This applies more to the parent company UPS but since they don't put their shipping centers on yelp I have no choice but to post here. UPS many times misdelivers to wrong address then I have to go hunt it down. Also sometimes reports as delivered when it was not actually delivered yet. Finally today they delivered a mangled package to the wrong address. Either they accepted a mangled package, which they should never do, or they mangled it after receipt and delivered the mangled package, which they should never do. read more

I highly recommend this UPS store. The owner/manager used to manage the UPS store in Palatine. When he left the area, the quality of service paled in comparison. I am grateful I found Jim not too far away in Buffalo Grove. He is customer service driven and provides it with courtesy and care. I was at UPS Buffalo Grove store (113 McHenry RD) today around 1:15 PM and it was locked. I waited about 3 minutes and the employee return with his lunch. he said I could drop off the 3 packages but I could not get a receipt. He was going to the bathroom and afterwards he was going to eat his lunch. If I wanted to get a receipt I would need to wait until he was ready to start work again. it was -4 degrees. I said I was going to file a complaint, he told me to go ahead and file a complaint as he would remember me the next time I come into the UPS store. i don't think this was something an employee should to a customer. The manager of this store on McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove is rude and does not help the customers. She seems as though she wants to be someplace else. The owner Sean does not return customer phone calls. They changed the name on my account without my knowing and my mail was rejected. Now I am trying to find it. My local UPS shipping center! Handy for me because they have great hours. If i can't swing by at lunch to get something out, they've got evenings that they're open later (7-ish??), which is awesome. It's just a small little store, but they seem to have everything. They've got mailboxes to rent, packing stuff, etc. Now, keep in mind it's all to purchase, Lord knows nothing is free (no, not even tape). So your best bet is to have everything all packaged up and ready to roll. The few times I've needed help, the guys have been more than friendly with me. read more

A dear friend of mine made me a very awesome crocheted project over a weekend. She then took it to this store to send it to me here in Los Angeles. She wrote out my address but the store decided to take it upon themselves to "correct" the address and zip code and sent my package to another home a few miles away. This is Los Angeles, it's a big place. Don't correct an address that you have no idea about. We never recovered the item and they refused to reimburse my pal even though she bought insurance. Absolutely the worst service and treated her like dirt! Apparently the owner isn't a very nice person. UPDATE: Well, they didn't offer her a refund and what about the item that she shipped? Overpriced and unprofessional. I was sending a small cardboard box that weighed about half a pound. The total came to nearly $20 via UPS Ground. When I asked why it was so expensive, the manager condescendingly replied "Because you're shipping it to Bumblef*ck, USA. That's why." I was a little taken aback by his language, but let it slide. And for the record, I was shipping this package to a suburb on the outskirts of Austin. TX, the 14th most populous city in the US. Hardly "Bumblef*ck, USA" as the manager phrased it. In retrospect, I should have walked out and went to the Post Office. But I can tell you I certainly won't be going back to this location again. read more

Thought I would give them a try despite all the negative reviews! I will not return - simply due to lack of customer service and lack of alternative options offered. I wanted to print a label from my email inbox. I was told to use the back room computer and log in, only to find out I am charged $5 for 1 minute use and $0.05 for the copy. I brought up the competitor's service of emailing copies which they print out without charging computer use. Well, needles to say I wasn't offered this here but was told after paying the $5.10 that it is available. Rick's response "you didn't ask". I am sorry, but this isn't how you treat customers - it isn't my job to guess what your services are - it's your job to sell them by either displaying, in writing, the availability of such or informing the customer beforehand so a consumer can make an educated choice! And no, it isn't about $5! In this day and age, with the abundance of competition, the exposure of bad and good business, through reviews, gives consumers a variety of choices when it comes to meeting their needs and wants. This UPS store failed miserably and I will not recommend to others. read more

I have been a box holder at the UPS Store and even before that when it was Mailboxes ETC and have always had excellent service. Allan, Michael and Andrew go out of their way to make sure my packages get the utmost care. They are always friendly and very knowledgeable about the services they provide. Allan, the manager, goes above and beyond to make sure that my tenure as a long time box holder is recognized. After all these years the UPS Store has become more than just a place to take my packages.....it has been a place to go to where I know I can find friendly faces and perhaps even a joke or two. If you need to rent a mailbox this is the place to go. Packages large or small are given the same great attention. For shipping this is definitely my go to place!!!!! read more

Horrible customer service, wrong information and guarantee provided when shipping package and when I called, the manager Josh was very rude and did not want to take responsibility of it even though the associate who checked out ( Mike ) agreed he said that. Moreover he just disconnected the line without finishing the conversation. I shipped a package using UPS ground with them and was told it would be guaranteed delivered on Thursday, when I checked status on Wednesday it says delivery end of day Friday. I called the store, Mike says there should be some UPS issue since it should be Thursday. I call ups they say it's 3-5 days so Friday it is and I was given wrong info. Called the store back next day, manager Josh takes call and says not their fault and they can't do anything unless UPS sends email saying it was delayed and disconnects phone saying too many customers in the store. Make sure u know what UPS guarantee is not just what the associate at the store says, this store just takes money in the name of UPS but doesn't want to deal with problems they create for customers. read more

I needed to send 10 boxes from Buffalo Grove, Illinois to Glendale Arizona. As soon as I asked them they came right out to the car and helped me bring all the boxes into the store. Andrew was extremely professional, kind, and patient. He gave me wonderful customer service, and his Dad who also works there immediately went to get a comfortable chair for my elderly Mom to sit comfortably while we transacted this large order.
