This crew is great. I'm surprised I didn't give them a review earlier. After a family death, I needed a number of things notarized, and they were quick and friendly and available. More recently I shipped a huge family heirloom across the country, they advised on packing and shipping, took the time to explain the process, helped with final packing and close-out, and kept track of it as it moved across the country to a successful delivery. When I closed my safe deposit box in Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii, I used the UPS Store at the Carlmont Shopping Center in Belmont to send my safe deposit box key and a letter notarized by Bhavna, owner and notary public. A week later, I was notified by First Hawaiian Bank that what they had received from the UPS Carrier was a ripped open package with an unreadable letter. I reported the incident to Bhavna and her staff, who gave me the number to call for UPS corporate headquarters. Long story shortened: Bhavna did a remarkable job in supporting my claim, making phone calls to UPS corporate and persistently doing following up. Two months later, after numerous calls by Bhavna on my behalf, UPS refunded me the cost of the shipment and the cost of 2 notarized letters. I really appreciate all the work Bhavna did on my behalf! I am now a huge fan of this location thanks to the over and above service I received from Emil Sheth. I package I had mailed from this location got "lost in transit". He helped me for two months with the detective work including taking over the tedious process of filing my claim. They are kind of rude, not overtly., but they make you feel stupid. The few times I have gone in it was the same thing. The last time the guy said, "next time, tape up the box." It was in a slightly snotty tone. Frankly, if I had packing tape and laying around, I would have taped it and taken it to the post office, where it is much cheaper. read more

Made an appointment on the web, which was easy. They have 3 notaries, so can reliably cover the store hours. I've always had a great experience at this location and always choose it over the UPS store on 41st in San Mateo. I find the Carlmont location to be quick, easy and efficient. The store is always neat, organized, clean and picked up which instills confidence that they can keep track of things. :) They are also friendly, even when they are busy. This is important to me They always acknowledge my presence and let me know they will be with me as soon as possible. I've rarely had to wait long. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews. I like this location and think the ladies there really hustle to get everyone's needs met, especially the manager with the long hair (think her name is Lisa). Sure, I've gone in a couple times over the holidays and the wait was long, but by long, I'm talking five - seven minutes. I don't think that is too bad. One negative is that they aren't open Sunday for drop offs, but not sure how many locations actually are. You can buy USPS stamps here too which is nice, and they do passport pictures and faxes as well. read more

I love this UPS store! The service reps are very helpful, especially to my husband who needs help printing. Sure, if the line is out the door, come back when it is shorter. I recommend buying a discount card for your printing - it saves time and no money changes hands each time you print - a small or large number of copies. read more

I will not return to this UPS store. I was a regular customer till couple weeks ago I had to ship 30 boxes and I had a pick up service requested. Over phone I asked if I need to order label pockets to what I got an answer that the local ups store ( which is this one to me) can give me those label pockets. Next morning I had a pick up service arrive so I rushed to the store asking if I could get some to what I got a response that they won't give more than 2 pieces. This wasn't the first time I shipped that many boxes and never before I had an issue. I asked if that is a new rule or something to what I didn't even get a response. The person at the counter even called manager and manager said the same thing. Very unhelpful even though I explained the situation jay I need them now. I had to leave the store empty handed. After what I called ups customer service and hey were surprised that this branch refused to give those pockets to me. They told me that all ups branches get unlimited amount for free from UPS to give them to people in cases like this. They didn't tell me they were out of them, they were just unhelpful, rude and the service was just low. Next morning I had to take all 30 labels by hand. I just had the most horrible experience involving this UPS location. I went to pick up my package which had originally been attempted to be dropped off by a UPS driver, but because it required a signature they could not leave at my door. They left a note to pick it up at the Carlmont UPS store. The first time I tried to pick it up it was not at the store yet, so I mentioned to the female clerk that I had an important valuable package arriving because she asked me for some information about the package. When I went to pick up my envelope the next day the envelope had a hole in it just big enough for someone to steal the contents inside. What is worse is that the UPS employees that day offered little to no help or sympathy except giving me a 1 800 number. I am out a significant amount of money and the Carlmont UPS store does not care and pretty damn sure the first girl is a thief. I would never use this location (which is also the same owners as the San Carlos location) if you care about working with honest people. read more
