and I decided to rent a mailbox. It's one of the best decisions I've made. They do an excellent job distributing the mail to your box. If your box gets full as mine often does they hold your mail neatly for a long time. You can also have packages for there. They are very organized and even help you to your car with a box. All the services of an UPS store are open for your use. There is good parking. All the people who work there are professional and very helpful. These days knowing your mail is safe is a big deal. It's well worth the fee. read more

Have been using this store for years as it's close to our home in San Carlos...I do a lot of shipping back and forth to our other home in Palm Springs. Last week, I took in 5 large boxes to ship and was introduced to the new owner, Emil. Couldn't ask for better customer service....they went out of their way to expedite the process, even bringing out a hand truck to take the boxes out of my car. I paid them $79 for a digital finger print scan. After waiting 6 weeks, i was informed by the agency that had requested the scan that they never got the results. I went back repeatedly to ask them to redo the scan & they refused & told me that they had done it & I should just call the FBI or the DOJ!
