This UPS Store is a joke. I decided to go there to ship a golf club because I was in the area. It was a single club going to North Dakota, and the entire package weighed 2.7 lbs. They told me $48..... I said that's crazy, and the manager said it's because of the "length of the box." I proceeded to tell him I ship clubs all the time and this size box usually ships for $13 - $18. He looked at me and said "Good Luck." I then drive to UPS in Watertown, and shipped it there for $18.07. This place is run by a CROOK. read more

Parking at this location is terrible. But the guy inside makes up for it. He always greets me with a big smile, and is willing to help even if I have somewhat strange requests. It's amazing how the little things like these interactions make a difference, and I walk out feeling a little bit cheerier than before. If you don't have much to carry, I'd definitely recommend this location over any of the others in the area. read more

Once again -- last weekend -- this UPS Store was open at 5 pm on a Sunday ... in fact, Sajid kept the door open a bit later, until I arrived to mail my package! I cannot say enough good about the wonderful customer service - and about Sajid's incredible work ethic. Today I'm able to mail a package earlier in the afternoon ... and even though Porter Square isn't as convenient for me to reach as another UPS Store, there is no question in my mind about which store I plan to ship from! I'm a customer of this UPS Store since 2007, and have only good things to say about them. Great service, always with a smile, 24x7 access to my box - wonderful all around. Sajid, the manager, is especially a wonderful person and with an outstanding service attitude. Not only is he always smiling, ready to help, and very knowledgeable, but he already waited for me more than once when I called and told him that I'm on my way, but would be a few minutes late post the 7pm closing time. Stay away if you are a woman! I don't usually document / complain about these situations, but I was treated so rudely that I felt I should let others know. I called the store to inquire if the services of a notary and medallion signature guarantee were available. During my questioning on the call, I was interrupted and told, "yes... yes... yes..." But after I struggled in traffic to get to the store, waited in line, I was then told, "No I don't have a medallion." I replied that I called to inquire about the notary and medallion earlier and he said that yes, he offered those services. He replied, "Impossible that would have happened. I never would have said such a thing." Then, he looked over my shoulder at a male customer and laughed at me. I left with that icky feeling of just been treated terribly. read more

The UPS store in Davis square has the worst customer service. They didn't send out my health insurance bill like they were suppose to after purchasing stamps. I have them second chance to purchase stamps another time and the guy behind the desk was so slow helping the person out I walked out. read more

This UPS store goes way above and beyond in customer service. All the employees with whom I had the pleasure of interacting were clearly very knowledgeable about shipping options and procedures, and were swift, efficient, and reassuring. But Sajid, who I believe is in charge of the store, was the best part. I was graduating college and had to send about 20 boxes across the US. Sajid was a welcoming, cheerful, and incredibly patient presence who learned my name early on and would greet me and run out to the curb to help me bring another huge package inside. Often, instead of packing things into boxes myself, I'd lug over a suitcase filled with fragile artwork or heavy books, and Sajid did the most amazing packing jobs I've ever seen. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had weeks of experiences and interactions at this store, and they were never less than stellar. I also had some weirdly shaped and oversized things, and the crew at the store tailor-cut boxes to fit, at very decent rates. Needless to say, everything I shipped arrived home intact. Packing and shipping is usually an arduous (even stressful) chore, but if you go to this UPS store you'll find it easy, even pleasurable. It's wonderful to interact with such capable people, and Sajid will make you wish that there were more people around like him. I'd give the store six stars if I could. read more

Wow. The peeps here are first rate. We had eight boxes of varying sizes and content values to ship home after a family visit and from minute one we were offered help. They assisted us getting the items into the store (they even gave us a hand truck), helped us make choices about how to safely and affordably ship valuable items and were kind through the whole 20 minute ordeal. So, I have spent many an hour at UPS Stores, and know my way around the good, the bad, and the ugly. I agree that a trip to the UPS store is usually annoying (inefficient) and expensive (shockingly so). BUT, this store was a TOTAL EXCEPTION! I went in to buy some bubble wrap to wrap a complicated piece of furniture to send from the East Coast to the West Coast. I knew the shipping was going to cost a fortune (because it was a heavy, large piece), so I thought I'd cut corners by doing the packaging myself. As I bought the packaging, Sanjit, the very nice fellow behind the counter, and I started talking, and he very reasonably (not pushy or salesmany) suggested I think about bringing it in. He gave me some ballpark estimates, too. I went home, thought about it, and decided to give it a shot. This was a big decision because I had to rent a zipcar (more cash!) to even get the thing there. I specifically asked if Sanjit would be there the next day because I have too much bad prior experience with shipping generally to risk dealing with someone else, and I liked his vibe. Anyhow, long story short, Sanjit was there and he was a STAR. He helped me carry the thing from the car, and carefully described how he was going to package it to ensure it would be safe from damage. He is a bit of a crack-up -- likes to laugh a lot -- but in a good way... he's efficient and quick while ALSO cracking jokes, not cracking jokes while you are thinking "I have only 20 minutes left on my zipcar please focus!" I recently moved from Cambridge to LA and used this store to ship my boxes. I paid for insurance to protect my boxes given that I was only sending my most important things. Once in LA I filmed the UPS delivery person shoving my box out of the truck and then STEPPING ON IT to get out of his truck. I sent this video and extensive pictures of the broken items and my insurance claim was rejected. This is ridiculous. I understand that there are many people involved in this franchise but believe that if I pay for such insurance, have proof that my valuable goods were handle with complete disrespect, then I should be compensated as a result. I am very disappointed with my experience. read more

This UPS Store is great. The staff is very helpful. They have helped me with everything from just dropping off a package with a prepaid return label to taking passport photos for a 1yr old (not easy, trust me, but they turned out great). I can't think of a visit I've had to this store that hasn't been quick, easy, and pleasant. read more

The owner of this store is rather petty as someone else has pointed out. We went to get some documents notarized and he doesn't understand the concept of notarizing copies of documents, despite supposedly being a notary! He asked to see the original documents, and when we handed them to him said it was suspicious that we only gave them to him when he asked for them. Thus, he refused to notarize them. This despite the fact we had just copied them in his shop! Thereafter we went to bank of america where we got excellent service for no charge (unlike the $5/document they charge at UPS. Extremely helpful staff: I was able to pack and ship an item quickly. The guy who runs this store is entrepreneurial, and will help you with whatever you need. As one example, this location (and idk this is too common w/ UPS stores) has some resume/bond paper and a computer/printer setup, which saved me a trip to a printing store. read more

Every time I've come here it's been a lovely experience, which is way less than I can say for most UPS stores. There's an older gentleman who works here (Sajid, I'm guessing, from reading other reviews) who always is incredibly helpful and kind, and consistently gets me taken care of and out the door in a jiffy. Beware: you will be charged 1$ for taping your box (or you can purchase tape for 1$ and do it yourself). Petty service!
