I stopped in today (a Monday morning) to ship a package. Despite ~6 people in line, the store employee deftly handled everyone quickly (often by doing 2-3 tasks at once) with total expertise and courtesy. When it calmed down, we spoke a bit and I was impressed by his positive attitude. Let's face it, he probably deals with some difficult situations in this line of work. I've also entrusted the store to help pack and ship wedding/engagement rings back and forth to a west coast jeweler. My 5 stars are based on 2 years of experiences plus today's excellent customer service. read more

I'm convinced that the customer service rep I encountered had been trained extensively in douchebaggery before getting hired on at this UPS store. I literally had the easiest possible transaction, two small packages with prepaid return labels on them. No greeting from the guy. I had to initiate the hello and the explanation. All he managed to say was "place them on the scale." When I asked him, "Do you want these on the scale if they're already prepaid?" He replied, "Like I said, place them on the scale." I put them down and waited nearby to hear what to do next, if anything. He seemed irritated that I was still standing there. "Aren't we done?" he asked angrily. I told him he hadn't explained if I needed to do anything else. He growled, "I told you to place them on the scale. You placed them on the scale. We're done." I'm not kidding people. I'd rather drive cross country to deliver this stuff. read more

Do you think they set the prices? They are UPS store. And what do you expect from UPS (or FedEx for that matter): it costs money to ship things. It costs a lot. You want cheap? For what I need to do, this place is perfect. I don't use the computers, I ship packages and the guys who work here are always extremely friendly and helpful. I would like to join in the chorus of praise for Garth, who has, according to Yelp, been providing 5-star service here dating back to 2017. After checking around at a few locations, I settled on this store because Garth answered the phone when I called, and my sense was that he would take great care in packing and shipping two violins to California. When I arrived at the store, this sense was confirmed--indeed, even though he was alone in the store for my entire visit there, he had the ability to convince every customer in line that they mattered and their packages mattered, too. Because he was alone, he often had to help two customers at once, which he did with competence and grace. As I left the store, I commented to another customer who was waiting outside that it was worth it because of Garth. Apparently a regular at this location, she responded that she continues to come here because "Garth is awesome." I can't argue with that! (PS: The violins arrived safely.) read more

What more do you want? Ship your boxes and get a tracking number. After USPS lost a coach bag that I shipped to an eBay buyer, I was so pissed that I refused to ship anything through them again. With this UPS location, I haven't had any issues here the two times I have gone. They are located near my train line, very convenient. Having the expectation to be greeted lovingly by each employee and every establishment you walk into is unrealistic. This was the entire dialogue. Me: " I have two boxes to ship." UPS dude: Nods, "okay." He hands me some form to fill out and a pen. I walk over to the side to fill it out. Me: I hand him the form. He begins typing in stuff, and I put the boxes on the scale. UPS dude: "$23.59 is the total." *** I personally never requested a shipping quote online before using UPS but I'm pretty sure that the employees here are not manipulating your cost. They measure and weighs your box, then charge you exactly what the computer tells them...simple.**** Me: Swipe my card. "How much was the white box?" UPS dude: Says something like $11.50. Me: "Thanks." I walk out. I'm not sure what people are looking for when they are going to UPS, but as long as they have materials I need and a dude at the cash register I'm straight. read more

They are rude , do not care about their clients. Tried to use the computer station and dared to ask for assistance. The employees were too busy on their cellphone s to be of any assistance. When one finally came to help he had an attitude and was nasty to boot. They certainly do not represent UPS in a favorable manner. I'll be nice: that seems to work in most cases in life. WRONG. Do NOT come here unless you don't give a damn about 200% overcharging and/or if you have some strange fetish wherein you'd like to be financially raped. For two domestic ground packages, after their inflated box cost, their vague "service" charges, extra bullshit service charge, and "taping" fees, plus what SHOULD be cheap UPS ground transport, I was gouged for $64. I already know I'm signing up to be gouged buying a box: no surprise there. But: really? $7.50 for a single 14"x14"x14" box?? When I go to the UPS website (and do a price simulation for the packages based on destination and origin ZIP codes and dimensions and weight) the freight fees should've been about $26.50 all together. Guess how much this store charged? $42. Plus the obligatory "taping fee" of $5.50 (no way out! impossible to take the box outside or tape it yourself in the store). YOU WILL PAY $5.50 JUST FOR THE DUDE TO FOLD THE BOX AND TAPE THE BUTT IN 5 SECONDS. read more

I've been shipping from this store for two years. My company had the worst experience with the post office destroying over $1000 worth of items then taking us around the bend to get reimbursed on their destruction! I vowed never to use them again. I tried a few other UPS stores in Brooklyn and got popped with attitude and madness. We pay the extra to ship but, haven't had one problem since we switched this UPS store. Parking in this area is dramatic so, I always have to have a trolley and roll the boxes from a block away. The two guys are always helpful, I'm a joker so, I can get anyone to smile and that works. They pack my boxes, sometimes (cause I don't always like to pay the fee) all of my shipping addresses are on file so, it makes the process super easy. I wish they were closer to my house, I don't live downtown so this is a planned trek. Considering my bad experiences with shipping the trip is better than the drama and losing hundreds of dollars worth of items with a BS insurance plan provided by the shipped. This UPS Store is the saving grace of the neighborhood when it comes to package delivery - since the USPS in NYC is a total trainwreck. I've been frequenting this location for the last 5+ years I've lived in the neighborhood and they've always been a super friendly, helpful, kind team. They all really know the ins/outs of shipping options and really do give you the best recommendations based on your individual needs. Sadly, Josh (shipped to Afghanistan w/ the Army Reserve!) and Carlos left this past year - they were both always helpful and super fast. Garth has worked there as long as I've been a customer - he is always an incredibly helpful, friendly, patient, professional UPS staffer. There was someone new hired after Josh left - I've only met him a few times but so far he too seems like a very nice, friendly guy. And, I agree w/ the other sentiments below - no matter how busy they get, I'm always impressed with how patient, CALM and fast they remain. Excellent recruiting/hiring, UPS Store! Surprised that this UPS doesn't have 5 stars. They are the fastest and kindest and it's always a pleasure to work with them.

There is always a line to the door and staff are usually rude and unhelpful. Also, total rip off if you need to buy any packing supplies . Had to pay $8 for a single small role of packing tape. UPDATE: I made the mistake of trying to go here again. The lady working was rude to me the second she started interacting me with telling me she couldn't use the label that had been provided. When I told her it was the label I was provided she took the package and threw it behind the counter. She did not say anything about what would happen with the package now. When I asked for clarification she continued to rudely talk down to me about how she couldn't give me any proof of the return. As I tried to look up a way to print a new label she was still berating me and complaining to the manager while laughing at me as she told him how I said she was being rude to me. It's a bad sign when I'm willing to take my business to the post office. read more

I am a big fan of UPS stores - having relied on them over 20 years. I have used this store on and off since it opened. The "off" is because inevitably there is a bad experience that wipes out the good ones. I am prompted to write this because on Saturday, December 23, the holiday hours posted on the door and on their website said they were open until 5pm. on Dec 23 (it has a day by day listing of holiday hours). Then I showed up with packages to send out at 2:59 pm - and was informed that they were closing at 3. When I asked why since their website and front door said 5, the answer was "the owner told us to close at 3". No apology. What's the point of posting your hours? Number one rule of business... be reliable - do what you say you will do. read more

I have lived in the Cobble Hill neighborhood for many years, have used this place multiple times, hoping every time I go in that "this time will be different." It never is. The main guy who works behind the counter is the rudest, most curt, customer-hating person I have ever experienced. I wish there were a ZERO STARS rating. I'd give it to them. Once when I packed my own box, the guy became irritated that I didn't give it to him to pack. I'm certain after I left, he drop-kicked my box because the contents was shattered. UPS.com quoted me $14 to ship my item, the store charged me $20. I figured there would be some sort of additional cost, but not sure if $6 difference is normal or not, so I really can't comment on it... Anyway, i'm on line and there are 2 guys behind working - one was helping me check in my package and the other guy was roughly shaking a box that had just fallen on the ground definitely sounded like the items inside the box had broken. The worker (speaking outloud) states to the other worker "i'm marking this box as damaged there ain't no way we're gonna be blamed for this stuff being broken". The worker then wrote on the side of the box "items broken on drop off" or something to that effect. I can't be sure what happened to that package, but it made me feel very uncomfortable and I will definitely NOT be going back to this location. read more

The ups folks in here really are so nice, even though it would be understandable if they were grumps during this season of shipping madness. This could've been a one star review, but it's a five because of Alberto! I went to the store with my little kid in a stroller in the train, only to be dismayed to hear that the computer was down. But Alberto, seeing that I was bummed, told me I could leave my packages with him because he could take pics of my QR codes and send them for me later when the system was back up. I happily accepted. He did that and even sent me email confirmation! He went out of his way and I appreciated it so much. read more

I have virtual doorman service with them and I can say they go above and beyond for their customers. They were even kind enough to call me when my mother who was picking up a package locked herself out of the house. They looked out for her and that kind of customer service does not exist these days. I can understand that there are so many bad reviews but my experience with this UPS store has been positive. An asian guy and an african american gentleman helped me before and they were both professional and helpful even though they were taking care of multiple customers at once and answering phone. It could be crowded and the wait can be long but it's not like Post office. Most people complain when they get "ripped off" but I think it's not UPS store's fault. They don't read fine prints carefully and get all offended when they get charged a lot. read more
